Clean (both times weve been on Saturday), visible police patrolling the parking lot, bathrooms, and grassy area for our picnic. Great space to get outside. Saw others riding bikes, flying kites, and on the quarry overlooks. Even with drizzling rain and it was still populated. *Mix of people wearing masks if that is helpful info and ability to social distance.
Great view. Not much of a walk from parking to bridge. Bathrooms are closed due to covid.
We go here often. Its a great place for a picnic, run, walk, cycling, star gazing, playing sports etc. There is a good walking party thats goes around the park. The quarry is itself very picturesque. Quite safe in todays time as one can maintain social distancing and enjoy the evening. Highly recommended
Kids love climbing on the rocks around park. Interesting to read about how the different stone was formed. Large field for the kids to run and play in. See many people use the field for picnics if they dont want to use tables around.
This is a nice park with an overlook projecting over the quarry, which is quite pretty. The trails are paved. There is no loop trail but you can make a loop of about 4.5 miles if you dont mind walking through a neighborhood to get from one trail to another. Bathrooms on site. Stroller friendly.
Amazing time here! Beautiful trees, picked and ate berries & saw a groundhog! Such a nice trail walk.
Just an all around great, free, outdoor place to visit. Beautiful views. Picnic tables. Educational displays along a concrete pathway. Plenty of handicap parking and accessable pathways. Hiking trails. Zogster bike share. Dogs allowed on 6ft leash. Highly recommend visiting Quarry Park year round!
Never knew this existed and enjoyed it very much with my son. Educational and nice walking trail.
Enjoyed an afternoon here meeting family members of all ages.
Very nice and clean. Wonderful view from the bridge. We had a picnic and it was very pleasant and peaceful.
Beautiful place! Alot of space and the scenery is outrageous! Really good for picnics and gatherings and kids!
Wow! We had no idea about this gorgeous place until someone around the area recommended it to us. Beautiful spot away from all the crowd, we loved it. It was really hot today though and the its best to take some covering with you and water because their fountains don’t work.Upon asking a local person he said he use to swim in it as a kid and then they prohibited swimming. He also went on and told the story about it. I was flabbergasted when he said its like 2 miles deep . Im not sure if thats true but if it is thats amazing. Will be going again soon !!!
Theres something calming and slightly eerie about Quarry Park. The best view is from up-top. The water is beautiful and you can see the skyline of downtown Winston-Salem. Itd be nice if there was paddle boating but I have a feeling the quarry would loose its charm. Theres a trail that takes you to the water but its currently blocked off by a locked black fence. Hopefully some events take place here soon. There is plenty of space, so the park has a lot of potential.(I had no issues accessing the park with GPS)
Amazing place to take the family. The view was amazing although the weather was hot and humid. Kids loved looking down from the ledge.
Great environment! Many paths to explore and see nature.
Here for a date or for a bike ride you will definitely be hooked into coming back to watch the amazing scenery.
Could be better, some nice walking trails but not much for kids.
Amazing new ️ park in Winston-Salem. It is still being developed but for now it has nice picnic areas, gravel parking lot, tons of concrete and paved greenways and trails to go along with the scenic overlook and steel-beam bridge/walkway that takes you out to overlook the quarry. The water is beautiful and the heights are exhilarating to take in a view of downtown and the surrounding greenery. There are also cool bench features and rocks from the quarry as landscape features. They do have a handicap accessible restroom and ramps as well.
We really enjoyed this park today - barely anyone was here. They have a few bikes for rent, benches to relax on, a lovely overlook and even found some blackberries to pick! I love how modern it is and that they have bins that are separated into trash vs recycling. What a #suatainable and #accessible park, with plenty of handicap parking spots. The restrooms have Gabion walls, which I thought added a unique touch to the design. The overlook is gorgeous, cant wait to see the continued development of this area!
Good place to go if you’re into Biking. Offers a good view.
Amazing park. There are greenways to walk there or a parking lot when you get there. There doesn’t seem to be much hiking around the quarry, just the park itself and the trails leading from downtown winston and Waughtown. Theres lots of wildlife on then trials and it wasnt too busy when i went on a weekday afternoon. Theres a observation deck thats gets you high up and gives the best views, and there are also observations points around the quarry with excellent views as well. There are also bathrooms and water fountains as well as a functioning bike share.
