A scenic spot to see the blowhole and if lucky you could catch a glimpse of whales or turtles. It’s very windy there make sure hold onto your hats or scarfs. There are not that many parking spots but just stay there and wait as people don’t stay there for too long.
Great scenic views. Blowhole would just shoot out a mist when we went. Maybe need to wait for high tide
Great place to stop if your driving past. We were lucky to come on a day where the ocean was quite rough. This made for great activity coming from the blowhole. You dont really need to spend more than 15/20 minutes here as apart from the blowhole and views there isnt much else to see. The car park is quite small but has a high turnover rate so you wont be waiting long for a space.
Always beautiful to see the ocean from here. It was a windy day, so didnt see any whales, but there was a turtle ... and the blowhole was putting on a show!
Awesome breathtaking views. Paradise beach is really nice too. The currents are high and the floor has a lot of sharp rocks. But this tiny beach is specially beutiful. The sound of the waves crashing against the gigantic volcanic rock is very relaxing.
Great place to hit on the weekend. If you enjoy a good scenic ride, you will love getting to this spot. Great diving either way you go (left or right) if you sip on some tiny bubbles from time to time. Its best when the whales are running to listen to them sing while you search for sunrise shells!
This is a great stop especially if you catch the waves at the right time so that they are large enough to produce a plume through the blowhole. It is a very popular stop so it may be difficult to get a direct view, but we enjoyed the stop. There is a pretty treacherous drop of though if you wander out past the railing and there were swimmers in the sea at the base of the neighboring point, but the waves could launch you into the rocks so be warned. Parking is pretty good if not crowded.
Gorgeous spot, we saw a pod of whales off of the coast. The cove was picturesque and the blowhole didnt disappoint...highly recommended. Get there early for parking or wait for a spot. Must be aggressive in getting parking spots though as people will try to steal a spot from you even if youve been waiting with signal on.
These pictures do not do justice to the blowhole. Unfortunately the rest are videos. The thing is impressive. However it’s easy to spend 1 hr at this stop if you decide to go down close to the blowhole. It’s about 15-20 minutes going down then another going back up plus the time spent close to the blowhole.
This is a beautiful place that you must visit if you are visiting Oahu, the views from the lookout are stunning, there are some signs that indicate that you cannot go beyond that point but some people go down to the rocks and the small beach, I went down and I just have to say that it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, this place is beautiful, the water crash into the rocks and the natural walls of rocks that round the beach look awesome. Perfect to take some pictures. Some people just prefer to stay seated at the sand watching the blue water. The hiking is a little bit slippery but Im sure you can make it to see this beauty of the nature. You must come here. Its awesome. Parking could be a challenge but it worth the wait. 5/5 ️️️
This is actually really good spot to go check out. There is a beach depending on the water so bring your suit. Its just pretty and fun to look at.my photos are from both sides and on top where there is some sort of offering that has no info with it... If you could tell me what it is Ill be greatfull
Picture-perfect. Obviously. If you’re only visiting O’ahu for a short while, it’s a must on your to-witness list. Even if your travels allow for an extended stay, you’re goin to want to just BE here, often. It’s beauty and sort-of-privacy, (so close yet so far from the roadway it hugs), lure filmmakers, photographers, families and underwater adventure seekers. Check the web for any warnings that may be posted, weather and surf wise, to get the most out of a good snorkeling visit. Aloha & enjoy!
One of the coolest spots to visit. A scenic drive there, a wonderful time to be had upon arrival, and a nice little beach to swim at if the tide permits.
Such a beautiful place stop and see if any whales are passing by. We went during whale season, but we didnt see any whales pass by. Still a breathtaking view to behold.
Beautiful place . We were lucky to find parking.on busy days parking might be very difficult. Difficult to turn in to the lot. Appears quickly out of nowhere.
