The COVID-19 hours for the musuem is from Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 4:30 pm. So unfortunately, its not opened on the weekends. However, admission is free so donations are greatly appreciated. Its a very well organized museum that focuses on airborne and special ops from the 1940s to present day. A lot of history and action displays that bring the stories to life. There is currently a GWOT (Global War on Terror) Memorial Flag Exhibition that will pull on your heart strings from the sacrifices made. It is made of around 7,000 dog tags and makes a lasting impression. This special exhibit should be here until the end of the year.Dont forget to hit up the gift shop! A lot of really neat memorabilia to check out.
An Informative, FREE museum. The kids seemed to notice several details that lead to questions and a little extra research. It starts with the history in world War II and goes through modern-day Afghanistan. After an exploring an area we regroup to share fun facts and stories. It was a great place to visit for Veterans Day! As with war, there were some bloody scenes that we refocused for our younger ones. We wrapped it up with the simulator which was enjoyed by the kids. (although a bit cheesy as an adult...because there was no storyline to keep me engaged...it was just movement for the sake of it.)
This museum was so educational and really showed the lives of people who taught in the army. The place is full with antique weapons and a simulator, one of best I have ever been on. Its so realistic, my heart was racing when I got off. This is my second time here because after the first time, I had to come again. Please visit them if youre in the area
I actually really enjoyed this museum and the veterans park attached to it. It is surprisingly entertaining and filled to the brim with info, ranging from little known facts to expounding on things youve probably been told before. It has a movie theater that does a kind of army simulator with things such as various military vehicles, nothing gorey or super violent. The simulator might be a little much for young children (6 and below) as it does have guns firing and Im pretty sure an explosion but nothing crazy, just something to keep in mind if you have sensitive children. The museum is free and very engaging with loads of scenes (some of which you walk through) set up to create the feeling that you could be in these war zones or battlefields. I highly recomend visiting and if you really want to take it all in, as well as the veterans park outside, set aside a couple hours. It really is worth the time to learn some new things, honor our troops, and the dogs that have served our country. Yes, Im glad to say even our furry friends are honored here with a beautiful statue and a stone setting engraved with their names and dates. I hope you enjoy exploring this wonderful museum.
Visiting this museum you come to realize how others are driven to defend our country with heart and soul. The victories that makes us proud and the losses that makes us humble. Next time we see a soldier lets not forget how much they risk for me and you. Lets remember that they are also the son, brother, nephew, and husband of somebody.
Wonderful experience, the grandchildren loved it they learned alot. Staff was gracious, except for the woman in the gift shop who harrassed me about a face mask. I have asthma and had just lowered the mask, with NO ONE around to combat the dizziness and was handing my granddaughter my phone to hold so I could replace the mask and we could enter the shop. Totally unnecessary!
My wife and I love this museum. We try and visit at least once a year. The volunteers are always great to talk to. I highly recommend it if your a history or war buff. A great place to remember our fallen. Thank you for your service and God Speed.
Nicely done exhibits and the fact that it is free admittance is a huge plus! I will gladly donate to places such as this.
If you’re interested in military history, this really is a museum you should visit. It’s well kept and informative and they rotate special exhibits in addition to the regular exhibits. The museum volunteers, who are military veterans, are quite knowledgeable and readily share information and their experiences. Airborne units and Special Forces aren’t really one of my areas of expertise, so I learned a lot about their development here following on from a couple of visits to the National Infantry Museum at Fort Benning.
We visited with a family with several children and the kids were all fascinated by the exhibits and cool items in the gift shop. The museum does a great job of explaining the how & why and what happened in each war. Its amazing what the army airborne is capable of and what a significant role theyve played in times of war.
If I could give this place more than five stars, I unquestionable would. You could easily spend a couple of hours here. I just wish the city could better support it. If you are ever at Ft. Bragg, ensure to make a concerted effort to visit this museum. There was a special exhibit on the Iraqi Jewish along with the treasure trove of Jewish documents found during Saddam’s capture. It was very fascinating. Besides the museum, there is the Veterans Park and Freedom Memorial Park just outside the museum. Of course, you must stop and pay homage to Iron Mike.
This museum was a great walk through history and we can really appreciate the contributions of the airborne special forces
Beautifully done. Phenomenal history. Not to mention a nicely done memorial for my father.
A very well put together museum to honor Airborne and Special Forces from Fort Bragg
Great place to go. Lots of stuff to see. Very educational. Staff nice & friendly! Highly reccommend checking out!
The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable. The traveling GWOT memorial Flag on display is amazing.
Was looking for something to do while waiting for a flight out of town and this place did not disappoint. Great collection of military items. Only wish I had more time to spend. I was there for an hour and felt like I had just fun through the museum. Great place to spend the afternoon if you are a history person. Much better than I expected in Fayetteville NC! Hidden Gem!
