My 2-year old had a total blast here! We got some free tickets from my friends job and showed up early in the morning. The kids had so much fun we stayed for four hours! They were completely wiped out by the time we left
This was our first time at Kaleideum downtown and we (my kids and I) were very happy with our visit. It is a great place for younger kids to play and learn about the world around them. It is geared towards younger kids and my kids are 15 and 9 so I think Kaleideum North has a little more to offer my 15 year old. We all still had fun.
Fun Day! I wish the entrance is cheaper for younger toddlers. We went on a Saturday around 1pm, about 10 minutes later the place was packed! The most popular area was the Krispy Kreme donut factory. It was hard to allow my 12month old walk around that area as busy older kids can easily bump on her. She definitely enjoyed watching all big kids around her. We will definitely go back!
We absolutely love this place. We have been coming here since our children were babies. There is a certain feeling of happiness, of freedom that the kids get... cant really put my finger on it but we (the whole fam) always have a wonderful time when we visit here. It is always clean and the staff is very professional and kind. They have a prop shop that is a must do... but save it for last. It is a great way to end the day!
I take my kids here a lot! The staff is friendly! The bathrooms are clean! There is always fun activities and new things to do and see! My kids love it here! Great for toddlers and younger aged children (I would say 10 and under).
My little brother had a blast! We did just about everything but story time (we just missed it!). We took a walk around downtown to get some air and we came back for a little. He really enjoyed himself. I recommend coming earlier in the day.
Awesome place to take kids when they need a break from their electronics.
We have a membership so that we can go to either location and spend all day or just a couple hours. My kids like this location the best. Even my 13/14 year olds find stuff to do while the little ones play.
Its a great place for kids of all ages!!! Only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because it is smaller compared to the Kaleideum North location! Lots of fun!
The children had a blast and so did the adults...great place to ecplore
Phenomenal place to spend the afternoon with grandchildren
Price is the only thing that keeps it from being 5*. It is a tad over priced and unlike a lot of other kids places, they charge everybody, adults included that enter full admission. That aside they do update different aspects fairly regularly and keep some of the main attractions like the bean stalk and the play net up. My three year old always has a good time and gets to explore his creative side all while getting some energy out. There’s a library, a place to grocery shop, make “Krispy Kreme” donuts, playing in space, an arts and crafts theatre, crawling in a giant net suspended from the ceiling outdoors, and a giant beanstalk to climb among lots of other stuff.
Went here for the first time for a field trip with my daughter. Lots of interactive fun for kids. Unfortunately, she had a broken arm and could not do the climbing structures so we will be going back when her arm is healed. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends with young children.
So much fun with my daughter and her class.
Great place to gather with family and friends.
A great place to let kids run around for hours! This place to me is more for younger kids & not older kids. Both can have fun but everything is made little for certain ages.
This is a great museum for children. I even had a good time trying to climb the kaleidoscope. My little nephew had a blast.
Great place for little kids. Its a lot more people there on Sundays compared to the rest of the week but my LO had a great time!
My grandsons had a wonderful time! Very hands on for the 5 year olds as well as the 2 year old!
I helped chaperone my daughters class field trip to the kaleideum and all the kids loved it. They enjoyed all of the activities and fun excercises they got to participate in.
This place is just great kids love it.
This is an amazing place to bring children of any age. My two year old son had a blast here! Theres a library area, workshop, a huge imaginitive play area, a climable multi story beanstock, and an extremely unique outdoor hanging playground. Although there is no place to buy food in the building, they do have vending machines and areas to eat brought in food. While visiting on a Friday afternoon they had music time in the library where kids got to sing along, make music, and dance. This place is one of a kind and must see especially if you have young kids!
Surprise! We joined using the grandparents pass two weeks ago and decided to take our grandkids who were visiting with us today...30 minute drive for us plus all the extras that have to be packed to find a sign out front saying they are closed today! I knew I had checked their hours previously and right there on the door were the hours for Monday 9:00-12:00. Guess you better call ahead to see if they are really open! Very disappointed 4 year old! Today’s date: March 2nd
Really wonderful place for younger kids.. my daughter loved it..
Fun. This one focuses more on fun and play through education. More science focused at other one. I like the change of pace
Great place for kids to learn and explore! My son liked The Prop Shop and climbing the Bean Stalk the most.
Kaleidum Downtown is a favorite place for us to spend family time together. There is some much for the kids to enjoy. We enjoy having a family membership because it is such a great price to be able to visit the Downtown and North locations all year long. Its such a great value and my children love it so much!