Stunningly beautiful vistas and contrasting terrain. This spot shows exactly what it means to be on an Hawaiian island. Large volcanic hills covered in green, deep rocky inlets and beaches with volcanic rock and sand shores. What a site. Of course, being a tourist spot its often quite busy at the parking/vista location. So, make sure you come early enough to beat the crowd and maybe catch a sunrise/sunset.
Absolute marvel to watch! Its not only a unique sight to see but to hear as well! The view of the sea is amazing and my wife and I were fortunate enough to be able to hike our way down to the private/public beach. There are no stairs to get down there but if the locals are there, so are we! Great relaxing spot to be at!
The lookout is beautiful... but the sand and the rocks and the waves are amazing! The little baby hike to get down here is worth it...
Beautiful place for a quick stop. Easy to park. Views were perfect. Blowhole is not easy to spot but awesome when you do see it. I also saw a few turtles down in the gorgeous blue water.
Gorgeous view, easy to find. If youre able the climb down is awesome.
Great spot for photos or a beach down the side of a cliff if you are brave!
A very nice and scenic place. Looks like yours come here all the time and Maui is visible in the distance through a beautiful ocean and backdrop of the sky.
Stunning views and the freshest air Ive breathed in a while very relaxing
There are no words!!! how beautiful and serene this place is. Right next to Eternity Beach. Extreme tourist spot but worth the picturesque view. The breeze, company and water is so crystal blue. A must see..
We came, we saw, but it didn’t blow you have to come when there is big enough waves and the right tide to see it. This is still a nice spot for the view
Decent amount of parking and even if its full the turnover is pretty fast so with minimal patience youll get a spot. While the actual action depends on the wave action, direction and even tide it can range from minimal to amazingly large spouts of water. But even if its not going you can still catch some amazing views of Destiny Beach and Sandy Beach.Definitely worth a quick stop.
The view from here is beautiful. On a clear day you can see Molokai in the distance. If you are inclined you can climb down to a small beach on the right side, ignoring the do not pass signs. The climb down to the beach isnt to bad and the climb up and around the rocky area is doable, though your hand or feet may get roughed up as it all lava rock. We were not equipped to swim in the water today, but several families were. We also were privileged to see a sea turtle in the water. There is also a small cave the runs under the road, but is very short and has some glass on the ground, and if course its lava rock so be prepared if you want to go through it.
Kind of confused, didnt see why they called it a blow hole, didnt see any there. Maybe its the timing we went. Gorgeous ocean views and the sand is great. There was a little cove that was perfect for swimming, a pretty deep cave, and we seen crabs and some other sea life. Cant ever complain about the views you get in Hawaii. Really windy on this did of the island, again that may have just been our timing. Would love to come back here and swim the cove!
Great quick stop. The blowhole is awesome, but it’s intensity depends on the waves that day.
Brilliant views! The colors in the ocean the wants and the sounds were all perfect. The bow hole added a new dimension of are and wonder. Must visit and stop as many spots as you can along this coastline.
Nice view you can walk down to a small beach jump off the rocks into the water. The walk down is not to bad but if you have stability issues I would recommend it.
Pretty views just wish people would follow rules and not go where it says not to when they do it ruins others photos.
Quick walk down the stairs to get to the beach. Love to get out in the water.
Hidden gem...we know it as Eternity Beach as well as Halona. They filmed From here to Eternity black & white movie here...gorgeous scenes on the sand ....and so beautiful!
Its awesome especially when the waves come in and it spouts out of a hole in the rocks. Awesome view of a sandy beach nearby too.
Amazing! Thanks to Mark at Aaloha Hawaiian tour he showed us some Amazingly beautiful places
A good stop point! If you are lucky, you would be able to see the blow hole active. The area around it is beautiful too!!
It was such an amazing sight to witness. Got to trek down the path a little to see cool layers of rock and feel the splash from the ocean. Definitely a great little treat next to the highway and won’t take up too much of your busy holiday schedule :)
This is a beautiful scenic lookout. To the left you can stand above the blowhole and watch and to the right you can walk down to a small wave pool inlet. The blowhole is not very big in the summer, its more impressive at high tide in the fall or spring months. Still a neat spot but not very much parking.
