Beautiful concrete walking path there is a shorter loop around the lake & a in her one around the perimeter of the park. Lots of lovely scenery, waterfalls & fountains in the lake. A nice serene pavilion over the lake, picnic pavilions, beach with swimming ( pre COVID) splash pad for summertime fun. 2 Playgrounds and lodge for rental. Fantastic place. The path Also connects to other trails so you can walk from one side of town to the other almost completely in the woods!
Pretty gorgeous place. If you like e. Coli.
Id say its probably my favorite park to walk at in Columbia. It has several options for walking routes, picnic tables to enjoy a lunch out at, public restrooms, drinking fountains, as well as a path that takes you across the lake, which is beautiful. I always see people biking, roller blading, skate boarding, jogging, or taking their pets out for a walk as well. Beautiful scenery in general.
Very nice, clean park! It has areas to fish and a kids playground. Walking trail is now one way to help maintain social distancing. Beach is closed for swimming but water fountain play area is open... which I dont understand!
Its so clean and safe, love to let the kids just run and play
I walk and take photos here all the time. Excellent flora and fauna, the occasional event, and two walking paths in a well maintained, pleasant place. Very near the heart of the city and easy to get to.
Its a nice park to walk and enjoy the outdoors they have a nice lake to walk around. Great place for your children to run around and play and to walk your dog.
This is a gorgeous park. Very nice trail all the around the lake and the facilities. Its fun for all ages of the family with a beach area and water spray attractions to play in. Tall fenced in area all around the water play area for security. The park has indoor restrooms and there are many covered picnic areas all around the lake.
This is where my husband & I first met. Our kids & our dogs loves this park. My parents love coming here every time they visit us on holidays.
A great place to walk with my life partner..clean environment and well maintained..
I love Steven Park its very nice I hope at the restrooms theyre always filthy
This lovely park has it all really. Theres 2 trails, one less than a mile and one over. They connect so you can chop that distance however you like. Theres 2 playgrounds for the kids, and a couple shelters for rent or to have a bite to eat outside if you brought some food. The sledding hill in the winter is great. I believe its the Hinkson Creek trail that connects to the park also, and on the eastern side where far less people go is some great walking and open fields for tossing a Frisbee or flying a kite or just about anything you want to do. The fields are the size of a football field or 2 so the skies the limit. And the swimming area in the lake has a nice little beach and is a good alternative to a chlorine filled pool if you want to take a dip. Theres also some sculptures and an amphitheater in the park that gets used several times a year for various events. Theres a building that can be rented for parties or wedding receptoons too. And lastly, the scenic landscaping that is natural and constructed throughout the park makes it a pleasure to stroll through. Theres a couple large water falls and a nice boardwalk across the lake. Anyone can enjoy this park.
My dog Marley loves this dog park! She cant wait to go. From the time I release her at the gate she takes off around the lake, in the lake, shaking water all over me lol. Several dogs love to compete for the balls thrown in. I have never had trouble with anyone there. There was an issue with a dominating dog that took Marley down however, the owner handled it. We like to go every other day for a few hours...and Marley doesnt let me forget! Lol. Little dogs are happy there too.
Didnt know this existed, good place to free mental space
Used to be a fantastic golf course. Now its just like any of the other million parks in town. Massive in size.
My kids like to swim and play In the fountains...its a really nice park and its not far from our home...
Amazing night for a walk around a beautiful lake.
Its a wonderful little park. There are several different walking trails that you can take. You can bring your fishing equipment, go swimming area, or play on the playground. Its open from sunrises to sunset.
Great place to walk and have a little picnic kids can run and play too.
Beautiful park for a festival. Has a splash pad for kids, as well as a playground.
Paths are marked for Social Distancing and the beach/splash-park are closed for the Pandemic. Otherwise its beautiful.
Nice place to take your loved ones and friends to just have done fun and be outside and not think of covid 19
Great walking/running paths. Well maintained landscaping. Water is a little gross looking
A great place to take the kids!
Beautiful and serene surroundings. Dogs welcome on a leash. Plenty of picnic areas and parking. Might have trounle in an RV but I have seen it done.
Well the fountain splash park is open, but the restrooms are closed. Quite disgusting if you ask me because I have to assume that kids and adults are peeing right there in the fountain area. Absolutely horrid. Completely unsanitary.
