This is a nice short hike great for families. It is not a loop trail. Up and back is about 1.4 miles. You can hike past the tower up a hill or down to the water as well. The tower is an old fire look out but is not open and is boarded up.

This was my first time out to the tower and it was worth it! There is a small area to park with a few different trails to get to the tower or surrounding hills. The shortest trail is a about .35 miles from parking lot to the tower, around the lake. The trails are rocky, but overall not bad. The view is great and the tower itself is worth seeing at least once. You can’t get inside the tower or climb to the top. Overall, this is worth seeing if you are in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge!

Excellent hike for all ages. Only took 40 minutes down and back, perfect for the younger ones. Take water and a camera the views are awesome!

Picturesque tower on the side of Jed Johnson Lake. Very good trail from the parking area. Appropriate for hikers from 4-70s.

This was a fun place to take our kids, they liked pretending it was Rapunzels Tower. There are nice clean hiking trails and even though there seemed to be quite a few people it didnt feel crowded.

You cant go into the tower...Its welded shut. The top is infested with wasps...They mostly leave tourists alone, but if you are particularly sensitive to them, keep your distance.

Relatively easy short hike up to the tower. Good view when you get to the top of the lake. It was really windy up top which felt good because of the heat that day. Trail was taken care of and only a very short climb at the end to get to the tower.