Amazing view and cool breeze
So wonderful .i hope everyone can get to see this one time in their life.
OMG I really enjoy this scene. The water was very pretty
This is one of those scenic spots that makes you feel both on top of the world and terrifyingly small in the same breath. I live on Oahu yet keep returning to this tourist-filled spot because it’s so well-placed. Parking can be a little tough sometimes with tour buses cycling through, but it turns around quickly, so if you’re willing to cycle around a couple of times you’ll get a spot even when it’s busy.
So much fun to watch!! Definitely recommend the trip out there.
Do not miss this spot, go down to the ocean
So cool! Convenient pull off. The blowhole is visible from a lot of different vantage points so it didn’t feel like people were crowding to get a good look. It was sort of hard to predict when the blowhole would blow, which made it even more fun! Even on a windy and rainy day.
The scenery is beautiful, the blowhole itself isn’t too impressive but the spot is worth the travel and we spotted there a giant whale on the sea! Amazing
We had a lot of fun here, climbing down to the blowhole and getting close-up pictures were really cool. The ocean was a bit rough which made for some great pictures of the waves crashing into the rocks and out of the blowhole and the local beach. Apparently, Hawaiians are born with body boards attached, at every beach they were having a blast doing thing I could only dream of... They are really talented and are great swimmers as well which makes since we were on an island...duh
Nice view of the ocean.
I love this freaking place. Here in Washington and Oregon there are many places such as this. Water is alive, rocks are black and have character. Perfect place to shoot a wedding. Had an amazing time with my girl here.
Stunning views! The hidden beach is a gem. It was a bit busy when we went in the early afternoon. The waves can be a bit rough and there are lots of rocks. So if you swim, be careful! Theres a small rock face that people were jumping off of into the water.
Great views and great place for pictures. The parking is small and always busy. There’s a few pullover/lookout areas around the actual blowhole lookout worth stopping at especially if the parking is full. We stoped just a bit before the actual blowhole and we’re very happy we did great pictures were had. There are signs to not cross barrier but the cop in the lot doesn’t stop anyone from actually going over so BE CAREFUL it can be treacherous especially when raining or just wet. There was a few people at the spot where we stoped keep your eyes open for these lookouts in the area and if you can get a parking spot definitely go exploring a bit it’s well worth it.
What can I say, just look at the photo.
Beautiful scenery and very easy to find. The parking lot entrance is right off the main highway and usually not very crowded around lunchtime.
Nice viewpoint. Theres an accessible tiny beach on the right with some clear, beautiful water.
Omg is amazing lookout. Beautiful place
Beautiful must see the view! Water is a crystal baby blue!
We loved it! When you are driving around the island it’s a nice place to make a quick stop. There are so many cool different things to see on Oahu and this blowhole is one of them. Very entertaining:-) You don’t have to make a special trip to this lookout, but if you are in the area just stop for a moment.
Its so cool to look at even from the lookout point, but the more fun thing is technically illegal and if you choose to do it realize you are trespassing and any injuries or death that may happen are purely your fault. But death is unlikely though a few scratches may occur.
Awesome view! It is definitely worth visiting it. There is a parking right by the Lookout.
So pretty and a must to see when on Oahu.
Smaller than weve seen on other island. But still a pretty stop. We saw some whales from here too. There is small beach that was always busy when we stopped by. Lots of parking.
Incredible views!!! Just a lovely place
Such a nice place to see what Hawaii has to offer. The view is breathtaking.
Made a quick stop and did see a few whale spouts. Scenery is beautiful as well.
Absolutely beautiful place for a sunset, even if it is on the opposite side of the island. The colors that come out are absolutely astounding!
