Neat little park! Good place for a picnic or a leisure stroll along the boardwalks and around the lake. Might even see some wildlife. We need more places like this in the city. Especially, now!
Kinda going downhill now. They were amazing when first made. Now they have just started neglecting the place. Trash all over the trails and in the water. And not any activities anymore or any kind of educational activities for the kids anymore either. It was once a place I went to clear my head enjoy nature and relax. But now it just looks like some old alley with a few mud puttles.
Used to love coming here. But the place is in dire need of repair. Outdoor classroom signs are all damaged due to weather and vandalism. And every foliage identifier is missing. Would love to see it brought back to life.
Love coming here! My son and i like to hike and take walks. It offers wildlife and picnic area
I really like that it seems its a getaway from the city and its pretty filled with wildflowers. I enjoy the signs that are giving details of different birds. Also the boardwalk is super unique and its a must
Love taking pictures here its my first go to place
Elevated walking platforms connect some nice trails. Some of the docking is showing its age. A trail map or some signage could be helpful. None the less it was a pleasant place to walk. May want some bug spray for the mosquitoes.
Absolutely beautiful. It is tragic that people litter and destroy all the signs. But beautiful non the less.
Its a very nice place to visit.
Interesting, never seen water look so mossy. Almost like you could walk on it.
Neat place for what it is and transforms an otherwise wasted space into education and purposeful nature!️
Beautiful wetland scenery. Whens the mountain biking trail gonna be put in?
Ok so this is my 3rd time here. Beautiful pleasant experience the first 2 times. This time I shouldve worn some repellent because I was feasted upon by swarms and swarms of mosquitos. Never seen anything like it in my entire life besides on TV.
Just across the street from Howell, a wetland nature preserve, with a boardwalk over the slough, nature trails, and a small outdoor amphitheatre. Connects via walking trails to Howell Park.
Awesome place to go on walks or take the kids
Awesome to explore with nature
Lovely place to go and do family things.
A nice place in the heart of Evansville to walk around for a small nature break. There are boardwalks going out into the water. You can see wildlife up close. There seems to be ample parking. Come visit sometime.Nice little boardwalk. Needs some sprucing up but a nice little nature park in the middle of the city.
Beautiful wooden walkway. Saw signs of raccoon and beavers! Very tranquil for being in the city!
Nice quiet And serene. good place to walk your dog if you dont want A lot company. And the little offbeat park was very clean I will go there again.
Its really nice for nature lovers like myself, there are actually quite a few paths to take, and some lead to the park.
Its free AND educational. Howell Wetlands is very peaceful place. If you like nature you will like this place. Great for photographers too. There arent many wetlands still viable, but here we have one right in our city. Please go for a visit and enjoy yourself.
Needs constant upkeep but overall a nice neighborhood park for outdoor hiking locally.
Serene and peaceful
Beautiful place
A great discovery of nature. There are trails over a pond marsh and river. Well kept and clean. Great blue heron beaver turtles. Lots of wildlife in their natural environment.
This place smells great! A good place to walk or ride your bike. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch!
Very peaceful, we went in the morning so it was not busy. My kids loved the trails and did not want to leave. They really enjoyed the walkways over the water.
Love this place our dog loves walking there with our grandkids
It was nice to have a nature walk in the city
Great place to walk and exercise. Evansville and Vanderburgh County NEED to invest more in updating and revamping the trails, trail markers, wood trails over the water, and shelters.Im looking at you local government.
Nice nature place to get some quiet time.
Quiet place to wander and watch wildlife.
Little bit chilly when we arrived so we didnt explore as much as we would have liked but what we saw seemed ok. It was too early in the spring for things to be green and lively
Maybe the west sides best kept secret. Enjoy a relaxing walk and see unique beauty wherever you go. Great for a quick stroll or longer hike.
Walk is good can make a short walk or long so its nice
Great place to walk with your friends or your dog. You may even see a Grey Heron.
Really beautiful park! Nice place to hang out.
Good place to take the dogs and explore
Well kept Evansville secret, Easy access. Great side trip.
If you like nature, this place is an awesome adventure
They have lots of paths to walk on, the dogs just love it They have lots of shade to kool off under#
I used to live just across the street from the wetlands and I used to frequently walk the paths. Its a great place with a nice park for little children and a park for slightly bigger children. Never ran into any trouble and wish that I still lived close enough to be able to walk their daily again.
Its beautiful. People littering is awful, but its easy to do a quick pick up while you walk.
Surprisingly interesting park with a focus on wetlands. Lots of boardwalks that traverse wet or inundated areas, thus affording a chance to view aquatic life. Definitely worth a stop if youre into nature.
Nice secluded natural place in the city. No one goes there so its badly maintained but very tranquil
Come on now, it’s Howell Swamp. We have our very own swamp, just below the water treatment facility. We are so lucky!!
Good scenery but codd use bird houses, hummingbird feeders and other wildlife attractions.
Walkways are clearly marked, well mowed. Some of the paths can be rough at times depending on current and recent weather. Signage and building/outlook area needs attention or this would get a 5 star from me.
We drove from the far East side of Evansville to get Grandys. We miss the one on the east side so much. Food is consistently good, well prepared and nice staff. Worth the drive.
I grew up going through these on my bike as a kid. Great place to walk dogs or just go with friends.
I didnt get to see any turtles and I got chewed up by mosquitoes! Thats not the fault of anyone though. There is some really cool nature here.
Wonderful place to connect with nature as a family or to walk your dog. Information signs need some tlc as do some of the docks.
Peaceful and scenic. I enjoy walking the wood bridge style pathway through the wetlands soaking up the beauty.
Great place. Nice boardwalks, plenty to see. Trails are mowed but a bit rough. No signs or directions to speak of. Good day trip.
Great place for walking but dont go to deep into the wetlands without bug spray.
One of my favorite places to visit
Great place to find wildlife and frogs!
This is a great place to take your kids to explore nature! It is also great for photographers who love nature shots! I try to visit at least once a month. It is a great place to be.
Cool place to take a bunch of city kids and hike around in the woods. We saw turtles, a heron, and lots of plants. Appreciate it being free to the public too. My kids call it the new Wesselmans park since it is free to hike.
Love walking around the wetlands pokemon hunting
Relaxig place to walk around
Great nature walk. Saw a Blue Heron and a Kingfisher bird. I highly recommend.
Its within walking distance of my house and Im lucky to have such a great place to hike.
Gods Most Precious Creation
Beautiful! Love it here, escape from reality.
It was nice to look at
It was a really nice time
Very informative. The staff was very friendly.
Great for an afternoon stroll
A great place to see so much diversity of wildlife in the city. There are wetlands, a prairie, and forest habitat. This makes the perfect place to see lots of different animals!
Great nature walks. Not crowded. Trails in great shape.
Great family walk
Short trails, great for taking children on short walks through the woods. A nice break from the day to day.
Great nature scenery
Natural wetlands
Nice place, but to much riff raff
Great place to visit
I had a great time here. Theres alot to to do such as walking, playing on the playground set, or going to the water park there.
Nice trails parks swiming put put golf.
Its falling apart, but this is a hidden gem in Evansville for tranquility and exploring wikdlife. Plus side, hardly every anyone here.
Good place for a nature walk. Depending on time of season mosquitoes and ticks can be a problem, other than that nice place.
Grew up here before the trails were built many great memories playing in the woods
Good food and prompt service.P
Its a very nice place loved walking there!
It is what it is (the wetlands), so when its not flooded its a cool place to go walk the trails.
The kids loved it!
Great place except all the younger kids that give the place a bad name
