It was a sunset cruise and we were lucky with the weather. The staff was fun and very attentive, the food was delicious and plenty. One drink was free but the rest was very reasonably priced.We can highly recommend them, SO MUCH FUN,WORTH EVERY PENNY!

We took the dinner sunset cruise for our anniversary. It was breathtaking and you could actually see that the staff enjoyed their jobs. Buffet dinner and you can buy a plastic cup with a lid and straw for unlimited refills. I also liked the feeling that it wasnt overcrowded. They can only take about 25 people (I think) so it felt very intimate. It was a great way to end our day.

Nice 2 hour voyage. Would highly recommend. Water, food, crew, and time was great. 3 crew operation was exceptional. We would book them again whenever we are back on Oahu.

Seriously, if I could give 6 stars I would do so. The fun in the sun sail was the best experience of our afternoon. Weather perfect, sea turtle and dolphins on cue. The staff and beverage service were great. A great investment in an experience for young and old alike.

Excellent crew that really treated us special for our sunset Cruise. They made sure to speed out for a chance to see whales(mid January) and we did. The food was delicious and although buffet style still warm and fresh. The weather was a bit calm for sailing but with the motor and stiff drinks no one really cared. One of my best experiences on my vacation. It was just so beautiful and relaxing. The crew was very nice. And I have to appreciate how nice they were because we had an Excursion that ended at 12 p.m. and this catamaran ride we had scheduled at 1 p.m. and I didnt realize how much traffic was going to hold us up. We literally pulled up to the catamaran at 12:58. When check-in was at 12:30. So I was very grateful that they were still so nice to us considering how late we were. The bartender was amazing. And the drinks were great. We got to see turtles and dolphins. And it was just a really great ride. Definitely spend the money and go. Its worth it

Thank you Makani Catamaran for splendid Sunset Cruise.Everything that was promised was delivered in an understated and professional way.The seamanship,the ship and the crew were all top notch.The food and drinks were excellent and matched venue of of eating on an active moving boat, also delicious.There is plenty of room to move around, many seating and standing options too.A catamaran by nature is a more steady platform so you won’t have the rolling of a mono hull.I highly recommend this boat and crew for the most excellent Sunset Cruise.

So much fun to go sailing with these guys and gals. The bar on board makes the best amaretto sour, drink half then top it off with pineapple juice. The wind at your face as you glance back at Diamond Head and Waikiki make this such a memorable moment. Thanks to the crew for a great time.

This was so much fun! We booked an early evening trip and it was beautiful. You start off listening to the normal rules and safety precautions. They do provide buckets for those of you who get seasick!You get beautiful views. The wind was blowing so it wasnt too hot. The only downside is that theres not a lot of shady places and after a while, you feel that sun draining you. We got lucky and were able to see some whales while we were out there. They were a little off in the distance, but you cant help but enjoy seeing wildlife like that.A lot of people brought their own food which was surprising to me that they allow that. They only ask you to clean up after yourself, which I think is totally understandable. There were plenty of places to sit and relax. The crew was extremely friendly as well. They walked around talking to everyone getting to know everybody and it felt like hanging out with old friends.I cant say enough good things about this!

I cant say enough wonderful things about the staff on this boat. They were amazing! My son was sea sick the entire trip and they did everything they could to make us more comfortable. The boat itself is nice, the food was good, and the drinks were even better. Definitely worth the money.

Nice and clear sailing boat. All the crew was friendly and helpful. As our sail was post noon, many people did throw up during the sail, but the crew was carefully watching for anyone who was even showing symptoms or seemed like they probably werent feeling great. They served chilled alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for few dollars which was great on the hot day. They showed us few turtles, but we didnt see any other dishes during our sail.

We had a fun time on the catamaran with the crew. We saw a couple sea turtles on the way out today but unfortunately no whales were spotted. The crew was entertaining and there are bathrooms and a full bar on board (alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages offered for an additional charge). A great way to see Honolulu/Waikiki/Diamond head from the sea and enjoy the ocean.

My wife and I went on the dinner cruise and it was a very cool experience. The crew was very friendly, the food was good, and the boat rode was actually quite smooth. We weren’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be a really nice time for both of us and we would recommend checking this out.

