Have gone here since my family and I moved here in 2004. Love the place, holds a ton of great memories. Its changed a bit since back then, but its still one of the best parks in Vegas. You can even go here to fish, if you dont feel like driving all the way to lake mead!
Theres a lot of great things about Sunset Park, places to walk, really nice playgrounds, and the pond with the ducks is very cool. The homeless population and the bathrooms are a little scary. If you plan to eat at one of the picnic tables bring something to wash them off with or towels and tablecloth for the picnic table. The bathrooms arent horrible but you probably want to take some Clorox wipes before sitting on the toilet. Take hand sanitizer as theres no soap to wash with. Stay alert why your kids play or as you walk due to homeless population, most are harmless and nice people, but there is a lot of them in one never knows. other than that its a great Park
Im here on a regular basis and always a show from the birds at the water ... very laid back and clean for the most part and the fishing seems to be good ... definitely plenty of photography opportunity if thats your thing (the sunsets )..... the RC boating is always fun.... could use some more charger ports ... love it still though
This place is amazing! Huge outdoor park with large duck pond. This place has basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, softball fields, different cabanas to reserve and throw parties, tons of people enjoying life. And then theres this splash park for the kids to run wild. Wonderful wonderful place!!
It was nice but the thing I didnt like at all was so many adults and children not wearing masks. Is the park supposed to enforce the wearing of masks or not? I wont go again if its not safe for my grand child.
A very beautiful and quiet place. It is very restful. Relaxing. A good place for family and friends to spend time together. A nice place for romantic walks as well
It’s a nice park to go to if you want to be alone. I come here on my lunch breaks and just enjoy the scenery in my car or in a chair I keep in my trunk. It’s spacious, there’s multiple parking lots.
I grew up near the park when it was in its first stages and infact regularly visited especially when they had the rec pool nearest eastern ave. So sad that its no longer there. Yet i cant let that take away from the rest of the beauty and recreational things you can take advantage of around the parks large and luscious landscape. A special thanks to park maintenance and beautification team for their wonderful efforts and hard work at making certain the park is available for everyone to enjoy.
OMG this park is like a hidden oasis. Beautiful man made lake to walk around. Incredible wild life mostly birds. Places to relax and chill. Some single vendor carts making there way around park to serve those that would like a snack or a flavored icee. Plenty of shade, picnic tables, and Restrooms if needed.
Huge area for your puppies to run and play. Several seating areas for you to relax. A couple different watering holes. There is shade and sun. Downfall is the dirt. It is all dirt and wood chips. Expect your paw friends to be dusty when you leave here.
I love this park! Something for everyone, especially the kiddos. Splash pad is perfect with enough shade to make it great in most spots. Lots of stuff for kids to climb all over, obstacles, swings, and theres multiple spots to go to. Great park.
Today was really windy. But my doggie and i love the set up in this pen. Tables are at the front but you can find a seat on the rocks set up around the entire pen. Nice folks here. Not a bunch of political chat here. And people actually picked up their dog poop. Men too!We enjoyed it
The park is beautiful and laid out well. Absolutely something to do for everyone. HOWEVER, I would NEVER feel comfortable/ safe going there alone as a female.
Love the park. Lots of construction but that just means they are making it better!
A nice park, huge. A little getaway while still in the city. When I was homeless I loved in the park, now I go visit some of the homeless I met while there and try to motivate them. Its nice to not be homeless anymore.
Always peaceful and has a big pond. Its a pretty good sized park. They always hold the renaissance fair here and other events. So I have fond memories with this park.
Lovely! A great place to get out and enjoy the fresh air. In the mornings and evenings in the summer its even bearable with all the grass, tread and small like. Miles of running/walking trails too! Dont miss it if you live nearby. A great little oasis in the city (youre right near the strip and airport but would never know it! )
The park was great. We went to the playground on north side. Nature/wood/rock themed. Tree slides, tree house like structure, rocks, and tree root climbers all around. It even has Mommy and swings for toddler to adults, and a tire swing. There are lots of real trees, so about half shade/half sun. Lots of places to sit.The splash pad in right there in the middle. It was very small but has lots of dumping and spraying features. Kids who love to be soaked and water dumped on their heads will love it.
