I like the experience of going here, they bring you a menu to order drinks and dinner! Theres hardly ever loud customers and the chairs are comfortable. It is more pricey than a regular theater but I think of it as a treat.

Great theatre! Unlimited refills on popcorn and drinks. Reasonably priced. Family parties/Singalongs are the best! Getting props and movie theme favors are so fun! Been to couple and can’t wait to attend more. Buttery popcorn is delicious! Menu under table. Write what you want and fold paper to stand up and the server comes by and gets it to fill your order. Super friendly workers. Bought tickets online for reserved seating and used kiosk to pick them up. No waiting in line. Love this place!

Just saw the NEW Bill and Ted movie now that Alamo has reopened. The movie was most excellent, as expected. The theater was very obviously sanitized and wiped down all over the place. We ordered food and drinks and we were very satisfied customers. Its been so long since weve been to the theaters for a new movie, Ive really missed it! Watching at home just isnt the same.My only suggestion: Alamo should pass out free air guitars for Bill and Ted, due to Covid restrictions.

Loved it!!! Saw Gone with the Wind on the big screen for the 1st time ever. One of my favorite classic movies. It was amazing. The food service was fantastic, the staff friendly & prompt. Highly recommend! 1st time, new to area. Wont be my last!

The Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock is closing its doors, at least temporarily. According to an article posted on the theater’s website, the Alamo Drafthouse, located at 120 West Loop 289, has canceled all upcoming showtimes and is closing in order to “conserve our resources during COVID.”

Excellent customer service. Ive had one bad experience with them but the manager was super understanding and fast acting. Management is absolutely amazing a wonderful standard for movie theaters and restaurants alike. Would give 6 stars if possible.

It was nice to be back at the movies after all this time. Alamo is a good theater as long as you dont order the food. The food just okay, and the service is always sketchy, even before the pandemic.

Birds of Prey.Wasnt a fan.But now I am!Loved it!Good was pricey and only comparable to concession stand food... Seats were comfy but I had assumed they were the reclining chairs... Overall experience-pleasant. Although, I had the best company... :)

First time revisiting Alamo since COVID and the shutdowns, and my experience was actually better than pre-COVID.For a while, service was getting progressively worse (youd get your order super late, then never see a server again until the movie was over), and the menu items were of worse/cheaper quality than originally (little plate of chips instead of big basket, tiny crunchy cookies instead of large fluffy baked ones, etc.)BUT with the reopening, service is much improved, theaters are definitely cleaner, staff is more attentive and though they only have a limited menu, your food at least gets to you in a timely manner. And hey, my server only took 30 minutes to come back and get my refill request, whereas in the past it either never happened, or only happened as they were delivering the bill.Some of this likely has to do with limited attendance, but Im sure they also have limited staff. So give credit where its due, theyve upped their game. Service, cleanliness, timeless, menu, etc all improved over pre-COVID Alamo.And yes, people are very distanced, so its a safe environment to watch a movie as far as I can determine.

I wish i could give this place a better review because i love the fact that they dont tolerate people talking or being on their phones but i have had multiple experiences that were mediocre at best with the waiters. Ive had the waiters straight up not return to bring out my drink after i placed the order. This has happened more than once. Not sure what the problem is but hopefully it gets corrected.

I consistently love this place! The movies are great, reasonable prices. I love getting served at my seat. I love their movie parties. I love their member rewards program. They rarely know how to treat movie-philes great! Great for a date, or a solo movie during the day.

I have been hosting for Alamo Drafthouse for almost 2 months now. They always have the best events, amazing servers, and offer a huge variety of movies across all genres both old and new. Im so glad its becoming a staple here in Lubbock, and rightfully so.

Loved this place! I want to come back, Im originally from Cali, but the servers were great! Food was definitely efficient, fast, well cooked, great tasting, and amazing. The menu also had a wide variety and alcohol beverages were great too! Price to me for a great quality of service was worth it! Definitely finally got one in Downtown Los Angeles Recently!! but my heart is definitely in Lubbock.

