Movie was great ( Unhinged ) but the theater is somewhat outdated. The seats are NOT comfortable to sit in for almost 2 hours. The popcorn was good but the drinks have a bleachy water taste to them, like alot of places in Lubbock do.
The theater is the best place to watch a movie. SUPPORT YOUR THEATER!
Ticket price is competitive with other theaters in the area and the snack stand is average. The seating is assigned but the chairs are old, stained, and not in good working order. There were no reclining seats in the cinema we used. Its okay but there are better theaters in Lubbock for the same price.
If you go to Del Taco you will find a clean seating area. As for the service--you will find it fast and with a smile. If you want heat then you can have three choices of hot sauce from mild to very hot.You will want to take advantage of their specials which are on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
No bad comments here, really just a pleasant time. Everything was clean and quiet. Highly recommend.
People working there are always so kind and helpful. The lady behind the snack counter even showed me a way to save money which is always appreciated at a theater!
Cheap tickets and some really good popcorn. Nice selection of games in the arcade also.
WE LIKE GOING THERE SINCE THE MOVIES ARE ONLY 5.14 A PERSON. THE POPCORN, AND COKE COMBO ARE A GREAT DEAL
Prices are pretty good, just really needs an update especially the theater seats.
It was great my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it thank you.
Gotta love the seats! I fell asleep watching the Huntsman in there. Definitely a fun experience.
The theater was nice. The staff was friendly. Plenty of arcade games to entertain before the movie if you get there early.
You have to give some of these businesses a little more time. If they cant hang with the big dogs, so be it. More business for the other guy. Customers are always right. They pay the bills. They can make you, or break ya! Owner will listen. Thanks
A perfect place for relaxed and comfymovie experience in terms of seating as well as number of seats in the theatre unit
Staff was very rude. Seats are old and uncomfortable, floors were very dirty.
Old seating; still a great place to see a movie...
Good place for regular movie-goers. Their facilities are up to the modern standard and their ambience is good to enjoy a movie. This might not be an ideal place for 3-D movie but still suitable for economic movie-goers especially students. Their restroom facilities are good. They provide free parking facilities and TTU students can avail special deal on a fixed day of the week from the hall authority to watch movie.
Great place to watch new movies. I love action, thriller, and funny ️
Seats are pretty close and made my neck start to hurt.
The popcorn is always fresh and good. The theater is always nice and clean. The employees are friendly
Our family really enjoys this theater. Reserving seats ahead of time is sweet. I just wish your snacks weren’t so expensive then I wouldn’t have to sneak in my own! What??? Everyone does that!!!
Thank not one line for buying popcorn, etc. So you better get there very early
Cant complain...its all good!
Not exactly the the best theater in town but its okay
It gets very packed here but the lines keep moving quite fast so we didnt have a long wait
Saw Overcomer, the movie. Great story. Theater was nice.
Great prices. Not crowded. Great for family movie time
I like this theater. The lobby area is really small, so waiting in line for refreshments is not fun. You feel kind of like sardines in a tin can. Also, there is nowhere for you to wait for the seating for your movie to begin. However, the theatres and restrooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. They also show foreign films, the Metropolitan Opera, and other special shows that other theaters in town do not.
Sound was muddy and the projection was too bright. On the other hand, it certainly wasnt so dark you couldnt see and the sound compression meant you could hear dialogue clearly, so pick your poison, I guess.I saw a total of three staff the entire time we were there, so I guess its good there were only about 40 people there to watch any of the 7 PM showings. The staff at the concession stand were polite but uninterested, the popcorn was cold, and the Dr. Pepper was watery. A return trip to the concession stand mid-movie was greeted by one staff member that glanced at me over her shoulder repeatedly while she studied something in the back corner. When she ignored a request to check out by myself and another customer I left my potential purchase on the counter and returned to my seat to finish the movie. Our exit later was un-marred by staff completely; we could have walked out with anything and skipped dinner. The bathrooms were clean before the movie and filthy by the end, my wife complained there was no soap in the womens restroom before or after.Overall a mediocre theater made terrible by poor management and staffing. We wont be going back, which is a shame because we recently discovered Fathom Events, most of which are presented at Cinemark theaters in our area. We will seek out a different theater. Doubly disappointing comparing this theater to the Premier Theaters across the road, which is not only better at everything, they are MUCH better at everything.
Used to be nice but I feel like I watched IT2 at the sticky 6
Older chairs and older theater so the seats dont recline, but prices reflect that.
Not bad . Not the recliner seats like some of the other theaters.
The XD theater experience was nice and the chairs were comfy. The sound and picture quality were both great as well. However, the bathroom was a wreck, the concession stand was a wreck, there was trash all over the place, and the whole building was pretty smelly. Overall, not impressed with the quality of service or the state of repair for the building. And it was not busy and there were employees hanging out everywhere.
