This place is closed down now. Doors and windows all boarded up.
Mellow garage rock bar. Full bar. Can beers only. Sweet upstairs deck although it was too cold for it when I came. Bartenders are super friendly.
Great music vibe, the night we were there, & rooftop access was a nice plus.
I met up with some friends here on a Saturday night. We had a great time and drinks were reasonably priced. The bartender was very nice and remembered what I had ordered. The atmosphere was very nice and the dj was really good. My friends and I enjoyed a great night out. I liked that there were plenty of other bars to choose from in the area. This one had no cover so that was an added bonus. I will definitely be back
1st time going to this place and the music was lame. It did not get you in the mood to have a good time other than to stand there and bob your head. I ordered 1 shot for $9 and left a $2 tip and the next morning they overcharged me $4 on my account. I was nowhere near drunk nor tipsy. Therefore I remember everything I did last night. Just wanted to give a warning to others, that they will “overcharge” you. Keep your eyes on your account with this place!!
My husband and I will never visit again. Was on the patio sitting in what was unknown to us, the VIP section(didnt look anything like VIP), when a guy walked over and sat down with his lady friend. That guy then called security over and next thing you know we were told to leave that area. My husband was willing to pay to sit in that section (VIP lol)but when I asked security what the cost was he stated to me that it would be at the discretion of the guy who walked over with the lady friend if we could sit there. I was curious and asked Who is he? Thats when I was informed that he was the owner. I was disgusted knowing that this owner would walk in and treat his customers as if they were less than and we just decided to leave. He acted as if he was some kind of celebrity. And as an owner, your section should be far more impressive than that. Drinks were very overpriced as well.
Cool Tiki Bar in North Hollywood. The place is fairly dark in terms of lighting and there is a good mix of folk as patrons...Stop in and have a drink sometime!
Great bar! Great karaoke! Ive never been as impressed with a karaoke DJ as I was with her! Have you ever rocked the mic with a blow up guitar or saxophone? I can proudly say that I have.
Love the rooftop area of this place. The downstairs area is pretty small. I dont like the new dance floor area. Too small. I liked it better when it was Red Light Lounge. Other than that, its a chill spot to hang out for drinks and listen to music.
I love this club. Its super nice and fun. Also, i love the drinks.
The Nines has a Fantastic late brunch! They serve real mimosas with more champagne than OJ and they are only $3. The chicken and waffle sandwiches are awesome! In fact, all of the food is good. Ive never had bad food there. I love that I can dance and eat in the same place. Mondays are 1/2 price food night and they play Cards Against Humanity or Trivia. They also have game consoles hooked up to TVS in some booths. Its a dance club that is fast becoming a neighborhood every day hangout.
Great environment, great drinks, great food
I had fun there one time! another time i tried going the place was a dead zone, its very crowded, on the roof top is more hip hop and on the bottom of the bar is techno music which is in the air conditioning. its an OK bar
The Tuesday night karaoke host is extremely rude and condescending. She takes frequent long breaks and plays random music instead of letting people sing. She has a constant bored look on her face and never actually sings herself. Don’t recommend.
Great music. The DJ on Fridays is good.
My Birthday was Yesterday May 11, worst experience ever. Bartender took my cash with out returning our drinks on camera, gave me and my wife the finger. I requested too speak to a manager at mediately, and ended up getting Excoriated out. Very Embarrassing worst Birthday Ever .
Good drink prices and really great patio but my lord, the music was so dang loud upstairs. Maybe im old (32?) but we could not hear each other speak due to how loud the music was. Would have loved to stay longer but ended up moving on to the next place.
I love this place! Awesome atmosphere, roof top, and overall good vibe. I got to sample the food they will be serving, made by a REAL CHEF, my god...I might move in. The couches are comfortable after all.
This place is beautiful! The cocktails are good, but every time Im there, theres not a lot of people. Its kind of weird.
This place is awesome. Their internet is unbelievable! Blazing. Atmosphere and staff are top notch!
Its not often I praise the staff at a bar, but the staff here really is great. No issues with security at the entrance, affordable drinks and the air conditioning works! At the end of the night, I realized I had lost my purse and was convinced I was never going to find it. I was wrong and I owe a huge thanks for the bar staff for helping search for it.
What’s up with security here?
Came here on the recommendation of a resident working in the area. Particularly, the bar was open during a day party, so I got to come in when drinks were cheap and business was relatively slow. The service, on the other hand, was anything but slow, and the staff on all accounts couldnt have been more courteous. Even the security guards at the entrance were very courteous and accommodating. Drink selection was decent, and prices were really good- $3.25 for a PBR tallboy is always good, and they do $5 Wild Turkey on some days as well!I havent gone here at night, but have received numerous suggestions to do so. Id love to visit for the Synthwave night! Its always good to see staff acting professional during off-hours (early afternoon).
I havent had the food here. But the music is awesome and people are great also.
Great staff and always a good time! I wish Texas Psy would come back but, I believe that has less to do with the venue and more so the DJs. Ive enjoyed watching the dance space and stage evolve!
Been here 3 times now and had a most enjoyable time each time. An Abnormal Formal, A Vintage Cocktail hour and this past Sat 2/18/17. BTW, there cuban sandwich is awesome
This place is huge and in a great spot, the bartenders are generous, if you are. And the music is great. They have alternative events for those on dark side like me.
Decadent and Elegance all in one. Thank you for giving us an amazing place to enjoy.
So much fun.
This place is hit or miss. Puts on entertaining shows and sets some weekends. Bartenders are cool.