This place is so serene!!! The trail is awesome if looking for a good workout
It has a beautiful view. It was very clean. Very peaceful and serene atmosphere to walk and exercise.
Overall a nice park to walk around. it has a nice overlook of the quarry lake and many miles of trails that go around the lake. There is also a trail that is next to a creek as well. Overall had a nice experience!
Lots of benches on the close paths but the trails leading around the quarry have zero and they are not flat. Not a problem for reasonably healthy people, but if you require frequent rests, stay where the benches are.
This place is amazing! We recently discovered it based on numerous posts from our friends and were not disappointed. A fun place to spend an hour or so with your kids, partner or a group of friends.
Beautiful park. Gr8 trailsWould have been nice to have a few garbage containers once on the trails
Great park with excellent shaded trails.
Great place to meet friends for a picnic with plenty of room to social distance. Conveniently located near WSSU. Dogs are welcome.
Good trails and scenery of WS skyline
Great place to go for a visit, the old quarry is beautiful. They have a nice overlook that you can walk out on for a great view of the quarry. They have alot of rocks setup along the path with placards about the rocks. Theres alot of open land and a walking trail. It looks like they have a phase 2 thats coming adding even more things to do. We stayed around a hour but it was a nice day trip to see the quarry.
The view is awesome. I highly recommend going at sunset as it overlooks the quarry and city of Winston. I nice place for a short walk. Not as big of a place as you would think, but still plenty of areas to relax and take pictures or play with your pup. Not an all day thing, easy quick ride - It’s only 5 minutes away from downtown. Legitimately only like 3 roads away from Bailey Park. The ease of travel for this view is well worth it. Definitely recommend.
Very cool look out and neat space to hang out
This park is a great place to walk. It has great trails and lots of clean mowed grass for playing with your dogs. Please clean up after them if you do bring them in order to keep the park nice. The view of the water filled quarry is amazing. The water is beautiful blue green color.
I had a really amazing day here with my family just enjoying the sunshine & beautiful scenery. Im absolutely sure that well be back sooner than later!
Great views of Winston skyline. Walking track
Beautiful view of the city skyline. Sunset are absolutely breathtaking. Trail access via the Waughtown Street connector or salem Creek greenway.
Nice park good idea should have been done years ago though, this park connects into Salem Lake Trail just a short walk maybe 1 mile and then 75 yards down a side street in a shady neighborhood
Nice scenic outlook of the town. Clean and safe
Great place to visit especially if you like rocks and seater filled qiarry
Was transformed into a beautiful place. Wide pathways. Simple but perfectly landscaped. Ample parking. I do wish they would add a few more trash cans around making it a little more convenient for the lazy population who dont want to walk the few feet out of their way.
Love this place I go there all the time its very relaxing to walk around or simply enjoy the nice view also its nice and clean definitely one of my favorite Park
Amazing place. Perfect is you have a bike. There are restrooms and fountains.
Beautiful scenery here of the quarry on an overlook platform. Short, nice blacktop bike trail. Super hill on Peachtree side, nice and smooth on Marble St. side. Clean, quiet, with sitting areas.
Great little park with access to Greenway. Good sidewalk paths.
Really a nice park and a beautiful site. A nice place to walk and dog friendly.
Great for familys!! I felt safe with my kids running around !
You can see three mountains and downtown Winston Salem from the lookout.
Cant compete with nature man.. Cant compete. After the lock down especially, its lushisly green. Beautiful, the entire trail as well as the Quarry itself.
Great place to walk casually or walk to get a workout, then finish with a picture of the quarry with the Winston skyline in the background
Relatively new park. Need a few kid centric play areas and public exercise equipment if possible. Has a great view of the historic downtown buildings. The trails are pretty good relative to the size of the park. Prefer a few trees for relief from the summer heat.
The newest park in the Winston-Salem area. Beautiful view looking down into the Quarry. You can see a part of the Winston-Salem Skyline in the background. Not too many sites to see, but when the landscaping fully fills in it will be very pretty. Its a peaceful place to come sit or take a walk.
Very nice and clean park. Perfect for a family day or just to walk around in the sun. Also great pokemon stop!
Great park with a magnificent view of downtown Winston-Salem.