I love this theater for many reasons but the main reason being that they DO NOT have reserved seating! Every other theater in Lubbock, makes you pick out where you wanna sit when you purchase your tickets and after that youre committed, obligated, and legally bound to those seats! I hate that! I wanna be able to go see what I wanna see and be able to sit wherever I wanna sit and if I decide in the middle of the movie that I wanna sit in a different spot, I wanna be able to do that and NOT have 30 ushers who are young enough to my grandchildren, scold me like a child. PLEASE KEEP THIS THEATER A NON RESERVED SEATING THEATER!
Excellent staff and managers!
Great movie theater. Good screen quality and excellent film selection.
Comfortable assigned seating, great concessions, expected prices. Courteous management and staff. Clean and stocked restroom facilities. Plenty of convenient well light parking. Discounts on showings and certain discount days. Including summer showings programs.
Last theater in town that still has older cramped style seating. This one also doesnt let you reserve your seat when you purchase your ticket like the others do. This could be good or bad depending on your preference, but the ticket prices seem a little high given the lack Id amenities by comparison.
Nice and clean, sound and picture was great
Awesome spot! Great prices and always clean!
Older theatre, but a good one.
I DONT KNOW HOW OTHER PEOPLE FEELBUT FOR ME AND MY SONI ALWAYS COME OUT WITH A SMILE ITS VERY CLEAN I LOVE POPCORN AND THE COKES IM A PEPSI PERSON BUT THER COKES ARE JUST RIGHT HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOURSELFSI KNOW I LOVE IT I LOVE 3D MOVIESO MY
On a Tuesday about lunchtime, I went to see a movie. After the previews and after about 15 minutes after the movie had actually started, I had to go out to tell them to turn off the lights so I could see the movie. I thought it was automatic but apparently it isnt. Probably will not go back any time soon due to the fact that this theater does not seem to care that people are paying good money to see a movie.
Great, just wish the seats would recline
One of the worst movie theaters Ive visited. Super run down and dirty. Poorly maintained seats.
I had a great time with my hubby, we always try to make it a date night with a movie here at Movies 16 theater,,on Tuesdays once a month because of the cool movie, club membership, and 20% discount at concession stand.love it here... I recommend you try it
Great sound video and snacks... Just not very comfortable in the traditional seating anymore... Would love to come back to loungers.
I had a great experience watching the movie that I had went to go see. However the movie theater could really use a renovation project
Its an alright little theater. Would probably go to a bigger one but this one is great if its close. Price on food is overpriced but that is a norm for any theater.
Always clean and up to standards
The seats were below average as compared with other theaters in the area. Prices, cleanliness, friendly staff, and Show times were all very good.
The popcorn was fresh and great as always. But the theatre itself was cold. The outside temperature was 50 with wind. And it felt like zero degrees in the theatre. Couldnt comfortably watch the movie we were all freezing.
Its an older building but its still very good. Could use some renovation and upgrades for the new generation but Id still recommend it as is.
To have to sit through numerous commercials before the movie just bugs me. One of the longer commercials was Adobe of all things. Who makes a buying decision about business software at a movie. Quit wasting our time.
Great theatre... yet the seats could maybe use a little bit of work. Not to say that they were bad or anything, just not the most comfortable.
Movie was delayed due to error. We missed all the previews and beginning credits. Staff was very friendly. Popcorn and cherry coke were essential to movie going. My purple slush was delicious.
Brought me back from when i meet my wife the perfect date spot for any age
Watched a dogs way home. Awesome movie, truely a tear jerker. Who wont fall in love with Bella the dog? We did.
We came here a while back to see Baby Driver. Theater is well suited and staff are polite. Seating is pretty comfortable and we enjoyed the film. Parking is very ample.
It was okay. It really needs to be renovated. The seats are very uncomfortable. I think Ill stick with Tinseltown or any if the new theaters instead.
I like this place it has all reserved seating now. Doesnt have loungers in all of the theaters
Good place. Nds more cleanliness though
Always a mess and way too much for EVERYTHING! Only great thing is Tuesdays are $5 movies
Completely awful experience. Went to go see a 10:20 p.m. showing of Free State of Jones. After sitting through a very enjoyable movie, the screen cut out about 1:20 minutes into the movie. Several people, including myself, got up to go look for a manager. The lobby, ticket stand, and hallways were all completely empty. I was finally approached by someone in shorts and a t-shirt. He asked if I needed help with anything so I informed him of the problem. He said that he would see what he could do to fix it. The other people and myself proceeded to return to the theater where we waited for the movie to be rewound and resumed where it cut off. After approximately 15-20 minutes someone came into the theater and said they couldnt get the movie fixed and apologized for the inconvenience. He handed out vouchers to see another movie, of our choosing, at a later date but did not do anything to refund the popcorn and other purchases we made while there. I would love to see the end of this movie, but I just cannot see myself sitting through the first hour and 20 minutes of the movie again, though it was an enjoyable movie.