Really interesting, good reminder of the cost paid for the life we enjoy. Could easily go back several times.
Amazing everything was so real very organized customer service was great its free but it does say for donations my brother was Vietnam it has different eras of the war I enjoyed it I would definitely say it is worth the visit
Amazing place for everyone. Airborne and special operations museum. Great deals of information about American war, army history
Amazing walk through Airborne history. From WW II till present day. Grateful for all who have served our country through great personal sacrifice. Highly recommend going here.
I visited this museum several years ago and it was awesome. This second time around it was great as well. This was my husbands first visit and to see him explaining things to our children and pointing out where he had been during his 14 years of service was heart warming. We were not able to utilize the stimulated ride but I did previously and its great as well. I think its an underrated tourist attraction in North Carolina period not only in this area.
What a great little museum! The place isnt huge, but it is packed with information and exhibits. We spent a few hours there and could have stayed even longer. It was a good mix of artifacts and information panels. They sets they had set up were highly effective. They also had a WWII vet manning an exhibit which was such a fantastic opportunity and really enhanced the experience!
Great historical museum if youre interested in the evolution of modern warfare.
I havent been here since 1995 when I was stationed at USASOC. Hope its even better now that I am retired.
Absolutely one of the Best Museums that I have visited. And its Free! Please make a donation though. If you are Into History and the Military this is for you. Children will also enjoy the experience. They have taken an exceptional detail in all the excibits, including footprints and tire tracks. No manaquin types here, every face is different and something you think was done in Hollywood. Just Super!Located off of Bragg Blvd it has plenty of Free parking including for Handicap accessible Vehicles. They have restrooms and a very nice gift shop. YouShould allow a few hours at least to see the museum and grounds. And remember dont be cheap DONATE!
My second visit to the Museum.Always a stunning tribute to men and women who have volunteered to place themselves in harms way.The highlights include the C-47 hanging from the ceiling as well as the displays of the battles the Airborne forces have participated in.I wish the Black Hawk Down exhibit was still on display. Its such a powerful exhibit. However the main rotor from Super 61 is still on display. This was recovered in Mogadishu and returned home.If you find yourself anywhere near Fayetteville, take the time to visit. Its worth it!!
Nice museum. Lots of exhibits, a theater playing the events from Black hawk down from the soldiers that were apart of it. Another area with a theater/simulator of airborne drop.
Best place to visit with your children and family. Education and fun .
One of the best history museums weve visited. We drove down from Virginia Beach for a day trip. Very well laid out...great flow and lots of diorama settings to tell the story of the airborne and special operations units. Make sure you buy tickets for the simulators...lots of fun. Highly recommended for every American to understand this part of our proud military history.
I stopped in on a road trip with my daughter. We were only going to stay 15-30 minutes. A few hours later they were all sorry folks were closing soon... This place was AMAZING! I met a Veteran that volunteers there who is Retired SF! Great people AMAZING place! Bring your kids. Plan the day.
Very educational. Interesting to see the flag of dogtags.
I love this placeAirborne & Special Force .
Great museum to visit if you respect the military. If not, go to your mamby pamby place.
Nice museum with lots of history. Nice displays and good lay out.
Really enjoyed our visit. Really recommend the semi later
I had been in town for work, but wanted to take time out of my afternoon to visit this important museum. I wasnt disappointed. When you walk up to the entrance you are greeted with all kinds of memorial stones that have been placed by the curators, and pay tribute to family members that have served the Airborne. This is probably one of the most incredible military museums I have visited. You can tell from the design of the building, a lot of thought and caring went into it.When you go inside you are greeted by a huge parachute extended and hanging from the ceiling. I cant imagine what it may have been like to be on the ground seeing 100 of these men coming at you! Beauty and terror about to drop on your head.As I progressed through the museum it takes your through the history of Airborne down through the decades. It is a great example to see what kind of equipment was used from WWII on through Korea, Vietnam, and into the Gulf Wars, and beyond. Each display is well lit and gives you a great representation of the type of warfare each decade brought. The insignia is really interesting. There were all kinds of designs of different flags, and badges that in my opinion, are one of the most interesting aspects of military.whether you are into weapons or heavy machinery, or just the human aspect of what these brave men and women do, this museum is sure to have something that interests you. I would say allow about an hour and a half to go through this museum and not feel rushed. I showed up less than an hour from closing, so I wasnt asked for any kind of an entrance fee, but I dont think this museum charges a fee for entrance usually. I definitely say you should check this one out.
I absolutely love it... it was very detail which helps me have a better understanding
Fun for the kids and was a great thing to get us out of the house since were stuck at home with online schooling...
Great museum. Must stop by and see. Free museum. Very well done. Wonderful informative staff. Exhibits are beautiful. Makes you stop and give thanks to all of the sacrifices our great military personnel and families have made.
