The store is huge and has a very nice selection of game books, comics, board games, and miniatures. There are a lot of boxes in the open but they arent really a nuisance as they are easy to walk around. While I was there NONE of the staff wore masks. I can understand not enforcing masks but other gaming stores in the area have their staff wearing masks. I was in the store for about 45 minutes and one of the staff members was rather kind and helpful but the rest were abrupt and generally not that helpful. Prices were agreeable and there were even some decent looking deals.
Quite a bit bigger than the game stores we have back home. They had an awesome selection! Was very impressed. I was able to find my first ever set of dice so I picked them up for 6 bucks!
Despite alot of options for magic the gathering and D&D, all of which my Family and I drove to look for, they little clerk was extremely rude to my 12 year old, followed us around the store making Myself and my wife feel uncomfortable. We sat at the miniature figurines for a Good 45 mins and never once offered help or asked if we where looking for anything specific, but instead sat in the middle of the store 15 feet away, with 2 other people bad mouthing I am assumed to be another customer.
Love the size and variety of games here. An impressive assortment of rare pnp rpg systems, and tons of play areas
Love this game store. Their prices are always lower than msrp. I like to support them with most my game purchases. They sell comics and tabletop games, they also have tables for playing games.
No masks on employees or patrons. If you care about your profit margin more than my safety, you don’t deserve my business. Won’t be coming back
Helpful staff. Wide selection of games. Family and 14+ selections available. Card games, dice games, board games, miniatures, comics and more.
Great place to play some war games and pick up and play some board games. Friendly staff. And really clean.
Very nice looking store but owner/employee was less than friendly and wasnt wearing his mask over his mouth/nose.
Super fun shop in a cool location. Helpful staff and a wide selection of games and comics. Almost whatever your nerdy heart desires. Excellent play area as well.
Easily my favorite game store to frequent. Just the selection of products alone is impressive, but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff simply outshines every other gaming and/or comic Ive ever been in. I will miss this place dearly when I move in just a couple short weeks.
Best reaper miniature assortment I have seen
Love this place since I was a kid when it originally was going to East Towne
My new happy place.
Great local comic book store. Has everything I need most of the time. Great owners and employees. They make accommodations whenever possible. They dont even know that Im a local business owner and I send tons of people their way. But they still treat me like Im a valuable customer. Good to see great small businesses around these days. Would recommend to anyone.
Great selection and the owner is very knowledgeable and will do special orders for you.
Great prices and space to game.
This place is huge! I traveled to multiple comic shops in Knoxville and this place is the best. They have a place where they do a youtube podcast on comics, comics, statues, board games, and events. I absolutely loved my time here. If I lived closer I would definitely make this my main comic shop. It is worth the drive if youre in Knoxville
Love all the items they carry!
So cool! Posting pics!
Great game store. Theyre always friendly. Also, kudos to the epic music in the store!
Best place to go in Knoxville for all of your board games and pen/paper games!
I just wish this place had been around 20 years ago. I might not have ever left. Prices are more than Amazon, but it feels good to support local business.
The staff was helpful and they had an an excellent selection of material.
Very cool store. Many different types of Card game tournaments. Very clean..and knowledgeable staff. Also so very cool figurines and many comic books!
Played a nice session of DnD 5e there. Used to more private sessions, but people generally kept to themselves and were respectful. Liked the atmosphere. Lots and lots of good stock, well priced merch and friendly staff. Probably gonna go back and pick up a dicebag!
I often drop in to pick up 5e books for D&D, staff always assists me to the best of their ability and are quite friendly.
Scifi city was a great store with a massive selection of products to choose from.and an absolute ton of play space.
Staff is always friendly and has a great selection of board games.
I think the Knox store Mau be better than the Orlando location. Glad to see a friendly name in a new town. Hope to visit often.
Helpful, knowledgeable staff and a great selection
Great comic book store!
