Very nice, beautifully landscaped area. Dog park always being enjoyed. Usually quiet. Areas for gathering, or tossing a football or a Frisbee.
Best residential area in downtown Chicago! Its quiet and peaceful with the feeling of suburbs. Amazing views of surrounding skyscrapers and gardens really makes it spectacular place for picnics and walks.
I visited Lake Shore East Park recently and unfortunately I have to say that this area has gone downhill over the years. I used to think Lake Shore East Park was a lovely place to take a 3-mile walk around the lake, but now its full of homeless camps, trash, and dirty sidewalks with lots of goose poop.
I learned about Lake Shore East Park through a friend of mine. Upon visiting it for myself, I was in awe at this little hidden gem! Such a lovely and welcoming place for every soul; the young, the old, the romantic, the nature lover, picture-takers (me!), and even for our furry little friends. This park is surround by marvelously colored flowers, and at a time nearing, such as springtime, there is no better time to begin ones visit. This beautiful park has multiple little water fountains sitting around that can lull anyone to sleep. It has a wide space for children to run free, and still within sights of mommy and daddy. It has a little park for them to play as well. For those of you who have a child in your furry little friends, there is a small park in the midst of Lake Shore Park that is specifically for dogs and its very well kept. The people that the furry ones take there :-) are as friendly ad they are and the dogs all seem to be well trained to socialize with their counterparts. One can take a romantic walk there as well. There plenty of shaded and unshaded spots for individuals and small groups to chill. If you are into getting fully relaxed it is nice spot to spread and blanket and take a wondrous nap at Lake Shore East Park. And reading a simple book makes for home for my book lovers. It is only 10 minutes walk from Maggie Daley Park if you are interested in getting the children to a less crowded place than Maggie Daley Park. Even if it is for a break from the noise of kids play, the kids can continue their play here until all is ready to return to Maggie Daley.Because it is close to Marianos and a few more restaurants, Lake Shore Park is the perfect place for lunching :-) if there is such a word for it. He he. Please visit whether you are a tourist or Chicago resident. You will not be disappointed!!!
Very nice scenery and e everyone was enjoying the day.
Lovely place during certain time of the day. But youll get the hint when its time to go!
Lovely park with plenty of places to sit.
Beautiful place so relaxing so wonderful
I love this place. I want to live here and my dog agrees. It is the best looking area in downtown Chicago. There are a couple restaurants around, Marianos grocery store (which also serves food, with a view of the park), a big CVS right there, av international school, and the best localized walk ups(if you have a couple millions to spare). Theres a dog park and a kids park. And in between areas of grass, water fountains, and beautiful, well taken care gardens. Perfect place to bring the kids, walk the dogs, have a meal outside or just read a book with the sound of the water running on the fountains.
Its one of those hidden gems in the city. One of the most beautiful parks in the city of Chicago. It really is a village, like a valley five storys below Randolph St.Marionos Market, few casual restaurants, one upscale steakhouse. If you are on foot or a bike there is an elevator located at the Northwest corner. Youll really appreciate that elevator when you visit.
Nice place to escape to. It can be a bit hard to find, but that perhaps is the beauty as the park is surrounded by high risers that seem to shield you a bit from the more crowded areas nearby. Ive been walking during my lunch breaks and made it a quest to find this place. There are fountains, an open area, a dog park area, playground, a path lined with trees (great shade) and some shops nearby.
Clean and dog friendly.
Wow... This place is beautiful! Im so envious of that park, it so lush and simply eye pleasing. The dog park is great too, if you are in the area and want to simply unwind and people watch its great.
Great hidden gem. Playground, dog park and lots of open spaces and greenery. In the summer the playground has a splash pad and theres a musician in resident playing in the evening once a week.
Beautiful park in the middle of Chicagos metropolis. Plenty of room for dogs to roam.
Amazing views of the skyscrapers, very quiet considering is in the middle of downtown. Perfect place for going with little kids.
The most delightful park you’ll ever see. We lived in the Aqua building in the northwest corner of this park and I was so impressed with how well it was maintained. It is so beautiful every season of the year!!! It’s a perfect, tranquil spot in the heart of the city.
Love this park that can bring dog to the dog park, and everyone there are friendly, but there is no small dog area so be careful about that if you have a little puppy
I love this park. I used to live in one of the buildings circling it, and whenever Im back downtown I try to get back there. It is a little Oasis in the downtown.
Beautiful park, it is crowded but thats to be expected
Fun and very active gated dog park on north end, south end has childrens playground, very small park with surprising seasonal landscaping
One of my favorite places during my lunch hour, a nice resting place after a walk on the Chicago Riverwalk, or just to unwind for a bit. This park is not so conspicuous to the general public yet its so close to the Millennium/Maggie Daley Parks!
Great park to go to if you have kids or dogs
Beautiful, serene park to visit. I used to go there during my lunch breaks.
This is a great park. Theres a play area for kids, complete with swings and a small water park. Theres a dog park, completely shaded with double fencing and a small water feature. In the summer, theres music and movies on a few days. Definitely worth a visit. Very family friendly.
What a beautiful oasis of green in downtown Chicago! Very peaceful, lush, and relaxing. We will be back soon!
Fantastic place! The kids loved it!
Beautiful place to walk around.
