We have enjoyed different types of B&B shows in the past. This one, Beehive, was incredible. The band, stage work, and food were all spot on. The lady actresses-vocalists were stunning and exhibited phenomenal vocal acuity. Thank you!
Beef and Boards has gone the extra mile to prevent the spread of covid-19 while still giving a great dining experience and terrific entertainment. We attended the Beehive play on 7/12/20. When we arrived they took our temperature and insured that everyone wore a mask. They seated us promptly and then served our meal. I thought the whole experience was outstanding. The actors and servers wore face shields. I actually think Beef & Boards is better now than before the pandemic. It is obvious that the management cares about the customers and their staff, by the changes that were made.
Absolutely amazing experience! Service was great! Friendly staff! And the actors/actresses were absolutely talented! I seen Saturday Night Fever, and it was actually my first dinner/show, and I was not disappointed. So fun, and food/buffet was great!I will now definitely go back ! Cant wait!
I am been going for years with VIP season tickets. It is very affordable at $31.25 per person per show in our group of eight. The food is buffet style and very good with a good variety. The wait staff are good and super attentive. I am always blown away by the quality of vocals and shows! Comedy is there real specialty though.
We went last night and saw beehive the ladies were beautiful and sung very well. The food they served to us was good too .I was not used to them bringing us the food but due to the cova19 we had to social distance . Great night
This is really hard to rate. The food was good, especially considering it is buffet. And the show itself was great. However, when we bought our tickets, we were told that every seat in the house had an equal view of the show. That is NOT the case. Our show was almost sold out, so we got seats close to the wall. On my opinion, those seats are not worth more than half. Most of the time the actors backs were toward us. So we had a list view of a great show!
The show is always phenomenal. The food not so much. Wait staff is always on par, attentive and personable. If I was rating them on food alone, it would definitely be a 1. Suggestions would be to stop overcooking the beef, add some seasonings to the potatoes and veggies. The desserts are usually okay but you could change them once in awhile for some more variety. Overall I go for the show, definitely not for the food.
What a lovely place! Beef and boards keeps alive the magic of theatre. It indulges my love for anything upscale, high society, and fancy while keeping it still affordable. I went with two girl friends, and we had a lovely time and enjoyed ourselves. The food was good, but the dessert was better.
No longer smorgasbord even though the price stays the same. No extra servings. Waiter not friendly. Veggies seemed to be frozen and overcooked and water logged.
We went to Beef and Boards for Valentines day. It was a lot of fun. The buffet has a variety of foods which change with each show and the performance was fun to watch. Many people love the experience. We think it is a fun night out every once in a while.
This theater is knowingly putting everyones lives at risk but increasing the chance of anyone in this place contracting the virus for no reason. They also ignore and delete the very people speaking out against the issue instead of addressing it. Would not recommend. Very high chance of catching COVID19
We have had VIP memberships at B&B for 4 years and enjoy the total experience. Food is OK, productions are top notch for a local theater group. We get to see plays we would never have chosen ourselves.
Buffet can sometimes be a bit limited, but the food quality is usually good; there should be something for everyone. Performance quality varies from show to show, but it is almost always quite good, and frequently great! Would recommend getting VIP (only) if you plan on going to several shows a year.
Good job with social distancing, etc. Servers were also good. Great show!
Always a professional show with international talent & a delicious meal with creative cocktails.
Food was very good. The staff is exceptional. And the show was so great. The actresses played their roles so well. This is an evening well worth the money.
Great virus protection systems in place. Beehive was a very fun show.
Good show; good food; felt safe with their sanitization practices.
Ive been to Beef & Boards dinner theater a handful of times in the last 25 years. The shows are pretty good. Definitely better than most high school level shows Ive seen (Ive seen some really great ones) but also definitely not Broadway level...pretty much what one would expect. Some have been better than others but I love theater so even not so great shows are still entertaining but at the prices B&B charge I expect them to be good. For the most part, they have been. The buffet dinner has stayed pretty much the same over the 25 years. Salad bar, bread, sides, a couple of meat options & the roast beef carving station. Pretty standard. Alchohol and desserts are extra.A table for two also costs extra. Im not sue why, as the table is half the size. Since we were just 2, we had table mates. Im an introvert, so, thats not my favorite.
The famous Chef Odell and his kitchen staff is nothing more than steam veggies in a bag from Gordan food service.Kitchen violates health code in every way possible. One grease fire and multiple sewer line issues already since January 2020So many electrical issues that its a fire hazard.Bar room is completely disgusting. Flies everywhere, refrigerators and coolers havent been swept or mopped in years (hence the flies)Its in violation of soo many different codes its ridiculous. Food is a major hazard!!!!Extremely cramped seating and so many stairs!!Theres no room to walk and navigate through the isle ways. For the money spent, Id been happier with just going downtown. They serve better meals at old country buffet, and people watching is better entertainment by a long shot.
