This is a fabulous, interesting, educational tour of the home; youll learn a lot about the family that lived there, and a bit of the history of Knoxville, too. It is definitely worth your time when visiting Knoxville, and the entry fee is quite reasonable. I was fortunate to have the curator, Patrick, as my tour guide. He not only has a wealth of information, but readily takes questions, and is clearly enthusiastic about the home and its history.

I give this location based on how badly i was treated by Marble Spring main office & John sevier fram house. also how poor the tour guides are. i found only one tour guide to be excellent. you find out why on each review i do at all their locations. this would of been a 5 star rating but the marble spring as a whole bring it down. the house it self is wonderful but the tour guide here gets 10 stars from me. i forgot his name and the only way i can remember him is that he had red hair. whoever he is marble springs needs to give him a raise and make him a tour guide trainer. it wont hurt the employees the their main office to take notice too. this tour guide welcome us, he knew so much about the site i could of spent all day with him learning more and more. not only was he pleasant & knowledgeable he took the time to listen to each guest and treated each person and their question with respect. while making the tour fun. this site was our last stop for the day and this tour guide and he alone out of all the other marble spring employees kept our trip from being a total DISASTER!!! to him i say thank you!!!!!!

I came here in the past and had a great time. Its nice to see history alive and well in Knoxville. Patrick, the Director, was generous with his time and deep knowledge of the site and house. It made the whole experience more relevant to how we live now. Highly recommend a visit!

We are from out of town and would like to view the house. We show up. No one is inside the house. No signs as to wear to go. We were told by a man who said, “We are filming today. The house isn’t open for tours.” Well, thanks a lot. How were we supposed to know that? No signs. No information. What a joke. Skip this house and go to another.

We travel to Tennessee every year and this was our second year visiting the Mabry-Hazen house. My daughter loves to hear the stories and the tour guide is very knowledgeable about the family and the history of Knoxville. We will definitely go back next year and I am sure we will learn something new.

The stories they tell of this family will have you cracking up. Some of the stories will make you cry. Other stories are part of history. The house and land is beautiful as well as all the kept pieces dating back to early days. You can see the house in its glory. You can buy a scandalous book about one of the sisters. You can see the house by appointment only unless there is as group. All accommodations are made for anyone to see the museum bit you cannot touch.

Interesting story associated with the house but not open when they say it is supposed to be and in poor repair. What the broken stairs. Id skip this one.

A beautifully restored house, perched on a hill. The tour guide is very friendly and responsive. He was very helpful with e-mail regarding my visit, and making sure he was there. He even waited with the group (of 3 others) so that I could join them. The guide is full of anecdotes of all aspects - the house, the history, and the family members that lived there. The best part is that the house is full of stuff that has always been there - there are relatively few replicas. Easy accessible by car. Perhaps slightly expensive at $10 for a 35-40 minute tour.

Guy who gave the tour was excellent. He is the director, and obviously knows his stuff. Took the time to answer every one of our questions and is passionate about his work.
