Really good the skate park it kinda small but I havent seen more than 5 people at it

Fantastic spot to bring the crew and kids

American Lake is a pretty place to visit especially during the summer months. Its also great to visit in the cooler months. You can fish, swim or boat. Very close to both Ft. Lewis and McCord AFB.

Just really depends on how people behave but it has been safe in peaceful so far but has potential to be dangerous.. Always be aware of your surroundings

Decent sized park, when I was there it was soooooo busy. People everywhere including kids and dogs. It was a nice weekend day, but probably a nice spot on week days.

Nice park. Big open area. Decent restrooms. Small beach access that is clean and right next to fishing dock. Plenty of shade too.

Id like to say this is a nice place to go, but its crowded by 11am on the weekends and it seems the bulk of daily attenant park-goers are not concerned about trashing the place. Despite the park departments best efforts, the park is embarrassingly covered with trash, including discarded clothing (including socks and underwear), bottles, cans, destroyed beach toys and food daily despite the provided trash cans. There are ever-increasing burn-out rings in the parking lot. Several park visitors seem as if they live out of their cars. It does have a public restroom, which seems pretty well maintained, but has obviously been subject to vandalism.

I really dont want to give this place 5 stars because I dont want people to know the place to go!

Not crowded at all. Very nice place to look at the water, boats and people just having fun.

Great for family gatherings. This place has a playground for kids basketball court skate park open field and the lake for swimming.

Clean, warm water. Great for swimming w/dock. /boating. Right off the freeway. Only 10 min away from S. Tac Way/Parkland.

This park is so peaceful,beautiful,fun and enjoyable whenever you can make it out there this park never disappoints you. This park makes Every trip a memorable time.

Big sign that says toxic algae. People still swimming but be careful of swimmers itch.

Its a cool park lots of trees, the grass looks nice great lake view and has a skate park there oh and basketball Court only part that sucks are the restrooms and tables

Beautiful spot for a walk with the dog, a walk down to the water, bring the little ones to burn energy. If youre close by a Quant place for a lunch.

So pretty! Huge lake so beautiful to look at. Perfect to take the family and get out of the house on a nice warm day. Good vibes there. Just people tryin to have a good time. I like that they have a playground for the lil babies. People bbq, listen to music, ride boats, lots of space to lay out. Go check it out!

Harry Todd park has a lot of green space, basketball courts, picnic tables and a playground. Everything is serviceable, but covered in grafitti. There is plenty of parking. Went on a Sunday afternoon for an organization picnic - we brought our own grill. There were definitely some shady folks in their cars in the parking lot, which is one of the reasons I put 3 instead of 4 stars.

Great park to bring your family amd enjoy a great time. Also there are lifeguards so the added security is great. But bring some diving shoes or water proof footwear as there are plenty of rocks to walk on, especially the shallow areas.

This place would be absolutely perfect if you were allowed to have float tubes or rafts In The Swim area. Other than that the water is nice and clear with good beaches.

Always has homeless in the park, people fo donuts broad daylight in the parking lot really a horrible place to have a big park if your not gonna keep it safe. The lakes nice but you can tell the public parks system doesnt take care of the land. Over all poor

Everything about it is fun. The docks to jump off, the playground for kids, also the basketball courts for the family. What is also cool about it is the bathrooms and theres so much parking!

I went here to see if it would be a good spot for a future event, but a murder had just occured there & law enforcement had just finished cleaning up the crime scene. They were on high alert. And the covered shelter was filthy. Very pretty park just in a bad location.

WOW, great public park. Separate areas for swimming, shallow and deep, docks for fishing, fair restrooms, good amount of shade. Nice for an afternoon picnic and quick swim.

Love this park!! It has a baseball field, 2 basketball courts, a tennis court, and huge grass field, BBQ covered areas, boat launch area, play ground, and swimming area.

Visited the pearl to spend some quality time with my grandson. Fed the seagulls, ducks & crows.

Beautiful park right on the water. We attended a regatta and the viewing was perfect for the event. Nice grassy knoll to sit on and look out upon the lake as well. Numerous docking locations and plenty of parking.

VERY VERY GHETTO tons of teens that curse drink smoke and do drugs all out in the open no lifeguard [that i saw even tho has a guard chair for swimmers really needs CLEANING UP i dont feel comfy or safe to bring my 4 & 6 yr old there even tho they love the park itself

Lots of parking, swings in the sun. Great waterfront park with docks and swimming. Shade on hill with a breeze off the water.