The food is very good high quality. Most everyone attending is dressed nicely but blue jeans will still get you in the door. The plays are quality and well put together. Fun for the whole family or date night.
We are VIP members and enjoy coming with our friends to spend a fun evening. However, the staff seems to dominate our time with constantly coming back to our table wanting to remove a plate, silverware, cup .. etc we barely started eating!!By the end of our meal I’m sooo annoyed I won’t even hardly respond because I’ve been interrupted so much. The tables are way too close together when you have people that come in different sizes and don’t want to give up any space. Not sure we will be renewing after many years of coming!!
This place is consistently above average. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. We had a table of four for the Buddy Holly Story. Wow!! The play was outstanding! The actors did a superb job. The actor playing Buddy Holly, sang and played better than the originals you can find on line. Beef & Boards consistently does a great job, but this time, I think the production was the best Ive ever seen at B&B.
Have had season tickets for over 20 years. Its amazing what they can do with the size of their stage! Actors come from all over the US to work here. Variety of shows each season with a focus on musicals.Buffet dinner is usually themed to the show although there is always beef - handcut for your preference.
First time visiting and we were impressed! We saw The Christmas Story. The food was good for it being a buffet! The only reason Im giving it a 4 and not 5 is because the tables are really squeezed in. There is not much room to move or get out. You are basically back to back with the chairs of the people next to you. Drinks with alcohol cost extra as well as desserts. The rest of food and drinks are included in the ticket price. We will go back!
Good selection of tasty, properly cooked food, with well co-ordinated hostess seating and buffet service, well done & well presented plays/shows. Always a great time for me. It could have brighter lighting on steps and around the tables
What a great first experience at Beef & Boards as our group enjoyed A Christmas Story. Having heard good things about B&B from others, my expectations were were elevated and they did not disappoint. The service was memorable, the food was tasty, and the entertainers were talented. We are planning a return in 2020!
I saw A Christmas Story this time. My party enjoyed both the show and the food. The only complaint I heard was that someone thought the Turkey was supposed to be ham. I have seen numerous shows here over the years and I keep coming back!
We had a great experience last night...food was fantastic...service was FANTASTIC...
Amazing performance Friday night! Those ladies did an excellent job of keeping us entertained and yet still tore at our hearts during the emotional moments. One of my favorites at Beef & Boards for sure! Well done!!!
The theater is fun to admire the talent of the performers. Seating is really cramped and uncomfortable, but maybe other seats would be better. The speakers could not handle some of the singers, but the band was great. The food was well done, and staff was friendly. A good experience.
We went as a group and our table was directly beside the stage. The show was amazing. We saw Little Shop to Horrors and the cast was excellent, the whole show was amazing. The only thing I would say that was not good; is the food on the buffet was cold. I was disappointed that it wasnt a dinner served instead of a buffet. Other than the buffet; everything elae was great. You definitely need to go. We will go back.
The buffet was mediocre at best. Golden corral was better. Yeah, I said it. BUT.... the performance was out of this world. Hats off to the performers. They worked so hard they were sweating, in a good way, like a prize fighter. The table staff was also on high performance mode. All in all, the show was perfect. The food was perfectly blah.
We saw the Buddy Holly Story, and it was fantastic. Nostalgia obviously played a big part, but the food was good and the atmosphere was fun. The actor that played Buddy Holly was spot on, even his mannerisms including the hair flick.
The show was quite entertaining - innovative use of space! The food was mediocre. I was disappointed that it was buffet. I guess I understand but it was not the best cuisine. Dessert was good though. Overall, it was worth the time and money. Make sure to get there early!
Love this place!! Shows are amazing and food is really good. Service is top notch. Always have a great time here.
One of the worst buffets that I had ever eaten at.. The buffet is out in the open and you set and wait until you are invited to go up for your turn. It says there and absorbs all the germs from everybody in the Room hundreds of people pass by before you have your chance at some of the Orange sauce.. When you get up there you will enjoy carved pressed Turkey roast beef that maybe the coldest and toughest that I had ever eaten And one of the oddest combinations of food choices that I had ever seen on 1 strip island of food including pasta with tomato sauce on it fish right beside of that along with the Turkey and roast beef your choice of mix vegetable or sweet potato/ Orange sauce... The tables were so small that it felt like you were eating in an airplane bathroom with a party of 4. The only thing worse than the buff a was the sub par acting I felt as if I was at my nieces 7th grade play and I was looking for an excuse to leave... Overall from a 1 to 10 I would give this place a 2 at best. Maybe another play would be better I dont know.. I doubt I will chance it.
