My family loves this place! I remember running around here as a kid so it is fun to see my little kids doing the same years later. I would recommend buying the fish food for $1 and going over to the ponds during your walk around the gardens. We love the diversity of the areas and how kid-friendly it is. You can find plenty of shade while you walk and sit, which I enjoy. Stroller-friendly as well. Well worth the yearly membership.

Came here for Luminaria.. This would be a cool experience outside of COVID, but otherwise it’s super crowded and unsafe in my opinion. They say it’s a “limited number of people to allow for social distancing,” but it seems it’s only limited to the number of tickets they can sell that night. Hordes of people, many of them not wearing masks. Would be awesome any other year.

I have wanted to visit the gardens for quite a while, but never really did until now. It is 100% worth it.The grounds are a lot more expansive than you would expect and it is very beautiful. The paths cover a lot of ground, but there is always a well placed bench just where you might want to sit. The rose garden and the ponds were absolutely stunning. Loved feeding all of the Koi.Unfortunately the waterfall was closed for maintenance, but overall its a very beautiful and relaxing place to go.

What a peaceful and beautiful place. The landscape, the flowers, the ponds, the waterfalls and the sculptures at the Light of the World Garden are spectacular. Ashton Gardens provides a wonderful place for a relaxed walk of 1 to 2 hours. The Light of the World Garden shows beautiful larger than life statues of Christ in several well known biblical scenes. Just this garden would be worth your visit.

This was so wonderful! We were expecting box gardens and didnt expect to spend much time there, but it was like stepping into Alice In Wonderland. Everywhere you looked was photogenic, well-maintained, and so beautifully put together. The rose garden and koi pond were simply magically, and the waterfall part was a delight to walk through. It is most definitely worth the price, and the best place to get some steps in!

Beautiful gardens that you wouldn’t expect to find in Utah. Definitely overpriced though. Go on a day when there’s a discount.More pro tips:1) Be prepared to either walk a lot or spend $$$ to get a golf cart.2) Definitely go on a cold day. There’s quite a bit of shade, but there are still large exposed sections—namely the entire Christ statues section—and much of the walking is up and down hills, which can get tiring pretty quick.

Luminaria Update: increased my rating by one star. I actually rather enjoyed luminaria, the entire family did. The kids were mesmerized by all of the lights. They had adequate areas for warming, and the directional paths made it simple to keep the kids going in the right direction. The VIP ticket packages were worth the bottomless hot beverages and the closer parking.Original Review: Brought the kids here for a walk, and dont get me wrong its beautiful, but I feel like theres definitely not much to do other than walk around. Was a little disappointed that the massive hills that would be ideal to roll down had signs to keep of the grass. The large water feature at the time was out of order which was also disappointing. Might be better not with the kiddos.

Beautiful gardens! Amazing! I do have one serious gripe that needs to be addressed. The walk from the parking lot to the front door to the back patio and to the greenhouse where the carts are received is quite far. Having visited with my 96 year old Grandmother (Seniors love gardens too, if not more), the walk was very straining on her. The worst part was that there were no seats for this dear woman in the lobby, or the back patio. Having lived 96 years, it would be a shame to have something as simple as no chairs be the cause of her demise! Get some chairs, please! Show The Greatest Generation how much you appreciate and love them. Please! Otherwise, keep doing the great job you are doing.

A very pleasant trip to Ashton Gardens. Today was Two-Dollar-Tuesday, so it was very reasonable priced. In spite of the recent heat wave everything in the garden was lush and green. Due to social distancing rules, the gardens were not crowded at all. Bottle refill stations could be found to help us hydrate, and picnic tables were available. We experienced a few mosquitoes, but they werent a big distraction. When closing time approached, a worker pleasantly reminded us of the time once. I highly recommend all nature-lovers come and visit.

If I could give this venue a 0 star I would. I decorated for a wedding at this venue and the employees were not helpful at all! In fact, one employee Kelsie singled out our family when someone from the wedding party allowed us to use their golf cart to transfer some decorations down to the event. As soon as we began unloading the items she asked my sister for the name of the person who rented the golf cart, we did not know as they were just a member of the wedding party and were trying to be kind and helpful by loaning us the cart. She immediately confiscated the keys when my sister told her she had to take it back to them at the top she told my sister If they get mad since you didnt bring it back you can tell them it was me. She did not care that she took away a legitimately rented cart and honestly I felt like she targeted us because of our race. She did not want to help us from the beginning and continued to have a bad attitude as we asked her for help through the process.

Some friends took us to the gardens. The flowers were beautiful and they had multiple gardens with different styles of plants. LUMINARIA. What an amazing experience. I loved it. I took my kids and husband. We spent 2.5 hours walking through the garden. There are small shacks that sell different varieties of food and drinks. There are different scents throughout the light attractions. They have bonfires and a warming tent. There is an area that focusses on Jesus Christ and his life. There are multiple statues softly lit and stand out as a focal point of the attraction. It was amazing and brings the true meaning of the season to heart. This is definitely a must see and come back again.

And also a 50% discount on tickets for other guests. Its been well worth it. And if you come when you can rent the segways(when its little slower), you definitely should! Its really fun. Ashton Gardens is a wonderful, beautiful place to visit. If we lived locally, we would get a membership so we could return as often as we liked. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful as we checked in. The gardens themselves were even better than we expected. You could spend a whole day here, but plan for at least 3 hours to see and enjoy everything. The 2-hour golf cart rental is well worth the cost. Just a quick note about navigating to the gardens: if you follow Google Maps for Thanksgiving Point, it will take you to the main (water tower) campus adjacent to I-15. However, the gardens are on the Garden Campus, so be sure that you navigate there directly. There is good signage in the area once you know to look for the Garden Campus. For food, we highly recommend the Harvest Restaurant just below the Water Tower on the main campus.

Review №100

Ashton Gardens is a sprawling, cultivated campus with several unique destinations along about 1.5 miles of paths. Theres quite a bit of lawn, so this doesnt have the same feel as a more natural environment like Red Butte, but the intent appears to be creating the environment of a large estate garden. Theres an impressive waterfall that is actually a series of cascading rivulets descending over simulated rocks. While the whole structure is manufactured, it integrates impressively with the landscape. Theres a quaint secret garden, a stair-stepped Italian garden, and a small fragrance garden towards the bottom of the park. On the northwest of the park is a pond with a school of large colorful koi fish and ducks that are more than comfortable being fed by humans. A pretty rose garden with a large curved pergola and a series of switchbacks along a stream are on the north side of the park. It appears that the gardens were founded by religiously inclined people. Theres a large space with over 30 bronze statues depicting stories of Jesus from the Bible. Whether you are religious or not, however, this is a beautiful botanical park that is worth about two hours of your time. One note, however, its probably wise to check what events may be going on before you go. When we went, the attendance was sparse, but Ive heard from others that there are frequently events that can crowd out a quiet experience.