Stayed at the Radisson Blu Aqua. Are you kidding me? This park is crazy nice. My dog paused and looked at me to make sure it was okay to relive himself on the lawn here.
Beautiful and clean. Chicago does one thing right and thats having nice parks.
Quiet place park for kids and a dog park separate. Plenty of food places. On stop shopping. You can get your hair done, your nails done, go to lunch and pick up dinner all in 1 place. Plenty of housing if youre looking plus plenty of parking.
Very Nice my son Love it
Dog Pee Park is great!
Beautiful little slice in the heart of the city. It is close to a bunch of food places and the museums.
Live in the neighborhood and love this little park. It is a green oasis.
Perfect setting.
Nice park, renewed play area and summer cinema is cool
Nice, beautiful little park. Clean, well maintained. Fall colors, gorgeous.
Its a nice park. There is a dog park and a play area for children under 12. Close to several good restaurants.
Its a great place
A small but gorgeous park hidden between buildings. A city within the city. Most of the people walking or driving through Michigan Ave or Millennium Park has no idea it exist. Lots of grassy spots, zen like fountains, and open space. Plenty of benches, shade, and lovely design elements. To top it off, the view is simply amazing. Being surrounded by countless of beautiful skyscrapers.
Great area!! Love the location, everyone seems to like it here!!!
Beautiful!!
Great Park
Spacious, but still incomparable to parks around Europe in terms of beauty and scope.
Place was quiet, server was attentive. I brought 5 mad kids in with me and he didnt even blink. Hes awesome.
Stumbled across this park walking home from Maggie Daley park. This park is gorgeous and its fairly quaint because of its location. While youre in the park, it feels like you arent in an urban park. Its a breath of fresh air in a busy part of town.
Cute little park! Very well maintained and pretty peaceful. Lots of dogs.
I consider this place my sanctuary. The ambiance is absolutely wonderful. Offering a wide array of beautiful flowers, that compliment the evergreens, and a variety other species. Capped off with lighted running water fountains aluminating the night throughout the park.
Lakeshore East is like a suburb tucked away in the middle of downtown Chicago. Be sure to check out the Lakeshore East doggo park!
Its a beautiful place. Calm and quiet. It seamed to me that people tend to visit it more often on the weekends. Its possible to rent a bike there using your credit card. I recomend the visit.
Views, location and amenities
This lady was urinating in the park once
This is a great little park if you have kids or dogs. Lots of restaurants and parking to be found (paid parking) The nice part about this park is you can go to marionos and make a very easy picnic. Simply run in pick up some food and find a spot to eat and realx.
Beautiful park surrounded by skyscrapers and walking distance to the lakefront, millennium park, the river, and shopping
Beautiful place to relax, looking at the lake and breathing fresh, clean and breezy air. Amazing.
Wont be back but it was great
We look out onto this park and I dread when my son asks to go here. The amount of trash I pick up from people who come after the park is closed is so ridiculous I think I should be paid. Beer cans and boxes with bottles, cigarettes, used condoms, offensive graffiti... And no one bothers to come in the morning to clean it up. The only time Ive seen the splash pad on has been when they flushed out the water the first day. Ive even kicked out homeless people. There need a to be more security around at night or at least get better people to clean! And the people who come to this park are completely rude.
This park is the nucleus of the LakeShore East neighborhood. Although it is a city park, its unlike any city park youve ever seen! I dont think you could fit another rose bush in the gardens! The landscaping here is second to none, funded by the condominiums surrounding the park. Not only to the local residents pay for it, but they also lend a whole lot of love and effort during the annual planting in the spring! With gardens, lawn, water features, a childrens play area and a separate dog play area, this park seems to have it all!
A beautiful park with fountains and colorful gardens. True oasis in downtown Chicago!
Nice park and relaxing area
This is one of the most gorgeous parks in all of Chicago. It is very serene, despite being a block or two away from Millennium Park. It has a dog park, splash playground, fountains, and as many bushes, flowers, and trees you can fit while maintaining magnificent open spaces.
One the best parks south of the river. Much less crowded and good place away from tourists.
Great park for families. Quieter than millennium park.
I simply love this park!
Came here to eat at Mezcalina and discovered this pretty little park surrounded by towering high rises. We could imagine living in this lovely area and walking our dog here every day.
The park is clean, well-maintained and a wonderful place for dog owners to safely exercise their pets and meet neighbors. The plantings are beautiful and migrant birds fill the trees and shrubs.
Only place to read a book in Chicago where you dont feel like youre going to be robbed, shot or harrased.
Clean great views
Dog park, kids playground, big open areasTo play, benches in the shade, and some areas blocked off to preserve their beauty
Nice park and the huge buildings surrounding it make it feel like youre in the future. Good selection of shops as well.
In the heart of downtown. Family friendly. Calm
Beautiful area
A lively park surrounded by skyscrapers right in the middle of downtown Chicago yet feels far from its hustle and bustle
A cool place to walk around to take a break from the city.
What a beautiful & hidden park in the middle of the buildings !Bring some foods from the village market, Marianos !
Exquisite park.
Nice park tucked into a bunch of skyscrapers. Nice place for a picnic.
Great park downtown Chicago. Playground for kids and plenty of open space.
Best kept secret in the Loop / New East Side. Lets respect it, and keep it beautiful.
Dog friendly
Cozy park where you can relax and watch your kids play.
