The biggest and perhaps the sole reason to attend Panoptikon Friday nights is for fantastic Electro-Goth-Industrial-EBM-SynthPop dance music by three epic DJs. You may very well NEVER get off the dance floor because the great music just keeps coming and coming and coming! BUT...If you appreciate socializing with cool, friendly, open-minded people (regulars) then that is definitely the #2 reason to go! And #3? Great drinks and service (if not a huge crowd of course)... all these three reasons until 3am or beyond! And theres #4... a fabulous dance-workout for cardio and physio-flexing, REPEATEDLY!!! Haha!
Lord Byron and Son of Sam spin oldies and current music that makes vampires cry and bats scream. The people who come to the club are like a big welcoming family. I always love my Friday night at Panoptikon.
I love it. Welcoming environment for the odd and obscure, the ones who are called weird when everyone else is normal. We are the island of misfit toys.
Great music. Stiff drinks. Fun crowd. Dive bar meets dance hall.
VIP area had great view over the crowd. AC was awesome. Drink service was epic. Disability accessible! No issues with mobility devices.
A unique club that has a super welcoming crowd of regulars. An easy place to feel at home even around strangers.
Bet place to forget about everyone in the dance floor and move to 80s dark wave music and some contemporary industrial hits. Best place to be at.
Goth, Industrial, 80s club. Cover is usually $5-8 or more depending on if there is an event. There is a small paid parking lot next to the club, or meters on the street (which are free after midnight). Drinks are strong, patio/lounge area for smokers, awesome music, friendly crowd.
Open on Fridays and Saturdays, largely for the Goth scene. Has a cover charge, but relatively cheap drinks. Surrounded by NOT FREE parking, so plan ahead.
Got to see their new digs for the first time a few weeks ago. Was really blown away. Big dance floor, good amount of seating and several areas for different vibes or noise levels.
My favorite goth club! Great drinks, music, and people
Every third Saturday its Disco Vs Retro, and I never miss it! I love the diverse crowd, the music, and the dancing! They were voted 2013 Top Theme Night by Dallas Voices Readers Choice Awards, and its a well deserved honor!
Good Dj, good concept, BUT Lord Byron has not been able to grow his following for many years now since the location off of Maple which was short lived. Then secured a decent spot at Red Light for a short while, but still no growing outside of the current crowd of people. Now somewhere near downtown, with still the same following. Something is missing with his advertising or the current crowd as I have seen it is not attractive in terms of making people want to see what its all about. The goth crowd has always been a hard one to sell anywhere so its possible this is the last stop before it dies out. Sad, he can not find a permanent home.
Let me clarify on my answer to the question about unisex bathrooms. The bar this club uses does not have a unisex bathroom, officially. But this is a Goth club night. There are both men and women in the womens bathroom gossiping and touching up makeup at any time. I cant speak about the mens room as ive never had an itch to go in there.
Drunk old men that dont know how to handle their liquor falling into people and slapping their asses. Used to be cool, not anymore. No one shows up.
Panoptikon is Dallas TX s best Gothic / Industrial Night Club Experience. Lord Byron and Son of Sam spin oldies and current music that makes vampires cry and bats scream. The people who come to the club are like a big welcoming family. I always love my Friday night at Panoptikon.
