Our first time today and the kiddos had so much fun finding some cute crystals. The stuff was very nice and honored my coupons I had, one from them and one from a competitor that they doubled!My kids enjoyed feeding the goats and looking around in their shop. Behind the store there is a small creek with picnic tables where we had lunch.A fun day for sure!

Really a gem of a mine!! Prices are very reasonable. This was my second trip there. Staff is always friendly and very helpful. They do get busy, so please have some patience!! All are salted buckets, so its not like youre sifting through virgin soil, but with two children, this is the place for us!! You really get a lot of bang for your buck in the buckets. Also, the gift shop is just as amazing and again, very reasonable prices. I would suggest anyone looking for a quick day trip to check them out!!

The kids had a blast here. Every rock they found was something special to them. The prices are competitive with anyone else around but the will also double any coupons that you find. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly also.

Was my first time gem mining. Everyone was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had an awesome time shopping, mining and browsing. Easily spent two hours here! Heather was the best cashier and jeweler I have encountered thus far. I will be bringing my friends here again. Everything was very reasonably priced as well. Enough items to please people from all walks of life. I am so happy I chose this gem mine to end our vacation!

The people at Elijah Gem Mine are awesome. Super friendly, welcoming and kind staff. The kids LOVE it there. We are some of the lucky ones that live close by and get to visit on a pretty regular basis. Our kids love the ruffage buckets - its such a fun and memorable experience for all of us. For todays visit we bought a gem bucket to go and the kids had a blast getting to discover their gems right at home on the front porch. Go check them out! You will not he disappointed!

The staff was so super nice and welcoming! The items for sale were breathtaking. And very reasonably priced. The Butterfly garden was so sweet. And even though I shared a small bucket with a friend, I left with lots of crystals, stones and gems from the gem mine. Loved this placee and might start going this way more often to have a stop by here.

The prices are great and the staff are very friendly and generous. They gave me a free bottle of water when I almost passed out from the heat, and ive been given free or discounted rocks from the shop every time ive visited. Ive found amazing gems in the cheaper buckets including several rubies, emeralds, and garnets, and several other unique crystals. Its a great place if you enjoy geology and have some time.

This was a great experience! The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our whole family enjoyed a big bucket and found so many treasures— very good haul for the price! We highly recommend and may have to make another visit ourselves!

I highly recommend this place for people of all ages. My group of 5 adults and 1 nine month old had a blast. The people working were friendly and extremely helpful. We got the Big Green Bucket and got multiple gems, geodes, and even a megalodon tooth. The gift shop is big and has beautiful stones and gems. They even have goats and a chicken that you can feed. Also, the entire building has a nice aesthetic and a fun atmosphere. Overall, Its a fun spot to add to your vacation, for both parents and kids.

What a great place! We had been tubing In the rain on Davidson River all morning. As we headed home to Denver, NC, we saw the gem mining. We fed the goats and chickens, fed the butterflies and bought a large bucket of sand, gems and fossils. Our six year old grandson was beyond excited as we discovered one colorful rock after another. We had four bag of rocks and gems and a separate bag of fossils plus a geode that they cracked for us. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, we definitely will visit here again.️

Okay so 5 stars is not anywhere near enough for Joe from the Elijah Mountain Gem Mining. I came here for my 24th birthday while I was visiting Asheville, and this place made my birthday better than I had even hoped. Joe was amazing, he was funny and kind and made my birthday feel very unique and special the gems I found while mining were beautiful and he took the time to identify them and answer any questions I may have had. I cannot recommend this place enough from the goats, to the butterflies, to the gems you can mine and the ones you can buy this place has it all. I will absolutely visit every time Im in town!! Thank you Joe!!!

We had a blast! Though having purchased 5 buckets, the various amounts of crystals and gems were heavily disproportionate between them. Luckily our youngest got the bucket with the most- to avoid the tears we all know come when they don’t have as many as everyone else. Though, to be honest, I was very disappointed for having paid for my bucket at all. I had less than a baggies full- having purchased the $40 bucket. I could have easily purchased loose stones in the store, personally selected, and gotten as many for the same price or less. With experiencing this, I’m unsure if we’d return unless management was able to provide an understanding of how the buckets could have worked out this way. We were in a rush and didn’t have a chance to discuss it.Outside of this, there’s a vast selection of raw and polished crystals. Plenty of odds and ends for just about anyone. Also, very polite staff for the most part. There was a discrepancy over the price of a discounted necklace that seemed a bit of a brash interaction- but overall the kids were happy and that’s all that matters.

