Better know as the 2nd street free no toll bridge
Very beautiful and historical bridge. A must see.
Nice to walk for a good view.
This old bridge is too narrow for the tractor trailers that are crossing it now in an attempt to avoid the tolls. The local trucks that are making local deliveries are typically made by drivers that are familiar with and used to driving on this bridge. The OTR drivers from outside the area need to go around and use the Sherman Minton if they want to avoid the tolls.
At least it aint a toll bridge!!
Was a beautiful view.
I love the new color... emphasises that I live on the sunny side of Louisville LOL
Great views of the Ohio River. Very unique paint color, looks like gold in bright sun.
Worst bridge in america the lincoln is the 2nd
One great bridge to look at
Not a fan of the yellow. Glad that they put the purple lights back up. Even happier its free.
Gets my nerves when we are sitting on it in traffic. I dislike the new color, but understand why they did it that way. I would have 5 stared it, but that color!
Not slow or backed up. Smooth steady traffic. Will go this way again!
The paint job looks very good thanks
Distinctive yellow bridge, no tolls!
I think the bridge should have been painted a sky blue
Love the new paint job
Its a bridge glad it worked. I didnt fall off
The new paint job looks a lot better. But, as for the bridge itself, I love it cause its FREE!
Great view of the city! Follow the yellow Louisville bridge! Drive or walk!
Nice public bridge but Louisville needs to do something about the speeders.
Very good location for light trail photography.
Its a bridge!!! You can cross it and its freshly painted
Didnt drive through it but it was fun seeing it from the riverboat
Once they finish painting it if they ever do will be better.
Cool looking bridge, but theres constant traffic with the construction thats currently happening.
The way to go if you dont want to pay the toll for crossing the river on I-65.As long as there is no construction, only takes a few minutes longer than I-65.
This is the only way to get the Indiana from Kentucky without paying for it. At the present time they are painting the bridge and sometimes block off all the lanes but one and make it a long time to get across. I will rated 5 stars once the has been repainted.
Bridge work is complete and life is back to normal...no fee for this bridge!
It was awesome!!! The paint job is fantastic!!!! The best bridge I have ever driven on!!!
Nice old bridge.no tolls
This is a fine old bridge that has found a new life. It is one of two bridges that does not have a toll on it from Kentucky to Indiana. It was impossible for me to buy a pass easily as a person from Florida. I used this bridge at least 8 times during my visit. If I had not used the bridge, I would have been sent a bill for way more than the toll with an electronic pass. I would have bought a pass at a store or even the welcome center but limited locations for the pass.
I often traverse this bridge by foot and I very much enjoy it. Its very scenic with the city in full view for both Louisville and Jeffersonville. Its almost always windy on the bridge so dress accordingly!
No toll!! Love the small town feel of this bridge
Love the new paint job
Its a bridge and didnt fall. 5 stars for continuing to live!
Lovely
Great place for history and knowledge about are county and state.
Although it is not fully painted it still looks so much better!
This bridge is getting cleaned inspected and repainted . nice View of the Ohio River between Kentucky and Indiana . best part its Toll free . . ;)
Great place to take a walk
Nice views of the city.
I didnt go in the river.
Not sure how to rate a bridge! This one has automobile and bicycle lanes, as well as sidewalks. Nice, toll free crossing of the Ohio River, with Clarksville on the Indiana side (a small town with a nice visitors center, hotels, and great restaurants) and downtown Louisville on the Kentucky side. Great view of the Colgate Clock, river, and Louisville. Good for cycling.
The yellow really is a unique kinda color that makes the exit and entrance from Kentucky to Indiana is great
Beautiful view!:)
So beautiful great place to take a walk
Very nice park with a couple eateries just right around the corner
So many blondes with no clue having quickies in the middle of the bridge. Other than that the view is great.
Traffic was horrible! 30 min to get across!
Looks like gold in the sunlight. No tolls
The bridge I use any time I am in that part of town so i dont have to pay a tole
Not the best route for larger vehicles
Just a good view
Well, its a bridge, as you know. It allows passage across the Ohio River, therefore its earned four stars for doing its job. It can be jammed because people are afraid of driving over 25 in the small lanes, but those people are wrong. Great alternative to 65 if youre avoiding the governments tolling. Who agreed to that??
Cool when thunder over Louisville goes off from this bridge.Got caught in a 20 minute traffic jam tonight but the view is pretty scenic. The Louisville skyline in quite lovely.
Its the bridge you take thats free w/ no toll to Indiana its newly painted .
You might be sitting there for a nice min
Took me 30 minutes to cross the bridge.
Cant stand the new color
Definitely the Budget Option Bridge, and VERY under construction, but you can tell its trying hard
Am I really going to rate a bridge? Yep! It has no tolls and it gets me to kentucky. 5/5. Would cross again.
Dont like the ButterBridge color- but it is convenient.
Bullcrap wait 30 to go across free bridge this was scheduled to be done earlier. At least give tax payers a break when they are pushed to use the toll bridge. Indana does a tax credit. Kentucky quit being so greedy and step up to the plate. Also raise the rates the first year and base it on the fact not enough people crossing toll bridge. Ever since the toll bridge has been working there has been several different methods used to push people onto the toll bridge either one lane down because of roadwork or because of painting the bridge. Not to metion have you seen how slow they are on the painting even though they are going faster it is rediculous. Id like to know the amount of gas people are wasting by sitting in line at the bridge. Als there has been vehicles catch on fire from waiting not to mention several batteries have died because of the rediculous methods used.
This particular bridge is being repainted and repairs are being made right now.
What can one say about a bridge?
Construction when getting off during rush hour
Nice view!
Finally finished.
If you need a monument. This is where you go.
Take this to avoid the toll on the interstate bridge...
Great downtown bridge. This bridge and the Sherman Minton bridge are the two Louisville bridges that are not tolled.
Nice to walk on
That color is growing on me.
Very pretty bridge
Umm nice bridge
Why are the workers using Great Stuff on the beams!!??
Its free baby
The Second Street Bridge is indeed the only bridge remaining without tolls. Its very easy to access from downtown Louisville (just drive north on Second Street) and a bit more difficult from the Indiana side (follow signs for US 31 South). There is a broad sidewalk on each side, so I dont understand the comments about being difficult to walk on. The sidewalks are close to the roadbed, so it is noisy for sure. This is also one of two ways for cyclists to get across the river, but use the plates that cover the expansion joints on the bridge. If you want to have a scenic, relatively quiet, leisurely walk or stroll, without traffic (or a bicycle route with lots of pedestrians) go a little upstream to the pedestrian only Big Four Bridge. It takes walkers and cyclists from Louisvilles riverside parks to the heart of downtown Jeffersontown.
A nice place to take your whole family
Worst color painted bridge in the state.
Great view
Beautiful scenery.
Very nice place
There is a park nearby that is very nice.
Construction in process. They are about halfway through painting and is down to just 2 lanes.
Old historic bridge in downtown louisville. Only bridge without tolls.
Beautiful view
They are doing construction so pay the toll or you will be waiting 30 to 45 min.
Longest wait ever to get across. Totally sucked with traffic flow.
Great view!
