Oh my goodness this museum was a BIG waste of time and money. I took my 9 and 10 grandchildren today. It was so HOT inside the building 82. I would say that 80% of the museum was closed. The only hands on available for the kids was pencil and paper. We only stayed about 20 minutes. If the exhibits were open I would still only take children under 6 years old.
Considering the arrangements everyone has had to make for covid, this was still great.I can only imagine what it must be like when bustling with visitors.Kind of reminds me of The Magic House in St.Louis.
Very clean and well set up, the attendants were nice and offered free bottles of water overall a very nice experience
Great place to take your kids! Tons of fun for all ages!
Id call this a giant playground as opposed to a museum However, the kids enjoy it every time so thats the main thing.Only reason I couldnt give five stars is because one of the kids favorite attractions (the vacuum that sends balls from the basement wet deck back upstairs) was broken. Also, the wet deck (and the kids shoes once we left) smelled of seafood/fish, so a hint of chlorine in that water would do wonders.
The grandkids just loved it, well worth the visit, we highly recommend it.
Came on a Sunday afternoon with 2 toddlers (18 month old and 20 month old). Great space and variety of educational activities. There are lockers you can use for your items, just bring quarters with you. We brought a large jogger and ended up putting it back in the car because our toddler just kept running around. There is 1 elevator that fits maybe 2 umbrella strollers (only fit our 1 jogger and 4 adults).
Kids had a blast playing here all day. It is inexpensive to get in and plenty to keep the kids occupied and engaged. We spent a good three hours wandering around. Staff is helpful and friendly. Bathrooms are clean and staff is continually walking around picking up messes. We will definitely come back!
Lots of fun things to do here. My 2 year old had a blast. We went on a weekday morning so there was no crowd. Highly recommend for toddlers and young children. If we lived nearby I would probably get the annual pass.
We came to town for an Otters game and had time to kill. I took my 2 boys (ages 6 and 9) to CMoE. We seriously could have spent all day here. They had a blast. The water deck and quack factory were their favorite areas. There is something for everyone and even I left feeling younger. Highly recommend.
Fantastic place! This was our first time and I would highly recommend this place for folks of all ages, both local and visiting. We are visiting for the weekend and our kids (both under 5) had a blast. That said, all the adults were 30 and up and we had an equal blast. Definitely give this place a try!
This place was amazing. I took my little cousin when he came to visit and he had a blast. Its so nice that every thing is adult friendly so that I could interact with him through the entire experience. The prices were very reasonable. My only complaint is that some of the exhibits were absolutely trashed. I understand some mess since there are kids playing and interacting, but some of it was excessive.
Family place to go to with your kids to have fun with there parents
Cute little museum, its a nice little place to take kids in Evansville. They have a decent range of activities for different age groups. Both of my kids have a good time here!
3 year old and one-year-old definitely enjoyed this place, mom and dad had some laughs as well. Several things seemed out of service but still plenty to do. Seen everything in 3 hours but my kids could have played all day.
CMOE is a wonderful environment that allows children to create, explore, and have fun in many different ways. Its easy to spend a whole day there and not visit all that it has to offer. Along with the free play that allows the children to use their imagination, there are also interactive classes that take place throughout the day, usually not taking more than a few minutes, and its easy to drop in for a bit and then move onto other areas. The train table is a big hit, along with the water zone and the Lego corner. If you have children that love to use their imagination, or you want to cultivate that within them, check out CMOE.
Our family loves this place!! A years membership is worth the price. We love that they are always bring in new things and having events throughout the week and month. The safe does a great job keeping the place clean and being friendly! Keep up the good work
The kids love going here you can easily spend a whole day here.
Great place for kids. Lots of things to play with. 4 floors of interesting things and fun play time.
Very cool place for kids, lits to do. Fun for us big kids too!
I would really like to rate CMoE higher, but - as a long-time patron - I just cant.I want to stress there is a LOT to like here. It was well designed and extremely well built. The exhibits are engaging and its quite easy to spend much of the day here with active kids.My primary frustrations are with the maintenance and the schedule. Simply, they do not adequately maintain their exhibits. There are pieces that will remain broken for months if not years at a time. They will just disconnect or disable some of the most popular pieces rather than repair them.Their schedule is clearly designed more around the staff than around their customers. They are closed on Monday at and 4 pm on the remaining weekdays, refusing to admit anyone after around 3:15 pm. Theyre also closed every minor holiday, further reducing the ability of working families to easily use the facility.I bought a membership for my family this past year and cant find any reason that I would renew it.