This is a fun place! I go here every time I come to visit my sister and the gems never disappoint. You always get something beautiful out of their buckets. And we always get rubies you will see in one if the pictures it’s shaped kind of like a stop sign go here they are really nice and have so much to look at

My wife and my 12 year old son ran a bucket of goods through the sluice while I walked around the store. We all had just a great time. The young woman on duty was kind, knowledgeable and very helpful. We went on our way with some beautiful specimens and smiles on our faces.

This place is great for younger kids. We went and got a larger bucket. They are salted buckets which was fine for us. My 5 yr old and 10 yr old had a blast. My husband and I also had a great time.

Great family trip. We brought food and had a picnic by the little stream. The kids (and adults) had a lot of fun planning for stones. We even got a huge geode to take home and hammer open.

This was our first time in NC as a family and our friend took us here as she lives in NC and said it was fun. I bought the $99 family bucket and there was 5 of us. (3 adults and 2 children) in the $99 pkg you get 4 buckets of dirt with random small to large gems inside. With just 2 buckets we filled almost a gallon ziplock bag so to me it was well worth it. It was super fun & we all enjoyed ourselves. The staff was great and helpful. We also got to feed their goats. There is a pretty stream in the back and my daughter learned to skip rocks with her friend. If we had time we wouldve gone back and got a bigger bucket. I would recommend %

Visit August 9th.The pandemic has spoiled so many events for people across our country, to include birthday plans for my son. Since we couldnt have a big birthday, I decided to make a special rockhounding, gem hunting trip for just the two of us.We had some personal troubles during our 2 day stay in the area that almost ruined this Birthday weekend, but when my son and I visited Elijah Mountain Gem Mine on our last day in the area, I was floored by how amazing the staff was during our visit. The buckets are packed with amazing specimens, the gift shop is well stocked, and the prices are fair. The outside picnick area is beautiful and peaceful next to little stream, the goats are sweet (one even denied food and only wanted her neck scratched), and the staff members we interacted with are truly caring.Words cannot express how grateful I am for how Ms. Heather and staff went above and beyond to make this almost catastrophic trip the best birthday ever!

This place was a lot of fun. We found lots of Gems in every bucket.We look forward to going back the people where very friendly.

We absolutely love coming here!! Every time we walk out with bags and bags of beautiful gems and the staff will make you feel like family.

I brought my 3 kids there. We bought the $160 bucket, which kept us busy for a couple hours. Actually, they also give you punch cards when you spend so much money on buckets, so with the $160 bucket plus a $25 bucket we got 2 free $25 buckets. Were from out of town so we just cashed in all of our punch cards the same day. But we found lots of nice things. And the kids had a good time, even my 2 year old. She was our dirt scooper. She would scoop dirt from the big bin into our sifters and every once in a while she would come up and play in the water. I think we were there for almost 4 hours between our mining, checking out the stream, and browsing the gift shop.The pictures show a nice sized quartz cluster, an Amethyst geode, a huge geode that we cracked open, then the 2 halves, handfuls of rubies, and my daughters hand next to our horde of garnets.

Very easy process! Extremely helpful caretaker, she even took time at the end to go over and teach our boys about each stone and gem!! Suggest to find competitor coupons prior to heading over, they will be honored.

I LOVE Elijah Mountain and make sure to visit whenever Im in Hendersonville. They have some of the most amazing mineral specimens around and I love seeing all the new things they get it. The shop is always improving and the staff is absolutely a dream team. I go every year for my birthday just because I love the shopping. They also have gem mining for all ages and a small area with some goats and chickens that love to be pet.

Ive always wanted to go. The wife and I got the chance when taking our grandson home after the New Year. This is a pretty cool place.. I didnt have a clue. But Joe tried his best never the less. Nice size Geodude Emerald and Ruby were found. They offered to do in-store cleaning polishing and fitting if we wanted. We will go back.

The entrance has a nice shop to the right. And to the deep right, there is a farm with goats and a chicken. It roams around the store, you are also allowed to feed it There is a fish pond with on-point decorations. On to the rocks, you get a pail, put it in those sand shaker things. The sand flows into the water churner, and the rocks are left.

