Um we hike here as a family every year. It is a very easy hike and the view of the Susquehanna River is so great at the lookout. I used to live in this area as a kid and we would hike it. It seemed amazing so I started the yearly tradition with my family as an adult. No regrets. Plus there is the Turkey Hill place right nearby.

We learned about this overlook online. We went to the part off of 441 on a bend. Large parking area with main entrance.The walk starts uphill on a large, long path with lots of small rocks. No asphalt here. Once we got to the top the rest of the way is flat and less rocky.The overlooks - there are 2 areas a short path away from one another - are great viewing areas overlooking the river. It is popular. A good amount of people gathered the evening we went to see the sunset.It was great, the sunset pics here cannot do it justice. Tip: If you go for sunsets allow 20 to 30 minutes walk each way. And bring a flashlight for the return trip.

Great views, more of a walking trail than a hiking trail, unless you want to check out the Overlook. Even thats not bad, just rocky in spots. Not a ton of parking, but there are a few lots, you just have to keep your eyes open.

Love the trail here. Parking at both ends but large lot at Columbia end at the information center. Plenty to see. A cool walk on a hot day since there is more tree coverage. Polite, and courteous bike riders, no one just running you down. Well paved great for strollers.

Chickies is a great place to either hike or relax. Pros or amateurs can do the hiking trail(s). When choosing which one, do the research before getting there or else you won’t know which trails to take depending on your experience. It’s a safe environment. Beware, there are no trash cans on the site. So if you plan on eating anything that must be disposed of, do it knowing that it must stay in your vehicle, DO NOT litter. It’s a beautiful place, good for a day trip and near other “landmarks” in Lanc, PA.

Nice easy walk to the look out. Some more challenging trails if you know where to go.

We were there to attend a wedding of one of my wifes coworkers. Its a beautiful scenic overlook of the river, well maintained. Great for photography enthusiasts!

Second time 10.6.2020, to see fall leaves, but it is still too early for that. Last year I was too late, I will make sure next year to catch it. It is A really beautiful And quite place. Air is fresh

A fairly boring trail. The trolley tracks are the only interesting part. The view is alright. Ive gone into the woods looking for more interesting trails, thinking there was some secret that I was missing as to why everyone loves it here. I even went past the signs. I found nothing exciting or challenging.

A quick easy hike around the hill (we didnt take the over the hill path). It was too foggy to see much of anything but the views are still impressive. Well be back on a sunny day!

The views! Wear sneakers with grip, or hiking boots to see the sights here. Short short hike, great view.

We had an awesome time hiking out to the overlook with our kiddos here. We had our 4 and 2 year olds that were able to hike it by themselves. We also had our 4 month old in a carrier. The view was amazing and so beautiful. We stopped to eat lunch and having the view was nice. We would hike here again!

Beautiful view from the overlook. The parking lot is a bit treacherous to exit. It is on a curve in the road and the traffic moves at a very high rate of speed so when you leave hit the gas and pray.

Paved path, easy to walk or ride. Young and old alike can enjoy the shaded pathway and beautiful views.

One of the best views if not the best view in the area . Theres a reason people come from all over to visit and why its always packed on the weekends .

New favorite trail! Theres 3 miles of paved trails but also some off roading and a gorgeous view at the top. Trails are kept up and is clean. Perfect for biking, walking, running, rollerblading, and parking is even easy.

It was a short walk. Signs a bit deceiving as one trail was up hill and brought us back to the lower trail. View was wonderful though.

Theres a nice overlook at the end of a short easy hike. Its mostly flat & shaded from the parking lot to the overlook. If youre more adventurous, there are other trails available.

Beautiful place. Due to the rocky hills and trails, Id highly recommend wearing boots or rubber soled, closed toed shoes. Very fun and the view is worth the climb!

This is a great place to visit. And if your not into hiking the hard stuff.stay in the lower route to the left. Much easier to hike. And you reach the same location. Easy parking .

Great place to enjoy nature. The overlook trail is well maintained, making it an easy hike to points overlooking the Susquehanna River. Chickies Rock Overlook is really worth the hike: It overlooks a particularly hard bend in the river, giving both a latitudinal and longitudinal view of the river.

I hiked from my car to the pavilion, then gazed out onto the river. Great view of the Susquehanna River from the Lancaster side. For some reason the sun was out this day. A rare occurrence in this area. The park is very nice a great place to bring your family.

Beautiful overlook to the Susquehanna.

Hiked last week on one of the first warm days of spring, the trail could be market better, and I wound up in an area that had only a steep/unplanned way to traverse down. It looks like lots of other people have wound up in this area and have scrambled down and overtime created a path, but it seems unsafe. The view at the end is pretty, but well trafficked. There were a lot of high school kids in the area playing loud music and a lot of trash in the area as well. So the view is very pretty, but it’s not so zen!

Please bring a trash bag because there is litter everywhere. I have cleaned up trash here multiple times but every time I go theres more. Please dont litter.

Love this park! So much so that I carried a Google Trekker down the overlook trail to capture the official street view.The breezy overlook is also one of my favorite spots to quickly pull in at sunset for a beautiful view of the Susquehanna River and Marietta.At the base of the rock the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail passes through the park between Columbia and Marietta. Lots interesting things to see on this section of the trail!Checkout my friends at Chickies Rock Outfitters to rent a bike or gear up for a paddling mission down the river!

Easy in and out trail. Spectacular view if the river and sunset. It was hard to pull out though when we left as the parking was on a curve. Easier at night so you could see head lights.

Found the trail via the app AllTrails. This trail was a very nice wide trail. The parts that we went on were all relatively flat and had gravel or dirt. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a short nature walk with an outstanding overlook!

Gorgeous fall day

Great short walk with easy and moderate trails that all lead out to beautiful views over the ricer. Chickies Rock offers easy parking and with even an ok off road stroller you can make it through the trails. If you have young ones bring water as their is no place on the walk for getting any. Great picnic area but no tables just natural rocks to eat off of.

Nice short hike with a view of the Susquehanna River at the end. There is a nice flat stone path for easy walking and then a bunch of little rugged paths for more energetic hikers!

An amazing spot to catch the sunset or just a view of the Susquehanna, and the main overlook is a mere 1 mile easy hike from the parking lot. The only complaint is that it can get rather busy here, but I cant exactly complain about others enjoying the views

The path was very rocky in some places and was fairly short. I cant see spending more than an hour here even with spending most of that hour at lookout for the susquehanna river. Unless I missed a path but the signs were very clear about not going off the main loop.

I grew up here as a child. Its always great to return. They now have a paved path from Columbia to Marietta. One of my all time favorite spots.

Nice trail for a short yet invigorating hike. Make sure you wear closed toe shoes or sneakers as there are a lot of rocks and beginning of hike is somewhat steep. Views of the Susquehanna River are beautiful from the overlook. Hike is about a mile. On another note, Google Maps directions passed the parking lot by .2 of a mile so be alert. Parking lot is small. Road to get there is busy so careful entering and exiting the parking lot. In summary, wear close toe shoes to enjoy your hike, take lots of pics at the overlook, and enjoy!