I love Sci-Fi City, especially since it is bow in this location. They have a great staff, and if you live RPGs like DnD, Star Wars, WarHammer, its a great place to get supplies. There is a wonderful selection of dice bags and dice, too. Particularly, too, they have a phenomenal board game collection, and many games are often reduced. The comic book selection is also nice, and I occassionally pick up Superman, Wonder Woman, and Squirrel Girl comics. They also have a decent collection of introductory DC kids comics. If you are looking for card games like Pokemon, though, this isnt really your place. But that is my sons hang-up, and not mine, so 5 full stars!
Amazing place!Cant say enough good about this shop.Phenomenal staff that is friendly and super knowledgeable that will take the time to actually explain things to you.Prices can not be beat anywhere nearby and you will have a hard time finding lower prices on the net on most items.HUGE selection! Comics, games, miniatures, statues, massive gaming area, you name it they got it! If they dont have what you are looking for they will probably see if they can get it for you too.It might be a little bit out of the way to get to but the trip is beyond worth it!
Great fantasy gaming store. Great selection of fantasy miniatures. Not so much on historical gaming. Sorry, Im an old school wargamer.
Absolutely amazing place to go. Used to walk down here and look around in my free time last fall. Always have fun events and even sales. Nice area to play games with friends and even just look around. Giant amazing collection of Bones Miniatures near the back too. Used to play Magic: The Gathering with both of my brothers too. The convenience of this place even got me back into comics, which I couldnt be more grateful for. Overall nice place to go for anything sci-fi or game related.
Sci-fi city is a gem of a game store that isnt afraid to support gamers of all types! Many times a store advertises to be a game store but is nothing but a Magic: the gathering haven. Yes I know it sells but gamers of all breeds, enjoy games of all kinds, and Sci-fi city has it in spades! Dozens of shelves of board games from GMT, Fantasy Flight, AEG, CMoN, I could go on here. Sales, old games, new games, and they even cater to miniatures gamers with a half dozen tables and enough terrain to make a Games Workshop employee blush. Top all this gaming goodness with multiple shelves of RPGs organized and proudly displayed.Truly a wonderful store, wonderful prices, and a wonderful place to visit while in Tennesee.
Great place. Employees and customers very friendly and very helpful.
Really cool game and comic shop! Way bigger inside than i thought!
Bigger than I thought itd be! Visited for Star Wars Legion tournament. Place was clean and courteous.
Great looking, clean store with lots of inventory to choose from and friendly staff. Went for the Boardgame selection and was not disappointed.
Great prices and friendly staff!
Great store, tucked into a small part of town. Easy to miss at speed. Loads of miniatures and comic books, all the tabletop handbooks youll ever need.
Huge facility with soooooo many games! Plenty of space to play games too! Comics and all sorts of nerd thing. I absolutely loved it! Only reason I give it 4/5 is because the staff were standoffish. I tried striking up a conversation with the guy as I was checking out but he wouldnt respond.
Friendly atmosphere and lots of games
The staff are genuine dudes, not salesmen; theyll give you the best recommendations they can without thinly veiled salesmanship. Good comic selection, board game selection, and miniature selection; trading card game selection is limited to only a few games such as Magic: The Gathering, but this is a boardgame and comic store, not a card shop. They will special order things from their distros for you if they dont have them in stock; theres a community of wargamers that meets here and its a good place to find Adventure League games for Dungeons And Dragons. Ive never had a negative experience with these guys, they steer you right if you give them a chance. Worth checking out, absolutely.
A geeks paradise, to be sure! I love coming here looking for new board games, dice sets, miniatures, comics, and basically everything else
Great service. Lots of selection. Zero downsides.
This is an exceptional shop for gaming supplies. They stock the current comics pretty well, and the back-issue bins are sorta hit-or-miss. Its clean and well-kept. Love the new location!
Wow, what store! Clean, incredibly organized, and has so much space to play your game! Well worth a return visit, when Im back in the area.
Awesome inventory!
This place is always great! It is so much better now that it is out of east town mall. Just wish it was closer to home. Although if it was i would probably be broke. Great local shop!
