I love this trail, always wild life to see and it is clean. Please be careful and respectful to the animals it is their home. Trail runs for a few miles down the length of the island. Starts at Hotel on Sandler Rd and runs all the way to the Fernandina park near the light house on A1A near main beach.

In a half hour walk we saw two alligators, a hummingbird, a deer, a crab, many egrets, and countless rabbits. This was a lovely place to visit. It was very easy to access. We would have stayed longer if thunderstorms weren’t rolling in.

This is our go-to walking destination; we come at least once a week. Very peaceful with well marked paths. Lots of cool local wildlife. Benches available if you get tired or just want time to soak in the nature.

Great to place to walk or ride on the island. Lots of birds in winter and the gators start to appear in March.

Its beautiful. Its has lot of nature has to offer. The place is green. However beware of the mosquitoes because they will bite u if U dont wear long sleeves or have insect repellant. I got beaten by mosquitoes so I had to put lots of insect repellant to drive them away. Other than that you will be fine. Follow the trails and take lots of pictures because the nature is fascinating.

As soon as we got out of the car, Bam! Momma on the creek bank! Apparently gators nest here. Wish I knew that before I got out of the car. Haha I had to walk on back a 1/2 mile or so though. My friend lives there now and she would go alone another day. So i figured we would get this out of the way.

Great place to walk and see wildlife. Have been a half a dozen times but have seen no gators? Just the two in the pond behind a fence off saddler that I refer to as pet gators. Will change to 5 star if I start seeing more wildlife. It may just not be warm enough yet to see the reptiles. Have seen birds, turtles and an otter.

Saw two baby alligators and loads of bunnies. The bunny trails were fantastic, fattest bunnies Ive ever seen.

As I am a fervent lover of nature I would recommend this to anyone who shares this passion and should like to explain the relevance for children to learn a healthy respect for nature. The meandering trails that hold a firm swath throughout the marsh exposes the aquatic birds, lumbering alligators, and snakes to man as an interloper and observer. We should feel as God intended-that we share the earth and the animal kingdom is to be revered but, respectfully from a distance. This is a sanctuary to be experienced with profound joy.