Small parking lot but clean

Google directions to the entrance were wrong, it is across from the VFW. Other than that it was a beautiful park with cooking areas and a big toy for the kids to play on up top, and nice beach access to the lake.

Good park and great place to swim. Only problem is the life guards dont allow floaties.

This park is near and dear to my heart. An invaluable spot to the local community, this is a great place to have a big family bbq, go for a swim, kayak or just sit and watch the water.

Harry Todd Park is an amazing place to bring your kids cuz not only do they have a little playground and bathrooms but you can go down onto the docks and a little mini beach! awesome for the kids!

Beach is always dirty. Playground is nice but if you want a nice beach would stay away

My family and I spent the Saturday, the day before Fathers Day, at this park. It was littered with garbage throughout. From the fishing docks to the sports court. The docs and the hill leading up from them are covered in duck poop. There are only two covered shelters and one bbq grill. The tennis court floor is covered in leaves (in the middle of June) and the equipment is in irrepair. This park has potential but is highly neglected.

Its a nice park bbn ignopen fields for aying with your dog or just walking around. It has access to American lake for swimming and has a lifeguard on duty most times.

Good place to take the kids for a swim on a hot day. Except no lifeguards this summer.

Good, upkept facilities. I would say they need more safety signage, and maybe a dog etiquette sign. The docks were covered in goose poop which isnt a huge problem considering thats a natural occurence that cant be helped very much.Would love a shower head to rinse off closer to the beach, otherwise I had a really good experience with friends and family.

Beautiful view of the lake. Heard a few bad things about the people who go there. The park is large, has a dock and a man-made beach. Its a great place to picnic and to bring the kids.

Such a huge potential. But the place need some deep renovations and a lot more attention from the county. You should check it out, it is great.

Great wide open park. Plenty of room for family events and outings. The ball field is great and has the bases. The skate park is in good condition.The beach area is fantastic, not the biggest beach but plenty of dock/beach access for any amount of people.

Location is great, right on American lake. The playground is good too and theres lots of forest to run around in, a basketball court and baseball diamond. BUT theres often trash on the ground and shady people who look like theyre dealing drugs there.

Great park to just go relax and look at the water. Also great for hosting outside birthdays and gatherings.

Besides the treekers talking to me about stealing my rim and catching them taggin up the wall by the beach its a nice spot.. I even caught a bass.

A decent park with fair amenities. Theres some (average park fare, dont expect much) public rest rooms, a gazebo, several charcoal grills, a pier, some benches, a racing track, and I believe a tennis court. For those who are interested, theres one Pokémon gym, one Stop, and a very small nest (2 or 3 spawns). It is generally open to the public dawn to dusk, though I have noticed theyre not wholly good about locking up the gates, so your mileage may vary.

Water is dirty, they were concerned about my service dog being by the water for the fear of her peeing in the water, but werent concerned about the dead fish floating all around the water. They didnt even try to remove them and they where in the area of everyone swimming and very visible. Gross. Once I seen floating human poop

Totally neglected by the City, probably because the city cut this branch of Lakewood off. There is no beach sand on the family beach, but many boulders and jagged rocks for your swimmers feet. Do not enter the water without shoes on or it will be quite painful. Swimming with shoes is not very safe either, though.The islander residents obviously are dumping their yard waste into the lake, as waves of yard waste wash over swimmers like thick green and muddy soup. Lakewood should study Lake Wilderness, Steel Lake, and other community lake parks and improve Harry Todd. It takes a brave soul to live in this neglected paradise, but Tillicum economy needs its few residence. The Lake is why I and others settled here, and we expected the city would step up and restore Harry Todds dream of a safe accessible lake and park for the residents here. Instead, its a neglected sore spot and a discouraging heartache.Oddly, the university got the access and docks, etc they needed to accommodate their rowing needs, yet the needs of we who live here are not even considered by the city. Its clearly the old prejudice of keeping the poor poor - - so moms put shoes on your kids feet when swimming and braving the discomforts of this harshly designed park which is very family UNFRIENDLY.

The best spot on this little island to cool off on hot days! I shoot photos of wild life, ducks and Eagles, boats and sunsets.Nice quiet place at times. Needs more beach space because it does get overcrowded.
