There are two trails, one starts at the north side of the parking lot and travels the wetland the other starts on the south end. They are both very fun, the north route haas a bridge and boardwalk while the south route has a beaver dam and a couple look out points. Well groomed wide paths.

Nice and quiet place to walk. Trails are safe and clear of debris. Just watch out for snakes! I have seen deer sipping water at a stream here before. Also great place for watching birds or just enjoying the serenity.

A bird reserve (also called ornithological reserve) is a wildlife refuge designed to protect bird species. Like other wildlife refuges, the main goal of a reserve is to prevent species from becoming endangered or extinct. Typically, bird species in a reserve are protected from hunting and habitat destruction. Because of the protection they provide from such threats, bird reserves also serve as excellent locations for bird watching. Normally, wildlife refuges are under the care of non-profit organizations and governmental institutions.

I needed to get away for a moment to clear my head and ground my spirit. This was just the place. It is a Saturday and no one is here. The wildlife is out and it is absolutely beautiful as well as peaceful. The trail is short, maybe a mile combined, but the trail is pleasant and easily walked. There are some benches throughout as well as an awesome dam and 2 look out decks. I will return for the peaceful tranquility we all need from time to time.

My family and I brought our dog in a walk today.Pluses: Quiet, wonderful foot bridges, good parking. Many Lovely shaded places to sit, observe the water life, turtles, birds. There was one family of 4 with 2 (leashed, thank you) dogs, and a single man with a rockin camera lens. No one else there. Bugs not a problem (6:30 p.m.), but we were well coated in mosquito repellant just in case.Minuses: Basically just one trail, while there are others, the trails are over grown with black berry bush brambles (WEAR JEANS & good boots) which make going down some paths impossible. We walked 1 mile total before turning around and going back to vehicle. We most definitely will return! saw a couple beaver dams, turtle, birds. Looking forward to our next walk at Sams lake. if you have one, bring a machete!

Decent little marshy bird watching spot. Could be better if the trail was a loop.