Didnt go inside but for what we could see on the outside looks like it would be fun for kids.
More for younger children. It doesnt have much more than play sets and role-playing stations. Some cool woides though and the Duck Room is neat.
Superb!!! Hands down an awesome place to take your kids. The water play area was my 3 year old grandaughters favorite part. We also had fun in the room with the magical harp. $8 a person is a fair price too for so much fun!!!
Awesome place to take kids of any age. Plenty to do. Super staff. We loved it.
First time here and we loved it. Very interactive, dinosaur exhibit was a huge hit. Loved every floor with different things at every stop. Loved the train station. They do have a drink machine, but no snacks so be sure to eat before or bring a light snack to enjoy while there. Affordable and fun.
We arrived at 2:10 PM on a Saturday, when theyre advertised closing time is 5:00 PM. As we were approaching there were several, (6-9) museum employees carrying boxes from the museum. We were informed on entry there was no charge for admission, which seemed great, at the time. Our first stop was the fluid dynamics interactive demo. (Shooting plastic balls from a tube using air flow generated by dropping a bowling ball inside a tube.) There are two or three of these devices, and there was ONE ball. Not to mention its a safe bet to assume it will be fired into another part of the museum. And it was. So, my 6 year old was upset, as well as another child that walked in to find he couldnt try. This pattern continued, most exhibits had no instruction, explanation or description and almost all were incomplete. And more than half werent functioning properly or were turned off by staff.Despite the fact there were several families during this time staff was almost completely inaccessible. Those that were visible were fixed entirely on closing everything. In fact, the only other staff member to speak to us was a teenager moving items on a cart to an elevator. In several rooms it was near 80 degrees. The areas around exhibits didnt appear clean or sanitary. At 4:31, there was an announcement that the time was 4:35 and the museum is closed.I would have preferred to be informed that due to circumstances the admission was free, prior to arriving, as I did call and check online. It was not worth the time, regardless of price.
We had fun there my family n i
Our toddler loved this place especially the Wet Deck. We as parents had fun too. One thing I noticed was plenty of places to seat and watch your child play
Awesome place in Evansville to entertain your children and also help them learn in many subject areas. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I personally attended a birthday party there with my niece and nephew, absolutely had a blast there. I also noted that other parents were having a fun a time there as well. Highly recommend this museum for your children to experience here in the city of Evansville.
I visited all children’s museum in Indiana Hands down this is the best of the best.. so hands on. Very clean. Staff was friendly. It engaged my 15 year old 11year old 9 years old the adults and my friends 2 year old. It’s wonderful definitely have it on your to visit list
My grandchildren really enjoyed visiting the museum and the activities. The price was affordable and did not break the bank for a group of 6. The outside hands on exhibits helped amuse and entertain the little ones while the counter staff assisted other patrons. We are looking forward to visiting again.
I just love cMoe! The kids always have so much fun there and the workers are really nice.
All my kids from infant to 10 enjoy this spot. They never want want leave. Fun + educational. Steep individual admission prices for a large family make the annual membership an easy deal for locals and occasional visitors. Now we have an easy and free destination when weather is bad. The month of May brings lots of field trip groups. Summer camp weeks also mean noisy crowds. Still, there are a few safe zones for quieter fun.
Fun fun fun place. Love it. Great price. Kids loved it too. Very nice, not over crowded. Excellent price. Clean

Lots of fun stuff to do.
We have been going here for years and it never gets old. Excited to see what else is built for the kids!
The Childrens Museum is a perfect way to spend a day with the grandchildren. Lots of exhibits that engage the mind, body, imagination and creativity of a child instead of just the thumbs. Here is a place where all generations can laugh and explore TOGETHER that is not to taxing on those of us over 65. Grandparents, get a membership. The sound of your grandchildren laughing, loving and learning is worth the cost.
Perfect for a field trip. Building used to be the central library so its a nice facility and engaging experience.
It was fun! The price was a little much for what it was. But all in all we had a great time!
So much for littles to do. Clean. Engaging. Affordable.
Good place for any family outing! My daughter loves the various activities and stuff there is to do!
We love this place, room for everyone and a little bit of everything! We have my sons birthday here every year!
Wonderful learning experiences and environment for all ages. Each floor has a variety of colorful activities.
Love this place an my kids did to. We will be back
So much fun! The babies loved it.
