There seriously doesnt seem to be a bad seat in the house. The bartenders were so kind and everything runs so smoothly here. The restroom process was unbelievable fast for a womens restroom. The hangout area is nice before you go in. I will definitely be back to see more events here. We also had very accommodating staff members. Bravo on one of the smoothest ran venues downtown. I was also lucky enough to meet Brandon Boyd from Incubus!
This was my first time at the Murat Theatre. We were seated on the ground level (orchestra row T) right in front of the cut off of the balcony above. From what I could tell the venue is a perfect size I believe you really cant have a bad seat. The Audio was not overly loud and was mixed well, the lighting was well thought out and executed well. The detailing itself on the walls and ceiling of the theater are beautiful and added to the experience. Will definitely be coming back
My husband and I came to see Ron White. Im glad I opted for Royalty Seating. The view was very nice. The staff were very helpful. My only dislike were the drink prices. Too steep. I did enjoy going to this theater. Visiting different venues is fun.
This is a wonderful place. Its absolutely beautiful from its marble stairways to its beautiful theatre. We came here to watch Rhett and Link from Good Mythical Morning and we really enjoyed ourselves. They had beer stands, wine stands and all sorts of cocktails. They are most definitely on the pricey side. We got a beer and water and it was $15. My sister got two beers, a water, and a cranberry vodka and it was $46.
Historical building and one of the best acoustically designed buildings for both concerts and comedians. Always quick security lines and everything is marked well so finding your seats are easy. If you do have issues they have plenty of ushers and security guards willing to help you.
Overall would probably give it 3.5 if possible. Good views of stage from row x... seats are tight and no cup holders. It was nice but not nearly as old school glam as Louisville Palace. Would go see another show there despite slight annoyances hence 4.0 overall. Reasonable drink prices...
Nice venue, band put on a great show. Security seemed quite heavy.
This production has been the delight of all my experiences! Broadway at its finest! It starts taking you on a journey in the tavern of Samuel Adams and with a mix of music including rapp etc. You are taken on a journey through the life of Hamilton. Meeting such characters as the hilarious King of England, the machinations of Aaron Burr and the outlandish Thomas Jefferson. The evening is well worth the money as you will enjoy ups and downs of extraordinary people struggling to make a new nation through the life of Alexander Hamilton!
Saw David Grey last night & he was awesome!!! Great show, great lighting!! Love going to the Murat Theater. Everyone is always so helpful & nice. We were in the 6th row.
Intimate theater (by that I mean small). Would’ve been much more enjoyable if they had opened doors on time and drinks hadn’t cost more than they do at Disney world.
Attended a concert at this location. The sound for the venue was good, with tight bass and a well balanced mix. The views are good, even at the rear of the main floor. Plenty of street parking within a few blocks of the venue. I liked that they offered drinks that could be taken into the theater, but the drink prices were much higher than expected. $21 for a PBR and a White Claw was a bit steep!
Love going here! Beautiful building! Its easy to get to, plenty of parking around it. They have improved the womens bathrooms...even with a very long line, its a very SHORT wait to get through! Great improvement!
Seems like no seat is bad. Roomy bathrooms make for quick trips. The show (So You Think You Can Dance) was good. Snacks are expensive. Once doors open for the show you are yelled at by multiple employees in an attempt to corral everyone.
The staff at this venue was fantastic! We went to see a concert and everyone was so helpful and nice. They are very good at handling large crowds. Beautiful, historic and clean building. Sound quality was excellent.
Great place for the arts! The plays are top notch. Seating is a bit tight but comfortable. Go and enjoy the evening!
You just cannot beat this venue! It is absolutly gorgeous with amazing acoustics. The seating is great, I highly suggest the royal balcony for seating.. Ive never had a bad seat up there yet!
The bathroom is NOT equipped for the physically handicapped. When you use the elevator to go to the third floor you STILL HAVE STEPS TO CLIMB to go into the theater. The seats are small. I LOVED the performance.
This venue is amazing. I have been here twice and it always been great. The staff is friendly, parking is easy, and they bring in great artist. I recently saw mariah Carey and it was the best night ever. The price value of the seats was worth cost for 4th row.
