A gorgeous Friday afternoon in early November. The view is so wonderful and the wines are very nice. A wide flavor variety that should allow anyone in your party to find something they LOVE!
A great family and friendly atmosphere. The wines were great and everyone was helpful in answering questions. They didnt have anymore tours scheduled for the day but Brian took the time after some of his duties to give us a small guided tour and even took us out to the vines. His small gesture and kindness in this act instantly cemented Willowcroft into a memory that means so much to us.
We enjoyed our visit to Willowcroft. We had tried two wines and both were good! The view from the winery was beautiful. Not a lot of seating so I’d recommend bringing a blanket or chairs for seating in case they are busy. Overall, we a had a nice experience!
I cant say enough good things about Willowcroft Farm Vineyards and Winery. Talk about a hidden gem off the beaten path! The location is private and relaxing with breathtaking scenery (even during a severe thunderstorm)! The $12 tasting price for 7 wines is one of the best tasting prices in the Leesburg area. The wines were great and the service was even better. They offer outdoor picnic tables and plenty of indoor seating options. Its hard to believe that this is the original winery in VA because it is so well maintained. I will certainly be back with friends so I can boast to them about discovering such a great place to enjoy wine and VA views!
I visited Willowcraft Winery with some friends for the start of my 50th birthday weekend celebration. We had never been to Willowcraft before, but WOW what a gem!!!! The views are amazing!! The weather was perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the views that stretched for miles and miles!! Lew gave us one of the best winery tours I have ever had (he is so knowledgeable) and Kim prepared our tastings -- very, very covid safe -- she brought them to us outside in individualized boxes. LOVE this place & cant wait to go back. Thanks Lew & Kim!!!
Nice seating area, a short trail, and friendly staff (Kevin helped us and he was very nice).
A truly gorgeous old barn hosts the tasting room. There’s an amazing view of blue ridge mountains across the valley. Former resident cat has many portraits on the walls. Dogs and kids ok. $85 barrels. Lots of deer to chase. Also, the wine is very good.
We visited Willowcroft on a dreary looking November Sunday, and we were very pleased to be given a tour by the owner & winemaker himself, Lew Parker. He gave us the most informative winery tour that Ive ever had. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and found the seating area upstairs to be warm and comfortable.
I know wines are subjective when it comes to tasting BUT these wines were not remotely close to enjoyable or what I would consider a Virginia Wine. I expected big things from “Loudoun County’s Oldest Vineyard” with that claim to fame and the reviews I saw but I was not impressed by the wine, atmosphere or service. When it came to the wines all the whites and reds tasted the same but all seemed to have a musty taste and odor. That same musty smell permeated the tasting room and we felt like more of on inconvenience than customers. The one lady who seemed nice had to call our server out of the back to do our tasting and he seemed annoyed that he had to come up front. There are plenty of wineries in the area and I recommend stopping elsewhere but again wine is subjective so stop if you so desire.
Its a wonderful place to share with friends and family.
Beautiful vineyard, lovely staff.
LOVE Willowcroft. We have been coming here for years, Dee has always done our tasting and she is great! Yesterday we had Chuck, who was also very welcoming and informative. The winery itself is a little small, but I have never felt overcrowded. The staff is very generous as they give you more than one taste of a particular wine if you especially love it. Their new chocolates are so delicious!!
A bit of the beaten path, but excellent wine, service, and views. Won’t regret visiting
We had a fantastic experience at Willowcroft Farm. The location is fantastic. Gorgeous view of the Virginia. It is the oldest winery in Loudon county. Pet friendly, not sure about kids. There is a super friendly cat roaming the property as well. The tasting itself was amazing. Our guide, Woods, was extremely knowledgeable. Adding layers of interesting info to each wine. The wines themselves were good and each one in the tasting did a good job of teaching differences in grapes and manufacturing processes.Examples of interesting comparisons in their menu were tasting a cold steel Chardonnay followed by an oaked Chardonnay. Same grapes, very different flavors. Another interesting back to back was a blended white, reisling and muscat-ottonel followed by just a muscat-ottonel. Really highlights what flavors each of the grapes was adding. They also had a chocolate and wine paired tasting which was amazing. Chocolate was fantastic and paired well with the wine.My wife and I greatly enjoyed our trip to willowcroft. Fantastic experience, great location, good wine at reasonable prices. Id highly recommend it. We actually went back at the end of the day to get a couple extra bottles here because it was our favorite of the day.
