A great museum! Figured this one to be the second best Ive ever been to. Very well put together and had some really nice exhibits. The simulated tornado room is absolutely amazing and is a must see! Take the time to go outside and get pics of the Frisco stream engine train and old passenger train depot. Worth the drive and worth the admission.

This is a great museum to go with family. Lots of hand on activities that adult would enjoy them too. We came a little bit late (Friday at 3pm) and they closes at 5pm but not lot of visitors so we enjoyed every single activities. There are still so much we wanted to explore at this museum. Definitely recommended.

I enjoyed the museum, lots of interactive displays, the tornado alley display was awesome, the girls screamed it gave you just a sense of what going through something like that would be like. The fella in the old trading post really knew his stuff, we spent about an hour in their and the kids really enjoyed it...even as teens lol, sixty bucks for six folks it was worth the trip.

Nice little museum. Has an inside and outside to it. Big enough and enough to see to burn about 2 hours of the day. The admission is reasonable and the building is comfortable to walk around inside of even with all the covid scare. Staff was friendly. Displays are nice and interesting without being too wordy. Kids activities line the edges and second floor.

What a great place, with all of the hands on activities your kids will love it. The tornado simulator maybe a bit much for younger children but as for the rest its a must. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The souvenir store was a bit small and as a result it didnt offer much. Overall its a place where learning is fun.

We enjoyed this museum immensely. I think we read every little detail thats inside this museum. And we are glad that they where open during Labor Day. The gift shop has a lot of interesting finds. Bought some really cool shirts. And some dream catchers. Overall a great day to learn about how Oklahoma was millions of years prior to present day.

Awesome place! Family oriented. It has very knowledgeable employees. What impressed me the most was the tornado simulator. It is a “shelter” where you go in just as you would around here. It is intense, so I wouldn’t go in with very young children. It can be scary. Also, lots of interactive games for kids. It reminds me of a children’s museum, but it also has very interesting things to learn for the parents. A must visit.

This is one of the best hidden treasures of Lawton. There is so much to play and explore here. My kids could come here repeatedly and not get bored. Everything is hands on, made for children to learn and explore. Comfy chairs are placed throughout which makes it pleasant for parents. Staff was friendly, too!

Really great museum, very informative and entertaining. The exhibit about the tornado outbreak in, I believe, 1978 or 79 was jaw dropping. If you go, you have to sit down and listen to the heart wrenching stories and with the effects and the replica basement you are in, its incredibly immersive. I had goose bumps. All the exhibits are very educational, especially for someone who has lived on the east coast my entire life. The outside exhibits are equally well done. A must if youre in or around Lawton. One of the better museums Ive been to. Id give 10bstars if they were available.

This museum was truly awesome. We didnt even get through the entire thing before the children were too tired to learn anymore. The staff was awesome and they also offer discounts to people who are low income and receive snap benefits. (which I thought was very awesome) Great place to take kids eager to learn.

Visiting my son stationed here he wanted to take his 4 year old niece. You could spend hours here and be entertained the whole time. My favorite was the tornado simulator and the newspaper origin exhibit. The mini settlement area literally felt like you stepped back in time. The building and creating areas were most fun for the 4 year old. She really had a great time. We spent $37.00 total for entry fee. Military discounts applied. Theres also age 62 and up discount. Its a great time for the whole family.

Really infomrative if you are new to the area, including a tornado simulator which was pretty cool. Also had a descent sized childrens educational / science portion which would be great for those with kids.

Wonderfully educational and fun. I usually loathe our museum trips but this one was stellar. We discovered anatomy of bison, made our own leather art and stamps, explored settlements and ways of life, learned hands on about wind turbines, and the tornado basement simulator was absolutely accurate, though many Oklahomans can tell you that.

A lot to see and do!Being able to take apart a bison and discuss how Native Americans used every piece was an interesting hands-on activity. My favorite part was the tornado simulation room - I have never seen anything like it. A native of Oklahoma, I have been in and around several tornados, and it is lifelike. However, if you have a fearful kid, don’t take them - totally freaked my daughter out (6); my 4-year-old son caught on and could handle it, but after asking if tornados were really “in this world,” and being told yes, he proceeded to pray to God to take them “out of this world.” You can lasso a cow, go shopping for items in a grocery store, make your own brand, practice working with leather, dig on a cite, play with sand and see how it affects the area geographically (my kids’ favorite), build parachutes, and much more! I wish there had been a monitor or two to help us in the hands-on STEM room (like at the OKC museum); would have been helpful for us less science-minded folks to have some guidance (hence the 4 stars).