Such a well organized place, I really enjoy watching entertainment here
Wonderful venue! Sizable, with lots of options for places to get drinks/snacks. Very classical looking, so it could be appropriate for any show. Saw a Techno group here, but am now thinking of checking out their Broadway series. Parking is early achieved but requires some effort.
Gorgeous old building. Amazing ceilings and very stereotypical theater seating. Had trouble finding the restrooms. Located right off Mass Ave makes it easy to eat, watch a show, and grab drinks after. Balcony seats are high so get as low as you can if youre in the balcony.
Nice theater. Was very crowded, but they moved people through quickly. Not a lot of slope to the orchestra section, and when they say obstructed view they mean you would sit behind a 4 foot wide pillar - not even sure why they put seats there. Had a great time sitting next to that pillar watching Hamilton.
Fantastic service. We had 4 seats that had limited site line for our children. We told the usher our problem and a supervisor moved us to an area where the children could actually see the stage. The theater is beautiful and the seats are comfortable. The womens restroom line seems very long but it always moves quickly
Best place for any kind of music concerts
First time there and I tell you Ill be bk. We had nice seats and the show ( The Nut Cracker ) was amazing. Ppl were so nice and the staff had things under control. We had a ball and I suggest that this place be one on your bucket list.
Chicago concert was awesome! Very memorable night with my daughter.
I enjoyed a very nice Friday night with my son and mother. It was also Valentines Day which made it more special...I only rated it 4 stars due to the parking...we had to use the overflow lot and walk to the venue.(next time I will plan better) Other than that it was a nice comedy show featuring Rickey Smiley who is from the same city in Alabama where my Moms side of the family grew up...We had a great time at the Murat...
Very best venue in Indy! Concerts, musicals and theatrical performances are spectacular! Not a bad seat in the building there are some better then others! Great location in a GREAT CITY!
Had a fantastic experience seeing Switchfoot here. Great venue, escpecially in the Egyptian Room
Seen Kansas and it was a wonderful experience. I love going to see concerts at the Murat. Its very intimate and any seat is a good seat there. The employees are wonderful and always enjoy ourselves when we go. Always watching to make sure we dont miss a opportunity to see some of our favorite bands play here. My favorite place to go..love it!
Great theater, I would suggest getting seats that are not under the balcony. Being near the doors where people are entering and or exiting can be distracting. So spend the extra $ and get better seats if you can.
Unique old theatre with lots of character. Great place to see a show!
The venue is beautiful and the concert was great... but people were allowed to arrive late and allowed in and out during the performance. The entire row of people had to continually stand up to let attendees in and out of the row. It didn’t just happen once or twice, I don’t believe we got to enjoy any one song in its entirety because of this ongoing issue. Unfortunately, I won’t be going going back.
Nice venue. We have seen several shows here and its always a good time. Drinks are overpriced, but thats expected at a concert venue. See Empire Strips Back!! Its awesome and hilarious.
Seats are way too small and in desperate need of a good oiling. Security is hit or miss as some of them are worse than the soup Nazi, but some are cool. The show, Critical Role Live was amazing. So 3 stars for the venue and 5 stars for the show.
One of my favorite event spots. Good stuff. Check it out. They have a lot of awesome shows here.
Seen a number of concerts and theater productions here. Staff is efficient and well prepared. Sound is good. fun venue. I enjoy returning.
It was a nice and cozy place. Shared the Nutcracker ballet with my wife here. She loved it. That makes me happy.
The sound quality was horrible. This is the second time Ive been here for a musical and have had consistent experiences. The temperature was a nice level of boiling. By the end, everyone looked sweaty. Also, Im always blow away with how they can charge what they do and have a theater with visibly peeling paint and have a look of disrepair.
Great venue to see different types of shows musicals or concerts. It is just a great place to go see the show. Staff is great parking is okay just all in all a good place to go see a show.
I sat in the JJ section (orchestra) and sorry to say that my seat was broken. I folded my coat to fashion a sort of cushion but still I could not see well as I was practically on the floor and very uncomfortable. Disappointing because it was a long awaited show and sort of a special occasion but luckily there were empty (and not broken) seats nearby so I could enjoy the second act. I would go back for another must-see show, the theater itself is very beautiful but would be very choosy about my seat.