Beautiful unexpected stop!!
Beautiful little place to spend time with your family.
Love the cities newest park. It is a jewel in the crown of the citys park greenway system. The greenway system that now connects it the Salem Creek Trail is a real bonus and a nice expansion of a already great paved trail.
This is a great place for a beautiful view, a perfect picture taking background, or just a breath taking quick getaway! There are clean bathrooms and ample parking. Also, if you want a great place forPicnics or photo shoots then this is your spot.
Beautiful and clean plenty of space to stay away from others
It has a very beautiful scenery. Has lots to offer.
It was fun I really like the bridge love it so pretty
I love this place! So serene and beautiful. Surrounded by nice walking trails.
Great park with a nice open field and view of the quarry with the city skyline in the background. Lots of parking available when I was here, but there appears to only be one lot available.
The Park is not finished but the views are great. It has an upper and lower level. Nice place for a good walk ot hike along the trails. I think the boulders on the walkway may be from the pit itself. We plan to visit again in the fall for further progress.
Great views
Really nice place to watch the sunset, but theres not much else to do there.
Nice place to go and enjoy the great outdoors with with family and friends
Beautiful park with blue green water surrounded by the old rock quarry. Feels like a piece of the northwest. Small park but very pretty, great view of the Winston-Salem skyline as well.
Such a nice scenery for a walk!
Nice place to walk your little furry baby nice trails
Bike trails are a little short but very well maintained.
It was a great day to take a walk around the park it was great to see all the different rocks from the surrounding Quarries
Was cold so didnt stay long. But looked wonderful
Beautiful scenery and wonderful place to walk for exercise
Small, but really nice. Good place to relax.
Wonderful park to walk or sit. This park offers views of the Winston-salem skyline from the large sky walk bridge. The water is calm and only disturbed by the occasional goose or duck. Large grassy areas are perfect for throwing frisbees or footballs and the bathroom facilities are kept relatively clean.
Great park to walk, run and bike ride.
This park is about a year old however the initial facilities are rather impressive. There isn’t much for kids except to take in the view but at this point the park is definitely geared toward walking and photography. There are many opportunities for photography around this park. This is a nice addition to the Winston-Salem park system.
Nice park with a nice bit of walking trails, good place to walk dogs. The view of the quarry is beautiful, and I like the metal designs scattered about. I dont go here more because the main area doesnt have any trees for shade!! I think they should definitely add trees along the walkway up to the quarry. The sun blazes over that part of the park, so we have to be picky over when we go, otherwise wed go more!
Its a hidden gem especially when its peaceful and quiet. My fave time to visit is during sunset! Overviewing downtown skyline. It can be crowded on weekends.CONS: I saw some high school kids who was flying drone but was also smoking weed while on the bridge. I could smell it from afar.
Old rock quarry transformed into a park with a beautiful viewing deck. If you want to cycle the trail there are bikes there u can unlock with your smartphone. Very peaceful
Beautiful park!! Clean and the sights are amazing!!
Really nice City Park. Paved walking trails and nice flat area to play Frisbee, let the dogs road and spread out a blanket and have a picnic.
Visiting home from Hawaii and came to this beautiful sight. I literally grew up 5 mins from this amazing spot. Gotta go check it out.
Great park for a very short visit. There are no restrooms that are acessible.
Nice park but not enough shade trees. I dont understand clearing all the trees and leaving no place to sit under the shade of a tree.
Nice trails. Picknic tables in case you get hungry :)
Great park but needs mask guidance.
Beautiful scenery, peaceful atmosphere, gorgeous place
Beautiful with walking trails. No bathrooms on site though and no playgrounds for kids
Beautiful very secluded though so be careful
Beautiful views. Nice loop to walk around in the trees. Paved, so bring a stroller or watch the sunset over the skyscrapers.
Great place to visit with the better half, friends and family.Amazing view of downtown
What a nice clean park for biking or walking. I grew up in this area and some of my friends use to fish and swim here. I am glad to see the fence up around the quarry though. The City did an amazing job! Drove around the park and view the scenery. Quiet place to visit and at no cost for entry. The quarry water was clear you could see the reflection of the green pine trees. It is amazing, loved being there. A great addition to the city park system. Enjoyed walking along the paths, and would live to take a swim there
