Stopped here to picnic passing through Knoxville. Lovely neighborhood park. Restrooms and open and covered picnic tables along a nice creek with playground and park amenities.
This is a beautiful park...I. the middle of everything but still felt secluded. Lovely if you dont mind the interstate noise.
Nice clean fun park with lots of activities. Playground is great for kids and is different than many other playgrounds.
Nice little spot with a creek running through it. Trails to walk or run, tennis courts and play area.
My two young ladies loved it! Good balance nature vs urban
Radskatepark! Locals were totally cool!Check out Plutos Sports while your there too!
It has many walking and biking trails. You can park safely and walk or play. It has great park area for children and seating for parties.
Great place to exercise. If you get tired or bored, there are many shops nearby and The Old Mill Restaurant is right there too, and it was great food. There is an actual old mill there to go and look at. There is parking right in front of the exercise trail so you wont have to worry much about parking.
Great park ...but someone is doing political graffiti in the area inside the tunnel that is just uncalled for... Very nice area to visit.
Went for the first time today and my boys absolutely loved it. My husband and i on the other hand, not so much. Lots of homeless people and trash. If that was gone id give 5 stars. Great playset
The bomb 4 skating kids love playground
Clean, pretty, big play ground, picnic area, nice walking path.
Nice, pleasant park if you want to stay to yourself.
Awesome park, really cool location.
Good place to have partys and take kids
Visited this park while visiting Tennessee. We are from Florida. Great playground area. You can’t it’s kind of old but I love that they have an area for bigger kids and an area for smaller kids. I love that the entire play area is that nice rubber material to run around on because I can push my umbrella stroller around with my baby while chasing around my two year old. Beautiful area.
Very peaceful and relaxing I really enjoy this park
Great place for the kids to play...
I used to play on the huge wooden playground here as a kid. Im glad theyve built a big playground here in the same tradition. I think this is one of the best playgrounds in town. I play actively with my kids, rather than sitting on a bench with my phone out, so I appreciate a playground with enough room for an adult to zoom around and interact with kids. We play a tag/hide and seek hybrid and there are great hiding spots all over the play structure and everyone can safely run all over without worrying about trips, falls, or hitting their head - except, as a grown up, a few spots where you want to keep your eyes up if you dont want to knock your head on a bar.One caveat, its close enough to downtown and Cumberland Ave that you get some maybe homeless folks hanging out. I always escort my kids into the bathrooms here.
Peaceful and clean place for kids and pets
Homeless people everywhere the trashcans were flowing over with trash and to put the cherry on top we found a used dirty iv needle laying near the picnic area and immediately left! This is not acceptable! Clean it up knoxville! Never bringing my kids back! Its not safe at all what so ever please dont ever bring your children here.
Always loved it since 1972
The playground area has no shade but the park is always clean and maintain
Enjoyed the tennis but disappointed that the bathrooms were not available and had to use the public ones at night and far from the courts which made me very wairy.
Great place for kids!
Ive always loved this park! My son had a blast. He went from a pirate to a king
The park was ok. It could use a little TLC but still a fun place for kids. If you are familiar with Fort Kid then just think of this as a plastic Fort Kid. Theres a variety of playground equipment available for different age children. I especially like the wobble balance beam and would bring my kids here again, just wish the city would take a little more effort to keeping it in perfect condition.
Great skate park.
The same pair of shoes and water bottle were sitting in the picnic area as last week. All tables and benches need to be cleaned
Padded play area for my toddler to use. All equipment was safe and intact. Would have liked it if there was a shaded play area as it was quite hot even in early morning.
Its a really nice park to take your kids to. The playgrounds are nice and clean. You can grill food. Theres a skateboard park, tennis courts.
Great place to take your kids, or yourself if they enjoy skating
Nice place river is disgusting but the facilitys are nice and well maintained I really like the skate park
Clean and a nice atmosphere
This is a really nice park that I used to visit as a child for family picnics. It has changed a lot over the years and I miss the old timber fort that was there, but the new playground is large and nice.
I have been frequenting this park since I was a child. It is a beautiful park with a creek running the entire length of the park. It is constantly being upgraded with features for children and is kept very clean. It is the ideal family park that is within walking distance of the UT campus.
Great place for the family and summer events. Wide open area with gazebos and of course a park.A small trail is surrounding the area, and they also have a Pace bike rental rack which is only $1 for 15 minutes. So if you looking to have a birthday party, family cookout, cruuse on a bike or simply just taking the family out, it is good location. So with that being said, all in all Tyson Park is a great place to be outdoors
Great skater, bmx biker park
Big park with a nice play ground and tennis courts... there is also a big pavilions and barbecue grill
We had my nephews birthday party here and I was very impressed at how clean the playground was
Love skating here
Bathrooms are closed cause of covid 19 that makes no since cause we are supposed to be washing our hands..
Bring basketball back, maintain the grounds better, hep infected needle anyone? Short walk to the sewage pond, I mean fountain city pond thing... I like the 6 foot deep moat around the park.
All this park is missing is a splash pad. I love this place. The trails go through the woods or to the river so it’s a win win.
