A great frisbee golf course is in sight! Just find the goal chains. Beautiful nature is visible in the trees, duck pond, and slightly rising hills. There are paths for walking, riding, and skating. Theres outdoor entertainment far and wide. Enjoy!

Beau park that has a nice walking trail to get plenty of exercise. There is a huge playground that is mostly covered. There is a splash pad. There is a lake to fish at. There are covered picnic tables too. The best part are all of the cute prairie dogs around!

Great park with a good running/walking track. Nice pond, picknick areas, and play areas for small children. Perfect place to visit for lights at Christmas.

Its beautiful and has a lot of space to run around freely and your able to walk around and theres a duck pond and theres space for prairie dogs to run around on their own and you can ride bikes through the parks and other areas and theres a splash pad with communal bathrooms all around the park. The park also hosts festivals and other parties each year

Fun park. The chip monks or whatever are cute. Tons of pokemon go stops. Definitely a great place worth your time in lawton

Clean and safe. 2 bathrooms with one of the bathrooms its just one stall and the door can be locked. Track is in repair on the southern part going downhill and is marked by cones. . Leash laws apply and dogs are permitted on the dirt track. Water fowl (ducks, geese and swan are pretty much year round. This is the safest place to jog in town.

My go to, to get outside and walk. I enjoy the area.wish they would fix the waterfall. But hey. Other than that. Great area for the family with plenty of picnic tables, park, splash pad, and lake. Plus has a museum there also.

Clean park accessible and extremely kid friendly. Has a walk path. Has a nice lake to use and just very cute to get out and stretch legs out.

Great park in Lawton. Well kept, wide, trails. A pretty well kept disc golf course. Plenty of benches along the trail, some in shade and some not. The war memorials were beautiful and well kept. I overall felt safe walking through the park during the day. Look forward to seeing the light show during the holidays.

Stopped here on our way through town when visiting friends. Great place to stretch our legs and the dogs loved it. Busy as heck but it was the weekend. Most dogs were on leashes. Kids playing. Nice park.

Had a great time with the kiddos here today! We sat in one of the picnic areas and ate then played in the huge park! Definitely the best park in Lawton! Child friendly and plenty of room to run around!

I love Elmer Thomas ️ the fact that it is so spacious & they continue to let the precious little prairie dogs live in peace It’s beautiful with the pond & those crazy geese, a couple different playgrounds for kiddos! It has a splash pad & a sidewalk all around the whole park to walk on. Its a great spot for all kinds of things! I love it!It just needs a little paint job on some of the pavilions, little maintenance, knock a couple wasp nests down, BOOM but theres no such thing as perfect, I think Elmer Thomas is pretty great!

Ok, the gophers are cute until you step in a hole. Wide open park area. Pond. Family oriented. City events are fun here.

Wish the bathrooms were open til park closes.Didn’t know parks closed til a cop came by one night some years ago when we stopped to enjoy takeout in the night environment. Don’t like that parking spots get blocked off for Christmas decorations that need replacing.

The park is very clean. Several playground areas for kids, and the walking trail is great. You get to even enjoy the prairie dogs while there.

This park just keeps getting better and better..love the story walk and new patriotic pavillion!!! Thank you city workers for keeping the grounds maintained.

Elmer Thomas has a nice splash pad for kids, very well maintained and clean. My only complaint this year is they no longer allow drinks inside. Only formula for infants. So you will have to go out to your car, or stand outside the gate to get a drink...even water isnt allowed.

There is so much that is great about this park! It has an amazing playground for the kids, a very nice splash park, a bunch of trees for picnics, running trails, sidewalks that go through a prairie dog village and a beautiful lake. The only negative was when there were geese there was a ton of geeses droppings on the ground and that was temporary. It is our favorite place in lawton after being here for a little more than a month.

It was a nice day out there I just sat around with my homegirl and be talked about everything. Yes Elmer Thomas park was a cool spot to chill at with no someone y you trying be with.

Walked the trail and watched the prairie dogs being adorable. Pretty awesome.

I love this park. I always take my dog Zoe for a walk there. She loves getting out for some good exercise and fresh air. I think that goes for the both of us. They keep the park looking very clean and the grass is always nicely manicured. We love watching the ducks and geese as well as the prairie dogs. Thank you.

So many ducks and geese and the ability to feed them.. the access to the pond is not very appealing. But cant get good pictures of the fountain.. hard to get in and out of cuz the ducks and geese are located in the only area that is a skinny parking lot with too many people trying to get in and also feed them.. .. but overall pretty to look at.. thanks

Best place in Lawton to take dogs for a walk, go for a jog, walk with a stroller, take the kids to the park, or ride a bike or scooter. Nice well kept sidewalks, pond, Park benches and picnic tables. Wish the rest of Lawton had complete sidewalks (anywhere) like they do here. Could use new grills at the picnic sites and an overhaul to the restroom facilities. But at least facilities are available!

