My review is based on the park closing @11pm. There are homeless people out on the streets and let me remind the city of Louisville something... WE ARE IN A PANDEMIC!!!! Why not leave it open so people like me who are decent, dont do drugs and have respect for our parks can sleep there? Especially if they have a car. It just goes to show how Louisville, Ky cares NOTHING ABOUT THERE CITIZENS. What a SHAME!!! SHAME ON YOU LOUISVILLE!!!
Great park with a beautiful view of downtown from the Louisville Loop path!
This place is getting an upgrade which actually makes the facilities very nice. The downside is the people who frequent the park often alot of junkies and you have to keep an eye out for syringes etc.
Too dark not very safe feeling to me.
Kids had fun whilst still able to be safe and social distance
It is a nice place to take your kids and enjoy.
Its a good Park Ball Diamonds basketball court tennis court Riverwalk goes right through
My grandchildren could not play in the playground!!
This place was awesome!! Great play ground, awesome view of the locks. A cute covered pick Nick area and a great place just to walk and relax. The trash needed to be tended to, but Im sure the bad weather the previous day had to play into that. But the park in a whole is clean and pleasant.
Very Well Maintained,Just Beautiful,Back with Old Times, Beautiful Friend.
Nice views from there
Great historical viewing point of the ohio river and close proximity to u.s. marine hospital located in the historic louisville neoghborhood of portland it serves as a great place for families to enjoy the outdoors and fly kites
Nice playground for the kids...
Nice and relaxing place. Its cool to watch the tow boats make bridges.
I just love Bridges and this is by far a great location for a walking bridge train bridge and highwyay
The park is very close to Portland family health center. Unfortunately the park is very dirty and not well maintained. A lot of glass pieces from broken liquor bottles. The place does not feel safe for families or kids.
Tyler. Allie. Hayden loves this place
Great place to let the dog take you for a walk. There were people, but not a crowd. A family having a picnic, a dad & son having a pickup game, and the occasional walker & cyclist. A few picnic tables & a bench across from the island to rest & watch the river go by.
Beautiful park overlooking the Ohio River and the East entrance to the McAlpine Lock and Dam. Watch trains and barges as they travel on and along the river. Well maintained ball fields, picnic tables and grills, handicap accessible playground equipment, watering stations complete with pet fountain ! Trailhead entrance for the City Park loop trail. Just an overall pleasant way to spend an afternoon or evening.
Watched thunder over louisville here with my husband and kids, was awesome. Didnt know this was a good spot. Has a bridge, a play area and bathrooms.
It is a nice park with some accessible play equipment.
The Park is located right by the Lock & Dam which is also worth a look. The park is in good condition, sometimes there is a lot of trash on the grounds. The bike repair station is missing a couple of tools (they looked like they were stolen). But over all this park is a great place to relax. Checkout the Louisville Loop while you are here!
Nice so far, open in 2020
When it is finished with the renovations it will be a premier park the view of the skyline is gorgeous. Its a real hidden gem ......perfect for watching thunder over Louisville.
Great Views but theres nothing here that says the word Park
Dirty and homeless people apparently live in the dug outs. Not very kid friendly with those issues
In spite of ongoing construction and the cloudiness of this Saturday there were still persons on the basketball court, on the electric bikes and on the playground + walkers. I just really hope that the site gets mowed before the Kentucky Derby holiday begins.
Great park. Wonderful to see so many people taking advantage of our city parks. Kids on the playground, ballplayers in the diamond, folks enjoying a beautiful morning.
I used to go there take my kids when they was little. And things has really changed since then they got a lot of new playground baseball fields basketball goal tennis court
Well its good be nice to Louisville metro
It was really fun. Even the adults had fun.
Finally have upgraded to newer equipment for all kids.. Very opened and kids can ride bikes scooters, skate play on playground and usually is laid back without all the hassle of teenagers and wanna be gangsters.. Favorite park in the portland area!!
Live the water available.. power outlets broken though
To much trash, has wheelchair ramps. And no restrooms, kids play area n basketball.
Park still closed
Nice big park for walk with dogs.

Alot of construction going onBut done me right
Great place history in the making
My wife and I really enjoy going down to Lannan for a walk or to sit and watch the river. Its usually not crowded at all, which is really nice.
A brand new playground and it is very nice. Much needed but the thugs have already began putiing graffiti and writing on it.
Its a park with a basic playground.
Nice fields for baseball. Also has a covered picnic area and playground for the kids
So much to see. Currently under construction to add to park, Cannot wait to see finished park. Grew up in area, Happy to see improvement.

Fun day at the park.

I love this nice little hidden gem. Its the perfect place to go on a warm day to walk the Riverwalk or shoot a few hoops!
They have the walkway the goes to beautiful site and historical K&I bridge pathways and to downtown Louisville also Lannan Memorial has nice kids playground tennis courts and little league baseball park and the locks and Damm
The grass was wet and you had to use one bathroom
Nice park, only problem is no bathroom are open.
Nice park with access to other parks
Nice little riverside park with a good spot for birthday parties etc. that overlooks the Ohio.
Enjoyed my first visit to this park. It was quiet with a nice Riverwalk

Nice quiet park. Nice view of train and river

Nice clean park to bring the family.
Dont always feel safe at this park.

They up graded alot of things at this park I added pictures but it was dark will try and get some during the day to show off all the New and nice things they got for kids and family
Great view of thunder
A hidden gem, this park overlooks the Portland Canal. Watch barges drifting by and trains shuttling in and out of the nearby switchyard, and get an excellent downriver view of the Louisville skyline. Visit the adjacent McAlpine locks. Entrance is 27th St at Northwestern Pkwy, but looks like a dark alleyway.
Going
Very well maintained and amazing picturesque scenery
Small park for kids
Great facility or activity as basketball and weightlifting
There was homeless sleeping in tents, the only bathrooms by the ball fields were absolutely horrendous, there was trash all up and down the walk paths
