Wonderful spot hidden in the urban landscape. It is also fascinating that it serves a very important purpose in filtering storm water from city streets before the water reaches the river.Lots of ducks if you like wildlife.

Small but important Wetlands as it was created to filter street rainwater runoff by providing a series of cascading ponds that allow settling of solids. The area flows over limestone raising the pH and is used to irrigate a nearby golf course.

Nice get away in nature nestled in Lansing Township. Directly across from Groesbeck golf course. We live in Groesbeck and enjoy going for walks in the summer time and Tollgate Wetlands trail always seems to be a of our destination. Watching the ducks and often deer sightings make it entertaining on a summers evening. The asphalt trail seems to be well maintained for walkers and jogging. If you live in the Groesbeck hood Id highly recommend checking it out.

It was a gorgeous day at the wetlands today! The ducks and geese are on their nests, in hiding. The coy are back, with so few ducks on the ponds. A long-legged, solo crane was catching fish, in slow motion. Song birds were filling the air, especially beautiful in the semi-quiet.

Nice place for a quick walk. Beautifully paved paths that loop around the water. Dog friendly and plenty of benches. Bring bug repellant since gnats are robust here, and mosquito season is right around the corner.

It is always a relaxing stroll around the ponds. My children love to watch the ducks dipping down to eat and sticking their tails up into the air. They search for the egret and blue heron. It is the only place Ive ever seen deer wading chest deep in the water. It is an amazing asset in the neighborhood and an oasis from the urban environment.

Excellent Hidden Gem in the middle of Lansing. This Paved path around a wetland conservation area ( approximately 1 mile loop) is great for walking during all seasons. Not a large Park with no playground but has great nature viewing, and quiet areas to sit and view surroundings.

5 stars simply because of its surprising beautify in such an unexpected area. Park is designed very well, and you can almost forgot youre smack dab in the city. Not much to offer outside of a stroll, duck watching, and the scenic break it offers, but dont let that discourage you from stopping by if youre in the area!

Fantastic place to walk. Ducks a-plenty, and sometimes geese and herons. As far as four-legged critters, the usual squirrels but occasionally deer; Ive seen them jump the fence at the golf course across the street before. Highly recommended as a nice nature excursion near the city.