Quiet during movies is appreciated. And the firm enforcement of that rule makes the experience consistent. Food is very good as well making for a very pleasant atmosphere.

Great place other than the food prices are really expensive. My wife, 2 kids, and me I spent close to $100 between the tickets, food and drinks. I got a titan burger and loaded fries, my kids got a chicken strip and burger meal, my wife got the 3 tacos meal..the food alone was 63$. Not knocking it by any means draft house is pretty awesome. Just fare warning, it aint cheap.

I came in a little early because I felt confident I could watch the NFL playoffs in the bar.I noticed gymnastics was on the tv and no one was watching this event.I asked the bartender to change the channel. He politely explained that the manager had to do it from the projection room so no one was gong to change it. Other customers made comments after me. I found it odd that no one would be willing to change the channel in a bar. They bartender said he didn’t know why but Alamo doesn’t want bartenders changing in the channel.In a hyper competitive world of movie theaters you would thing you could get a manager to walk up to the projection room and change the channel. Sounds petty but.... I figured I would share.

Everything about the experience was easy and no problems. From the online purchases of my tickets to the ease of ordering the food before my movie.The seats in the theatre were comfy and it wasnt too cold in the rooms. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend it!

We went for the first time today. Food was really good.Very pricey so it will have to be just an occasional thing. The movie was extremely loud so I suggest bringing ear plugs. I just happen to have some in my purse and if you get cold bring a blanket I wish I had. Very comfortable seats. With a blanket and ear plugs it will be awesome. Oh and watch your step. I didnt see a step and fell.

Im a disabled veteran and I have spent several years in a wheelchair(currently walk with a cane now). Alamo Drafthouse has been the most accommodating and wonderful people to work with me on being comfortable and making it easy to get in and out of their theaters. I cannot say enough about this theater and the people who work there. There is not a single theater anywhere I would reccomend to wheelchair users or individuals needing accommodations due to handicap. I will be a life long customer of Alamo Drafthouse.

Its fun to watch movies here and get some food and a beverage. They have traditional popcorn but you can order french fries which they bring to the table. And other items on the menu, too.

Heads or tails on service, when service and food are so important. Literally it seems for every good service weve had, the next is off and frustrating. If one were to take away the food portion of Alamo, then the movie experience is only ho hum. Seats dont recline. However, their no-tolerance policy on phones and talking is a plus that other theaters are too sheepish on.

Seating was assigned but the chairs did not recline. Also, the wait staff running back and forth while the movie was on was distracting. Near the end of the movie, the wait staff delivered the final Bills for service and it caused me to miss the end of the movie because they wanted to pickup the payment before the movie was over. I would not recommend going to this theater. The idea is good but the service needs to be refined. Also, I overheard the wait staff complaining about a lack of tips while I was waiting for my wife to come out of the ladies room. Very rude!

The food and service are always good, the seats are comfortable with plenty of legroom, and I can hear everything without my eardrums being blasted. My only critique is that the theaters are usually cold, so my daughter brings a blanket and we carry on. This is my first choice for a movie experience

If you like eating dinner while watching a movie. This can be the right place for you. If you dont, I dont recommend it. Because everybody around you eating something and staff keep serving food and getting orders, while you try to focus on the movie. Also, the design of the room with the tables for dinner is not great for watching a movie. I prefer the classic movie theater.

As always, the Alamo Drafthouse is excellent. I enjoy coming here for premiers of blockbusters especially, as the no talking and no cell phone rules help reign in any stupidity. The food is great, if expensive. I do wish they still had their friend greens beans, but you cant win em all. The special menus they put out for new movies is always interesting as well.

Its a very nice place. I visit here very often. One thing is to got to movies after 10PM Sun-Thursday since its $6 plus if you download a coupon from College-Coupons you get buy one get one offer for same $6. Strawberry milkshake is my absolute favorite.