Ive been to several events since the change over to the new look and name. Against other reviews about the odd events and atmosphere, I find it a nice change of pace from typical clubs and bars in Deep Ellum. The upstairs area is very unique and its where I go to each time it is open. The new rigging to allow aerial performances is one of kind for the area and looks great at street view. The interior has a great vibe to it and plays off the atmosphere the place is trying to do. It feels sophisticated but I dont feel out of place in jeans. The events going on are fun to attend in various costume. I showed up dressed 1930s style and people were in Togas, anime costume and even full ball gowns…its basically a costume party every weekend.Id say give it a shot before reading into what other people review this place as each person will find the place unique in a positive or negative way. Personally I think its a welcomed addition to the neighborhood and you wont find a place like it.
How often can you find live entertainment, great DJs, fast and friendly bartenders, and the best damn chef prepared food all in one place? Come to the Nines hungry, eat some flat breads or the incredible cheese board, then dance those calories off all night with some of the most beautiful weirdos in the city.
Always something fun going down here, and the bartenders are generous if you are! ;) Monday nights are hilarious with Cards Against Humanity, which is excellent for those of us with a twisted sense of humor, lol. Wednesdays rocks out new wave, industrial, and goth music. Thursdays are great with EDM and a high energy crowd. Plus you never know what sexy burlesque acts youll catch here, skilled aerialists up on the rooftop, or what interesting folks youll meet at the monthly Abnormal Formal at this counter-culture club. I feel at home here at The Nines, where you can let your freak flag fly!
Good people making good times happen. If you’re tired of the usual, check out the events calendar here and get out of your rut.
We have good time there.
Music is very good and it has a serious base effect.. Drinks are priced resonably and good service.. Will definitely go there again..
Kind staff, expensive drinks but good place.
Great bar staff... tip heavy.
10/27/17 Took 10 mins of standing at the bar for them to take my order. My vodka&cranberries were watered down. She filled my Manhattan to HALF the cup (&it was full of ice in a little plastic cup) This drink was $10 but I didnt try&dispute it. The other bartender started overflowing my cup when I asked for water. I guess she was trying to be funny but it almost got on my phone. The DJ only plays dubstep type beats. I enjoyed dancing to it but I wish there was a little musical diversity..or at least songs and not just beats. I came on a Friday night&it wasnt that great. Idk if I would return.
Drinks are higher then expected but great Dj
Nice recent remodel, great sound system, and very friendly staff.
I was a nice to place to go to. If you like electronic music this place is cool. Not the EDM fans, just people who like to relax and enjoy music.
Cheap drinks and amazing view of skyline. Way better view then happiest hour and they have a DJ and a girl who hangs/spins from a ribbon on the balcony.
Amazing loved it my first time
Rude bartenders, bad music, pricey drinks!
Great club with excellent bartenders. I love theireading live shows and special events.
This place is typical of the Deep Ellum neighborhood. There was nothing special or fancy. Red furniture and super dark walls and floor. I give it a 2 star because I went on a random weekday night to meet up with a friend that wanted to check it out. The entrance was confusing because they apparently moved it. It used to be on the street which meant you walked through the place to get to the bar. But now they have it on the side of the building which would make sense but theres nothing to really indicate that. It also opens up directly into a pay lot which doesnt give it curb-side appeal. It leads me to think they either own the parking or are getting a cut. Therefore, they want you to park there for convenience. I was the only person standing anywhere near the bar for service and had to wait several minutes each time for the bartender to decide to serve me instead of talking to her friend. Even then, it was the friend-who I suppose was also an employee/manager-who would point at me so I could get served. The bartender wasnt rude, just preferred to stand around and chat than work. I give the 2 stars because of service and I didnt really like the place. Upstairs on the roof is a nice but limited view of downtown. I was put off by the suspension rig that apparently the owner uses to suspend himself from hooks. Not my thing but this is Deep Ellum, that kind of thing is probably encouraged. Like most of these bars that cater to more of the underbelly of Dallas, it might not last long.
A very interesting bar, although I wish we had gotten to see the suspension. They have a lot of theme nights and very friendly staff. Parking is a nightmare in this area, so plan ahead.
Great shows and music. Fresh new club in Dallass art district: Deep Ellum
Everything and everyone here are wonderful! Gotta love my Pan family and Church folks!
Fun bar with great DJ nights and and amazing view of downtown Dallas from its rooftop patio
Wow. What a horrific experience. Brunette bartender aggressive, unskilled, and just mean. Im being nice.
Was one of the best clubs ive been to in years, 2 floors!!
Love this place. Great beats.
Closed but filmed a movie there cool place
Neat rooftop bar with a great view of the dallas skyline.
One of the best atmospheres in Deep Ellum
Magical stand alone Venue double bar beautiful view of deep ellum roof top and bonus FOOD!
Always a great place to hear those retro records spin
Nice place and good music, but someone was consistently smoking weed on the rooftop and that smell was disgusting.
Great lounge vibe, but with uptempo music
Fantastic venue with an equally fantastic staff and atmosphere!!!
Excellent design and layout with great music. A++ I always make it here when Im in town.
There really wasnt a crowd there was an upstairs that had this circular thing hanging from the ceiling so I thought something was going to happen with that but nothing ever came of it and the music was kind of EDM
Holy frick! $14 for just one 12oz can beer what a rip off!!
Decent music- odd fitting crowd is accurate. Idk how that happens?
Good djs. odd crowd
Diana is the best thing at The Nines!
