ENTRANCE: PLEASE NOTE, the entrance to Morningside Park is behind the apartment 811 EAST. GPS might take you some office parking lot.Park: its a beautiful; though small and quick getaway from the jungle of buildings to jungle of woods. The trails are smaller than a miles but full of greenery and huge trees. It also has some natural fixed equipment for exercise and 1 picnic bench as seen in the pic. This park does not have any RESTROOMS.
Beautiful park that feels more like youre in the woods than a city park. Great playgrounds for kids. Heads up though - have the kids keep their shoes on. The tends to be broken glass on the ground.
Really nice park with a short walking trail and gazebos with outdoor grills. The frolf course has a nice amount of variety. Hopefully after corona the park can be refurbished as the signage is old. The park district is coming out to clean as best as they can!
Great management, friendly cashiers, helpful employees, clean, up to date, and great variety, and prices.
From baby strollers to spiderman scooters, theres a little something for everyone. Maintenance decently kept and the ground sparkles. You might even meet some new friends along the way. Always enjoy the disc golf course.
Has disc golf course fun for family free to use
Beautiful park. Needs some maintenance but still pretty. Lots of squirrels
Beautiful place! Has something for everyone.
The disc golf course is hard to navigate and could use markers for direction. I also didnt see a restroom and had to cut my visit short cause I had to go and couldnt hold it. There was also a lot of discarded clothing and shoes...has potential to be a beautiful park, just needs some attention and re-doing.
Quite park in the downtown area. Plenty of walking and open spaces. Not to busy.
Fantastic park! I run through here all the time and love all the trees and winding paths. Definitely a highly underrated park in Knoxville.
Great place to just sit and think beautiful to have pictures taken
Huge park in the heart of downtown! Features a disc golf course, big playground with nice jungle gyms swings and fort for kids, scenic trails for jogging and exercise, and pavilions with BBQ pits for relaxing and getting together with friends. Great place to feel far away from the daily grind while not going far at all.
Great park, disc golf course was fun
Its a beautiful park just has a lot of trash and items that could be harmful to children laying around.
Disc golf course is a little confusing to navigate. Good course though. Baskets where set up on a lot of slopes that were slick and hard to walk on.
Sweet old school course downtown Knox
Look, dont get me wrong the disc golf course is one of the best in Knoxville. As far as the layout goes the walk and the upkeep of the grounds in baskets. However youll be dodging empty liquor bottles and other discarded junk along the way especially in the rough, I understand with the heavy traffic that this part gets from some they do their best to keep up with it but sometimes its a bit much.
I actually wasnt at Morningside Park, I was at The Mabry Hazen House which is one of Knoxvilles Historic homes which is located across the road from the park. But, I have been to the park in the past and it is an excellent place with a nice statue in honor of Alex Haley which is the author of the amazing saga Roots.
Nice walking trails but could do with a less discard drug needles
Nice place
Great disc golf course. A little tight but a great technical place to throw. The local area is a tad dicey, but absolutely safe during the day. Should prob avoid at night, unless you are street smart.
Nice place!
Ive only been twice but seems like a nice, quite place.
Nice park to have a picnic ans has activities for all ages
I really love that there is a big park here but honestly the place could really use a clean up. There is quite a bit of broken glass and other liter scattered about and the signs for the frisbee golf course desperately need replacing. The exercise stations could use some repair too. This place definitely has the potential to be a really great park, it just needs a little TLC.
I love this park, ever since it got revamped when i was a kid, a picture under the newly built statue of Alex Haley, with a giant book book no less, lol, playground, not to mention the fitness trail on than other side and thru the park
The park is a wonderful place to be for out doors.plenty of shade and a nice view.love the event in august giving back to the community. Yhe theme. ( UNITY) Tenn. Beauticians & Barber.
Its lucky to get a 2 star from me. The only reason to go there is if you play disc golf. It is a fun course. Otherwise it is worthless for the average park goer. Tons upon tons of broken glass. Usually a lot of squatters. Tons of garage and hazardous waste. Seeing used condoms and used syringes are normal for that place.