Ive been here multiple times, like the shows, each time will be a different experience from the production they put on to the food they serve. They have run out of certain food, so youll want to get there early if there is a particular food that youll eat. The productions that they put on Ive never had complaints with, usually its with the food selection they offer or the occasional service, but my last 2 visits have had great service.
Went with my daughter to see Cat in the Hat as part of their daytime kid shows and she absolutely loved it. The characters also came around afterwards and signed autographs. The performance was great, the cast did a fantastic job. The show was fairly short - I think about an hour for the whole thing, so it is easier for little ones to sit through than a full length movie. Would definitely go again.
Love the shows food is great the servers are kind and clear your plate right away. Your drinks don’t go empty they have wonderful coffee. I really love the show the actors are great and put on a great show for you there is no seat in the house that is a bad one
Great food, great service and great shows. I always lookf forward to going to another show. Definitely recommend this place even if it is on the pricier side. Definitely worth the money.
Love going to shows here. Not only is it a great value but the food is great, shows are top notch and the service is excellent! I definitely recommend experiencing Beef & Boards!
This was so amazing! The show was great! Food was delicious! The service was so friendly, and from start to finish it is a full experience. When you walk in theyve got the foyer decorated according to the show, and the gift shop has the shows theme as well. We had a full range of ages in our group as well, an eight year old, a fifteen year old, a twenty-three, forty-two, and a sixty-five year old and all of us just loved it! People get really into the theme, if you want to be a little dressed up (we saw the little mermaid and wore mermaid themed outfits) people wear themed clothes so you wont stand out. All in all the atmosphere was great and positive, the bathrooms were amazingly clean, and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. I suggest this to all ages of people!
This place is so awesome! The buffet was delicious, the service was great, and the show was fantastic! Its great for families and special occasions. Highly recommend!
Typical buffet style food, nothing to write home about. The service was very good. The servers were friendly and did a great job. The layout of the theater is very accommodating. The stage show was fantastic! The performers were wonderful and interacted with the audience, making us part of the show and not just observers!
Great place for a date night, with dinner and a show in the same place!
Fantastic place but my whole party left with a stomach ache except me. I was the only one who skipped the salad bar. The musical was great though, we saw a christmas story and it was very good. The cast was great!
Wonderful place. Saw the Christmas Story musical. Great show and great food. The price is worth the trip.
Plays are Great! Well done, good sound. Good is OK at best. Servers work hard but too few. Would definitely go again.
Im so happy that my daughter Barbs first real play (not college produced, not mini theatre) experience was this one. Lil Shop Of Horrors is hand down an amazing play. The actors and crew did an amazing job bringing this as alive as you can ever expect and more. Audrey sounds exactly like the real Audrey its amazing. Audrey2 plant is absolutely astonishing. Thank you for the amazing hospitality your food was amazing and this chocolate raspberry filled cake was scrumptious. Perfect measures of everything. Clean bathrooms, actually beautiful interior and nice bowl sinks with cool barn like faucets. Everything is superb. Better then some NewYork theatres. I most definitely suggest you to go see it. Staff gave their Looking forward to seeing Christmas Story (youll shoot your eye out) here this season
This was my first time to Beef and Boards but my mom has been several times. We saw The Little Mermaid. I thought our seats were great in the far corner down by the stage. The buffet was good but not great. Just normal cafeteria food. The play was good as well. I thought the Male lead Eric wasnt very strong. Scuttle and Ursula and Ariel were the best, very good part assignments for them. Bravo.
I really enjoy this venue. The show today was Buddy Holly and it was great! Beef N Boards never disappoints. The talent they bring to their shows is top notch. I highly recommend this place for a fun day/evening out!
The best place to see anything there. The help is very friendly and the dinner theater food is excellent. There is not a bad seat in this place. We went and seen The little mermaid and the actors are awesome and any show we have went to is very good. I would give this place 5 stars any day of the week.
Performances are amazing. We have gone twice now and both times the show blew us away. Food is mediocre and they cram too many people into the place to be comfortable.
Great show!! I saw Hairspray and it was fabulous!! The beef and some of the food was great! Some was not. The show itself was really good and exciting..
Kids show was the perfect length, especially for kids with short attention spans. Actors were great. The show was really cute. Definitely coming back!
Its a unique theater experience where you watch a live play and eat dinner in the same location. The staff is amazing. The servers and bussers are very efficient, bringing food and clearing tables methodically. The entertainers are talented and engaging. The food is served via buffet and is mediocre at best. They also have beer and cocktails. The tables are very small, especially with a group of four. Its family friendly, with shows for kids of all ages. I would highly recommend.