This place is awesome. With only donations if u wish u can go in and see some pretty great things. Went here with my grandfather who was in way back and had a good time and heard some great stories Id never heard. Itll definitely make you appreciate what others have done to keep the rest of the country free.Building is clean and staff is super helpful. And most days u can run across someone who sacrificed much of their life to keep us free.
Great museum you have to come and see it yourself, there are no words to describe what it felt being there.
Nice museum. Has the history of airborne and special ops since WWII to the present. Separated chronologically by conflict. Free to get in, but they do suggest a cash donation of 5 dollars. Worth it.
A must visit place if you are near Fort Bragg. It is free to enter, they only ask for donations. It is one of those rare places that you can visit and experience what the brave men and women of this country have endured for us all to be free. I took my children, including my soldier son, so that they could see and know what it was like. They have real airplanes, tanks, jeeps and other very interesting military vehicles inside. The soldiers look so real you want to touch them to see if they will move. You can read and learn about the events and the people that made a difference that they dont teach you about in history books, such as the Triple Nickles and the story of This is nuts. It is simply a must visit!
This was a lovely museum with lots to see a ready about. Our kids loved visiting and ready about the history. Definitely a must-visit place if you are on post!
Absolutely delightful museum with wonderful military artifacts and terrific displays. Well worth a visit!
If you are a history buff, especially military history this is a great place to visit. The exhibits walk you through the origins of airborne and special operations groups from World War 2 through current times. New exhibits are added as material becomes available and they have special exhibits throughout the year. This was my second visit to the museum and I plan to visit it again in the future. Very nice facility that your whole family will enjoy.
Great Museum! It is free but please donate.
Great place to visit. Lots of great things to see and listen to.
Excellent history of the United States Army airborne and special operations. They have excellent exhibits inside the museum and you learn the history of the United States Army airborne. You will be impressed by the history of all US Army airborne forces from World War II to the present. You will learn about the special forces history also. It is a wonderful museum to visit if you’re in the North Carolina area
Excellent museum with detailed exhibits. The K9 memorial was a unique addition you dont often see in museums. The employees/volunteers were all so sweet and helpful. Definitely worth stopping by to learn about the history of the special operations community.
A great journey through time with elite divisions.
Very well done museum.Visited on D Day for a bit of reflection and respect.Take your family and learn something.
If ever in Fayette NC you must visit this museum...very interesting
Very interesting with a lot of history and a memory or two.
Very touching place very honored
Clean, organized, and very polite and respectful staff. They have wheelchairs to borrow for handicap as well. Theres a nice little gift shop and all of the items seemed reasonably priced. Good experience and it was fun for the whole family.
I learned a lot about history and I am even more grateful to have a husband that served in airborne. Plus its free. I was happy to give some funds.
A nice piece of Airborne History. A colleague at work recomended us to visit and it was woth it.
Very friendly very good for not so big history but very pleasant
Wonderful depictions of our military conflicts. Very helpful staff. My husband was acknowledged and thanked for his service as a Viet Nam Veteran and presented with a commemorative pin and certificate signed by President Trump and a U.S. Flag. A very emotional day for all of us. Highly recommend this well maintained museum.
A very good experience. The displays cover the birth of the Airborne to present day. Displays are very informative and well maintained. Parking is free and easy on the day we were there it was not crowded. No specific activities that I saw for younger children but all displays were age appropriate. Gift shop was surprisingly underwhelming is my only negative but that might be a plus for some visitors.
Absolutely amazing museum! Even my two year old had a great time! Make sure you plan for enough time to tour inside and outside. There is a beautiful outside component as well.
The museum is awesome the exhibits are very well made and maintained it has changing exhibits the new missions come. I highly recommend to every vertebrae’s and civilians alike. Don’t miss the garden out the backdoor it is really nice.
So fun! Movies, gardens, fun in the museum, and in the back a memorial to everyone there who served for the U.S. military.
Well worth the time to learn the history of Airborne and Special Forces, Lots to see. Highly recommended...
Fascinating place to learn more about the history of this kind of troops and see loads of interesting items.
Loved this place. The staff was very friendly and informative. The detail that went into this place is out of this world. Five stars and a salute to all the brave men and women who served.
Great place to visit for all veterans and active military members. Lots of history arranged very well.
Now I may be a little biased, as I am a former Paratrooper, but this museum was amazing. Incredible displays and tons of information. The museum is well organized and easy to navigate. There is an amazing collection of Airborne and Spec Ops related memorabilla. I have been to a lot of military museums and this one was one of the best. Dont miss this one!
From the jungles to deserts, a little piece of every war the U.S. has been involved into up to 2006 lay here. Its definitely something see, it also has a motion simulator thatll take you on a fun little adventure and dont forget to check out the souvenir shop were you can purchase the tickets. Thank you to all that Serve and have Served, thank you!