Once again, an excellent experience at Alamo Drafthouse for the Sean of the Dead quote-along event. Ive always appreciated the fact that the front row isnt exceedingly close, so even though I got tickets late, I could still enjoy the show.

This is hands down one of my favorite places to go for movies. The theatres are always crazy dark, and I very much enjoy almost everything they offer on their normal menu. I especially like their themed menus, parties, and sing-a-longs. This is a great place for entertainment, regardless of age. My only complaint is, I wish the chairs were a tad comfier!

Unfortunately it is a very mediocre experience, I struggled between 2 and 3 stars but ultimately its a 2, for the simple reason that if that approximate show time had not been sold out at the other theater options, I would not choose Alamo, its the last choice.Seating is extremely mediocre. Other theaters do it better.The dining experience is mediocre (some decent food options, but only a few and the service leaves much to be desired)Alamo had once been an improvement to the theater experience, but they have elected to allow others to upgrade the experience further and significantly surpass them.

I always love going to see movies at Alamo. They have good food if you come hungry and a variety to choose from, including vegetarian and gluten free options. I love their quirky pre-show entertainment and how its different for every movie. I highly recommend getting the app if you come more than a couple times a year, but especially if youre a part of their rewards program.

Every city needs a Drafthouse and a Costco, personally speaking. Its a nigh unbeatable cinema experience from the food to the friendly staff. And best of all they take things seriously about making people put the phones away during the movie.

Always polite staff and clean facilities. I visit frequently to attend the movie parties. The props are a blast, and the MCs are always very funny. The food is great! The loaded fries are my favorite. Seating is comfortable.

Everything was very nice except when my wife fell down the theatres stairs. She thought it was a ramp like coming into the theatre. She was ready to leave as soon as that happened because how she hurt her arm when she fell. I had to talk her into staying for the movie, that we did enjoy.

I really do like the atmosphere at Alamo. Its lovely to have people bring your drinks while you watch the movie. The bar is nice. I havent been to play trivia in quite some time but that has been fun for us in the past. Sometimes, the service is somewhat lacking, but other times is ok. The things they put together to watch before the movie are hilarious. Overall, this is our most attended theater in town. The food very good.

Great place to catch some movies! Especially if youre with a friend or a date, because they have those seats for 2, and you can order all sorts of snacks before and during the movie. Would definitely recommend getting there early, 15 minutes before the movie is ideal.

We had a bad experience last time but decided to try it again. It didnt go well. We got half our drinks and the first round of popcorn, then the lady never returned until check time. We asked another person for refills, but nothing came out. Everyone around us was getting served, and we wanted to order stuff, too. So I sent my husband out to ask someone, but all we got was popcorn and nobody took our order. At the end of the movie, while credits were rolling, the lights were still out so I couldnt see to sign my check. My husband turned on his phone flashlight and a server asked us to please turn it off. Not sure why we keep getting bad service, so were going to stick with Cinemark. They bring food and drinks out now anyway.

Great old fashion theater. Seat comes with paper,pen,table and a menu. Food name after movies or characters. Write your order on paper place paper upright in paper box at end of table. Waiter comes takes it. Serves beer and other festive drinks. Great food. Real butter popcorn served in aluminum bowl. Endless refills. Drinks are bottomless to. Serve in a clear plastic cup. Not for taking home. Very clean with friendly staff.

No children under 6 allowed unless it’s a kiddie movie, food and service is good most of the time no cell phone use inside, people just need to follow some of their rules better instead of showing up late

Have not really been to a movie in a long time. Were enjoyed it tremendously. Restrooms were nice and clean. There is however a bad smell in the hallway. I suppose it cannot be helped since it is carpet. Overall it was a great experience. Food and drinks are awesome.

Great atmosphere! Surprisingly clean for a place where people eat in the dark. Service was pretty good. Minimal disturbances by staff but they were still attentive. Food was good and the drinks were mixed well. Four of us in our group and we all had a great time! Will definitely be back!