A great place for family fun. This park offers a beautiful lake with a paved walking path around its entirety, the path also cuts across the lakes center adjoining to a small island with docked gazebos that offer a great view of the downtown skyline especially enjoyable at sunset. The park also boasts two fun playgrounds, sites for fishing, swimming and canoeing as well as a public firepit stocked with logs to burn.
Beautiful area. Walk there quite a bit this year.
It is rather small but the lake is beautiful
Beautiful local park. Love the gazebo out in the lake.
It is a beautiful park with lots for the kids to do ( including swimming and fishing). The shelter we reserved was perfect for our family reunion!️
Perfect place for a day with the kids, or a beautiful picnic date night with your honey.
Walked the perimeter. Lovely night.
Oh the is the perfect Lil city park. Good times will be had at this park.
Stephens Lake is a great place for a variety of activities at and around the lake. A fun place to fish, ride a bike, or simply check out the scenery.
Beautiful place to walk, bike, or run. Its nice with the lake, fountains, multiple docks, numerous path choices. Great place to reset & get away!
Nice trails to walk on. Arrows pointing the direction to walk. Nice quiet fishing too.
Beautiful park to walk or just hang out at!
Well put together . Fishing, nature, walking great views
Huge park lots to do and great for dogs
Had a picnic lunch for 6 people on the north side by Riechmann Pavilion . Great time except for bathrooms being locked .
A incredible place for kids and adults
This beautiful, peaceful park is an oasis in the middle of our small city! Our visionary mayor, Darwin Hindman(RIP), led the city council to see the value of this green space in a city that has been overcome by high rise apartments!
It’s been a long time since I had been to Stephens lake. The lake and splash pad area was clean. It’s a great place to take the kids. The lake is shallow and it’s fun to play in the sand and go back and forth to splash pad. I feel like it’s a great area in the sense it’s hard for kids to wonder off, as it’s mainly closed in. Plus, it has a lot of shade from mature trees. The bath by the parking lot wasn’t the cleanest but we did go on a Saturday evening and I assume the aren’t cleaned on the weekends.
Big park with room for any activity you can imagine. Its kept pretty clean and is a great place for outings.
A Park that rivals other City Parks in similar sized communities. Having a Memorial Bench and Heritage Tree in this Park makes it extra special for me and my family to visit from time to time. The Lake is large, clear and defines the heart of the space. With an interior paved walking path around the perimeter of the Lake, as well as a longer paved walking and running trail the Park gives persons options for leisure walking and exercise / fitness pursuits. An amphitheater provides outdoor concerts and a venue for special annual events such as Roots-N-Blues-N-BBQ in the Fall. The Park is also home to the Annual Art in the Park event and a perfect backdrop for patrons of the arts to enjoy viewing the creations of artists from around the United States. A Splash-Park is also another feature of Stephens Lake Park and one very suitable for children.
I enjoyed the fall season thanks to Stephens lake park !
Nice little place for family outing or just to go get away from everyone
Really wonderful large park in the middle of Columbia, bringing nature to the city. Has lots of small pavilions around and multiple playgrounds, plus lots of empty space great for small gatherings or other outside activities.
Beautiful park with walking trails, sand beach, fire pit, and multiple shelters
Beautiful view! Peaceful
Scenic and flat space. Great to walk around the lake or take the bigger loop around the park. It used to be a golf course.
Nice place to stop and have lunch.
Amazing park, nice for walking and picnic including an amphitheatre!
A very open and beautiful park with docks and walkways on the lake, a playground, small waterfalls and plenty of benches to sit down and relax to just enjoy nature. The bathrooms could certainly use more care, but this is the only issue I have with this park. Its a wonderful place for a picnic, gathering, or just a place to get away and relax.
Love running here for years, best open style park in Columbia
Love this Park
One of the best parks in town.
Love this place, The scenery is unbelievable.
We just stop by that day, but I love the lake! Very nice park.
Nothing better on a nice day than to take a stroll around the park! Stephens Lake is a beautiful park that is well taken care of that has something for pretty much everyone! The trail is completely paved, making it great for walkers, runners, or bikers. There is an area with water fountains and lake swimming, a play ground, and a space that is available for rent for special events. There are two paths you can walk, one is a smaller/shorter path around the lake and the other travels the perimeter of the park. If you are a fan of Pokemon Go, there are usually really good Pokemon you can nab here. Definitely worth visiting on a beautiful day!
