Very good place. When we went we saw Hobo Johnson and everything about the venue was great. The bar was good and the view of the the stage from almost everywhere in the place was pretty good. One minor complaint would have to be the location of the bathrooms in contrast to where crowds tend to congregate. I love this place though, the house staff does a great job.

Venue is great for small performances. Good standing room and ventilation so you wont get overheated. Second floor as well if you like a birds eye view of things. Highly recommend seeing smaller acts here. Wish the bar was a bit better stocked though. Still 5 stars.

Great place it does get crowded, but what can you expect when you get a great view. At a great concert. Womens and mens bathrooms located on opposite sides and they are cleaned regularly through the concert. Bar in the front and stage in the back. Always ready to come back.

I am very late posting. My visit was Late July 2019. I had a great experience at the Ballroom. The employees were very friendly, I didnt know a soul and felt very comfortable. I used online ticketing, and easy email conversation to upgrade my tickets. Not to mention the show.. Motley II and my new favorite band Downtrend, Kentucky Metal.

Excellent and unique venue! We recently went to see Matt and Kim play there and chose to sit upstairs on the balcony. We paid extra, but it was well worth it. There were two bars upstairs. I would have liked to see a better craft beer selection, namely at least one IPA available, but oh well. They did have some Against the Grain and tall-boy PBR. Anyway, the view of the band was amazing! The staff was super friendly! I would definitely recommend Mercury and go back for another show.

As my first time visit, i enjoyed the venue. Well kept, clean facility. For what little need there was to interact with staff, they were professional, friendly, and aimed for efficiency. The only 2 forgivable things I dislike are: there is no seating for general admission, yet this applies to any concert here; and then there is the amount of close-quartered crowding at hand. The silver lining about these 2 drawbacks though is that earlybirds can be up close to the stage, and the size of the place makes crowd management easy. That said, if someone were to have either agoraphobia or claustrophobia, this venue is a good place to keep an eye on for your entertainment

Great venue. We were on the main floor right up front! Standing room only but we were able to interact with the musicians. Excellent acoustics and a very large floor. There is also the preferred seating up above with theatre style seating at the back and tables and chairs on both sides. They have a bar but I dont drink so I cant tell you about thebartending. I do know that one mixed drying and a large can of bud cost $18.

Nice intimate setting for smaller concerts, about 800-900. Good acoustics, fairly well maintained. But the big negative is that they dont have any seats. Its standing room only. That gets really old after four hours unless youre drunk. This also makes it somewhere between difficult and impossible to reach the bathroom or the bar and you lose your place to stand.

First time ever, visiting this well known establishment... It was awesome! Atmosphere is perfectly tuned for a diverse audience -all adult ages are welcome here. The staff is super helpful, and friendly. Prices for tickets are also great, typically a lot cheaper than other local venues, which is a huge plus. There is limited seating, so get there as early as possible to get a good seat. Theres plenty of standing room though if youre running late. Absolutely worth a visit! I know Ill be going back! ;)

Nice place when not too crowded. Not enough places to lean/sit/rest for a whole show, and prices for the only seats available (upstairs, various VIP levels) are steep for what most need / want. Great sound and great band. All employees I encountered were friendly and helpful with an extra serving of customer service excellence - bonus points, for sure. Parking was also easier than I expected for downtown (free street parking after 6pm), but I was there on a weeknight.

My boyfriend and our friends attended this venue this past weekend for a country concert (Chase Rice). It was fantastic. Not a bad place in the house. We actually chose to do VIP seating upstairs due to there being chairs and a much less crowded bars and restroom. I highly recommend purchasing this option. Its very affordable, especially with our tickets being such a great price to begin with. I will suggest purchasing tickets via LiveNation, not Ticketmaster if you are wanting Fast Passes. I used Ticketmaster & didnt have the Fast Pass option. You can also purchase them at the box office window the day of the event, but hurry because they sell out very quickly. Personally, we decided they werent worth it unless you just want to be in the first row right in front of the stage. We had a great view either way and were satisfied with not being right up front. Overall it was a fun experience and we cannot wait to attend another event at this location.

Their handicapped section is a joke. I was also told by a person over phone in box office since I was in wheelchair I would be permitted to go upstairs and sit in a seat only to get there and be told I would have to pay a. Extra$60 and upgrade to premium seating to do that. Its a great atmosphere to watch a show prices are a little outrageous $4 for a soda WOW, THEY DEFINITELY NEED TO UPGRSDE THEIR ACCESSIBLE SEATING AND WE BOUGHT FAST PASSES BUT WaSNT MUCH FASTER THEN RDGULAR LINE SO ANOTHER WASTE OF MONEY.

What it gives it takes away. The butter: The bartenders and staff are incredibly friendly, and they make all the before-show interactions fantastic. Mercury Ballroom also books interesting acts, especially for a small city like Louisville. Ive had one of the best concert experiences here, seeing Here Come the Mummies. The band was fantastic, but the crew also handled all the instrumentation well, and the sound was great. The fry: I had one of the worst sonic experiences of my life here watching Atreyu. The sound system was so loud that my ears were ringing after I took my ear filters out. And despite that volume, there was next to no articulation in the sound. Despite the fact that I knew many of the bands songs, I couldnt hear that they were actually playing them, except for the bass drum or treblely notes on the guitar. I left the set halfway through because I was so frustrated.

How is VIP on the balcony over top of the stage to see Ella Mae she had mahalia open for her. Because the way this venue is set up it is hands-down the best concert I had ever been to. Sounds on point, cold, wonderfully dim lighting, the balcony is literally right over top of the stage we had our own cocktail waitress that came to our seats. It was an amazing experience. Great small venue! Saw Coheed and Cambria... They sounded AMAZING! The place was packed, but still didnt feel over crowded. They have video monitors in the back, which was kind of nice. I mean, the place isnt that big, so the monitors arent really necessary. But they did have a nice clear picture of the entire stage, so it was nice. Its a great venue.Ive seen a couple shows theyre looking forward to seeing a couple more in the upcoming year.Like I usually say its not just about the actual business that youre reviewing but the atmosphere it produces and this place ranks well as far as thats concerned. The staff at the venue the patrons at the shows and even people outside seem to all share a very similar vibe of excitement, happiness, and peace. Now after I typed that last thing I realized how hippie it sounded but that was not my intention what Im really just trying to convey here is that people that werent even going inside to enjoy the show were vibing with people outside and you seen all types of people that wouldnt normally mingle all hitting it off with each other like they were old friends. Also on a personal note and anybody that knows me thats reading this will laugh because theyve heard this a thousand timeswere walking out to our car once and seen Tech Nine and Krizz Kaliko walking down an alley right after the show.So yeah good memories of that venue.

You can feel the every beat of the drums. Can get a bit crowded, but it stays friendly. It has a bar, and a mixed aged crowd. Every song is uncensored, so be aware of the music and what you wish to expose your kids to on the night you go. Yes, supervised kids are also allowed in, and they do sell ear plugs, it does get loud and stays there for rock/alt music. Have id ready, and bags/pockets will be checked. This is to avoid random acts of violence in their building, so please let them do their jobs.