Beautiful old theater. Great shows and staff almost always helpful. Restrooms could use a little updating and price of drinks was outrageous.
Amazing historic theatre. Very well maintained classy venue for amazing more intimate concerts! Acoustics are amazing!
We had good seats but some seating is view blocked. Not up to ADA standards. Bathrooms were difficult to access. The play was awesome!
Was there to see Hamilton, an awesome performance. But as usual seating is an issue, I am 510 tall and my knees hit seat in front of me and girth space is limited so difficult to sit sideways. And as always bathroom location and cattle call attempt at intermission for all the women to get downstairs to get back upstairs and the play had started.
Love the vibe of this venue. Seats are comfortable. Brings in a great variety of shows. Fairly easy in and out with parking close by.
STRAIGHT NO CHASER 33rd straight sell out. Show at Old National Theater.
Good venue for a show. The architecture is fun to explore visually. Nicely maintained. Staff was helpful.
Nice place. Easy parking if you arrive early. Places to eat within walking distance.
Facilities are better than what they have been in the past. I have a hard time swallowing the Vegas prices on concessions and tickets. But if the right act comes around it is pretty intimate. Just eat and drink if necessary beforehand.
I always love coming here. The staff is always super nice and the event is was great! Came here most recently for the Last Podcast on the Left, there were two events going on but everything was well organized.Ordered a drink, surprisingly strong!
Great to see the Farewell. Play was amazing. Ticket people amazing. Bathroom people amazing-that lady had the line moving. Not so amazing strob flashlight security had for people recording that shouldnt be...people can have seizures because of that and so distracting-there has to be a better way. Also ridiculous that people were late and hard to see cause you gotta stand up to let people in. Seats are small and leg room is limited. Theater is beautiful
The show was great, but if we hadnt paid so much we would have left. We froze the whole time. I didnt know we should have brought gloves, and a hat and scarf. When we said something they just said there was nothing that could be done, otherwise it would get hot. Maam, its winter and the air conditioner is blowing freezing cold sir on is, dont you think we want it to get hot.
Went to the Alice Cooper Concert and it was awesome! The murat was very well put together and helpful in every way. Will definitely be coming back for more concerts in the future.
Very cool, old theater but terrible layout. So many people jammed in the lobby before they open the doors to the theatre that you cant even move or get to the bathrooms. Womens bathroom location is terrible and hard to get to as well.
The building is so beautiful! The sound system, views from the balcony and acoustics need a little work.
Sat in the very last row of the balcony and the view and sound were excellent. Will definitely see another show here.
Went to see Hamilton. Great show, nice facility but the AC/hvac couldnt handle the amount of people. It got hot and stuffy by the end of the show, but we were still able to enjoy the performance
We have had Broadway show series for the past 2 years to make sure we get first dibs to Hamilton!!We saw Hamilton on Broadway a few years ago and my wife is a massive fan.We have really been surprised how excellent every show has been that are shared between Clowes and the Murat.Murat is awesome old-school theater in the heart of where the happening stuff happens!
Maybe the ushers shouldnt seat people in the middle of a song. Wait til the end ffs.And those people were at the concession stand. They were not late because of a family emergency or weather. They reaalllllly needed those drinks. So wreck the show for the rest of us.
Excellent performance of Hamilton. The staff was very helpful and found our umbrella, which we left under the seat.
Went and seen Straight No Chaser. Wonderful place. Historic building.
No security, drunks standing up during the show, several disabled veterans only got to see the back of the drunks. Very disappointed, will not go back.
Well organized venue. One security guard needs to get a life or another job. Other than him, everyone and everything seemed pleasant.
Great variety of shows here. Its a beautiful building. Bathrooms are okay and drinks were alright but thats to be expected with the turn around they have.
Enjoyed our show. Easy parking, although it did cost.
Leg room is not ideal if you are tall. However this great place for a concert or theater show.
Great theater, great shows, but dont even attempt to use the restroom during intermission.
Excellent venue, has a very classic feel. Seating is tight, but we had an aisle seat next to a column, which gives about 3x the space most seats have.Drink prices were high, even for a show venue downtown ($14 for domestic can?) But that may have more to do with performer than venue, not sure.Parking was close and affordable given its location in heart of downtown, with both street and lot parking within less than 1 block. There was a venue policy of no returns should you need to go back to your car for a forgotten item or outside to smoke.