This park is sure not big in size, but it sure is a really beautiful hangout place for families, it welcomes birds as well as ducks and geese its definitely a must see

It was a nice walk. Id like to see a few dog waste areat with a trash can and baggies. Id even donate to get a few.

Trash is everywhere!! Household bags of trash, socks, diapers, beer cans, pot containers, cigarette butts... the trash can also had no bottom. The toddler park is run down and damaged. I couldnt even let my baby play.

Well last time I played disc golf out there there was signage telling you where the next tee pads where so was a lil lost today on the new baskets

I loved this place. We saw birds, ducks and squirrels. It is really nice here to walk.

It is a nice place to walk around and has many paths that are interconnected. The place is good for walks, running, or taking the kids to feed the geese.

Not many trees, city kills prairie dogs at certain times of the year. Cars are loud and annoying. People do not give space when passing. No working water.

Great park, plenty of parking, clean family areas, places to picnic and barbecue. Lake has fish but it’s pressured by the volume of people fishing. Play grounds are new and clean and baseball areas look well kept too.Lastly, the park has a prairie dog town near the main entrance. Don’t worry it doesn’t interfere with the family areas, you won’t see them around the picnic grounds or by the playgrounds. Kids love walking the park paths and trails while watching prairie dogs run across their area and squeak at you passing. Just remind the kids dogs are wild and not to interact; don’t feed them either.

There is no shade at the park and a supervisor at the splash pad. Highly recommend this place.

Its a cool park to do various things with the family, but if you want to go walking along the trails and have to use a bathroom, dont count on it. The bathrooms always seem to be locked.

My kids love this place. Its clean. There is a variety of things to do. I love that there is handicap swings available also. The cannon brings a little reality of history to our youth. As an active parent I really enjoy the path that is for walkers, runners, or bikers to use. It makes getting fit more accessible. Also the things they recently painted for parents to walk with their kids and get them to interact with the details and parents is amazing and beneficial to both parents and the children.

Elmer Thomas Park has been my saving Grace since this pandemic, end of the world, zombie apocalypse thing hit. Unfortunately my place of employment was directly affected and I have a lot of time on my hands. The park has a 2 mile concrete track and off road dirt track options as well. They have play grounds, water parks, fishing picnics and other stuff. I like that I can take my dog out on the dirt track, not have to worry about his pawpaws getting burnt on the concrete. Then I come back by myself or with my 17 yo son and speed walk the track. Its nice to get outta the house and the scenery takes your mind off of the physical torture your layin on yourself.

Very clean and well maintained. You walk on cement pathways. Be careful to walk on the correct side and and watch out for bicycles and joggers. There is a Vietnam Memorial also. You can fish at a real small lake called lake Helen located in the park. There are also covered tables and grills for family barbecues. Highly recommend for family members and friends.

I like to go to Elmer Thomas Park for many different reasons, whether its for the SOS run, the trail of lights, the firework display, picnics, to feed the ducks and even to pick the shipment for the food pantry because its used as a drop site for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma City. Its always clean and quiet. It seems to be the park that this community relies on for food, fellowship and family fun.And the Prairie dogs may be a nuisance to the neighbors to the park, theyre so cute to me. They are the way I can tell when spring is coming.

Didnt get to check out the entire place. From what I seen and could observe it is a very nice place, great for kids. Museum and playgrounds, also track/trails.. and of course the cute little prairie dogs, I came in April and seen lots of little babies!

A great place to fish or feed the ducks/geese. Large play area and splash pad for the kiddos. I love the Childrens Memorial Garden!! Always A lot of different community activities going on. Dogs are not allowed on the sidewalk but there is a local dog park in town. Disk golf course is ok. Do wish the grass was kept up a little more in the summer. Fun times for everyone!!!!

Brought our granddaughter here to play and had a blast. An amazing amount of items to climb on, slide down, explore, and learn with. The playground is easily accessible for parents also. The entire ground is shaded so the sun didnt cause the equipment to overheat. Absolutely an incredible play area.

Kids can play all day or go fishing with family here. Great place for exercise and family time. Has a playground for the kids to play on benches and a fishing pond for parents and kids alike to just enjoy and sit around on a weekend.

Very cool park, my son and nieces enjoy going here for picnics and to hang out with the ducks at the pond or to peek at the prairie dogs! One of our favorite places in Lawton.

Excellent park and walking area and you get to see the amazing prairie dogs. They are so adorable and can feed the geese.

The scenery is quite nice especially at night when none is there it has an air to help relive stress and prepare you for the next day.

Enjoyed the lights with family. As my sister told me once...always remember that confirmation of three after I was baptized she said will be forever and an eternity ... that is why I chose three stars.

Very nice spray pad for the kids a big lake to feed the ducks and fish, best of all is the snow ice van that comes, BOMB!!! There is also a disc golf course but beware of the water hazard lol. Seriously, maybe you might see me out there. Love it

Good place to relax and enjoy yourself. Feeding the ducks can be crazy. They swamp you so bring lots of bread.