Great for playing Pokémon go and Frisbee golf. Has three jungle gyms for the kids and great walking trails.. also has wildlife which is pretty cool
50 years in this valley. We raised 3 or four Human litters here and now have 3 great grandchildren here (as well as 1 in Arizona & 1 in Nebraska).A wonderful place to take the kids, dogs, etc. An urban oasis!Love me a Ralleys (big) tuna melt! Also, very sweet onions on the rings.
Our 6 month old 7 pound puppy loves this park. If you go, go slightly before dark and stay as long as you like. Way more dogs at night and she has a blast. Leash off. Under 35 pound and over 35 in separate areas.
Park is ok. People need to learn how to throw away their trash in one of the hundred trash cans. Especially the parking lot. Dont feed the ducks. Youre killing them with bread. It gives them angel wing. It looks like a broken wing but it is caused by malnutrition from the bread. There is plenty of natural food in the pond. Just wanted to post a few photos of the monster carp I caught during October. Sorry about the shoes but I needed to get some scale in the photos. Each shoe is 13 inches long. Most are common carp and one koi/carp hybrid averaging from 20 to 30 pounds. I am 100 percent convinced that this pond could break the state record of 35 lb 3 oz.
Was very nice for a public park. The pond had plenty of fish in it They really enjoy hot dogs and worms not so much with the artificial lures. Overall good park easy to get to.
A lot of construction going on right now. It looks like some major upgrades are coming though. Once everything is done I will update to be more accurate.
Its beautiful. My little Chihuahua had a great time. Its a very big Park with numerous things going on all the time. A small lake with ducks. Not sure about grills. I think they were banned anyway due to the heat. Just have to picnic. That would be great as well. This is a must in Vegas.
This a a huge park! There are parts that are great and others not so great. The dog park, ball courts/fields, playgrounds, sand volleyball, and disc golf course are good. The pond could use some TLC. But the walking and biking paths are great. They have spots you can reserve for private use with tables and BBQ. To many homeless people and all the restrooms are gross!
Nice city park. Ducks and geese at the lake. Volleyball, basketball and open spaces. Fun for all!
Probably one of the best, cleanest and well maintained parks in the last vegas area. Great place for families and friends to enjoy themselves with my accommodations and scenery.
Huge park, I was lucky enough to catch my Kundalini yoga class via Zoom one night... as I was going to be late due to traffic.... little did I know, it was right in the middle of a disc golf course and Pokémon Hunt of some kind on the phone app.... Such a great experience! Loved it! All of it!
Fishing, feather watching, social distance grilling and picnic areas, lots of sun and shade spots. Walking paths, bike trails, a bunch of playground stations spread throughout the gigantic Sunset Park. Fun family spot or buddy hangout place.
The people there were lovely and the dogs were as well. It was my dogs first time at a dog park and it was great time.
Love this park and the ambience, great place to bring our puppy! It is nice to see families playing games and having barbecues in the park again. :)
I like the convenience of this park being right by shopping. And theres a norm of people being polite and refilling the water buckets for the dogs regularly. Nice, clean, pretty park!
Its a great family park.It offers a terrific kids zone complete with a water area. And as far as Vegas is concerned it offers the best place to go fishing.
Its quite a big park. Have lots of space to move around. Pretty safe, have a few homeless people but they dont bother anybody
The new, covered, play area is reminiscent of and is an homage to a barn that could have existed on a farm on the same spot in the past, and its play items resemble. and are an homage to, the machinery the farm may have needed to be supported. If you didnt know, you might never know.Tip of the hat to all involved.
Sunset Park is beautiful it has gotten very big they have expanded baseball fields theres so many now its just a huge Park. Beautiful as ever.
It is good place for picnic, relaxing, walking my dog and I love looking at the lake.
