Nice substitute for your local beach. During the week days its relaxing but sunset and weekends is a whole other scene. If you like people watching, this is the place to be just an hour before sunset or on weekend evenings. All of the recent high school grads come out and ride on top of their parents cars to be cool. Also, dogs are welcome but please leash them so all dogs, dog friendly or not, can have fun!
Just perfect. Not overcrowded, great views, good biking/running area
Nice walk across the causeway, perfect except for getting caught in the rain, long way from car, but it was amazing
Right down the road and a beautiful spot to relax by the water. Always busy with all kinds of things going on.
There are few places in Florida that I would rather be but, most people dont appreciate it the way I do. There are no lifeguards, no soft fluffy sand, no Waterfront tiki bars and, the broken shells can be rough on bare feet. If you like rustic, if you like a little less crowded, if you like swimming just feet from your parked vehicle, this could be your 5 star Beach. There is one very small outdoor Tiki food and drink Hut and one set of restrooms with running water.
Amazing sunrise place to walk and get your head on straight for the day!
On this occasion I was going by Dunedin causeway through the channel on a boat. Even on a Sunday afternoon, there was room for people with cars on there beach. Its a great Beach, no, not sugar sand like Clearwater Beach, but sunsets are awesome and there are quite a few offerings. Great place, dont not go, if you havent been, its for sure a cool place that anyone can find a reason to come back. Its not for everyone, but everyone finds a reason to love it, like anyone else, including myself. Ill be there in the next couple of days, my go to. Have fun
Great walk and run trail. Better when the snow birds leave!
We did a little swimming and enjoyed watching the birds diving for fish. Fun for the whole family.
You can launch your jet skis for free and quickly get out to the ocean, Clearwater Beach, Dog Beach and Caladesi Island really quickly! We suggest getting there SUPER early on the weekends to find parking, and if you bring your jet ski/boat to launch, closest you can get to the bridge (to the left when you pull in the parking lot, the better and easier it is to launch. I would definitely wear shoes or water socks.... the ground isnt the most forgiving on bare feet. Great spot to catch sunsets as well! We made a video on this place, you can search Adventure Encounters on YouTube and find our video
No place better to live and enjoy life.
Best views of the inter coastal and best place to skate hands down.
Lay back, relax, enjoy the sun and sand, and best of all... people watch!!!
Great place to just pull over and swim or fish!.. Visit!
Always a great place to watch sunsets
It wasnt crowded,so thats good, we coukd get the jet ski on the beach. But lots of seaweed on the beach. No bathrooms. Not very comfortable for spending tine there but great for launching
Great place to take in a sunset, fish, or just hang out and enjoy the views.
Worth checking out if you’re in the area
This is a beautiful place to just chill and watch the sun set or Dolphins play. It’s not deep water and is very safe for children to play in because they can go pretty far out and it’s not going to be deep. No surprise drop off’s either for them to be caught off guard by. (That I’ve seen) If your looking to go swimming in deep water I wouldn’t recommend going here. It is however a wonderful spot to walk or ride a bike.
The Dunedin Causeway is gorgeous. There is plenty of room for individuals all over the beach to park cars or to just hang out. I usually ride my bike over here with my hammock to just chill. Great spot to catch dolphins in the water around sunset. Surprising, the Causeway is always clean. They have benches if you’d like to sit around and plenty of parking everywhere!
The sunsets here are spectacular. One of my favorite places to see the sunset.
We drop the skis in the water weather its sunny or stormy! See what I did there!!!
Awesome place for family
The parking is free. The sand has lots of shells. Although the beach is narrow, its long. You can rent kayaks, paddleboards and windsurfers. Theres a restroom. Best of all there are phenomenal sunsets and views. The Causeway is a treasure.
I love the bike path over the bridge to honeymoon and the awesome view along the way. Also, a great spot to do yoga, go sailing or rent a paddle board!
So much fun... best area in all of Florida!
I love riding my bike on the Pinellas Trail from my home over to the Causeway. It is a place to get some sun and walk in the water and watch the boats. You can drive and park right next to the water. There is rocks so I recommend water shoes.
Great place to watch the sunset and it is free to park along the causeway! There are lots of palm trees lining both sides of the road, making this an ideal place to set up a hammock and kick back. You can walk along the water however, there is also a paved walkway so you can skate, bike, or walk up and down the strip as well (not along the water but you have a great view of it none the less).Things to consider: Traffic can get very thick as the causeway is the only way in and out. Be sure to arrive early. To park, youll have to drive on an unpaved road so be prepared for bumps and to take it slow.
Great for Sunsets, medation just being in nature
I caught some fish and the view was nice
The fishing is amazing alot of rocks in some spots. The view an atmosphere is great as well. See dolphins, sharks and sting rays as well
Beautiful spot
Love the causeway.
Nice drive or walk good looking trees
Filling up happy 4th of July
Launch my kayak from here to get to the islands. Bar Harbor is a good island to camp on. S/W side is the best to camp on.But, watch out for the deer.
Caught a lot of fish great to shore fish
Decent place to catch sharks, rays, catfish. Bridge is Good spot. Shore is better if you got the patience and a good rod for far casting.
Nice and clean.
