I went here one Saturday in June to walk my then 6 month old lab. I dont know if its more crowded usually, but on this day we seemed to have the whole preserve to ourselves. It was a good mix of wooded trails and meadows, and we spent several hours exploring and lounging around. I parked down the street at a playground because I couldnt figure out the onsite parking situation at Rust and was worried the weather would turn on us. The ponds were pretty grimy with algea so I didnt let Ivy swim but it was a great place to have an easy hike with my pup. Would definitely go back. Just make sure you use bug spray or wear long pants, as unfortunately, but not surprisingly, there were lots of ticks in the grassy trails. The grounds were beautifully maintained, particularly around the house where they host weddings.

Path to pond is paved, which makes for an easy walk. Couple other paths there as well but will require hiking shoes.

Do NOT get this venue if you cant deal with EXTREMELY strict BS and lack of coordination, very very rude managers. Venue itself is unbelievably beautiful.

My pups and I walked all the trails, a total of about 1.7 miles. The meadow trail was very well trimmed and clean. The wooded trails need grooming. The plants are somewhat overgrown into the trails. The pond was nice to see, and so was the vernal pool was interesting to see. There was a wedding there when I was there, and didnt get to see the garden. Highly recommend visiting. There is also a manor there. Not sure if you can tour the inside.Returned to this park a couple years later, its October, no flowers but the garden is still nice to see. The main part of the property where weddings are held is very clean. There is a walkway that leads from the house to the garden and to the white tent where receptions are held. There are 3 portable toilets behind the white tent that can be seen at the entrance of the property. Not sure if they are nice but cant image my wedding guests using a portable toilet in their evening attire. Maybe the toilets are the upgraded version but they dont look big enough to be the upgraded version. Anyway, the trails are better maintained this time than the last time I visited. I enjoyed the hike as much as I did last time. My girls were so tired after the 1.5+ mile hike around the property. There is a small playground/play area for kids but not a full size playground. I enjoyed hiking through the woods the most, and the Meadows has a beautiful view, too.

Good size nature preserve in the heart of the southwest corner of Leesburg in between Loudoun County High School and the west Leesburg exit of route 7. Several trails snake through the woods and around the pond there. Historic manor house available for events such as weddings.

My cousin had his wedding here. It is a very nice place what feels like out in the middle of no where. The tent was a little cold at night but I live in Florida so 70 is cold to me. The staff were all very nice and professional. The house was really nice inside. Overall is a very enjoyable experience.
