I absolutely love this place, particularly early in the morning. There are mule deer, squirrels, and birds in the wetlands area. The grounds spread out and house a multitude of interesting trees and other plants. The Japanese gardens and larger pond are very peaceful. The Christmas decorations against the snow, and just the dawn in Winter, are awesome. The place is kind of magical.
Always a wonderful place to walk the dog and to enjoy the outdoors around here. Its nice and shady so its not too hot in the morning right now. Just a beautiful hidden gem! So much to see there and the grounds are immaculate!
Pretty place, even though most of the leaves have already changed. I bet it is beautiful in the Spring. Always a good place to walk, ride, sit, etc etc....
We, April Anderson and I, love taking our dogs there for a good run. They love chasing the squirrels.
This park is beautiful has fun activities all year around .Highly recommended for pictures and just to enjoy the park.
So beautiful and serene! Visit the bird blind and spy on cute little birdies!
Beautiful gem near the river in Yakima. Easy access from the riverfront trail, as well as from the off leash dog park. Great for weddings, photography, that budding botanist, and AR mobile games. Also makes for a lovely walk in the park whenever you need inspiration or just relaxation. Regardless of the season, theres always beauty to be seen here. Keep an eye out for their various seasonal events, especially their winter solstice event.
Its a good place to relax or to find out trees and stuff, they have little fish things too.
Beautiful park. Great for pictures.
Very nice and relaxing area
Its the most beautiful place in Yakima this time of year. Come before the leaves finish falling. Its worth an afternoon of nature and peace.
So relaxing...I love it here!
Good to have a mice walk with the family!
Beautiful grounds near the highway.
Very pretty scenery and such a calm aura in the air. But in all fairness I got dragged there to take picture after graduation
One of the hidden gems in Yakima. This is an amazing place to take pictures.
Beautiful time of year to view all the Fall colors!
Beautiful place.
I recently visited Yakima and had some time to kill while my husband was working so I walked around the arboretum. I enjoyed the geese and squirrels. I saw a squirrel napping on a tree branch!
Its warm out and I like the flora and the fauna!
This is a great place to take pictures, to walk with your family, to enjoy the light show and much more! We like going to walk dogs, and then play in the park. My kids love to chase the geese.
Sun shinning, beautiful for photos
Very beautiful green oasis, specially roses garden.
Family picture spot for sure! Bring your iPhone watch to set up the picture...dont forget the snacks. Also youre guaranteed to find a quiceañera princess.
We really enjoyed the mushroom show & a walk in the beautiful fall colors.
The Arboretum is quite a beautiful place to visit in the Yakima area. You can access the Yakima River and the Yakima Greenway Path via the Arboretum grounds. Its especially cool to visit throughout the year and watch the seasons change. Ever wondered how certain trees grow or look throughout the year? This is a great place to see that . Be prepared to spot a few squirrels during your visit :) The yearly Mushroom Show is hosted at the Arboretum and its definitely worth seeing. We love stopping in to visit their unique gift shop!#yakimaarboretum #arboretum #yakima #trees #letsguidePlease click the >>
Not sure if this loves up to the hype..
Nice tranquility time!
I had a fun night walking around the Arboretum for their Luminaria. It was so beautiful and relaxing. I definitely want to attend it again this year.
I really enjoyed all the different plants and all the different walkways
Great. Very nice walking paths. Very qell maintained through the shutdown.
Late fall views are worth a stop.
Sooooo beautiful!!!! You can take amazing pictures here. You can go for a beautiful relaxing walk. Perfect scene for a picnic, if you like just simply being outside the Arboretum is very pretty.
Such a cute place to go for a walk!! You can go take some awesome pictures too. It’s very relaxing. I always like going in the morning for a little walk. I recommend stopping by during the summer, the roses are beautiful! The cute statues are awesome if you walk a little further down. (:
Beautiful place for graduation pictures
Love it All year round.
Very peaceful and beautiful. Well maintained. The map isnt very clear but you can usually figure out where you are. Most of the trees are labeled with their names.
Great place to take the dogs out open field and also to take kids to walk around and see the squirrels running around and there is alot of squirrels so kids love it there !
One our favorite places to go get fresh air escape technology and enjoy nature as a family. Absolutely breathtaking
We go here as a family every few months. It is beautiful, well maintained and quiet. Its great for all kinds of events and celebrations.
Really love our local arboretum. With 46 acres of lawn and hundreds of trees its a beautiful oasis in the desert. Each season brings special features. In late April early May the crab apples, dogwoods and other flowering trees put on quite a show. Lots of year - round events and classes for all ages too. Dont miss their plant sales in May and Luminary walk in December.
Nice, and beautiful place
Beautiful park and a great place to play Pokemon Go. Love the variety of trees and shade. My favorite portion is the Japanese garden in the middle of the park. It has a cute water feature and lots of cute little frogs.