Well designed park with something for everyone. Free swimming and splash fountain in the summer. Its a great place to walk or jog.
We always love to visit here. Theres such a variety of things to enjoy as a family--playground, swimming, walking, gardens!
Its a nice park with yet another lake which is good
This park is really nice, love the board walk and fountain
Its a beautiful park, especially for a three day music festival! It has a lake with a beach.
This place is a nice place to swim at if you want a feel for the lake. One nice thing about this place is that it is absolutely free to swim here so you dont need to hurt your wallet by swimming here. There is also a trail to run at and a playground for any of the little ones which adds loads of variety to this place. Another nice thing about this lake is that you can swim with the ecosystem which can give a good feeling to nature enthusiasts. Overall this is just a beautiful lake you and anyone you want to bring with you can enjoy and a nice trail for anyone who wants to get active and a playground for any kids to play at. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Columbia.
Nice Lake, very chill, nice path around the park
Great walk on a spring day yet maybe adding some lights for safety. My daughter asked for glow in the dark trails. But a beautiful evening!
Beautiful park! Nice walking trail and plenty of field to host family outings
Better described as a recreation area. Has been used for large concert venue Roots-Blues-BBQ venue for some years. 5-star my (& most other local reviewers) highest. May have some 4-star reviews over it [varies] valid.-All amenities from any main entrance (3)-Multiple pavilions w BBQ, south entrance.-Summer swimming area (free)-Multiple small concert/show venues-Overall well designed-Excercise, disc golf, etc.-Catch-n-release Learner fishingMinor critiques over rather busy, sometimes difficult parking. Some pavilions & restrooms overused (or fire-hose cleaned). But better described as a very busy recreation area, 5-star*more pending
Looked lovely in the winter. The walks were ploughed too.
Beautiful scenery with comfortable paved pathways. Theres the lake itself, for fishing, with a swim area at the West end. Multiple parking areas allow you to park near the areas you wish to visit. Atop the southern hill, there are picnic shelters, an event location on the North side, and an open air auditorium with grass seating near the northwest corner. On the North, West and South side, there are convenient restrooms, although the West ones are closed during the freezing season from October 15 to April 15.
Thank you! We had so much fun!
Beautiful park with a very big lake to walk around.
Love the splash park, play areas and the lake.
Nice family park to relax and enjoy the COMPANY
So beautiful park& playground spry, we came from another state and we love it. I so happy we visited it before we go back to home
They need a leash off area at this park for the dog
If youre wondering what this park is like, you should just go and see it!
Love this place awesome place to take the kiddos or furry family to. I love all the events they host here and the inclusiveness they provide.
It is a peaceful Park to enjoy walking your dogs Pokemon hunting and just having a good time with your family
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful park and lake!!! The walkways were amazing!! Wonderful getaway! The bathrooms were pretty icky though. They hadnt been cleaned in a while and there were no paper towels.
Beautiful, and fun for everyone. Theres parks, trails, and a lake. Perfect for kids, dogs, a date, etc.!
Such an awesome park, it’s great for live concerts, fishing, walking, hammocking, and so much more!!
My familys favorite place to get some fresh air. The lake is beautiful and the walking trails are not too challenging to take a preschooler, plus the random water features and plants throughout on ake is beautiful even for short attention spans.
Beautiful spot to take children or just walk alone. You can swim in the Lake during summer or sometimes ice skates in winter. Nice walking trails and playgrounds, splash park in summer.
Pretty scenery. Nicely maintained. A great place to walk your dog.
Beautiful sight and wonderful place to spend time with the family but not allowed to make noise.
Fun splash park for kids, great walking paths with lake that has swimming access with beach.
Good to be out and about. Windy and chilly.
Beautiful and scenic. Having a free pool is nice so my kids can go swimming pretty much whenever. Mostly I go here for light exercise like walking the paved trails around the lake. There are lots of pavilions and places to have an event or just to bbq. Usually my first choice if Im going to a park
Nice place to walk around and enjoy the outdoors
All around nice place
Absolutely beautiful lake and park always a pleasure
Convenient location and set up. Not to far from where you can park you car, and still see the surroundings from your car.
