This is probably one of the most beautiful city parks Ive been to. Though the Japanese Gardens were closed when I was there, the rest of the park had stunning water features, informative plaques about the different trees, and a wonderful walking path spanning the entire length of the park.It is well-maintained as I saw no litter on my walk, and the paths were clear of debris despite the recent storm. If youre a bird watcher there was plenty of ducks, geese, and cranes.Definitely worth a visit if youre in the mood for a nice walk around a park, or if youre a Pokémon Go player there are plenty of Pokéstops and Gyms.Photos by me.
Quiet peaceful park but not as clean as it used to be and dog poo everywhere we walked on the grass. We wont be back. We live in woodland and drove the 20+ miles for a walk with our8 yr. Old daughter but poo everywhere.
Always beautiful to visit, but the path on the island is closed up because of the covid-19.The pathway up to the bridge, however is still open, and is kinda nice also.
We stopped to let the kids stretch their legs and get some energy out on a long road trip. This park was clean, free of graffiti, free of drug paraphernalia, and well maintained. Much safer than many of the parks in the big cities of California. We will be making this park a regular stop when visiting family in Wa.
Beautiful park sitting among a busy little community. The lake is unique and peaceful. Cute squirrel bridges in the cables over the roads. At least 2 play grounds and a trail to walk completely around lake Sacajawea.
Always fun to visit, doubly so when the seasons are transitioning. Autumn is just showing in the gardens, itll be fun to watch them progress as we near first frost. See you soon
Lovely park, stopped here on our road trip. Very pretty and clean. We could not go on the bridge, it was closed for some reason. Took nice pictures as a family here.
The area is under construction right now (08/14/2020) and only half the garden is accessible. It is a gorgeous place, so gorgeous that some birds are nesting on the lovely island and they may come back next year. It is unsure then if the island will reopen to the public as the bird species of the lake are protected.
Lovely walking spot for the family. Wide walkways and lots of fresh air.
Great place to walk and view the beautiful sights also a great place to play games like ingress or Pokémon go
Wish the hours were longer but its so beautiful, especially with it just being open to the public its kept up very well.
Its a good place to bring the kids. And plenty of room to walk around. And wonderful sights to see
Beautiful place! We had a great walk. Nice and Clean.
This is the crown jewel of Longview. What an amazing park and setting right in the middle of the city. Folks in Longview dont know how good they have it with this resource available for everyday use. The trees and gardens and open green areas that line the 3.7 mile loop trail around the lake make this one of the best urban parks I have ever visited for a town this size. Check it out!
Love all the autumn colors in this park, great views and a lot of walking.
An amazing place to sit down and write in my journal. When I find myself suffering from writers block I can always look up and see some beautiful aspect of the city, be it the world famous squirrel bridges, the crotchety old geese, or the numerous local personalities living their lives. I love this place!
Plenty of shaded area for walking. Lots of dog owners. Grounds well kept.
So peaceful and lovely.Lovely walking paths.Lovely lake. Just lovely.
Walking through the gardens is always relaxing and gives you the feelings that there is still amazing and beautiful places in the world still!
The. MOST. BEAUTIFUL. City park ever! If you are ever in the area its a MUST see!
The lake is one of my favorite spots in this town, especially for a walk
Nice like park to stretch your legs and take in some beauty!
Beautiful, very well cared for and clean. Peaceful and calming. Lotus flowers were beautiful.!
Pretty neat place to chill by water and walk a semi real Japanese park. I would take advantage of the huge lake and park around it also. This only takes about 15 minutes at most to walk through so short trip at most.
Strongly recommend a picnick in the park with your friend.
Beautiful, well maintained park with excellent pats for walking, jogging, fishing picnicking, photography.
Mill town gem, something to really be proud of. Free quality concerts in the summer time. Never a bad time to walk the lake.
I use to enjoy walking around this island for its Japanese cultural vibe. Now it’s closed on weekends and after a certain time so that really puts a dent in my opinion on it. Frankly the island itself is probably still a great cultural vibe and the issue of it being closed has more to do with the city management/ parks department.
Really love this park so open and a nice place to hang out and just relax
Beautiful today, lovely walk around the park
Stinks, but the view is very nice. People who live in the area also place painted rocks here so it’s awesome if you have kids, there are playgrounds and plenty of field to run. There is also a walking path that people walk/run.
Nice park beautiful lake view...only issue is the homeless living in the undercover picnic area, they stay to themselves but make it so no one else can use the facility.
Stunning, serene, well designed with bridges, paths, grass, trees, Japanese garden, and plenty of parking. A hidden gem.