I have been going to the Arboretum and walking for about 10 years. The trees and grounds are always kept up great! It was sad to see that the homeless issue is negatively impacting the Arboretum though. This last Sunday there was a homeless person that was trying to get into the power box of the fountain in the Rosegarden. And another person who had their backpack spread open and two dogs barking underneath the pavilion in the Japanese garden. Also there was underwear and other clothes visible in the pagoda structure. I do not hold the Arboretum responsible for this problem. It is just disappointing that the city and county allow such a beautiful place to be abused by a group of people. I imagine the arboretum is frustrated with the extra garbage and vandalism. I no longer use the Greenway from 16th Ave. to Union gap because of the homeless camps and security concerns I sure hope the arboretum does not experience those concerns ever.
Great fun and beautifully maintained.
Beautiful views!
Beautiful place to go for a photo shoot it just to relax. Nice visitor center. Would have liked more signs telling me about the trees.
Just a lovely place to visit. Highly recommend
It was fabulousJust what I needed on this gorgeous fall day. I recommend it to all that appreciate nature & a few little creatures

Went here for a two day managment meeting, never had been their before and this place was so breathtaking especially during the fall time with all the leaves changing . This definitely is a amazing venue !
Good place to take dogs
Clean, beautiful, large spaces of grass for kids to run, great for picnics and getting photos taken! Many different flowers depending on the season. Also has rooms to rent for parties/events.
Many spots to take pictures
Only beautiful
Great place to feel immersed in nature in Yakima. Lots of open space and greenery. Also great to practice botany skills!
Absolutely beautiful. Even the noise from freeway traffic cant take away the tranquility of experiencing nature in its diffeent stages of life throughout the year. Just avoid after dark, when the teenagers dress up as blood cultists and chase unfortunate insomniacs.
The dogs and I love it here. Best part of Yakima.
Such a beautiful place. All of the beautiful trees and flowers were so enjoyable! Loved the visit!
Lots of labeled trees, pretty interesting, the pond fountain is cool lots of frogs. Good spot to relax for a bit.
Very nice, big park. There is a dog park within park near Humane Society which is also within park. Leashed, well-behaved dogs okay for walking in general park area. Looks like they have weddings and other outdoor events there. Suggest going late April through September. Not all flowers were in bloom yet and was windy in early April.
I enjoyed my time there with my children. We attended the night of there light luminaries. Pretty to see fairly cold but it helped having been served hot cocoa and coffee.
Great club house. The grounds have beautiful scenery. Walking around is must.
Even when its fall season all the hard work. That the landscapers work on.no matter how they do it.every year the Arboretum always looks glamours, beautiful trees.that get pruined gourgous colorful trees Ive have ever seen in my life time.great joyful huge park to bring familys, great awesome friends, plus our fur babies our chiuauas Lil baby Lillys & Cocoa Bean.
Beautiful area, great for a peaceful walk, beautiful photos or a get together!
Spring summer and fall offer beautiful gardens and well kept trees paths and gardens. Winter offers the annual luminaria walk. The lighted path and Japanese and rose gardens were beautifully whimsical.
Its a diamond in the rough! Almost hesitant to post because Id like to see this place stay precious and uncontaminated.
Beautiful gardens. Very well kept and maintained. Grounds crew is very professional.
Always a nice place to walk and take in various trees and flowers. Definitely a great venue for a wedding or other gathering needs.
Great place to come, regardless of the time of year!
Great spot in Yakima. Nice little museum. There are also beekeeping demonstrations and classes there on occasion.
I lived this place when i was a teen in the 90s and its just gotten better!!
Pleasant, low key mid-week afternoon. Free admission.
A very nice environment, my kids had alot of fun. . .
So beautiful, great for an elegant wedding.
Beautiful place and we enjoyed just wandering through!
Beautiful place. Only thing that could be improved is parking. In the summer it gets super crowded.
Really nice travel stop for a break from driving. Great place for children to run and play in the wide open and Very well maintained grounds. They have an indoor area with learning area for kids. There is a gift store called The Treehouse.
Great park, love all the different kinds of trees here.
Beautiful place my favorite place to smoke and relax and just space out on all the beautiful plants and trees and see all the wild rabbits and squirls and frogs and birds.
Well kept grounds with a variety of well marked vegetation and animals.
My kids did their state testing there ( for online school) really nice place.
Attended a Pruning 101 class with Arborist, Sean Tait. Very informative!
Beautiful, excellent paths. Large and spacious.
Very nice place to take a break
Another favorite and good local birding area. Bird blind, Japanese garden, around the pond for fish, turtles, tracks, and the memorial rose garden are my favorite areas. A few favorite trees there too. They have programs and events, check their website.
Great landscaping and community building. The luminary before Christmas is something the witness.
Very pretty trees, walking trail is okay but could be better
Great place for fall foliage and bird watching! If you have a pup, the fenced in dog park is a great place to unwind
We had a wonderful time at Yakima Arboretum today. There were many activities and exhibitions, with helpful, knowledgeable people attending each one. Well be back next year!
