I thought there would be more original stuff. There was a neat calligraphy ink exhibit, but there were a lot of things that were stylized and not the real thing...like a digital print. I reckon its better than nothing because I would never google these art pieces and it exposes people to these artists, but I was bummed. They do have rotating exhibits though. Their Art After Dark is fun. Lately its gotten rowdier though.

Always visit this museum when I’m in HI. Some lovely collections and always seems to have a small but beautifully curated textile exhibit. The food in the cafe is an excellent reason to stop for lunch; it’s great! The museum store has a diverse collection of treasures to choose from, either as a souvenir or gift for loved ones. All in all a world class museum; worth a visit!

You need to see how many different types of art there is in this Museum. Do people create art!!!!! Through there own experiences? Is it through our tragedys? The amount of admission was 20$ Then the sky is the limit the second you see the coffee shop. I had a very tasty Mocha triple shots of course. The moment I entered the Museum of amazing culture and works of art I met the very friendly and helpful staff Ive ever had the privilege to meet. No visitor will ever leave the Museum without getting all their questions answered and of course a very helpful map. I still managed to get lost on The way out. I took 32 photos of the museum 1 in every exhibit. If your in the area and want to caught up in our Unique culture differences this is a must see.

A real gem! So much amazing artwork! From early Roman to contemporary and all the good stuff in between!! The docents are knowledgeable and articulate - I learned so much and it just felt like a pleasant conversation. In addition to the art (Western, Asian from East to South and other cultures), the building is gorgeous with lots of little garden nooks. A coffee shop, gift shop and cafe round it all off. The perfect place to spend a rainy day.

Went to the Museum during our trip to Hawaii. Our hotel, Alohilani (also fantastic) provides free entry to the museum with room key. My husband and I had a great afternoon exploring the exhibits in the outdoor museum. There was a new exhibit highlighting African American artists, which was being led by one of the museums educators, which was informative and fun. There is a yummy little cafe and a cute coffee shop in case you need a snack!

The museum was our first stop before our tour of the Shangri La house so we walked around some of the exhibits. A lot of great pieces, statues, carvings, pottery, and more. It doesnt take long to walk from room to room.