I really like this dog park. And Hunny loves to go. I did have an altercation with another owner that did not care that her dog was too aggressive with other dogs but when her pup got too aggressive with my puppy, I had to intervene. After that, I tried another dog park, but didnt like it, so back to Sunset dog park we go.
Very nice and well kept dog park
Open areas remodeled I havent been there is years, and really lots of room for maintaining distance
Great place to bring your kids... feed the ducks and fish at there big pawn. Allot of space for dogs and athletic activities. Very active park even after hours u can still catch a good time at sunset park one of the most family friendly parks in vegas.
Went to splash pad, not really any place for adults to sit. But kids love it. Playground is right there in splash pad area. Hard to keep kids from the small playground. Not sure why Sunset park, doesnt have a pool. The park is big enough.
Came here with a group of friends to get a few holes of disc golf in. The course was pretty good, but it is under construction, so we could not find the hole 1 tee. The assumption was it was in the construction area. The other negative is that there are many homeless around the park and sometimes they are lounging on the course. Otherwise, it was a fantastic time albeit on a very hot and windy day.
The park is pretty nice but when I went there I didnt catch one fish and I tried every lure and bait I have was there over 4 hours. Aside from the fishing the park was great
Nice park with a large pond w fishing access and walking track. Also has Frisbee golf, play areas, picnics tables, baseball fields, volley ball courts and basketball court. Some of the park was closed for renovations
Nice large park, many things to do. Lots of space for everyone. The trees help with the heat. If youre looking for a little getaway throughout the day.. this place can be it.
One of my favorite parks in Vegas. Covers such a larger area with so many things to do.
Lovely place to bring the family and friends, go for walks, jogs, and runs, BBQs, fishing, and an all around relaxing place. Free admission and free parking. Its also next to a police station which is nice as well. :)
Very nice park. Duck and geese are fun to watch at the lake
Love this park the only thing Im starting to notice is a lot of homeless people now making it their home. It doesnt feel safe sometimes especially after 6pm
24 hole disc golf course that is one of the best in town!! Along with all the activities a park could offer. Watch out for the gofers.
If my dog loves it. I love it.
The park was nice plenty of room to social distance. I am just confused as to why the basketball courts had no hoops but all other sports fields were available.
It is fun I cant find the water park tho
Its huge! Great for families. Nature walk, bbqs, fishing, water playground and wide open space to run around and do whatever.
Sunset park is and always wi be that park that you can just take your kids watch them play with all the other kids. Once your donewith the kids playing and getting wet in the water park and having fun then you get to.feed the ducks walk around and just get a great scenery. The trail is just enough after you walk the whole park you stumble across the trail and theres lots of wild animals different ones that Ive never seen. Overall Im giving sunset a 5 my kids are 7,7 and 10 and thats the first park that comes to their mind.i gi e the 5 for the kids because they just LOVE sunset park Ive been going since 2005 now my kids get to experience it. Great park. Fun family friendly and lots 2 do.
Always making improvements around the park. Fairly clean. Lots of things for families to do here.
Spur of the moment visit. Havent been in years. Very different than before.I wont count it against them but there were major renovations being made or construction going on so a big portion was fenced off. But progress does tend to inconvenience things a bit but in the end it will hopefully be worth it.However, most if not all areas of the grass available was not fit to walk on. I almost broke an ankle walking across one section. Its all torn up with most of the grass gone or big chunks of dirt spread around. And what parts were still grass had animal feces everywhere. (This was NOT the parks fault)But all in all it was a nice visit. Ill just wait a bit before going back.
As always so much fun to fish
It is big offers a running dirt track, also has a bicycle one. About three children playing area one with water for summer super hot days! Lots of tres, dog area. Super nice!
Lovely park. It is apparently one of the largest parks in the Las Vegas area. Sporting fields and courts include softball, tennis, basketball, volleyball and disk golf. There is a pond (its about 1.4 acres / 0.567 hectares surface area and about 10 feet / 3 meters deep) with year round fishing too.
I went for the 1st annual Through Their Eyes 5k run/walk for survivors of trafficking.... Great experience, beautiful setting! I enjoyed the scenery, and the park is HUGE! From.the volleyball court with sand, to the trail that the 5k was, just BEAUTIFUL!
