This is amazing shrine. The way goes up to the hill where shrine takes place is so attractive. I walked there, it is not so long way, but if you dont like, they have the small buses to help you get there. With the restaurant and gift store there you can buy some food for yourself and some gift for your relatives

What a beautiful shrine, church, stations and rosary walks; and grounds. We made the 9am Latin Mass on Sunday, been a lot of years for me, when I was an alter boy in the 60s. Lots of photos. Great gift shop and cafe as well. We spent 3 hours here and could easily double that. The whole area is built on a wonderful, treed steep hillside. They offer cart rides to those that need them.

Beautiful buildings and picturesque hillside makes the half mile walk to the church well worth it. The visitors center had some very nice people that helped us out when we arrived. There was a mass when we visited so we could not go in the main church during the service but the visit was still well worth it.

Beautifully manicured grounds with lovely flowers everywhere. It is a very holy place. Quiet and peaceful. Celebrated Holy Mass at the magnificent main church. Enjoyed the rosary walk, the candle chaple, and the life garden. There are a few picnic tables to have lunch under a tree after walking around the serene grounds. We felt the presence of our blessed Mother Mary surrounding is while we were there. Thank you for creating this prayerful shrine!

This is a beautiful, peaceful place to come to whether you are religious or not. The walk up to the shrine was paved and they had carts that would take you up if you didnt want to walk. They have a great onsite restaurant to if you want a bite to eat. Great experience and I will be coming back and bringing my friends and family.

We stopped on our way back to MN. I have to say it was my favorite unexpected stop. I was raised Catholic, but no longer practice. This didn’t stop me from enjoying its beautiful grounds and delicious restaurant. This entire place is so calming and just simply spectacular to walk around(especially in the fall). All the staff was very helpful and incredibly pleasant to talk with about the history of the place. After our walk around the grounds, we were pleased to see they had a full restaurant. Lucky for us, it was a buffet of German/American food(Octoberfest time). The food was delicious. The dining room was stunning to sit and have a meal. The server was nice. The food was rather expensive, but worth it. We even bought several cakes and pies to go.Again, this unexpected stop turned into my favorite part of the weekend. Regardless if you’re religious or not, you’ll enjoy the grounds and people immensely.

Wife insisted we stop here while in La Crosse so we did. Its a great place to visit and if youre in good shape you can hike up the path to the church; otherwise they have golf carts that run up and down the path. We took a gold cart up and then hiked back down. There are places to stop along the way so I suggest walking at least part way.

We went to Mass last weekend, the fourth Sunday of Advent. What a powerful and awe inspiring experience. The music and choir along with the reverence and mystery of the Mass was an uplifting experience. The priest gave a homily that brought tears to my eyes. How powerful. How sublime. I am so thankful to have experienced this and to have this only an hour or so from my home. Many thanks to all there. Thanks be to God and thanks be to the Blessed Mother. We also ate there and the meal was perfect. What an amazing place.

The love and peace of the Blessed Mothers presence can be felt throughout the grounds and in the buildings. It is really beautiful and the staff couldnt be kinder or more thoughtful. We called ahead since our mom cant walk very far, and they were waiting for us so that they could bring her up the hill in their golf cart. We cant wait to go back.

Peaceful shrine south of La Crosse, easy to find as one can follow signs off Interstate 90.Visitor center with restrooms, shop and cafe are at the bottom of the hill. A walk up toward the Shrine winds past a small chapel and several gardens before reaching the Shrine. For those unable to complete the walk, theres a cart. The grounds and buildings, along with the Shrine itself are well taken care of and peaceful, quiet, pretty places. The complex is great in both summer and winter. Mass and confession are offered on occasions throughout the week, check schedule.

A day of pilgrimage to the Shrine is always a beautiful day with Our Lady - no matter what season! My walk up the hill is always exciting and my walk down the hill at the end of the day is always one of extreme peace in my heart and soul. The healing graces of confession, the beautiful Sacrifice of the Holy Mass, lunch at the Culina, outdoor stations and rosary walk quickly fill the day. Ending with the holy hour consisting of adoration/rosary/vespers and more led by the Friars tops the day of grace. I highly recommend it to all!!

The architecture was beautiful! There were marvelous pieces of artwork in the church. The staff was very knowledgeable and generally nice. This is a shrine, so you need to be respectful at all times. They ask that you dress respectfully (jeans and a shirt are fine), respect others, respect the site, and do not bring pets along with you--unless it is a service animal. The trails here can be a little steep, but they do have carts that take people up to the church if needed. If Im ever in the La Crosse area again, I would definitely revisit the church. It is absolutely breathtaking.

Beautiful Catholic shrine in a beautiful setting. Dedicated in 2008 by Cardinal Burke, founder of the shrine. The architecture is breathtaking. One of the most beautiful churches in the Midwest. The walk to the shrine is equally beautiful, especially in the Fall. Dont miss the devotional areas around the shrine dedicated to different saints and to the unborn. The Franciscans Friars of the Immaculate are in charge of the pastoral care of the shrine. Holy and hardworking priests who celebrate the sacraments very reverently.

Whatever I write about this wonderful place can not do it any worthy justice. All I can say is that if you find yourself nearby or feel a desire to make a pilgrimage to this site...do it! You will most certainly find your Blessed Mother waiting for you there, and the beauty of this place only serves to remind you of her unyielding love for you! Jesus humbled himself and desired to dwell in the Virgins womb, and how great are the riches for us who choose to humble ourselves and find refuge within the confines of this same Woman, Our Mother.