For a recommended $5 entry fee you have a safe place to walk around and see the history the Army played in the multiple wars. They have a simulator that is pretty cool, $8.50 for half the experience or $12 for the entire experience. As you exit the museum portion a person is waiting to take your picture. Expect to pay $25 if youd like to keep it. Walk over to Veterans Park after to see the remaining pieces. **they need memorabilia for WOMEN in the military from each war!!**
Everything was awesome brought back memories. Enjoyed the history of soldiers, from all backgrounds
Always a great place to visit when Im in town visiting family. There is something new almost every time.
Great museum that is packed with exhibits that are very well-done. There is no charge to visit but it would have been worth a hefty fee for the quality of this museum. Very informative and emotional to go through the history of these incredible Americans. We have visited a few military museums and this is one of the best.
This is a must see museum. We have actually been twice. The history that is depicted is very interesting and well presented. All ages will like this museum.
Lots of educational stuff, well organized, n a great tribute to our soldiers
This was our first time to come here. They have wonderful exhibits to see that provides so much information.
Excellent place to walk around and see military history. Lots of exhibits. Well worth the trip.
This place was so fun.
It was very sobering to see the sacrifices real people are making to keep us free.
Excellent real-size displays. Impressive.
Visted here on Memorial Day weekend and the campus was adorned with Amercian flags. Our favorite display was the Dog tag Flag of Fallen soliders. The craftsmanship on the manquin recreations are awesome. Museum had multiple artifacts, machinery and vehicles that captivate the entire space. Hand on displays, and give great detail to each division in a timeline view of history pertaining to Fort Bragg and airborne divisions. We enjoyed our day here, only wish the movie had been in operation.
Awesome museum. Top of the line exhibits, amazing history and its free! Throw a few bucks donation to support the effort. Must visit.
Displays are so real life.
Interesting mix of life-sized, immersive exhibits, informative graphics, and well-produced videos, put together imaginatively as an experience through the timeline of various operations of the Airborne and Special Operations. It was amazing and humbling to see their contributions just in WWII, to think of that enormous effort, civilian and military. My daughter was particularly struck by a soldier hidden in a bush with his gun focused upon other soldiers across the room. We then traveled forward in time through each conflict: viewing a helicopter from Vietnam, living conditions from Desert Storm, etc. There was a simulation theater to experience travel in various military vehicles (air, land, sea) through a few dangerous encounters. I am very glad we visited.
Loved it. Simply amazing
An interesting museum to give a few hours! The best side is that the entrance is free. Other than that, they really made a good effort to animate the parachutists and battlefields. But as someone who used to the Smithsonian museums in DC, it felt like a bit small. But for the small town it is in, relatively speaking, it was large enough. For a suburban culture$economy based on/for soliders, an army museum couldn’t have been in a more meaningful place.
Cool place to learn about the hero’s of this country. The museum is free however a small donation is normal to give. They have a simulator that shows some of the operations the US Special forces have gone through.
This place tells the history of airborne operations and special operations very well, amazing detail. Lots of photos, less artifacts. Went through jump school 51 years ago, so this was a special place.
Nice museum. A lot of history here. It has a peaceful atmosphere and you can browse the exhibits at your own leisure.
This is awesome and very educational
This was a great experience about great men do really hard things. Well worth the visit
Ive been to a lot of museums and this one outshines or at least matches them all! I have gone several times and have even taken guests. We love it every time and the museum often adds exhibits! 10.5 out of 10!
A great experience! Lots of detailed information, sound effects are realistic, brings history to life in a fun way. Cant wait to bring my family on a future visit.
NSDQ. More great hero’s of our country. Helicopter rotor from Super Six Four. Remember Shugart and Gordon.
Amazing experience. So much history. I could go several times and still be learning new things!
Great place to learn about out military history. N the ambiance is great. Everything is super vivid. The store has great souvenirs. Please DO NOT FORGET TO MAKE A DONATION. TJOUENTRANCE IS FREE UR FINANCIAL.SUPPORT HELPS THEN CONTINUE TO GIVE US THE BEST OF THE BEST. BTW I dont work there but always take my family n friends when they visit from out of town.
I use to go here a lot when my dad was still in the Army. Always had a fantastic time there. I love how they actually have one of the rotors from one of the black Hawks that went down Durning the Battle of Mogadishu.
Interesting place but wish the store kept up with their inventory. The store rep wasnt very helpful when my father-in-law was trying to find a specific patch that was in stock according to their website. She didnt seem interested in his concerns and it felt like all we got were excuses. It wasnt until after he showed his frustration that she suggested we be put on a wait list and have them contact us when they re-stock. But everything was I dont know or we get them when we get them. Not friendly or sympathetic at all. He ultimately found what he was looking for at the Airborne Museum on base.