Staff, deals, great prices, products, and general k knowledge of gems..told me everything I needed to know.

Beautiful place and they retained that “old timey” feel. Super place to bring kids - there is lots to look at and a wide price range so everyone can take some home. You can mine your own bucket of gems and keep them (price for buckets vary by size, starting at around $12). Staff were super friendly and it looks like they’re dog friendly.

My son was able to go to Elijah Mtn Gem Mine as a birthday experience. He was super impressed with the guy who was working there. He said that he was really nice and helpful. My 9 year old says that it would be awesome if that guy was the owner of Walmart...because he could turn it around . He loved his experience there and had so much fun! Best Gem mining place we have ever been to and so many semiprecious stones! The goats were adorable. The owner was fantastic and knowledgable about all our mining finds! A+

Fun but would only be for kids. My boyfriend and I go gem mining to get jewelry made, mostly looking for sapphires, ruby, amethyst, emerald and other semi precious stones. We got the green giant because they said it had Ruby’s and emeralds. We got one of each. Not worth the money but still fun. Got plenty of colorful rocks that kids would love. Go to Gem mountain instead!

What an amazing place! As far as attractions for children of all ages an adults as well this is one of my personal favorites in the area. They have gem mining, animals to feed and pet, a indoor fish pond, and a upcoming butterfly garden. The prices for everything is by far way cheaper than any of its competitors. Me and my children both have a absolute blast every visit an is a most see for anyone in the area!

The outside of the store does NOT do justice to what you find inside. I was in awe the second I stepped inside. Absolutely beautiful crafts and gemstone related artwork inside. The young man minding the shop was helpful and very courteous. Something for every price range and a wide variety of craft types. Dont drive by it next time!! See for yourself

Absolutely a delight every time! The staff have been above and beyond in their friendliness and helpfulness each time I visit. Their prices are the best I’ve found in the area. The only thing I wish is that they were closer, but I find it every bit worth the drive to visit them. I can’t speak to their mining/panning experience as I have not done that, but the shop is lovely in all regards. You can tell these folks genuinely have a passion for their products.

This place was a gem for our boys! They loved it! It is definitely worth using the groupon coupon! There were souvenirs of all sorts you could purchase! Boys enjoyed the goats! We even found two tiny Rubys in our buckets! We used the $80 groupon coupon! The employees were friendly! You can also buy salt lamps here! Definitely a must do if we ever come back to Ashville!

Great mining spot!

Very unique experience as we do not have anything like this in central Florida to my knowledge. My 8 year old daughter had an amazing time.

We stopped here on our trip and could not be happier. The staff were just amazing. They walked us through all the steps and helped us identify the stones we found. They were so good they even stayed after close to help us understand. We will go there every time from now on!! I can not thank them enough.Update: we went again today and could no be happier! New butterfly room had my kids laughing and smiling and the staff was once again above and beyond wonderful. Go here for an amazing experience.

The large buckets of earth made my grandson very happy for quite a while. They do a great job of mixing in interesting gems and minerals. Well likely be coming back again when the urge to pan for riches strikes once more.

This place is great for a quick family stop to break up a long trip. Theres a lot of rocks, gemstones, and geodes in raw and jewelry forms to peruse. Actually getting to pan for gems was a highlight for our family! Both parents and our 5yo loved it -- our 2yo just played on the sluice water. They also have goats to pet -- a random, but pleasant diversion.Definitely recommend spending an hour or so!

Ive been looking for a new gemstore for quite some time, glad to say I finally found one that has good gems, pendants, pillars and more at a reasonable price!

We had SO much fun! The bucket my daughter got was huge and made for an instant gem/rock collection for her with all her finds. They have such beautiful rocks to buy as well.Then theres the goats to pet outside. Made her day. Well definitely go back. The staff were so nice, as well!

This is a great little place, we got a medium size bucket and got plenty of large beautiful gems and no rocks! It makes it go fast so if youve done gem mining before youll appreciate that, if you havent youll spend less time wondering if its a gem or a pretty rock! The gift shop has a lot to see also. Loved the baby goats, the were so sweet.

This place is so much fun. We initially went for a birthday party. There is a lovely area by a steam to eat. Mining for gems is great fun. The store was incredible too with tons to look at and animals to feed.
