What to say about Peters Point Beachfront Park?I dare to say this is, hands down, my favorite Beachfront Park that I have visited, at least in the United States.Everything is very organized and clean. There are several shower stations both outside and INSIDE the bathrooms. Additionally, theres a changing area in the bathrooms in front of the, at least, 6 shower heads and even a bench inside to shower a toddler or a person with mobility disabilities. They have nice soap, and although for some reason the mens bathroom sinks didnt have water, there were plenty of showers to rinse it off like I wrote earlier. And they have water fountains with actual COLD water. Now, the wooden bridges that take you to the beach make you want to have them at home. Theyre really nice quality and very picturesque. This park allows vehicle transit in the sand and I saw at least 3 lifeguard stations with actual lifeguards on duty.Parking is great too.I will definitely would like to visit again while on Amelia Island!
Just a quick visit, but what a beautiful beach. Its a large beach with great facilities and great shell searching. The water was super clear in the sandbar was great when I was there as well.
Let me 1st state that I am not a beach goer. I HATE sand lol. That being said i took my child to the beach here because they have nice facilities. They have outdoor showers, an indoor shower room, and 2 private shower/dressing rooms. We were able to have a nice morning at the beach playing in the surf and then washed all that annoying sand off to continue our floridian adventure. If a nonbeachgoer approves then it has to be good right :-)
What a beautiful beach. My kids love it here. We come at least once a week during the summer months.
Great beach not super packed. Plenty of parking. Drivable beach entrance.
Beautiful beach!! Clean. People are friendly. My furbaby is paralyzed so I was worried about other dogs but everyone kept their furbabies on a leash and cleaned up after them. Only thing I wish was a spot close to the entrance for handicap. Its hard for my mom to walk the distance to the beach but the man at gate was nice enough to let us drive to in a little to pick her up and load my doggy up. Other than that I love it. Love seeing the gopher turtles roam around too
I was able to park by the beach without having to drive on it. There were bathrooms and walkways to the beach. I was able to grab a spot where vehicles were not permitted and we all built awesome sand sculptures . I also appreciated the people there adhered to social distancing. I had a wonderful time!
Its really sad to say this but you can no longer camp on the beach nor can any non-county resident drive on the beach. Because of these decisions made by the county I can no longer create memories with my family camping on the beach. Its a real shame my kids will not get to grow up doing this.
So nice to get away, even if only for an hour! Everyone was so respectful and properly social distancing... Families having fun, people walking, sounds running, all enjoying the amazing ocean! Several local residents were chatting with visitors and enjoying the polite company. Weather was a bit humid but no one seemed to care as we were so excited to be outside. There is always something about the vast ocean that seems to make all our inconveniences seem so small. The waves crashing endlessly against the sand seems to put life back into proper perspective! We all had such a nice time... Clean and fun!
Awsome family, spot and can drive on beach. Just make sure you have the right vehicle .
Peters Point is my private entrance to the beach on AMELIA ISLAND at the Ritz Carlton!! HEAVEN ON EARTH!! BEST SAND TO GET 10K STEPS!!
A great escape from GA. Only 2.5hr driving time
It would be great if it was like it used to be.Tear down the condos. Bo Brewer, retired Fl.Marine Patrol, Dept.of Environmental Protection.
Really nice beach. County residents can drive onto the beach but parking is super close too. Doesnt get too crowded but pack lunch and snacks. Not like the main beach where food is nearby.
We enjoyed it. It wasnt a lot of people there, it was beautiful, people had their horses walking around. You can park on the beach, it was clean. The water felt good and the weather was great
Great beach access, you can drive on the beach, nice picnic area and bathrooms.
Nice park with plenty of parking, a few Pavillions and beach access. Also lots of turtles roaming around.
Peters point is a great beach. If you have 4 wheel drive and a beach pass you can drive right up on the beach. I recommend getting a spot early. It gets busy early afternoon. Dogs are also allowed on the beach. Tons of shells for shelling and possibly sharks teeth too. We grilled right on our tailgate and relaxed all day. One of the best beaches on Amelia Island.
Would be better if the county put the rules back the way they were. The general public doesnt have to same use of the public land . They took away most of the publics rights to use the beach. It isnt worth visiting. The whole island isnt worth visiting. Democrat political control is evident.
Easy parking in the lot, or with permits (or county resident plates) you can park on the beach if you have 4-wheel drive. The sand is nice and not too “Shelly” like main beach. Restroom/shower facilities, drinking fountains, and foot showers are so convenient. It’s less busy than main beach or Sadler as well!
Always a great time, not crowded. Plenty of room to social distance
Was my daughters first time at the beach and was spending time with my mother and sister in law. We were rained out but the hour before that was so nice and my other 3 children too enjoyed the time out there with there cousins ️. Very nice clean and showers to remove sand plenty of parking.
Easy to get to. Drive on if you want or park. Has plenty of parking.
Always been my favorite beach access. Love that u can drive on the beach here and just set up your day with friends and family. The only thing that sucks is no alcohol. But hell that doesnt stop us.. haha. Good times!!
Beautiful place for your whole family. Public restrooms(plenty)
Adequate parking, short walk to the beach. There are picnic tables and restroom facilities available.
Been going here since I was kid! Me and the family love this beach!
Family friendly beach! Indoor and outdoor showers, accessible bathrooms and parking. Allowing vehicles on the beach gives it a great, at home feeling
Love it there. Great get away from the house an take in the view an fresh air. Love how you can still drive on the beach
Beautiful sand. Clean beach and water. Plenty of sites to clean off at.
Nice peaceful trail.
Great beach but make sure your vehicle has all terrain tires and is capable. Pushed out several vehicles. Fun, clean beach though.
