Located right in back of Telegraph off of Fenkell. Native flowers, a bridge, Monarch butterflies and the Rouge River.Went with a tour guide with my friends and it was fun to see places of the park I never seen before.

A gem of a place to walk that I did not know existed. Entrance and parking lot off of Fenkell (5 Mile) and Telegraph. Evidently good for warblers in spring and fall.

This was my first time at Eliza Howell Park and it is an absolutely wonderful space. I was there for an outdoor evening jazz concert, featuring trombonist, Vince Chandler, and songstress, Kimwana Doner. The park was clean and very well maintained. Im looking forward to visiting again.

Park has turned into a dog park. If you have control over your dog, its great. However, some people dont and my dog got attacked last year by 2 pit bulls. So, be careful. Otherwise, great place, nice regulars, usually pretty clean and well kept until there is a busy holiday or a weekend when people grill and dont clean up after themselves, road is full of pot holes....

I went in off schoolcraft, as a kid I used to walk here from the projects with Mom, I actually played on these cement things too (50 yrs ago) .. sad this entire area is way over grown and a wasted space .. cool to reminisce

Morning person. Love this park, never had a problem with anyone. Glad they added those boulders, so people will stop driving up on the grass. The regular dog walkers are cool. Each visit i try to give back, by picking up litter. My dogs love it. Beautiful place, beautiful people. I dont feel so bad about some of my property taxes going to the upkeep of parks,

The City of Detroit have no visible park posting regarding Dogs..Its not a dog park, People allow their Dogs to run freely without a leash, thats aviolation.. That rule is not Enforced by the park officials,..Ultimately making it unsafe to use the walking trails..

Whatever is rating this Park 5 stars must have come from RaWanda. The South side of the park hasnt been open for about 2-3 decades, even the barricade blocking the South drive entrance is weathering away.Yesterday 7/14/17 I drove by the South Park next to the I-96 service drive, it has the look of what would happen if an apocalypse occurred and mankind no longer existed, eg.. waist high weeds and grass, even the drive way is being overwhelmed, not visible, and park swing sets and equipment are now just shells of what used to be.I will take a drive through the North entrance or the loop as its called, even though I have been warned not to go alone, because of the possibility of, I may not be leaving standing up.The last I heard was that the park hasnt been safe for anyone or anything since the early 1980s, and essentially is just a reflection of the Brightmore neighborhood. On an upside Im certain wildlife are taking refuge and loving it. It would be a botanical dream should you study true botany in an urban area. just watch your backThe river still divides the park from Google Earth pictures, maybe a bridge was built? The wooded area is actually quite large, but again I dont know if I would walk about to much.Hopefully, really hopefully the park has been eradicated of any potentially dangerous persons.I will see next weekend.

This is a very nice park to walk the nature trails and enjoy the quiet privacy this park allows. We were recently here on a Geocaching CITO (Cache In-Trash Out) event. We filled 3 garbage bags full with trash from just one section of the park. There were about 20 of us and when we were done, the place looked pristine. On our trip back into the nature trails, we saw a coyote and met a nice man who was taking photos of it.