Excellent cruise with a great crew. Saw several turtles near one of the reefs in Honolulu harbour. The view of the city and Diamond Head from the middle of the harbour was worth it.

We had an absolutely awesome time. 2 hours of beautiful relaxation on the water.

It was amazing to see Honolulu from the ocean and get the experience of what if feels like to be on a catamaran. My only complaint would be the price, for what you pay for you dont get a lot in the way of food or beverages.

Food was good, staff was friendly, and view of the coast is fantastic. A very nice way to spend an evening!

Great night cruise, tasty food, and awesome drinks. I had the Blue Hawaiian with coconut rum. The food was buffet style and was excellent. The best meal I had on this type of excursion and I’ve been on several. Had me smacking my lips it was so good!! Side note...the seas in Hawaii can be rough. The only bad time on this cruise was dodging the people who got sick. And no, it wasn’t the food and it was a really calm night. So please, if you have a sensitive stomach just stay home....don’t ruin it for everyone

Very fun to go out sailing on the ocean around Waikiki bay. I put sailing in quotes because we were only able to use engine power since they said the winds were too strong to put up the sails. We got to see a couple of whale spouts and 2 green sea turtles. I wish they had some selections of snacks to purchase, but they only had drinks. I think they need more options for seating forward facing out in the open front of the boat. The only space was on a net over the water with some cushions along the back. I didnt get to try if they were comfortable because they were all occupied by others before we could choose our seats. I ended up standing most of the time in the front little nook (I dont know what to call the space there) so that I could feel the sea breeze and see the sights. There was inside covered seating but it was hard to see anything and was a little stuffy.

The staff was amazing. Very thorough in their safety briefing and very friendly. I really enjoyed the snorkeling tour. Although I was hoping to see more turtles in an area called turtle cove. The catamaran was spacious and comfortable. The day we went on the tour, it was a bit windy and so the waves were very rocky so a few people got sea sick but the staff was very helpful and understanding of the fact. I would definitely recommend Makani Catamaran and their snorkeling tour.

Had a lot of fun on this dinner cruise! Was about $50 a person, steak, potatoes salad and shrimp were served. With maitais to drink! The sunset was gorgeous, the water was beautiful and the City view stunning. The night cap was fireworks. The crew for a fantastic job and the family had a fabulous time.

We hopped on board the sunset sail and were totally blown away with the ohana feeling the 3-man crew gave us! Great people, food and views!

First impressions were not good. The lady who checked us in was extremely rude (she was upset about some policy change. She was yelling about it with another employee.) They demand you get there at 430pm and dont let you board till 5p. Honestly, you can get there at 445p and have plenty of time to spare. The rest of the crew made the experience amazing! Food was decent and the drink prices were super reasonable. I/we would do it again. I did not do this cruise but i would not recommend paying the extra money (if you have the go Oahu card) for the fireworks cruise. The Waikiki fireworks are about 5 minutes long and do not justify the extra $50.

My Wife and I had the most amazing 2 hour trip. The staff members are professional, yet fun and full of energy. Please make sure they sing to you during the trip. It was a fun way to enjoy the Ocean and the beach from a different view.

My wife and I took the Honolulu City Lights Sunset Dinner Sail on our Anniversary and we had a fantastic time. The crew was outstanding, very friendly and accommodating. The food was much better than I expected from a buffet on a sailboat with a staff of 3 people, very nice. The drinks were well made and not watered down. Of course the highlight was the scenery! It was very cloudy, so the sunset was not the most spectacular, but regardless of that the trip was amazing. Even with the clouds the sunset was beautiful, and the views of the ocean and city line were incredible. I dont know what could have made this a better experience, very well done!

Take motion sickness pills the night before if you tend to get sea sick. Dont wait until youre on the boat. It is rocky. Try staying grounded on the deck. Upper deck is better. Good fun though, as long as you dont get sick. Staff is friendly.