Its over populated most days in the summer because the Ritz Carlton and the condos there on both sides have crammed everyone into one small area so they can have private beaches. Miles of beaches on the island and only a few accessible public beaches. It use to be a wonderful island to vacation on and live on. Now its more of a rich old retirement area. If you cant afford to live directly on the beach good luck.
Great beach with parking and public facilities. Be careful though if you dont have 4 wheel drive youre most likely going to get stuck trying to drive on the beach.
By far my fave beach. I used to go to jax beach whenever I go home to visit but tried out this one and came back everyday until I drove back to Colorado
First time for me was raining but still amazing
The crowds were what turned us off from Peters Point. Too many people driving the beach. The facilities are good - fresh water rinse off showers, bathrooms, picnic tables.
Lots of covered picnic tables available, restrooms, water to rinse off. Can be a bit crowded at times.
Great Hotel, perfect location historic downtown.
Love it! Will be back and visit when the crisis is over! Just a serene beautiful place! Would love to live here!
Nice location for enjoying the beach. 4wd can drive onto beach or parking lot with crosswalk.
Pretty decent spot. Enjoy beach camping here. Would have rated 5 stars if there was shady Park and more trash cans
Parking and places to rinse off. Great beach, good place.
Nice quiet beach. Water température was perfect.
Really good place and nice view but thethe garbage spreads.
Beautiful park with free public access. Free parking. Free foot access to beach. Driving on the beach allowed with permit only. Horses allowed on beach. Great for walking, as the sand is very hard. Area seems very safe. Picnic tables available. Pets on leash ok. Beautiful boardwalks to beach area. Highly recommended.
This is the beach we call our home Beach just minutes from the house always pleasant refreshing and helps ease the mind of all your problems
Lovely beachside stop!
Able to capture an amazing sunrise picture.
A friend told me about Peters Point, so I went to see it. This beach has car access, 4x4 is important though. Good place to sit or sunbathe. Fishing is good and you maybe lucky to see a dolphin (or a big shark). Plenty of room to play for friends and family or fly a kite. Dont forget to ride a horse on this beach. Awesome place
It is an excellent place to share with family and friends
Love this beach, we camp there like five times, we love the beach, and the fact that we can drive over the sand and park our vehicles next to us to have our coolers and that we need next to us.
My family and I love this beach. We spend as much time here as we can every year. There are picnic tables and restrooms. Theres rarely any soap to wash your hands. So bring your own or hand sanitizer.
Awesome place! If you are not a resident, you can get a permit to drive. It is a small patch that you can drive in, but still awesome. One of the few places that you can still do that, and according to Sheriff because of noisy and trashy people, the residents are trying to ban it.
Looking for an uncrowded beach, lowekey beach. This is it. Dont drive all the way to Jacksonville. Has a shorter shoreline when tide is higher but the fact that you can drive a 4-wheel vehicle on it is cool (if you have one). The sunsets are peaceful. We set up a done 1/2 dome tent and bring cooler to lounge
Horseback riding on the beach was great!! Thankyou Happy Trails!!
Nassau county residents only at this time can drive on beach.
Beach access point with good facilities.
Beautiful beach, free parking, nice showers and restrooms with changing area.
Gorgeous spot for sunrise photos!
What a beautiful beach! Not super crowded, plenty of small shells to keep the kids digging around for hours. Fantastic place!
They allow beach driving here. Also it has bathrooms and showers and the sunrise is awesome here.
Came to meet up with Amelia Beach Horseback Riding. Was very clean and spacious, trailers were blocking Handicap spaces.
Simply amazing scenic beach
Abundant parking at a great beach spot.
We 2 days with picnics in the pavilions. Had a great time.
Best place to bring your vehicle on the beach.
Took the dog to the beach...he was SO excited!
Nice little Beach Park. Plenty of parking and you can drive on the beach.
We loved it! It was beautiful!
Awesome experience. Holly was the bomb. Holly was very professional and patient. Assisted my wife with overcoming the fear of Horseback riding . If you visit Amelia Island you must experience Horseback riding on the beach with the Amelia Island Horseback Riding company.
Great beach. Nice and clean.
Great day in the Sun! #beachlife
Bringing in the New Year 2020 on the beach with camp fires, tent camping and great fireworks. No other place to be. Thank you Fernandina.
I love this spot
So beautiful and a perfect place to stop and ride on the beach! Easy to get to and plenty of parking too. It wasnt prime beach time so that may be why also. (we were there in March)
It was very relaxing!!
Great place local hangout
Perfect for families, especially with little kids! there is a tide pool type area for little ones to play. The ocean has a pretty strong under tow so keep an eye on those who are not strong swimmers. Ocean was dirty so dont go expecting Hawaiian blue waters lol showers/bathrooms were ok. if they had a family bathroom or even an outdoor shower where my husband could help me with our baby during the showering process, Id give it 5 stars. Oh and even though we went on Memorial day, there was tons of parking and beach spaces to spread out.
Very pretty beach, quiet at night. Crowded on nice days, but not over whelming. Showers, bathrooms, covered tables. Very nice beach to visit.
Great park, beach access for 4wd vehicles. Hope everyone drives slow.
This beach has always been a fun place to hang out. The only issue I had was the woman hanging out by the restrooms stating she had been living there, needed help, & her boyfriend was in jail. I suggested she speak to the 2 sheriffs that were parked on the beach.
Nice beach. Clean. Restrooms and showers on property.
You can drive and park on the beach which is amazing if you have kids and have a bunch of stuff. You do need a permit which is only 5 dollars and well worth it!!
Beautiful, clean beach and convenient facilities
Beautiful and not crowded
It was very peaceful to have lunch there
Beautiful. Very peaceful.
I drive on the beach every morning and walk my dog and watch the sunrise.
Nice bathrooms, showers, free beach camping. No overnight parking
