Definitely worth the trip between million dollar houses and down steep slippery rocks. Very popular spot for sunrises and saw a few people fishing from.lower down as well. Be careful though the tide is strong against the rocks. If you go in youre probably not making it out without a few injuries.

Absolutely beautiful lookout. Would be a great place for a romantic picnic! It was a fairly steep incline to get down to tg he lookout/back up. Definately not something someone with bad knees could do. If youve been to China Wall this is a much more steep incline. I dont think pictures could do this place justice. Even the sound of the water crashing gave me goosebumps. Absolutely breathtaking!

Easy to get to. Beautiful views. Keep an eye out to the right and youll often be able to see a few sea turtles if you hang out long enough. The cave is really cool to see and can give you some awesome video. Its never been really crowded in the few times Ive gone. Take a short trip to China walls of youre in the area as well.

Beautiful scenery and fun for family.Slippery path getting down and coming back up. Make sure to have permission to park anywhere you park.No public restrooms so be prepared to hold it in while you do your mini photo shoots and maybe do a bit of safe swimming.WARNING!!! Must be an experienced swimmer and know how to navigate currents if you want to swim! But I still would not advise swimming.

Fantastic spot to view the cave from a small cliff. The waves bounce off the walls making the cave spit it back out. Great vistas of diamond head too. Lot of the kids like to jump off the cliff here but its dangerous as the shoreline is rocky and the ocean currents can be strong. Definitely not recommended. But you can get some cool pics and watch the water spray off the cliffs and cave. Its a short hike down. Steep in some spots but short. Its easily doable. Great spot to visit while on Oahu.

The location is a point on a cliff overlooking crashing waves below. There is a small cave down low that causes the waves to “spit” up, and it looks fantastic. This spot is at the very end of Lumahai Street. If it looks like you are lost in a residential neighborhood, you are in the right spot. There is a yellow marker with “119” on an empty lot, which is where you will enter.

A beyond beautiful place with incredible natural rock formations and a great view of the waves. There was nobody else there when we went, which made it particularly special in such a touristy area. Its a bit tricky to get down to (especially in the rain, like when we went) but well worth it.

I’ve been to this location twice; once on my own and the second time with my family with two children over the age of 10 years. It is a gorgeous place to visit responsibly. That means you respect the ocean and nature while doing it.You are entering a cliff area and the ocean conditions below are dangerous unless you are trained for them.Beautiful spot for photography. A must-see-spot if you are one.Wear more than flip flops for footwear and please don’t go cliff jumping at this spot for Instagram fame. Far too many people have needlessly died at this location from either mistiming their jump hitting the cliff wall on the way down or drowning.

Directions? Trust Google Maps. The entrance is a very small steep dirt path next to houses. There is a tiny sign. Park where you can; but, be respectful. This is deep residential. Note: Once you get passed the first steep 100 feet down, the path opens onto sloping cliffs that go on and on. Wear shoes good for climbing and you’ll be glad you did. Flip flops should NOT be worn here, if you want to go around much.

Hidden Gem!The path is tucked between two residences and fairly steep. It was muddy on the day we visited because it rained the night before.Wear good shoes or barefoot to head down.Once you reach the bottom the view is absolutely breathtaking!!! Breath taking views, best views and picture taking during mid day but caution its very tricky going down the path to see this beautiful place so please use your own discretion when going down the path and when going back up its also much more harder when going back up. I do not recommend young children going down there cause its very dangerous as for young teens its up to the parents to decide if its safe for them( sorry young ones and teens Im only looking out for everyones safety). I recommend using shoes when going here...there is street parking in a quiet safe neighborhood. Overall the reward is breathtaking Have a much Aloha stay.

Steep climb down, but very quick and not terribly difficult. A kid could do it, but not someone who cant bend and climb well. The view at the bottom is breathe taking. We went at sunset and that was an added bonus. One guy was cliff jumping while we were there right in front of mouth of the cave. I would not recommend doing this though. Big crashing waves right into rocks. Park right on the street in neighborhood and walk down little path between the houses on the water side. You will see signs warning you of dangers.

The entrance is near #6 Lumhai. Its a short, rocky and steep trail littered with shards of broken beer bottles. The trail is about 30 yards long and after you get past that, the views are totally worth it. Ive seen people recommend cliff diving here but I wouldnt suggest it. The waves were very strong and the rocks are jagged.

A beautiful photo spot on a clear sunny day. It gets a little dangerous on the walk down as its muddy, and slippery on the rocks. There is a fence and some chains to hold onto on the way down. Just take it slow because the view is worth it. The unique rock formations are a sight alone to see. Once in a while you can catch a whale or a monk seal hanging around the area. If you go during high surf, this is a great spot to watch the waves crash. I dont recommend jumping off the rocks like some do but if youre feeling brave enough, go ahead. This is a residential area you are parking in to access this spot so be respectful to the residents.

Spitting cave... I can’t believe we found it. My husband looked for it on google maps. We drove to some residential area, parked on a street and then squeezed between two houses. One of the most mesmerizing and picturesque places. The water is a perfect turquoise on a sunny day, and it is thrilling to see the waves smash against the cave and spit out again. Spitting Cave is amazing! Its truly an ideal place for cliff jumping, but please be cautious. As noted by the placards at the top of the cliff, people have died here. With that said, the water is deep enough for jumps, at least 20 feet deep. The cliff is about 50 to 70 feet above the water depending from which place you jump (There are numerous ledges to jump from lower down). The cave is adequately named, water is sucked in and is blown out when the pressure builds up high enough. Patience is key to this Cliff Jump. It is best to wait when the water is completely calm before jumping. Please do your research before jumping.

Stunning site. It’s basically a large rock face that has been worn down by waves that you *carefully* climb down until you can see the spitting cave. The cave is at the sea level so that when a wave enters it, the top of the cave spits the water out into the air. WARNING: this is not your typical tourist site. There are no handrails, no guardrails and no trails. If you fall or slip down the surface there is risk of death.

Amazing place. Loved it! If you are going there for the first time, ask a local or your Uber/Lyft driver to drop you at the exact point. The entry to the caves is a narrow path which looks dangerous. Look through pictures to match the starting point for the cave. Its just 3-4 mins hike, bit slippery and risky so climb cautiously. But its really worth the effort, beautiful and serene. The only noise you will hear is the sound of waves. I couldnt get enough of it and ended up staying till the sun set. When we went there, few photo shoots were going on and we had a chance to look at the photos, they were super amazing. This place was kind of tricky to find at first, since the entrance is a walkway between two houses before a cul-de-sac. The path down can be sketchy if you have bad knees (definitely not a leisurely walk down) and slippery if wet (during or just after it rains). I was wearing a new pair of Nike running shoes and it was slippery towards the bottom of the path after stepping in a small puddle (soles had no grip when wet). Once at the bottom, it opens up to a spectacular view of the ocean. Its kind of like standing on the rocks on Hālona Blowhole (beyond the guard rails), but higher up. People who live in the area are so lucky to have this place right in their backyard. Great for just hanging out to relax, take in the great views, take pictures, and especially watching the sunset.

You access this area through a neighborhood and park on the street. There is a fairly steep access trail between houses down to the cliff area which takes about 5 minutes to walk. If your cliff jumping locals say it is better to do it in the winter when the waves are not as strong on that side of the island. Better be a strong swimmer and in good shape as you have to climb out over the rocks, or a ladder to right depending on the currents weather you can get to it. A guy in his twenties lost his life there a few days before we went to check it out. My sons were considering jumping but decided it was too risky that day.