Good movie theater. Doesnt have reserved seating or luxury loungers but the price is cheaper than Tinseltown and the projection and sound are pretty decent.
Food and service plus the comfy chairs.
Cinema itself is great, they never have more than 1 person in concession stand. Very slow.
Good quality surround sound and picture. However the theater seating is behind the times and its audience attendence represents this. This is the only theater in town that does not offer reclining seats. On a positive note the theater is never ever sold out so if there is a movie you cant get a ticket for anywhere else you can show up to this one at the starting time and still get a seat. Never having to share armrests is nice but its also sad to watch a theater struggle to fill its seats because it has failed to update to a seating format attendants want nowadays. Frequently there are new releases that arent even available here but are at all the other theaters in town so check for showings before heading here assuming its playing. Staff is friendly and facilities are consistently clean.
Its OK. Im usually happy with watching a movie here. Could be better. Restrooms filthy. No paper towels in restroom, so it takes 30 seconds to do your business and 10 minutes to dry your hands. Nice people and theater facilities, though.
Prices were ok but to get a quick refill during the movie was horrible. Long wait and a rude lady. She informed me I couldnt get a refill on my sons Icee, which was fine, so I said just a refill on the popcorn and she had an attitude with me. All I was trying to do was get back to my family and movie.
Staff always friendly & helpful! Comfortable & clean!
Just sucks now. Does not compete with other theaters in the area, and prices are more expensive. Seats are old, food sucks, go to the Alamo, the Mall, or the Cinemark on 82nd.
I like this place the best. I dislike having to pick seats before going in and I dont have to here.they are kind, corteous and not to rushed to answer my questions. Popcorn is great although I miss my butter halfway! !
The movie was great! The people were friendly! However, after sitting in reclining seats to watch a movie, this was difficult!! Not only were they not reclining, but they were very snug as well! Full price for non reclining is hard to swallow.
Really nice space! Comfortable chairs and good viewings. Nothing to worry about here. :)
Like it because sometimes you want good seats and not alot of people. Because most theatres here in lubbock are more updated than this theater you can get good seats I love it they have XD and 3D. Difference is the seats thats all, good popcorn too.
It should be half a star really. Lobby always littered with popcorn and the bathrooms are gross. The chick getting our order seemed more into my fiancee than hearing what i was telling her. Movies arent even cheap either. Calling this a great theater is a joke.
Great place for a movie! Great seats, plenty of leg room and great snacks!
Not a bad theater. Movie was a bust, though. Assigned seating would be a plus.
Favorite movie place.
A hidden gem of a theater in Lubbock. Almost never crowded as it lies on a weird location, in the back of a parking lot off an access road, which makes it perfect to catch movies if you want a nice calm theater! Really friendly staff, and clean facility.
Great place great prices
Took the ggs to see Spiderman today. Much better thaI had hoped!! The kids loved it.
I like the customer service you guys have but I like the old seats but sometimes it is ok to make a change but overall great experience I loved being able to watch the mule
Rooms nice and clean. Manager Adrian was friendly. Needed some cleaning.
Dirty. We arrived for first matinee and they were sweeping up popcorn in the lobby. Machine got stuck on our tickets. Popcorn stale. Some stalls in bathroom had no toilet paper. Drink order for 2 sodas got messed up. Only bathroom is at lobby and our movie was all the way at end.
We went to watch Affinity wars and Endgame here..loved it
Average theatre with average employees. No extra amenities, like recliners, bar, or dine and watch service. Decent and simple place to watch your non-epic films.
THEATER 1 TERRIBLE, OLD SEATS, BORKEN SEATS.
First time in a big city theater and honestly was very impressed
This theater needs a serious update, and they need to train their staff how to treat customers, there are much better theater options in town.
I love this theater because its never crowded. And its a smaller theater that plays Indi films sometimes that you dont get at bigger theaters. I also like that you actually get leg room for such an older theater.
The movie was Great!!
Always came here for years, great place
Movie stopped half way through with the lights off and black screen. Overpriced food as well.
Edited: Isn’t even showing Star Wars for opening weekend. This is becoming even more sad. Went to go get tickets earlier for another day and they didn’t have something as big as Star Wars here. So sad. This use to be my favorite place to see a movie.Original: I used to love this place but it seems as if cinematic is giving up on this place. I dont know why you wouldnt show some of the movies that have just released. I noticed this with several. I noticed this weekend that they werent even showing beauty and the beast. I went to see Logan which Im glad they had but I was astonished to see that the Disney movie wasnt even here. The place seems to be getting run down and less taken care of. I dont know where the problem is but I bet it is on management of this specific theater. If the management would care more and have the place looking spotless and amazing as Tinseltown, the people working there might take pride in it and people would actually like coming there like they use to. Then we could have actual opening movies there again. Its always sad to see a company giving up on something without even trying.
Good clean theater. Online ticket purchase.