Definitely, a sight to see while on Oahu. Absolutely beautiful pictures can be taken here and the blow hole was fun to watch. There is a small Beach down below that is accessed via a small path. We happened to see a Sea Lion during our visit. This spot is one of the larger scenic photo ops on this highway, so access is very easy.
Good spot to enjoy for about 10 minutes! Free parking, maybe about 40 spots.
A really neat spot to visit, but its much better when the tide is higher. The scenic drive along the coast is my favorite and the blowhole is a nice way point on that drive. When the tide is low, you can also hike down near the blowhole.
Wicked cool, definitely worth a stop when going around the island.
The Halona blowhole lookout is soon after the Hanauma bay in the scenic highway. The blowhole can be accessed and its like a small hidden beach with small cliffs ideal for diving into the water and it has enough shade or sun according to your choice.Parking is quite difficult, during peak, so if you stay nearby its best to take cab or bus.
A very good parking lot!Viewing areas.
Went here on March 19 20 during the CoronaCrisis while it was closed. Amazing views, there were people swimming in the little Bay area to the right of the lookout. You arent supposed to be there, and I dont condone breaking the law. However I paid a lot of money to be here, so Ill do what I can here to do. If (which you shouldnt...) Go here during the shutdown, accidently walk down, very beautiful place you may stumble into. Dont break the law.
Very cool. Kind of a private little cove right by it that is spectacular!!
This place is a beautiful stop on your travels around the island. The views are fantastic! I didnt get a great shot of the blow hole in action but the rest of the scenery was awesome.
This kind of beauty needs no words because there are no words to adequately descibe the sheer magnitude of the perfect place. Go see for yourself and be awed by the magnificence of nature!
Beautiful and amazing scenery. Blowhole and Beach or easy to walk down and accessible.
Pretty neat to see the blowhole, but its just an overall amazing view. Parking can get a bit hairy, but most visitors arent here a very long time, so it clears quickly.
Good scenic stop off for your Oahu island round trip. Can get windy here.
The wind and waves are crazy and quite often you will see the water coming out of the blowhole. We saw some people going down the rocks and even swimming but not sure if that was legal since we didnt see any stairs to go down there. But definitely do a nice drive on Highway 72 then stop by this photo-worthy spot!
Really fun stop on our journey to the north of the island.Gorgeous water a day and dramatic waves make for great pictures! My pregnant wife said (emphatically I might add) NO to climbing down to the beach below! I wasnt overly upset about this as it was quite the climb up and down!If you want a good picture of the blowhole, put your phone away because thats the only time it seemed to blow! Haha
Great quick trip from Waikiki, several great lookouts on the way here so make sure to stop frequently
As advertised, its a blow hole! We stopped twice... Once while the surf was high and windy, which made the blow hole more exciting as it shot water very high! Second time, was during low tide and we got to hike down (past the danger, dont go beyond this point sign) to the waters edge. Very cool tunnel that goes under the highway (need a light). And the sea turtles were enjoying the Rocky edge to the right of the blow hole. They were pretty active, diving down for a bit and returning for a quick gasp of air.
Beautiful place already, but seeing the the blow hole eruption was exciting!
Beautiful view and exciting to see the water came out of tge blowhole. Theres a path down to the little Sandy beach that is a short easy walk (even though theres a danger sign at the beginning of the path). We went down for a completely different view of the area, which was wonderful, but go down at your own discretion.
Beautiful. You can see Molokai from here too!
Gorgeous beach, known as halona, cockroach cove, or eternity beach. They filmed the classic movie From here to eternity here. The waves can be to rough to swim on big days, as the cove is quite narrow. Best in the mornings to midday before the sun hides behind the large cliffs. 5 minute walk down a steep path to arrive, so not the best for people not wanting to climb down the rock walls.
Beauty at its best.
Go to the right and there is a beautiful beach below.
Super windy, it is easy to find and have a parking lots to stop by
Really cool place to visit. If you dont mind doing a little climbing you can get right up next to the blowhole. The beach is small but not crowded and tucked down in the rocks. Very relaxing!