Great experience with these folks. They let me and my friends bring some rods on the boat and helped us land some big boys. Couldnt be more grateful

Waves were too high to be able to snorkel and see the turtles. No problem there, they told us we could have a rain check for a later date or we would get a 50% refund. We ended up just sailing around off the coast of Honolulu for three hours, which of course was cool. Only complaint is that they only gave us a 30% refund instead of 50% like we were told.

Got the Go Oahu card for our trip and reserved a catamaran boat cruise from Makani. Super relaxing after a long day at the beach. Nice and breezy and included free drink voucher. There’s a bar on board.

First time NYE cruise. The crew was a blast and really helped set the mood. We had an excellent spot for the fireworks show. A definite must-do for Waikiki on New Years!

Amazing daytime boat ride! Beautiful views, super friendly crew! Drinks are super cheap too which is a bonus. At one point, they stopped the motor and we were going on just wind power with the sail and it was amazing! Super bumpy and wavy and you get splashed so careful if you get seasick. Definitely 100% recommend!

Nice two hour tour. We bought the go card Oahu and used that. Had we not had the go card we probably would not have spent the money on the tour. Unfortunately the only sea life we saw were a couple sea turtles bobbing in the water. They have a bar on board so you can buy drinks. Pretty views of the shoreline.

Did the afternoon trip, not a dinner cruise. Drinks were reasonably priced. It was a nice sail, first we motored by a group that was snorkeling with sea turtles and did manage to spot a couple, then out under sail some dolphins frolicked out in front of the boat before speeding under us and away. Great views of Honolulu and a relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Bring your sunblock though! And maybe something for shade while you’re waiting to check in, the marina is very sunny and hot.

This trip was just OK. Nothing special. They call it a sailing excursion but there really is no sailing at all. It is a catamaran and people can sit pretty much wherever they want on the boat but the sails never go up and all you hear is the diesel engines pushing you through the water. There’s a small bar which serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks but no other food. We were able to spot a couple of turtles which was nice but the last 30 minutes or so it seems like we were all itching just to be done with the tour.

Really boring sail out of downtown Honolulu. Motored the whole way, no education, non-interactive staff. If youve never been on a boat, this might be exciting or fun for you.

Took a Catamaran reservation. They told us to arrive 30 minutes early and left us in the beating sun for 40 minutes before boarding. When asking the check in staff when we would be boarded, we were given a lot of attitude. Staff aboard were much better.

The boat ride was good and the two crew members were amazing and friendly. The captain, however, was not. My son got nervous when crossing the rolling ramp and tried to side step it. He made a comment, theres medicine for that. So instead of remembering the views and experience on the water, we remember the snide comment to an 11 year old boy. There may be medicine for impulsivity but theres no medicine that helps a grown man who says rude comments to kids. Again, the crew were amazing at helping everyone and were super polite and attentive but the captain, not so much.

Hopefully you’ll have a better experience, but the sails were down for most of our trip so we just kind of drifted. Which is still nice because you’re on the water looking at Waikiki from the water, but I don’t think we even reached our reef destination before turning around and coming back 20 minutes early with no explanation. Massive disappointment.

Went for their dinner/sunset sail using go oahu package. They provide a complimentary small cup of drink/cocktail. You may top up USD8 for a souvenir cup with unlimited refills. Dinner is buffet type with around 5 types of food provided. The weather wasnt good on that day so there were no sunset witnessed. The whole sail took around 1.5hours. With go oahu card, it is worth to go if weather is good. If not, expect to pay about USD93 for an adult.

The tour was absolutely breathe taking. Beautiful views, good food and amazing staff. The crew was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I would take this tour again and again.

First of all, I had no idea what a Catamaran was and I went on it because it wa already organized for my group. I knew it was a boat of sorts but I could not have imagined what it looked like, so obviously I was surprised when I saw what it looked like. It was a great experience on the boat and the crew was extremely helpful and kind to us all. On our boat trip we were lucky enough to see a few whales in the ocean, and the crew was happy to point out when they were about to surface so we could all get a good look at them. At the end of the boat trip when we began to make our way to land, the crew did something unorthodox and allowed us to jump off the back of the boat and swim around. One of the crew members found a sea urchin and let us hold it in our hands which is a feeling I will never forget. Overall the catamaran was a great experience.
