Really fun playground. The dinosaur theme is cool and there are a lot of slides. Its lacking some safety and accessibility features Im used to in newer parks but overall the playground was great. It looked like there was some equipment for older kids/adults but we had to leave before could see. Avoid the bathrooms if you can.

This was a really cool place to bring the children! When they saw there were dinosaurs on the play structure they just started screaming with joy! Immediately they ran off to play on it. The area was very quaint and peaceful. There are trees around you providing just the right amount of shade but also letting in the sun enough to not make it creepy. My children played for a long time and didnt want to leave. If we are in the area again, we will need to bring a picnic to eat at one of the pavilions or picnic tables in the park. It was clean and well taken care of. Overall just a great experience.P.S.-Theres also great photo opportunities that you can take with the dinosaurs!

A clean and maintained park with an awesome playground featuring dinosaurs. Walking trails throughout the park. Also a court, baseball field, exercise playground, and a couple of shelters. We will walk or ride bikes on the trail parallel to the creek. There is a entrance to the creek about a quarter mile down the path to the right. We have found arrowheads and marbles here.

When you arrive you drive down this skinny gravel road by the power lines. Just keep goes and youll get there. You should see the baseball park, the play ground is in that direction. My kids really like this park. The dinosaurs add a little extra excitement. Theres a lot of climbing options and so if your kids love the climbing its a good option. Although you should be worn it can be quite scary for the younger ones who arent as experienced.I like how the swings are far enough away from the playground where you dont have to worry too much about the kids getting kicked. Also theres plenty of swings. Theres a great place to park on the street if you dont want to walk too far. if its not crowded you can get close. Otherwise you park in the lot which is about a 3 minute walk with little ones.

Washington Park is wonderful. It covers several miles & has @ least one ballpark, several trails & 2 fenced n dog parks available near the parking lot off of S Broad St! The only thing I would change is some street lights in & around the parking lot if they cant/wont put them all over the park. Yes, it is closed from sunset to sunrise but if u stay until sunset it is a little difficult to find your way back to your vehicle in the growing darkness. Otherwise, the park is beautiful, wonderful & lovely. I would definitely check it out if you have a dog, enjoy playing ballgames, have children that like playgrounds or even if you just enjoy the outdoors!

I LOVE this park! Its always super clean and its the ONLY dog park that Ive been to where all the dogs and owners are responsible and understanding of normal dog behavior. I cant say anything bad about this park! Its also never super busy, and its huge!! So theres always a free area for you and your family/friends!

I was on my way to the softball field and there were about 30 young men playing basketball. Im 47 and these young men were probably 15-25 years old. I stopped to watch and while I was standing there one of the young men asked me if I wanted to play next. This made my day with all the negative news that is out there, that these young men would ask this shaved headed white guy to play ball with them. This just proves my point that there is more good out there than evil. Be proud winston salem

Pros: Very unique park! Kids loved it. Dinosaurs incorporated creativity.Cons: Needs more shade in the hot climate and a hand rail for the T-Rex, though. Kids burned themselves a bit and it was hard to help the Littles over the dinosaur on that part. Too high for them to do it on their own and not safe.

We visited early on a cold weekday morning, so we had the entire park to ourselves. Lots of room to run, and as I walked around it appeared that most folks clean up after their pups (extra important in the large dog area). There appeared to be plenty of room for people to sit and watch their dogs and plenty of access to water when temps arent so low.We will definitely be back!

As with all dog parks some people monitor their dogs behavior more than others. Washington Park has a small dog section as well as a large dog section, a place to spray your dogs off with a hose. if you walk down the Salem Greenway theres a section of this rive that has trails so you can access it easily and your dogs can swim off leash. However there is a light colored German Shepherd named Suki that is aggressive and attacked our dog giving her a large puncture wound that require a vet visit.

I’ve been going to this place for a while and have always love it but my most recent visit it seems to have gone down hill a bit. Also there was no poop bags other than that pretty great park

The dog park has seen some updates since some of the other reviewers have been. They now do have two separate areas for big dogs and small dogs (under 25 pounds). I went on a weekday in November and the place was pretty dead. There were a few people riding their bikes and running on the trail but only one other person made their way over to the small dog area.

We go for the dog park, and have specifically used the large dog area. Its one of the nicer dog parks Ive been to, with several picnic tables somewhat centrally located and shaded by multiple trees, large grassy areas, a large sandy area, and running water with a fountain in the picnic table area. There is generally a stainless steel bowl left near the water, or you can bring your own. There are poop bags provided just outside the enclosed areas, and owners seem to do a decent job picking up the poop (I still watch where I walk and its not perfect, but its better than most Ive seen). Weve gone on different days of the week and have encountered predominantly conscientious dog owners that watch their dog(s) and intervene as needed.Though we havent been in the small dog area, it looks like it has plenty of room and also has a shaded area with picnic tables. Weve never seen many visitors during our visits.

Literally the worst dog owners go here. Some are great but some are verbally abusive to their dogs and at a higher rate than the Tanglewood Park. Screaming and swearing at their dogs... is disheartening. I recommend Tanglewood over this park despite the distance from downtown Winston. Also as a female, going alone I don’t always feel safe because of the wooded areas and seclusion from the main park.

The park is a lot nicer than a lot of the older reviews make it out to be--of course, with any dog park timing and the crowd is everything, but even in late December after weve had a few freezes the water is on and theres a lot of room for a dog to run. The fence could be in better repair, but overall this is a nice place for pups to play.