Just saw Corrosion of Conformity and Crowbar at the Deluxe Room inside Murat Theater. Kind of reminded me of a wider version of The Vogue but without a balcony.Saw Clutch at the Egyptian Room last March and Alice In Chains at the actual Theater several years ago.I think its really cool this venue has several different areas for bands to play.
Nice small venue, friendly staff working all over the place. Good job! Good show!
There for Hamilton (which was fabulous!)...but they waited WAY TOO LONG to start seating people--house was packed and it was a very slow process! Just barely got seated in time before show started and they continued to do after start of play, which was disruptive.
Seriously one of the worst venues I have ever been to. Have seen many shows in Chicago, etc. Every time we come here we regret it. Little grade to the seats, and add that there is no staggering of seats row to row. You stare right at the back of the head of the person in front of you. If you are short or they are tall you will struggle to see the entire show. For Hamilton it was so stifling hot in the theater people were begging them to open doors. Have been for concerts and if you can stand in the aisle you can at least see. Sound is decent. If it is a special show to you look for venues in another city.
We saw the Buddy Holley/Roy Orbison hologram show. It was a fantastic show and I loved the venue!
Beautiful. Love the interior. A great place to see various forms of entertainment.
Went to see Fiddler on The Roof. The venue was well maintained and very well manned. Lots of people to direct or assist if needed. Might have to pay for parking, but The Murat Theater was great!
Excellent shows; outrageously priced drinks. A double and a popcorn: $21. A bottle if water and a glass of wine: $19.With prices like these, Id suggest bringing in your own drinks & popcorn.Ushers arent really sure what numbers go to what seats either.Go for the shows. Dont buy anything. Be prepared to move.
Went to Ron White that dude is hilarious, we had a blast glad we went!
Have to figure out bathrooms. Took my parents for a show and the only bathrooms at least that we were told by workers was down a pretty decent size set of stairs. That was a big struggle for them
What a beautiful venue. I loved the old architecture. The concert I attended sounded great & sitting in the royalty section I had a perfect view. I guess the Murat theatre is part of the Old National Center. A couple different venues under one roof. Would definitely see a show here again & highly recommend checking this place out if you can
We saw Shen Yun & it was exceptional. Changes every year. Its home is in New York. Chinese government not involved at all. Well woth seeing!!!!!!!
While the theater has nice historic architecture and is a decent place to see a show, they consistently allow people in and out during shows. This means the entire row had to stand up mid performance to let people through, blocking views and being very distracting. The seats are old and loudly squeak when going up and down and Ive been at several performances where comedians and actors remark about it from the stage. The theater would be rated much higher in my book if they didnt allow late seating and you had to wait for intermissions to be reseated. The chairs can be uncomfortable after a few hours, but other than the policy of letting people in and out, its a nice place.
Beautiful building and awesome staff. We went to see the Nutcracker performed by the Indianapolis Ballet .... beautiful music performance by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra ... five stars!
Attending the annual Sportsmen gun raffle, good time.
I love it. great place to host comedy shows and plays
Cramped- however- clean restrooms, nice staff, overall great venue! Seats are rather small and no elbow room to move. Hard to get in and out of rows.
This is a decent theater thats been here for years. The concerts I tend to go to get pushed to the Egyptian room in the basement which gets crowded, hot and smokey (from smoke machines). It could use some cleaning/repainting/touch-ups in some areas but its fairly clean. We got a VIP ticket the last time we went and that was TOTALLY worth it. We had a private entrance, shorter lines, private bathrooms and a bar for VIP ticket holders only. If you go, you need to spring fornthe VIP ticket.
Friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous space both inside the theatre and the lobby. can’t wait to go back!
Not a bad seat in the house. Small but nice venue!
Beautiful venue. Comfortable. Saw Hamilton. AMAZING.
Acoustics were great. Got a little warm in there once it filled up. But had a great time.
Have seen dozens of shows here over the year, s much easier getting in and out of than the bigger venues, good acoustics, clean facility.
Great theatre but beware of limited sight lines on the outter aisles of the orchestra section due to pillars and low hanging box seats.
We went for a concert. It was beautiful!
