Great place for kids. Carnival style rides at Joyland and not all staff were wearing masks.Prairie Dog Town was fun and interesting.

Great place to watch these little critters. Bring carrots to give them a treat and they will let you watch.

Beautiful park close to downtown. Well maintained wide open space. Also clean and well maintained. Great place for a picnic if you can stand the heat. Close to other attractions. Windmill Museum and Agriculture museum. Both a great!

We only went to the prairie dog park. Some of the other attractions werent open. These guys were cute. Watch them for a little while and youll see typical family behavior lol.

Childhood park, so many memories. It is a awesome place to go in the mornings. It is relaxing. We even take walks around.

This place is huge, and there are s do many things to see. A lovely creek runs into a lake, with lots of grassy space for picnics or play. There are ball fields as well. The prairie dog town is amazing! Joyland Amusement Park looks fun (closed for pandemic currently), and the tractor museum and nearby windmill museum add some quirky culture. This is definitely a favorite place in Lubbock.

OMG the river park fishing area swamp is nice. The trees are beautiful.

My girlfriend and I like to goto dog park and we have a special place for ourselves thats very beautiful were we can sit and talk and get away from the world for a little while and be able to collect ourselves from lifes problem we can also in the past even if our Day or week has gone bad we can just go sit at the park and just sit there and talk and we look at everybody elses joy our sadness or problems go away for little while and very safe alot of undercover officers posing as civilian driving around so its safe to say you never know whos a cop so if your looking for trouble you will find it theyre its a beautiful park Lubbock Texas takes very good care of it

We drove by to look at the rides at Joyland Amusement park and we had our lunch there also its like a whole different place awesome!

Its a nice place to take your family for picnics to feed the ducks or just mingle with each other.

Mackenzie park is great on hot day like today,the breeze coming across lake was cool and was probably 10 degrees cooler. Flys are a pain,but thats normal here. Great place to picnic,its to bad people let there dogs run loose and dont clean up after them.

Absolutely LOVE Prarie Dog Town!We were back in town after going to Texas Tech years ago. Had to bring the kids out to see the Prarie dogs. Were not disappointed. So much fun to watch.Take some time to sit quietly and watch.

Prairie Dog Town in Lubbock, Texas is a great day trip! We travel from Midland and always enjoy the wildlife and the story. Have been several times and it’s never a disappointment!

There should be shade for the players in the dug outs. Way too hot for not providing the necessities. Better, cleaner facilities would be appriciated

Nice park....although lots of trash in the water and brush. Nothing a good clean up comity couldnt handle. The frisbee golf course was pretty cool as well. It is a good park to walk and connect with nature.

The baseball fields are terrible. No shade. No restrooms. The only positive was getting to see the prairie dogs.

Really enjoy Mackenzie park. They host regular marathons and fishing tournaments. The park contains the famous Prairie Dog Town, Joyland amusement and water park, playgrounds, a dog park. Santa land and 4th of July fireworks are main events here.

I love this park. I can take a nice drive around the entire park and take my doggies to the doggie park here.

Very nice park, kept in excellent condition. Very big with lots if different areas, so it is kinda intimidating to navigate. Very beautiful and had plenty of parking. Highly recommended for events and activities from walking a dog to a group barbecue.

I grew up in Lubbock and spent a lot of time in this park. My favorite place as a child. First time back in 40 yrs.

Sight seeing and you can fish and go for walks or just sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

The frisbee golf course that they have is a lot of fun! There are 2 different courses. The blue ones are for the more advanced players.There is so much to do there. Fun for different activities.

The dog park is great! Two separate areas for small and large dogs with plenty of room to run and safety fence/gate. Yes, great, benches, and even picnic tables available.

I like visiting and feeding the prairie dogs in Prairie Dog Town. They are so cute and the love baby carrots. I bring guests here from Amarillo because they enjoy it so much. It is well worth the visit.

Ive fished there and had 0 luck more times than i care to admit. But when the weather was a certain way (which i wont tell)i caught fish all night long and they were all over 5 lbs, all nice channel cat and theyre all still there because i didnt know it but my basket had a hole in it. All 12 or 13 fish got away......):Cant wait to go back and catch them again.!!!

Many options to choose from, which includes the prairie dogs or playing a round of golf.

Dog park is great but people really do need to pick up after their dogs.

Not as nice as when it was a state park, but still a must see to appreciate. Includes a golf course and Joyland amusement park.This a beautiful park with the river flowing through. I have many fond memories thruout my childhood.I have since taken my dogs and grandchildren many times, and have always had a very good experience. Lots of ducks, geese, and squirrels.

Even tho most of the stuff is closed down do to the current covid pandemic it was still a unique place with the wild prairie dogs running around.

Great place to go for a day out with the family for park fun or a simple picnic also site seeing. There is also places and plaques that tells the history of people and displays.

Good places. To relax and fishing and playgrounds for kids to play and fun. Watch duck swim and feed them.. Also have picnic and festival and music.. Every year they have christmas lights to watch and enjoy!!

Actually we went through Mackenzie park to go to City of Lubbock cemetery. The city workers were probably on a schedule. But they were considerate and expressed their condolences. Thank you City of Lubbock cemetery.