Always a great experience, excellent beach on this coast, a must see if you like beaches.
Great for fishing, watching sunsets, and going for a stroll
Outstanding sunsets, kayak, SUP and sailboat rentals adjoining a tropical thatched roofed restaurant at the north end before the small bridge. There are restroom facilities for the park, water fountains and spigot for animal hydration, outside showers adjacent to restrooms. Great view of Dunedin Sound, Palm Harbor, Anclote island and Tarpon Springs in the distance can be seen on a clear sunny day. At times of year, sea fog can roll in from the Gulf limiting visibility. This is a launching place for weekend wave runners, and fishing is permitted on the Southside of the drawbridge and all along the causeway. Many fisherman wade out on either the north or south sides of the causeway to fish or crab. Can be very windy at times exceeding 20 knots. This is the way towards the entrance to Honeymoon Island State Park (admission required) for park only. Also access to some high rise condos which sits north, just before the Parks entrance.A water taxi is available for access to the island which has some the worlds best sandy beaches and at times shelling. Beware of hiking into woodsy, scrub pine areas, rattlesnakes inhabit those areas! Its not often talked about but a sheriffs deputy I spoke with said the north part of the island is infested with rattlesnakes. As long as one stays along the beach areas you should be fine.In the park is a restaurant upstairs with good food, and beverages which stays open just past sunset so you can observe the suns glorious descent until another day. The beach is wide and Sandy and a boardwalk extends from the parking lot to the beach with shower and rest room facilities available. Good place to have picnics, fly kites, drone photography and bring your dog/s to walk along dog beach which hugs the passage to and from the Gulf.On weekends, many local motorboaters meet up with friends and anchor together near the pass. Youll also see a fare share of kayakers, although if youre kayaking be careful crossing the channel where motorboaters fly through those waters leaving and entering the Gulf throughout the day especially during peak afternoon hours. The water can get quite choppy from each boats wake. Time your channel crossing with your kayak carefully not to get hit or considerably rocked by adjacent waves, especially from the larger 30 foot plus vessels!Dunedin Causeway is a great place to pull over your vehicle, park, walk, jog, rollerblade or bike along side of the causeway. Be careful of bicyclists. They have a tendency to come from behind without an audible warning and zoom past.During the weekend, plan to go early. By 11- noon traffic backs up, especially when the drawbridge is raised for passing sailboats from Clearwater and Dunedin heading north to Tarpon Springs and vice versa. There can be a lot of weekend water traffic by power, sail and rowing depending on the weather. On windy days, kite surfers gather usually on the north end where theres less through traffic.
I got married here. It’s so beautiful here. I can’t even imagine having my wedding anywhere else. So grateful ️While we were saying ‘I do’ there was a guy behind us fishing and he caught a baby shark ! He released it obviously but he let us touch it first and wow ! I’ve never touched a shark before. So freakin cool. This place is so amazing in every way. I love that you can drive on top the beach. They have a restaurant there and bathrooms you could literally drive to the door of the bathroom. So so amazing. This is my go to beach for sure ! Oh! And they’re clean.
Great place to do fishing, watch sunset, and other outdoor activities.
Great to just unwind here and soak up some sun...
You dont have to pay yo go to the beach.
Amazing place. The atmosphere was not touristy at all. Am honey moon island is awsome.
Incredible views, very peaceful, amazing place
Nice local place. Only problem is the young kids driving like idiots on the side beach road. Speed limit is only 10mph on those side beach roads. But theyll easily do 30mph+ HANGING out the windows.
Great place to walk beautiful views
Great place to walk and ride bike .
Awesome place to walk, as well as to watch the sunset
Great place to take pics
Guess the city has someone new running parks dept. this place is a mess. sea grass, rocks and the roadway is uneven with pot holes. this place use to beautiful
We love taking our jet ski here! You can back right into the water! :)
Dunedin causeway and honeymoon island are beautiful and relaxing. The causeway is a great place to chill, walk, sun, hang your hammock or just sit on one of the many donated benches and enjoy the view. Go and read all the donation plaques applied to the benches its really heartwarming the things people do for each other.
A relaxing destination for an afternoon bike ride. I go there every other week.
Such a beautiful place to take family. Fishing off causeway super. Was hoping to catch crabs, no success. Fun place to go enjoy nature.
Awsome place
Great atmosphere great time all the time!
Been fishing here for a decade from the drawbridge. Many great memories of fish caught.
Soul soothing bliss
I take this route to Honeymoon Island, always clean
Love this pace to catch the sunset, to go fishing or relax and swim. They have a kayak rentsl place and like food stand to get something. Right down the street is frenchies best restaurant ever.
Great fishing. Beautiful sunset
Speaking from a fishing point of view, the south side of the inner portion of the first bridge needs pole holders and the entire second bridge needs pole holders but I definitely still enjoy fishing here!
One of my favorite Florida beach areas. Clean, friendly, and relaxing.
Lots to do and see always full of life
Nice views!
Large variety of water activities Sea-Doo fishing boating swimming sunbathing kayaking paddle boarding hiking or just plain enjoying the sunset
Cool place to be able to park your car with the water touching it, just dont pull out during low tide