Courteous and friendly owner has prepped a Very nice space for Comics/Gaming enthusiasts to visit (and shop at)!
Pretty much the ONLY store in Knoxville where we can get d&d books/accessories and decent indie board games. Glad they moved locations. Definitely stop by if you are into games or comics.
Best game and comic store Ive seen in this part of the country. Do yourself a favor and check it out. :)
Favorite store for gaming!
Store itself is very nice, especially after some recent water damages occurred. The 1 star is for the customer service which was lacking. Sad, considering that the store had been open for 30 minutes and I was the only customer inside. The shop keep looked up from the comic he was reading long enough to head nod in my general area. Fortunately I knew what I wanted, because the help was nonexistent.
Best tabletop game shop around!
What a delight of a store. Loved it. Great prices and great atmosphere. Really enjoyed browsing and finding things I didnt expect. Awesome.
I love the new store. Location is great and parking was better than I had expected. If you love all things nerdy then you have to check this place out. If you are a table top gamer then this is the place for you. They have tones of tables and room to game. Loads of people can play at once and there is also ample room to watch or sit down and make a list. This place checks all the boxes for what you want out of a place to play. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are also more than willing to order something special for you. They also offer discouted prices on Games Workshop products. Just stop in and take a look around, even that much will be an enjoyable experience.
The staff is always friendly and there is a ton of stuff here. Great selection of games! They can order stuff for you as well which is nice. They host lots of game events which are open to the public. Definitely my favorite local gaming store.
The selection of games here is huge, and the people who work here are nice. You can almost always find a group playing D-and-D in there. Has loads or board games and card games that anyone can enjoy.
Great store for comics and games. Customer service is sometimes hot or miss depending on what side of bed the individual woke up on but otherwise super selection and fair pricing!
Game selection was huge, but the comics left a lot to be desired. Boxes of back issues, all terribly out of order and all COVER PRICE?! That works out on some of the older books, but paying full cover price for recent books that are in most stores dollar bins is ridiculous.Add to that the attitude from the bearded guy behind the counter, to two very simple questions from a new customer...somewhere between I dont wanna be here and WHY are you bothering me?...and it made for a visit neither I nor my girlfriend will want to repeat.
My family are avid Comic Book & game fans. We love Sci-Fi cities game selection! Only thing we wish there was would be more comics for kids. My kids read a bit of everything, but my youngest doesnt find as much that is aged for her there at the moment.
I think its good because its a good place to get out of the house
Great selection of games and RPG books! They host events and adventure league meetups too!
The layout was easy to find everything I needed, large selection on comics, board and card games, and miniature figures for DnD. The atmosphere was really relaxed and inviting for anyone new to the scene. The staff was helpful in their information on sales and directions in finding the products I was after.
Nice people. Great prices. Varied inventory
Always a great visit! Very helpful staff and great selection!
Poor Show: I travel a lot and I like to pick a few books here and there when I can. Sometimes I will spend quite a lot on books. This place had a bunch of back issues I was looking for there but I had a few questions and wanted to ask for something I was looking into... I was there for 30 minutes looking and the only people I saw were people playing games... no one who actually works there ever acknowledged I was there. 3 people walked through the door and still no one came up I eventually walked to the back and still wasn’t acknowledged... they have their own little club house and do not care about anyone new coming in the door! I put everything back and left. I actually sat down on the couch they have and wrote this review. I’m sure everyone who writes positive reviews come in at a better time or are apart of the “club”. If I could give 0 stars I would
Now I dont normally rate this sort of place as I have nothing to base an opinion on. That said, my son reports this was a nice shop with good selection.
Great selection of all sorts of games and comics.
Out of towners - We ended up here by accident on Free Comic Book Day while trying to find something to do during a rainstorm. Nice large store, lots of selections. They had an awesome sale running where just about all the games were 20% off the lowest price, which put them fairly competitive with online stores pricing. Walked out with Terraforming Mars and Scythe for just over $100, and supported local business instead of the big guys -- sweet! Seems like a nice local hangout, there are gaming tables in the back, and we saw some guys with their kids who appeared to be regulars (they gave us some recs and protips too).