Nice experience . Great skate park
This was the first park we visited when we moved to TN. My daughter loved it! It’s always kept clean. The bathrooms could use a little more attention. But we had my daughters birthday here and loved it!
Great place to play tennis with many courts. You just have to make sure the courts are not being used for USTA matches during the summer season. They are not all used at the same time which makes for open courts.
Playground, restrooms, nature, greenway, all around perfect park!
Decent skate park
Ive been there to take the kids to play. They enjoyed it. On 4/28/19 I saw that the play area was under construction. A lot to do at the park. It also have a tennis court or two and the skate park in the back. Theres a lot of parking. I like how close it is to the campus. I went to run on the greenway. I was able to loop around and head back to the park without having to turn around. I enjoyed it. I highly suggest it for families or it youre wanting to run.
Its a great skate park. Very safe!
Very nice park to play run peddle and skateboard
Lots of space to run around and play with a variety of playground equipment for all ages. We had a big flood a while back so Im not sure if it caused damage to the park, but theres several chunks of the rubberized ground missing which poses a big tripping hazard, and there are no swings on the swing set. It has access to the greenway, too. Because its so close to the water, I wish the playground was fenced in.
Its nice and convenient to the Strip and the Greenway. Fond memories here from my youth with birthday parties, class trips and times biking here with friends.
Its spacious, open, clean, and part of the Knoxville Greenway system. Though the creek is still showing as potentially contaminated with bacteria, its still pretty. There are scattered, uncovered picnic tables for random lunches, as well as a covered set near the restrooms for parties. The childrens play area is also near the restrooms, followed by tennis courts, if youre into that. This park is long and narrow. Late at night, parts may still have secretive meetings between men of a certain age... but that is well known to others, who may wish to intercede, so I advise looking elsewhere for late nite delite.
I enjoy this cozy urban park nestled along a creek. Near highways and center city it provides a nice getaway for a picnic or walk. A major path in the citys Greenway System goes through the park. Skate Park, tennis courts, childrens playground and just enough green space.
Beautiful park with a huge playground for kids. Its walking distance from the old Walmart and Publix by the university. Very well kept and tons of shady areas to eat or watch your kids play. Very close to the skate park as well, they are a short walk away from each other.
I have visited this park alot, and it very serene & safe
Great place for the kids lots for them to do and get wore out. Loved it & going back
Great place to take a walk with your dog, in the early mornings.
Great park for the kids to be at but wish the creeks was clean. There is so many trash in it that it needs the city to do something about it . Its embarrassing
Great place for children, clean an well kept.
Good place to practice yo skills
It is an OK park. There are shelters you can reserve but theyre a little bit of a walk to get to a couple of them and you cant drive to them. There is a good playground for kids and plenty of tennis courts. The creek running through the park is contaminated and you should not come in contact with the water. Not my favorite place for a park. There are too many others in Knoxville that are so much better.
Enjoyed watching Fulton High School play matches at Tyson Park. Other than tennis, you can fish, there is a kids playground, places to cook out, picnic tables, and a skateboard park
A nice park with lots of walking trails that extends to Third Creek. Also a skateboard park for the slack-jawed teenagers. Some picnic tables for groups that want to meet there with a covering.
Beautiful park. Nice playground equipment. Kids especially liked a spinning seat ( personal merry-go-round). Also tennis courts and pavilions.
Very nice park, clean, just really all around nice park.
My children love this place
Nice playground along Third Creek greenway
Played cricket and soccer here. Love this place
We love this park! Theres a great mix of slides and playgroud equipment for all ages!
Really cool park with bike trails, tennis courts, share park, and huge play ground area. Probably a lot more too. Well kept and clean.
Awesome space. One of MANY great parks around Knoxville
Great place for children of all ages.
Great place but ppl need to pick up after themselves! Stop being lazy America. Pick up your trash !
Great place for the family to enjoy
Great place for the kids and family
The playground here is one of the best in the city.
No swings for older kids, homeless people in gazebos, adults smoking on playground. I was told this was a better park than Fort Kid.. I was misled!
Love this park kids love it and its big and grassy and it also has a walking area something for the whole family it also has a skate park and tennis court as well
It was really fun I enjoyed it the park we went to had a carisel swig that was really fun
Good park with lots of walking trails
Its very nice and clean.
Paved walking/bicycling path, covered picnic areas and tennis courts. Conveniently located near the Cumberland strip. One note: the creek does not meet biological safety standards. There are signs along the creek stating this fact. Nice park.
Always fun!
Fun + cool
Pretty scenery with a small creek running beside it. Able to rent bicycles for $1 for 15 minutes.
Nice area, playground needs some attention, but kids liked it. Restrooms close by and clean.
Just a nice quite place to be
Nice play area. Good for toddler and older kids. Seems like a quiet area. Surrounded by walking path. Connects to Greenways. We go several times a week. Always kids there in the morning. Either just as we arrive or leaving.
Nice granddaughters loved it
Nice park. Lot of bikes, runners. ONLY thing I did not like is a high pipe sticking right in the middle of the bridge that could be danger