The movie was great! The guy in charge of drinks and such for our row was extremely loud and disruptive running back and forth. Then he hands us our tickets like 45 minutes into the movie???? Guess we were done eating??? Got 4 things of ranch in the little containers all filled about 10% full. Then he picks up my ticket and no one else on my row and doesnt even return the cards and receipts before the movie is over causing a huge cluster after the movie trying to find him and get our credit cards back. Just to find out our tickets WERE ALL WRONG!! Finally the guy comes back in with all sorts of attitude throwing receipts and credit cards at people. Better not throw anything at my wife again or someone will be in trouble around there. Worst theatre in town. 40 bucks for some drinks and popcorn you would expect better service.

I like Alamo because of the no phone policy. It still doesnt stop people from looking at them. They think they are being sneaky, but you can still see the light and it can be distracting. Service can be a little slow and really is overpriced, just like most movie theaters. I have also noticed that it has gotten harder to get a refill on popcorn/drinks. We dont go to the movies as often as we used to, but it has also gotten alot more expensive. We really enjoyed both Bohemian Rhapsody and Fantastic Beasts...

Best movie theater in Lubbock! You can get food and drinks served to you. You have leg room, its not too hard getting to your seat. You can go out side the movie without bothering other people, its the only theater I go to. The theater is new, so the screens are legit and the place is clean. I recommend going on Tuesday, movies are 5bucks, theater is virtually empty

My favorite spot for taking in a movie. The theatres are kept clean, the seats are comfortable, and the menu items plentiful and tasty. Their beer and drinks selection varies over the seasons, and theyll sometimes do special drinks tailored to a movies release!

Movies here are always fun. The popcorn here is the best Ive had at a movie chain. The rest of the food is hit or miss and the menu does change. You can get selections from the bar which is nice. Most of the fun is pre movie as you get to see vintage commercials and movie trailers. My big complaint is that they dont have best sound sometimes and that there are newer, bigger, better theaters. I would Alamo over most theaters though and they always provide a wide range of specialty showings; anime, classics, and anniversary presentations. They are offering a back to back to back showing of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Can you imagine that. With breaks, it has got to be 12 hours of movies. Anyway, if youve never been go. Take a date and have a bit of fun.

Been here several times and it really is the best place in the area to catch a movie with family, friends, on a date, or even by yourself! Getting tickets online and just walking in to the auditorium is so satisfying. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Such a nice movie going experience! Food is spectacular whether youre going for a meal, snack, or dessert. Yummy!

We had the worst experience ever here the last time we went. The food was absolutely terrible! The customer service wasn’t great. Everything was way overpriced for what you got and the waiters were waking standing in front of us the entire movie. We used to love this place but will probably choose another theater next time.

I always enjoy the preshow and the atmosphere itself. My neighbor during once upon a time in Hollywood wouldnt put his phone down. The server saw him multiple times and never said anything to him. Would return, but next time Ill inform someone since it seemed like he was buddy buddy with the server.

This place is beautiful and comfortable. The BIG problem I had was with the table service. You cannot purchase your snacks or drinks in the front like a normal theater. You have to write your order down on a piece of paper and wait for a server to pick it up and bring you the food. I arrived at the theater 25 minutes early. My order was finally taken 15 minutes after the movie started and the final order item was brought about 20 minutes before the end of the movie. This whole process took away from the entertainment. If they could fix this unorthodox service method, the experience would be perfect.

Alamo is my favorite movie theater in Lubbock. I have always had a very enjoyable experience here. Unlike most other theaters, watching movies is distraction-free: No talking or cell phones allowed. The online ticket purchasing system is highly efficient, as well, as you can walk straight into the theater with no interruption. My favorite aspect of this theater, though, is the Alamo Film Club. If you are interested in older, cult-classic movies, I highly encourage you to check it out.