This is a beautiful part of the lake.
Very serine and well manicured.
One of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the !
Lush picnic areas, beautiful rhododendron garden & meandering lake with blooming lili pads & circular walking/jogging path. Hidden treasure!
Beautiful clean (liter free) park. Only 3 homeless @ the east end of park. Park boasts 114 specimens of trees from around the world.
Nice place to walk..talk relax. Bring your dog they like it too
Beautiful walk around this man-made lake in downtown. Dog friendly, lots of birds of all kinds hanging out together. Wonderful walk-about and meeting point.
This is a beautiful serene park. I would love to take a kayak on the lake.
Beautiful..walk lake or enjoy the view
Not very happy that I’ve been here three times in last couple months and the gardens are closed. You shouldn’t put that you’re open on google if you’re not. Wasting people’s time.
This year was fun at the Lake!!...the kids loved the fair rides!!! And fireworks were wonderful like every year. Happy 4th!!!! *2018*
Beautiful place to get away
Awesome lil surprise here in Longview that I did not expect. Truly a lil gem in this town.
Love this lake, great walking trail all the way around the lake with some pretty decent trout fishing
Beautiful. Serene. Relaxing.
Best place to buy crack and also spend time with your baby mama
Its a nice little walk.
Back in the day the lake was a slough. Its never been clean enough to swim in as it should be
Great little Zen garden, Im a huge fan of Sacajawea for being a little Oasis in the middle of Longview.
Really beautiful park with lots of walking available.
Great place to go walking lots of trees and very peaceful
Beautiful park. Lots to look at and great excersize.
Beautiful place to relax by yourself or with loved ones, had educational information as well.
Beautifully well maintained park. Gorgeous trees. One of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited. Several playgrounds for the kids and suited to every age.
Its such a pretty place
Open during spring, summer and fall season, great for walks and pjctures!
One of the prettiest city parks Ive seen
Beautiful for a walk
No issues or shortages customer service was as expected
Kids always love it there. Its safe and pretty place.
Very nice urban park with great access and features.
Love walking through here. Kudoos to park and rec. For keeping it so nice.
Absolutely beautiful. Love this pride of this town
Great layout. Nice and peaceful.
A gentle stroll, only taInted by the end. Hope to experience again sometime
Beautiful scenery, just wish the gardens were open!
Beautiful little island at Lake Sacajawea with very Japanese feel, but not authentic. There could be more plants and structures native to Japan to really make visitors feel as if they are there.
This park is very very nice. Beautiful what the landscaper do! Hats off to you! Hope they keep it free of transance. It would be a good place for security to patrol every night. Not that Ive heard of any crimes but just to keep it a safe zone
So beautiful here!!
Hidden Jem! Very beautiful place in the midst of the city
The City of Longview has done a wonderful job of creating and maintaining this beautiful gem located on the northern end of the lake. Take a picturesque stroll across the wooden bridge and lose yourself in this tranquil environment.
A very well done man made lake .I love it .so beautiful and native wild life in the lake and nice location
Favorite place at the lake
Beautiful area, only drawback the gardens close at 3:30!
The gate is closed and I couldnt get on to the island.
Beautiful day to walk and see old friends
Why is it locked up ? The chained gate and plywood look a little off .I think google map new about the gate .Google had me on the wrong side and said walk the rest of the way on the water in it ? Im sure it was not cross with a
Wanna go for a walk? Feed some ducks? Sit quietly and watch the sunset? Play catch? Lake Sacajawea is a great place for city dwellers that dont have an abundance of free time and really want to go outside and play. The Japanese gardens are beautiful, I love just roaming around enjoying a little bit of nature and resting my mind. The entire lake is pretty well maintained. If you walk all the way around it during the day, youre going to find workers at some point, picking up trash, cutting grass, removing fallen tree limbs, etc.Ive lived in Longview for over 10 years now, and still find an excuse to go visit the lake on a regular basis. Ive lived in a lot of places close to some pretty nice and much larger lakes, and for being a small, man made lake, its appeal stacks up with the best of them.
Clean park and equipment. Great place for families!
They need more activities fishing and jogging just dont cut it A couple barbecue grills wouldnt be bad or a basketball court or even a tennis court. Something? Beautiful place though. Besides the people tryen to stay out of the rain.
Beautiful place. They need to leave the gate unlocked more often though.
Several parks for the kids, 7 miles of walkinh trails. Most trails are level and graveled. The city has worked to clean the park up.
Very nice lake and the walk path around is great. Well maintained.