Cool place if you enjoy comics and D&D which I do.
Im not really a comic book guy, but I did have some when I was a kid and was into D&D for a year or two in the early 80s. I thought it would be interesting to take my 11 year oldson in to check the place out. They had a moderate amount of comics and unigue board games, and some real swords in a display case, as well as some high priced hand painted star wars and superhero figurines on display, so overall it seemed like a cool place to go if youre into that sort of stuff.
Theyve got a really great selection of games, as well as public playing tables and cheap snacks. I really appreciate how many games they have, the cleanliness of the store, and convenient location. Ive not found a better game store anywhere in the area.
Me and my friends used to frequent the store in order to play games of Warhammer 40k. However every time we would show up there and we would pull out our stuff and we would play it always seemed as though the staff did not want us there at all even though they had tables for us to play on. It’s not as though we never spend money there either I would generally try to support the store and would purchase a box of minis when ever I could so as not to just show up there use their tables and never once pay them back for allowing us to game there. However as time went on it became more and more apparent that the staff really could care less about us and that the staff really didn’t even want us there when we would try to engage in talk with them they’re always rude and condescending in a way that was insulting (I believe they just generally hated anybody who didn’t play dnd or something since all the staff played that) so when the Warhammer store opened up we took our business there and I must say that the service at Warhammer is by far the best service I have ever received. ButA little while back we decided that since they had moved locations we would give it another shot. And to our surprise it was the exact same poor Service that we had received time and time again I have never felt welcomed in that store and so because of that I will never give them another penny of my money
Ive been coming here since before they moved to this location. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have such a huge collection of games, comics, etc that if you cant find something interesting its your own fault. They can typically order whatever you need if you cant find it
I havent been to the new location yet, but this has always been a must-go place when I go to Knoxville! I love looking at all the different games, shirts, and little knick knacks they have up for offer. Their prices are fair, and Ive gotten into D&D since I first walked in to this store! Very fun to visit if youre a nerd!
Alright gaming place. Their new location is a pain to get to during peak traffic times. Typical gaming store with a good selection. Prices are typical of a gaming store as well. One of the few left in town.
Wonderful store, friendly staff, great prices! all around a great experience!
Huge and extremely large variety of inventory. Board games, TCG cards, and we even found a very nice set of Dominoes for a very good price. Cheaper than competitors, friendly staff.
Great selection. Every mini you could want. Store is also extremely well organized and clean.
I loved the location and the size of the store. The product was well organized.
Really great selection and well merchandised. I wish the staff would be a bit more welcoming, but at least the company spends a few bucks on polo shirts so you can tell them apart from the friends theyre playing games with.
I love the new place across from the Fountain City Park! The absolute biggest selection of games and miniatures I have found anywhere in East Tennessee. And their staff is knowledgable about them all! They also have plenty of table space to play those games if you want. The kicker though is I have managed to pick up several board games (Twilight Imperium being the big one) that are actually cheaper than even Amazon prices. If there was ever a local game store to support, this is it.
Great game store, competitive market prices
Definitely a good selection, especially for gaming. Good sales as well.
I got my daughters Christmas gift from them and they had plenty to choose from and a wonderful lit atmosphere..
Pleasantly surprised by how nicely kept the store was, the knowledge each worker had, and their prices! Most stores like this price way up but Sci-Fi City had some great prices. Even beat out some of Amazons prices!
This store has so much to offer. Newest comic selection and neatly organized. A HUGE board game selection. Anything you could want to play is here. Tons of minature games and supplies. A huge game area for the community. Not to mention the largest selection of RPG books Ive ever seen. Love this place.
Paradise for nerds. If you are looking for tabletop stuff, go here. The staff is super knowledgeable and their selection is unmatched.
So far my favorite comic book store in Knoxville!
Wall to wall awesome. Great place. Much more room than they used to have at the mall as well.
Excellent selection of games!