The show was great, the food was lacking. There were reasonable options for vegetarian and meat eaters both. The issue I had was the lack of flavor. The food was fairly bland and the cooked baby carrots were a weird texture. The experience overall was great though!
Food was ok at best chicken not done roast beef super dry show was ok not worth $71 a person will not do it again unless price drops I will drive to Tennessee for there shows
Wonderful performances. Great atmosphere. Good food. Excellent staff
Ive seen many shows here for years, and I always enjoy it. I got to see The Little Mermaid during their dress rehearsal. It was awesome! Its great fun for the whole family. If youre a fan of the Disney movie, youll love this play.
So far it has been good.
Food, staff, entertainment was great. Place is awesome Saturday night fever
The shows are well executed, but the space is so limited, and all they do are musicals. But the worst is their food bar. My 10 year old granddaughter cant find anything that she likes to eat except rolls and butter and chocolate pudding. Even my husband, who eats anything, cant eat most of it either. AND the BEEF (as in Beef and Boards) should be prohibited. Dry peices of leather that have no flavor and cant be chewed.
A must see! Dinner and a live play! We go as a group of 4 and enjoy the plays. The buffet is served before the show and its stocked with great food and choices! Not a place for small children but they do offer special plays for them on certain dates!
The food was good but the views of the stage arent the best. Most of the tables are rectangles and are arranged with the short end closest to the stage. This means that the 4 person tables have one guest trying to look past the other on their side of the table to see the show.
Good food, professional performance, good atmosphere and a pleasant experience.Recommend attending
Beef and Boards is a wonderful way to soend an evening. When you cant get to a Broadway play, Beef and Boards brings a bit of that culture right here to Indy. I have never had a bad time here. Even our grand daughter loves it, and has been for her birthdays 7,8 and 9 this year.
Our lunch at Beef and Boards was very good. Ive seen some complaints about their meals but I have no idea why. The salad bar had a good selection and the meat was cooked to perfection. The show of Little Mermaid was enjoyed by adults and children alike. My only complaint might be that I was cold even with a light jacket on during the show. Our service was good and everyone was friendly and helpful.Definitely they deserve 5 stars.
Love the atmosphere, the food, & most of the plays. I found the Christmas play to be the least entertaining show of the year. (saw it 3x) As a retiree, I can no longer afford to go.
Very good show and the food was great. Very professional actors and all the kids in the show did a great job acting and singing.
A Christmas story was absolutely amazing. It made me laugh and made me cry. The food was excellent. The service was great.
My bestfriend, her daughter and nieces and myself went to see Steele Magnolias. It was wonderful! Ive been want to go here for many many years, but it just seemed to happen. We were all greatly impressed with this adaptation. Wonderfully done! The actresses were amazing!Well worth the wait!! Cant wait to go again! The food is ok. Its not a big buffet, but theres enough to fill your belly. Little tip for newbies.. the earlier you get there the earlier you eat. Seating begins at 6 I believe, but you can line up I believe at 5 or 5:30 (not positive) They call you to dine by the time your tickets are received. We were unaware of this little fact lol. The closer you are to the front of the line to be seated, the earlier your table will be called to get in line for the buffet. Enjoy the show... I know we sure did!!
Great place to go for an evening if you are going down to Indianapolis or already live there. Nice buffet style dinner before the show and waiters and waitresses deliver drinks and desserts during the show intermission....My wife and I go to Indy two or three times a year and we always try to make a performance here. Also great seating, not a bad seat in the house.....plenty of parking!
What a truly fantastic experience! Took my wife last night as an 8th anniversary date, and it was her first time seeing a play. She now wants to join the VIP program! The food and dessert was absolutely delicious! The waiting staff were some of the most professional and polite staff Ive ever had the joy of having. The actors all did such an amazing job, you could really tell they put their heart and soul into their performances. Will definitely be coming back, time and time again!
Ive been here several times. The performances can be spotty, and tonights Saturday Night Fever was no exception. Parts were meh and others were absolutely electric. Most are very well done, but this was not entirely. One part seemed terribly contrived (and cant remember which, but was in the early first act). Overall, it was good. The service is always top notch and the meal was very good. I was impressed with the beef stroganoff and the baked chicken. The breaded shrimp was what you could get from the Gortons fisherman but I happen to like it, so it was fine. Im looking forward to seeing American In Paris, Newsies and Phantom Of The Opera.
Fantastic buffet and the plays are always so well done its now the second new years Eve there and may be the new family tradition
