Its interesting enough. I guess if you were a real Disney fan, this would be a great place to add to your scrapbook of Disney memories. Be that as it may, it was only slightly interesting to me, as Im not a big fan one way or the other. The home is situated in a living, breathing, neighborhood; so Im glad its not that big of an attraction, since I wouldnt like to see hundreds of people tromping about a residential area just to see a house. And when you get down to it, thats all it really is: a house on the corner. So if you really want to get philosophical about it, I suppose thats what the American dream is all about: from being born in a small two-story house, becoming one of the most famous names in American mythology.
I lived in his neighborhood for almost four years its really a nice little nook.
It feels like creeping in front of someones house LOL
We want to buy it an restore and raise our kids in it.
Right on the corner of North Tripp and east Palmer. Looks very well and maintained after it was bought out from previous owners. Best way to see it is by taking public transportation because its nestled inside neighborhood.
The birthplace home of world icon, Walt Disney is being restored to its former glory both inside and out. Not everyone is aware Walt was born in Chicago, yet throughout each day fans from across the globe come to take pictures of themselves in front of the structure designed by the hands of Flora Disney and built by Elias Disney. The fact that this home is being preserved serves as a reminder that even if you come from humble beginnings, any child who follows their dream without giving up can change the world.
Its literally just an average house that some cultural icon happened to briefly live in before moving. There really isnt anything to see. The most exciting thing you could possibly witness would be gunshots around the block. Boring
Its a bit of Chicago history. Its cute and decorated for the holidays.
I am a die hard fan of Disney. Visited this place to pay my respects to the Legend. However i was told, its under restoration and was not yet ready for visitors. I would love to visit again during my next trip to chicago
A good place to vist
Its the birth places of WALT DISNEY, the creator of MICKEY MOUSE, GOOFY, DONALD DUCK.
Nice, wish there was appointments for tours
Just a little bit of history tucked away in Chicago. Easy to get to from union station by the train!
It is historic. However, I dont see anyone mentioning the type of neighborhood that its in. That area is in a gang infested area. I dont recommend anyone one to go there. I was raised in that area and it has always been an enter at your own risk. Move the house somewhere else please.
Didnt go inside just happened upon it while in the area
Nice to know history of this house.
American capitalist icon. Barf.
A huge Walt Disney fan since 1968 when I was 11 yrs old, my visit to Walts birthplace home was a religious feeling. Peaceful, exhilarating, emotional and a blessing to experience. Now off to Marceline, MO.
Wish we could have gone inside
I didnt see Mickey mouse or anyone but I saw hella cobras
Nice place
I grew up in the same block, loved passing by the house so many times, made me very happy!!
Its a very interesting neighborhood and a different atmosphere. And of course its Walt Disneys house
The place is kept well mantain. It has a small sign with little information about da house.
They got free books
Nice to see where this American Icon lived.
I originally lived by this house. Now iam back and they fixed it up. All it is is a house he lived at. They are trying to make something from this to make money. Thats it!
Because its the Birthplace of Walt Disney and because its a very beautiful house to go visit and its got a lot of history too.
I love Florida. Enough said!
