I happened to be visiting my friend which lives in an apartment in front of the park. I spent many summers here as I was growing up. For i used to live in the apartment in front of park. Most of my time was spent fishing on Pratt pier, swimming and grilling and Sun Bathing. In winter in the 1970s and 1980s Lake Michigan freezers over. I would walk on the lake on mini ice - bergs. What a blast.

I really like the feel for this park. When I need to clear my head real quick, its overwatch of the city sets the tone for reflection while reminding me that I have to go back into it again. The pathways are well-kept, clean and reliable. Garbage bins are readily available and at night, the paths are appropriately light...not too blinding to take away from moonlight but lit enough to reinforce a sense of safety. It is not a park for numbers or where I would do a picnic - it is best suitable for a strool of mediation or a run away from the close by traffic.

One of the hidden gems of the city. How many beaches in Chicago do you know with trees right on the sand for shade? Grassy fields nearby for dogs, soccer, etc. Tennis courts, trees to hang hammocks. Pier to stroll and fish off of.

Best beach for kids. Its all sandbar with the only beach trees in Chicago. Excellent time!!

My favorite beach in Chicago! Diverse and welcoming to all cultures without one feeling overwhelmed by others. Beach areas are plentiful. Sitting areas are benches, inclusive sculptures, and the Rogers park Legends 2018 painted wall. A walkable pier and a protected shrubbery sprawl sit adjacent to each other as well.

Clean. Low Traffic. Well staffed with lifeguards.I cannot say enough good things about this beach.Totally a hidden gem.Its not crowded, easy to access and even parking is fairly easy. The beach is clean/well maintained and super well staffed with lifeguards. Police drive through the beach entrance often and theres green space for non-sand fun.

Very relaxing beach just minutes away from Sheridan/many commodities such as restaurants and bars. Wonderful place to go for a stroll, take a dog or kids, or just sit and think. Lifeguards are on-duty from 11 AM to 7 PM, but there are flags hung every day according to the surf conditions that correspond to whether or not swimming is permitted, caution is advised, or if swimming is prohibited altogether.

Love this beach, it has an iconic painted wall and a cute pier. I’ve been here alone, with groups, and at all times of the day (even past midnight on plenty of occasions) and have never once felt unsafe as a young woman. This beach is also family friendly and is awesome for Pokemon Go players...typically a big group playing with lures and good for gym battles.
