Lovely underutilized boat house park at a very wide section of the south branch of the Chicago River. This spot is where the River connects not just with Bubbly Creek, but is also where the Chicago Canal connects to the Chicago River! This is is actually the endpoint of the Canal — which connects the south branch of the Chicago River with the Des Plaines River north of Joliet. The Park District has built a well designed modern boat house and nearby are attractive new condos as well as smaller nicely maintained Chicago neighborhood style homes. It all makes it a really pleasant hangout. Quiet place with beautiful views of the Chicago River/Canal. There’s easy parking along Eleanor Street.
This awesome riverfront park has a community center, playground, exercise equipment, boat launch, and fishing area. Great spot to come and relax and watch the water. Beware: Lots of goose poop.
Love this modern field house. There is only a small parking lot, but street parking is also available. The boat launch is large and easy to use, but is frequently filled with goose poop. I wish there were more launch sites closer to downtown, the view from here is quite industrial.
This is a slice of the intracoastal waterway tucked into the middle of a quiet slice of Bridgeport hemmed in by expressway, rail and the split in the South Branch. Great views of the near Southwest side, industry, and some of the skyline. Peaceful and usually empty. Good barge watching spot, or you can just watch the birds. Buildings look very nice. Free parking, good bike lock ups.
Both Recovery on Water, Lincoln Park Boat Club, Chicago Crew, and Loyola Academy are fine organizations and Im proud to have rowed with all 4 at one point or another!
Great place for a little picnic with current Family. Near water so please because with children. Great place for a night walk.
Excellent location adjacent to the river. Exciting design. Not busy or much used.
Nice place to sit and enjoy the river and view.
Clean and nice environment, fresh air, kind and sincere people., the one will always remember and be back there, Thanks .
A hidden gem on the Chicago River! This is a gorgeous little park right where the Calumet Channel and Bubbly Creek meet to become the South Branch of the river, with views of the Ashland Avenue bridge (west) and downtown (east). The Eleanor Street Boathouse is also here, and you can watch rowers practice. Because they have done such a great job of cleaning the river and the surrounding area, there’s an INCREASE in the types and amount of wildlife you can find around here.
Chill at night. Very pretty.
Wow! I love discovering new awesome places that lend itself for an area of meditation, and honor and respect to Nature. Had no idea it existed. Replete with birds and other wildlife, a great view of the cities magnificent skyline, and out of the way from the lame hipster traffic, this is a gem worth exploring and sharing. Only with those deserving to know.
Nice open area great for a stroll after dinner.
Very nice dock and ample parking for putting boats or paddle boards on the water. Nice view with little waves/ traffic make it a great location accessible for beginners.
Good place for relaxing and fishing
Fantastic facility. Went for yoga. Great workout yet relaxing.
Great view and kayaking place
Park 571 is a beautiful riverside park where you can feed ducks and fish, or just hang out with friends and enjoy the view. The work out equipment outside is in very good condition, except the inclind/decline dip climber needs to be tightened. one side of the dip climber is unstable and could be hazardous. The indoor programs for the parks field house has rowing, yoga, and day camp for kids. The bathrooms are usually very clean.
Best lowkey park, dont burn it up
Good place to launch paddle board or kayak with free parking
I love to fish there with the kids
Could be a lil cleaner but beautiful view, almost caught a crawfish or it was a baby lobster. I d ok not know whatnit was. I do recommend if you wanna bring ya girl.
5 stars if there was more parking
Good fishing and not congested. Plenty of parking.
Its a small park, but great for the neighborhood. They do offer rowing exercises. Wish the were more park benches. It would be great to sit there and read a book. The main problem is that the bird poop is not cleaned up regularly.
Super cute
The spot yo fish
The best park in the World
Great place to go rowing
No playground, but nice view of the sunset!Friendly neighborhood.Entrance for Kayak & canoes into river found here.
Wonderful addition to the otherwise very industrial riverfront in this area. The facilities are pleasant to look at, clean, and modern. Very easy to launch small watercraft here.
Its good place to go chill
Always enjoy fishing and nature
Excellent place to visit with the family. Quiet and breathtaking views at sunset.
Great spot for a rowing Regatta
Looking forward to checking this park out in the spring. Excellent views of the river. Also looks like there is going to be some type of indoor rowing gym where classes are available. Access to water front is ready to check out, buildings are getting their finishing touches......
Nice place to walk with my dogs.
Nice little park, but too much industrial work around it
Way better than park 570
Have taken yoga and abs and core at park 571 and the staff is great and the environment is comfortable and freindly
Loved what they did with the river area, boat house, river walk etc.........GOOD JOB CHICAGO
Nice place to fish and to have fun
A relating enviorment where you can go for a walk with a furry loved one or someone else. I liked admiring the architecture of the boat house and the workout house. There is also a small workout area on the outside and alot of space to run around. Its right near the water and there isnt much safety towards the edge wo beware.
State of the art (built in 2017) rowing boat house for crew clubs on the chicago river.
Brand new with some free parking. Great low boat traffic launch site
Cute little park to hang out at to watch the the birds and boats with the kids.
Nice place fishing and BBc very calm
May 28, 2013.This park is completely inaccessible to the general public. Even more disappointing: the park across the canal is not accessible from here either.
Pretty nice river front park.
Very peaceful and clean and good for fishing also good activities
Decent fishing
Good place to fish and release and walk
How come this park is not accessible to area residents? I live in area and would like to be able to launch my canoe from here just like the St. Ignatius students are allowed to
New boathouse and park renovations are going to be great.
This tiny little park in industrial area is a good find.
Great new boathouse on the south branch.
Nice but lots of goose poop
Great
Good views
Love this place

Great Boathouse
Overgrown but nice
Beautiful river views