Good place. Lots of kids during peak times
It is a very nice big park to walk around. The ducks are all over pond, and you can fish there also. You can play all kinds of sports.
Nice clean park. Lots of nice people I went in the morning and felt very safe there. I also a lot of baby quail and rabbits and I think small children would enjoy it. Trails are paved and easy to walk. Wheelchair and stroller should have no problem getting around.
The park is cool, but alot of homeless and the bathrooms are pretty sketchy. Hanging out by the water is pretty cool, but keep your head up walking around frisbee golf, dont get hit!
My favorite place to take kids on off days. They need lightss turned on at playground at night.
Always a Great place to bring my doggies when we visit Las Vegas. Large area for running around and well maintained.
Sunset Park has it ALL! For me Im all about the more than 3.5mi. of winding Trails, connecting Pathways, ending with the tranquility of Sunset Lake. Theres an assortment of free roaming ducks, geese, swans, various birds who make their home there. All pets must be leashed but there are also designated Dog Park areas for off leash runs. The Park is wheelchair accessible. Plenty of free parking in all areas of the Park. Also... Playground, Picnic, Baseball areas, Basketball, Volleyball & Tennis courts, even a fitness course to follow. As a side note, theres plenty fast restaurants nearby.
Love this park ! I prefer to go early in the morning but went in the sunday afternoon to exercise. It was a little busy but the park is so big it is enough space for everyone.:)
Sunset park along with all the other parks deserve a shout out!! While everyone was complaining about being locked in their house during covid the parks stayed open for the most part. And EVERYONE forgets that there are workers there busting their butts picking up YOUR trash keeping them clean and safe. They never took a day off. And to all you dog park people, good for you for taking care of your pet, put you need to learn to pick up after them much like picnic people need to pick up after themselves! And FYI these poor workers dont work for you so back off and say thank you!!
Love the park but no one wears a mask and zero social distance
I love this park! My kiddos do too! We can spend hours here just running around. Great for kids of all ages ️
Really cool park. Nice place to sit and enjoy the view. They do have picnic tables with covers on them so when its raining (which it was the day we were there) you can still enjoy they park. And there are plenty of geese and ducks to see, as they just walk around like they own the place....I kinda think they do!
Sunset park is like Vegas Central Park. Its very easy to get lost here and forget you live in a desert
Great location and awesome but restrooms are like prison toilets.
Love this place. I try to take a walk here early in the morning a few times a week. I love the sand dunes. They have jack rabbits and quail and roadrunners. We saw a snake slither away off the walking path. There is also a park, a lot of grass and trees, basketball courts, and a huge pond that you can fish at. If you’re in Vegas, I highly recommend going there.
I love this park but they definitely need to clean up the lake.
I love this park. From walking trails, and community events to watch rc boats in lake, people fishing around the lake. Camping out at ren faire and playing Pokemon with our friends and community this park is awesome.
A great place to think and wander
Great park to go for a walk or run! People fish here as well and there is lots of space. It is kept clean and felt generally inviting.
Bathrooms were in need of update other than that we had a great day
Park needs to be cleaned more frequently but other than that very enjoyable for my 3 year old
I take my son here alot good place
Right now a lot of construction going on. Dont know exactly what they are doing. Still quite a bit of open space though.
This is actually the worst fishing pond I’ve ever been to, it is like a casino you waste your time and money their expecting to win (catch) something but you never do. I have been researching about this park, their fish, and what bait you need and nothing works. So if your coming to Vegas to fish do not fish here please!
This park is awesome! Has a nice paved trail that meanders around the wildlife scenery. Very natural and real looking, like a movie set. It is peaceful. There is a port-a-potty.
Always have loved this park since I was 3 years old, visited hundreds of times in the past 47 years, improvements made over last 10 years are awesome
This is a great park to bring family and friends. Theres always people even late at night which feels nice because you dont feel like your alone in this huge park. My kids love it
I love these park. It brings you too much peace