Our Boy Scout Troop was able to rent the whole place for two hours, just us!
Great place for kids. It would be nice if the rooms hanged up more frequently.
A wonderful way to get the kids out inexpensive phone on the weekend. The admission is very reasonable, and the activities are educational and fun. I found a historical aspects of the building itself to be interesting as well.
Great place for entire family
Great place to bring the kids or borrowed children! Lots of unique games and themed rooms!
Perfect fun for the kids! I have a 3 and 5 year old and they have so much fun! Lots of different things for them to do.
We were given a family pass for Christmas. My son loves coming here and playing with the exhibits. Staff are friendly and parking is good thanks to the ford center being close.
Its alright. You will spend about 2 hours in there. 3 hours max. Better if your kid is artistic. They can paint and create little things. But for the active kid theres not a whole whole lot of stuff.
Amazing place for children, and adults!Intriguing and challenging exhibits!
A super fun place for children and adults.
Our two yr old loved this place. The water section downstairs was incredible. Packing some extra clothes for little ones can be a great help!!
Great night having fun
Legos, and sand tables, and magnet gears oh my! Go on a dinosaur dig, build your own house...Weigh yourself on a giant construction claw or crawl through an enormous nose. Play a concert on bongos and pipes or dress up and put on your own theatre production. Wonderful gymboree-like crawling area for babies and toddlers with mats, mirrors, ramps, and obstacles.
Clean and loads of fun for the kids. May have had some fun myself
Wonderful place for children. The exhibits are changed from time to time. Easy parking and a fun time for a family. Wish more people donated to help repair some of the older exhibits to be renewed.
This is a fantastic place to go with kids! A gem in Evansville!
What a great place! The grownups had as much fun as the kids!
Not enough workers that seem to understand what its like to have kids. They dont clean items very well. And not enough workers in areas that should have workers. Its a nice place to take kids to learn though. A bit pricey.
We had a wonderful family day at CMOE! It was our first visit. We didnt see the giant dinosaur outside as advertised on the website. The girl at the front desk was very friendly. There was so much more to do than we expected. Our 21 month old loved the water room. Our active 3 year old loved the giant bird cage and both of the giant slides. I climbed up with my fearless girl because she could have fallen from the platforms leading up to one of them. Parents just need to be attentive. We had fun painting faces, too. We spent about 2 hours exploring. Our girls didnt want to leave, so we will definitely be going back.
It was good. But I think its overpriced a bit
Our 3 year old loves it. If your going to go more than once look into a membership.
My granddaughter Gabi loved visiting CMOE.
Kids love this place. Decent price
Nothing in comparison to what Indianapolis or St Louis has but certainly a lot closer. My daughter had a lot of fun and we spent about three hours there.
Took my Grandson and he really enjoyed it
First time going & my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Tons of things to do, entrance is only $8 a person. Would recommend especially on a rainy day!
We love CMOE!! Weve had family passes for the past couple years since my son was 2 hell be 5 soon and still loves it here!! Hes really in love with the newer 4th floor now since they have the new train table, he could stay there and play for hours!
It was a bit of a drive for us, but totally worth it. So many different options. We were there 2 hours and didnt even make it through half. Will certainly be going back.
Very fun place to take your children!
We like coming here with the little ones. I wish there was a little bit more for the older children. I feel like it was a bit disorganized in and the staff was a little overzealous trying to correct my children. I felt like they really did not have the ability to enjoy without being told something.
Very entertaining and fun. Its more hands on than museum and I could have used a bit more education but the kids had a blast. The little theater where kids could perform their own play was my favorite.
Great fun and value. Our grandchildren 6 and 4 loved it
Great place to let your kids run around and get educated while doing it! Great staff and very clean environment as well! Fun for all ages!
My son loves it. I might get an annual membership.
It was fun and the kids loved it. There are so many things to do there and around there.
Fantastic place for kids to get hands on with the exhibits. My 4 year old loved it.
Great place to take your children to learn things..
My daughter loves it and there is so much to do we usually spend the better part of the day there.
Lovely place to take my kids.
We have a membership the grandsons enjoy going.
My kids absolutely love this place! Tons of fun things to do for the kiddos?
Great place for parents and children alike, tons to learn and see
Lost of fun things for the kids to do...great way to spend the day!
We love this place! The kids have so much fun here and the kids get educated all at the same time!
We went with our grandson and had a great time.