I LOVE Willowcroft! Weve been members for 5 years. The wine is great and theres a great variety. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I take all of my friends here when they visit. You wont be disappointed!!
Great wine, small vineyard atmosphere, friendly staff
The first wine club that we joined when we moved to VA in 2015, and still our favorite winery. We love the staff - they remember our names and are especially fond of our toddler. Its a peaceful spot, and we frequent the location all year round. Great wines, especially the merlot. Lovely view from the picnic tables. Generous wine club benefits!
Loudon Countys oldest winery mixes an intimate tasting environment with bold, old-world flavors. The property boasts gorgeous views and ample space for guests to enjoy a glass after tasing at the bar. We visited with five guests and worked our way through the Reserve tasting in about 30-45 minutes. This is a must-visit in the region!
Nice hidden winery away from the more corporate Stone Tower. No weddings and good wine with a very friendly and attentive staff!
Oldest winery in Loudoun County! Very good wines, with generous pours for a modest tasting fee! Rustic chic tasting room. Staff was very knowledgeable and informative.
AMAZING customer service. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped us, it was months ago we went. But she was very informative and the wines were very good. It is a smaller winery in a secluded area, it is pet friendly.
We got there right when they closed. They offered to stay open late for us and it was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to return!
Nice, relaxing winery. The wines are all good. We love coming here in the winter for their wedding soup. A nice, quiet, and relaxing afternoon of good food and wine.
Awesome little vineyard with good wines. $12 for 8 tastings, can’t beat that price. Have a cool little loft that’s great for enjoying a nice glass of wine.
Its a bit of a drive from the main roads, but its worth the drive! I prefer reds, but their steel barrel chardonnay is tasty. My favorite is their chambourcin.
Loved the personal attention I received from Dee during my chocolate and wine pairing tasting today. Best benefit was a 10% military discount I received on my purchase of four wines.
Always a good time. beautiful location. Wines never disappoint.
Loved the tour and all the information given about albarino wines. Staff is exceptional.
Getting to the winery is a bit of a hidden route (depending on which way you go, its a loooong dirt road), but once you get there you are well rewarded. The wines are very good as well as diversified. There are lovely mountain views and even a couple of small hiking trails.
Small and homey. Great service from Laura. The truffle and wine pairings were great.
Excellent small winery. Cozy and relaxing environment. Great views!
Pros: Historic Winery, Friendly Staff, Good Range of Wines, Nice Area, Winery Events, Chocolate PairingCons: Small, Average Wines, Cramped AtmosphereHistory:The vineyards at Willowcroft date back to the early part of the modern viticulture era of Virginia. I was told during my tasting that this is the oldest winery in Louden County and possibly the sixth oldest in Virginia. The area and location give off a classic and older feel than some of the newer wineries in the area.Review:I will start by stating that I arrived at this winery a little late in the day and went when it was cold, windy, snow on the ground, and wasnt able to fully appreciate this winery like I would have. The small parking area was filled with cars for a fondue event they were hosting. The tasting area wasnt too crowded due to the timing, a few couples and people finishing up. The tasting room, located in a barn like building, is somewhat small, not a great area for larger groups if youre wanting to sit down after the tasting. I was unable to see the area outside area, but over-all this didnt appear to be as big as most of the wineries in the Northern Virginia area.I was met and greeted by Lydia. I strongly recommend having her as a server as shes polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. She explained the options and she came to a wine and chocolate pairing (RECOMMENDED) with all of their wines and some chocolates from a local area vendor.I personally think the wines were average and not exactly something I wanted to rush to buy or memorable. I enjoyed them for the most part and even decided to have a glass of their Merlot. Some of their wines have won various awards. I feel if I was going to go back, it would be to have another tasting where I can take a little more time and enjoy the wines thoroughly.Overall, I think this winery is a great place to visit, if not for the wines, for the area, friendly staff, and maybe some of their events. It may be a little small from what I was able to see for a large group of 10 or more while its cold, but when it gets warmer the outside, it should help. Lydia really made the experience and if I go back Ill definitely request her. I personally dont think the wines are the best in the area but many people seemed to be enjoying them, so to each their own. I would recommend it to a friend and hope to return in the future.Area: 4Building: 3Service: 4.5Wines: 3Overall: 3.5