A wonderful 18 hole disc golf course featuring multiple teepads, and multiple baskets.Be wary about leaving your car overnight, or playing too late into the night. (Middle of downtown area)
Awesome park
My parents have lived in the subdivision since the 70s. Things have changed. Drastically. Frisbee golf course. Alex Haley statue. Parked cars late night. Love where I came from. Not for everyone tho
Didnt go here, I drove by
Nice park with open space to enjoy a walk and have a meal
My great uncle lived there until he passed on Friday,August 16,2019
It was kool
You can see and know different races and religions and it can be very educational in different ways of life, and their different cultures, not all are good, but there is more good in all walks of upon our world, and thats the bottom line, cause Larry said so!!!
I took my nephew to the Cut Doctor and I mean he gave he a sharp haircut. I it. Its his birthday...
I’d give 4 stars if the disc golf markers were legible. Fun none the less.
Great place to relax at technically downtown Knoxville. Clean an full of culture. Enjoyed
Great peaceful place to hang out for the family
The scenery is awesome Kids have an great play place disc golf is also available parking is easy there is a walking trail as well. Enjoyed it all
Great place to exercise, bring your family and even have an event! Nice park
Very nature fill
Fun place for families, most not handicapped accessible
Went for a round of disc golf today and the park was a dump, we literally seen a pill bottle as soon as we started off the first pad, liquor bottles, pathways trashed with blankets from where people lay at night. We even had to dodge 2 pitbulls running loose with leash still attached as we had to figure out the course because all markings and maps are ruined. Needless to say we will not be back nor would I suggest anyone at all especially children to go there, as it is truly a health hazard. Truly a shame as it could be great if taken care of probably. Such a close walk for so many, park management services should be ashamed.
Went to it for kumba fest i really liked it will be taking my grandbabies there
A great place to play Frisbee golf
I had a great time watching the Kuumba dancers
Nice park and home of Alex Haley statue
Nice
Great disc golf course. More technical than long. Unfortunately there is a ton of broken glass.
This is a well-kept area. I like it when they have their little festivals!
Live next to this park, nice disc golf course, pretty scenery, and friendly people
Quiet place fo4 a walk
Good course but needs some trash cans
Beautiful and peaceful scenery
Great bit of beauty in an urban space.
Great park. Love the Alex Haley statue
Alex Haley statue was beautiful!
The park needs a lot of upkeep and the disc golf course could really use new signs similar to the current KDGA format at other courses.
No possible way to find disc golf course, unnumbered and hidden. GPS sent me to an office complex . Very poor maintenance
Very beautiful place
Great place to take pictures!!
Great disc golf course. Really well kept. Changing basket locations makes each time a fun experience.
Nice park for events
A very nice experience there!
Frisby golf, Frolfing!
Good very nice park
Improving all the time. Its a great place to play disc golf. Pickup ultimate frisbee on sundays
Awesome disc golf and bike trails
Loved it
One of Ktowns most topographically interesting parks with a large ravine making up its middle. Pavilion, covered picnic tables, disc golf, walking trail, fabulous grasses, mighty boulders to climb on, and the wonderful Alex Haley Heritage Square right there.
Not good at all somebody hit my car and bag admessed it up it was verry sentimental cause he died about two weeks ago and now i have no way to get to work and that was my shelter too
Back in Tennessee for the holidays visiting some friends. Statue of Alex Haley brings back memories
It was great.
Breathtaking view!
Nature is undisturbed.
A nice place to have family picnics
Love this park and its beautiful memorial to Alex Haley
Its been a while since Ive been here but I remember it being a good place to play disc golf.
Itbwas wonderful
Great disc golf course with varying degrees of difficulty. Well maintained and most holes have signs with the layout of the hole.
It was nice and quiet
Fun disc golf course. Hilly and challenging.
Needs a little work
Tough disc golf course. Good placement
I loved that the park was clean and fun.
Nice park with several playgrounds and Frisbee golf course.
Its cool nice place to neck or whatever. Lol

Had to call cops on homeless guy shooting up
Place you can walk around nice and quiet

Best disc golf in town!!! Love this course.Despite to occasional broken glass, condom, or needle.

Big open field to play Frisbee, kinda muddy though.