Fun for all ages! Can get crowded. Worth the membership but not the hugest museum ever. Still, we love it.
Place has gotten even better in the last 3+ years, however, that means bigger crowds and a noisier atmosphere. If you happen to have free time during the week with your kids, this is a great place to go, but I do not recommend going right after school gets out or on the weekends during holiday break. Great place to go to have a b-day or a party nonetheless.
This is such a wonderful place to take your little ones. My niece and I took my grand daughter who is 4 and her daughter (my great niece) who is 13. They loved it. We were there for 2 hours and my granddaughter would have stayed there longer. Talk to the person at the desk about getting a card to get your next visits cheaper.
So much fun! Worth the drive from Greensboro.
Ive been coming here since I was in elementary school. I have always had fun, and going back now (usually to attend a childs B-Day party), I still learn new things! Its nostalgic to see everything. It will always be SciWorks to me, though .
An awesome place for kids. My granddaughters love going here. Lots of fun!
It took us three tries to make it while they were open but it was worth it. Also your pass gets you into the other Kaleideum museum.
We are members here. It is so nice to have an indoor place to go with the kid on the weekends. Even coming regularly, he never seems to be bored of it.
Wonderful place to take your little one. Super educational the staff Is wonderful and it is very sanitary. You have to take you child/ children atleast once to experience this wonderful place.
Awesome place for kids & adults alike. All attractions can hold adults but can be a tight fit.
Grandkids live coming here. Its safe place with plenty see and do.
Love going to play and learn
Much better for smaller kids that wanna play, but not as much to do as the North location.
Memphis, age 10, liked the climbing stuff, and spent 45 minutes adjusting lights in the theatre area.
Our almost two years old son has been several times with his nanny and loves it. This was the first trip for my wife and I. It was such a great time. Dont miss the airflow tubes and sock skating rink on the second floor! His favorite is the light peg wall
We like Kaleideum Downtown. It is much smaller then the North campus but that isnt a bad thing. The donut factory and Food Lion store are super fun and my kids will spend nearly half and hour in either one. Kids older then 9 will probably be board. But my 2 through 8 year olds like it. If you will go more then once, buy the membership, much better deal!
We love it here. Its a little pricey so if you plan on going more than once or twice its 100% worth it to do the yearly pass
Excellent adventures for children! My grandsons were both excited and enthralled with every activity.
This place is amazing. The staff are really kind and informative. You can see the pride they take in helping kids use their imagination.
My brother and I bring our kids here regularly- you can definitely spend the whole day here
Such a great place for kids!
Get place for children to enjoy. Fun birthday party spot for my 5 year old grandson.
My kids loved it, especially the climbing exhibits and the room with all of the building materials. Great fun! The parents night out I took the kids to a few days later was a hit with both my children as well. The entire place is small enough to see everything in 1 - 2 hours depending on how long you linger, so it makes for good afternoon fun.
It was great fun for my 6year old and myself. He loved it!!!
Ive been to both Kaleidium locations in Winston-Salem, and both are very good, but the one downtown on Liberty St is AMAZING, especially for toddlers and up. The second floor has a storybook pay area with multiple play houses replete with books, outfits, plushy animals, and even a puppet theatre. There are tons of other activities as well, but the sheer amount of joy that the second floor play area gave my 2 year old was sufficient for me to give 5 stars. Wish I could give this place 10 stars. The Forsyth County libraries have passes that can be checked out that covers the cost of admission for 4 adults and 6 children, negating the cost of admission, but this place is absolutely with it even at full price. A must visit!
The one thing that would really improve the downtown Kaledium would be more exhibits for school age kids. As it currently stands it is definitely more geared towards preschoolers. Make sure you bring a picnic lunch with you because all they have here is snacks and drinks from the vending machines.
My toddler has fun every time we go. Theres so many different things for him to do and learning experiences for a wide range of ages.
My son absolutely loves it here. The yearly membership is worth every cent.
My grand children love this place - so many different activities available.
Grandson & g-daughter just loved making donuts for Krispy Creme and throwing snowballs!! Kept them occupied for a couple of hours. We left for lunch and found out that we could come back today after nap-time with our ticket stubs. What a fantastic children’s museum!!
Need gates to separate areas. Would love to be able to let my child enjoy the fun, while I sat down but no, I had to follow him everywhere he went so he didnt wander off and fall down the stairs
When I was younger I loved going there and even thinking about it made me happy.
What an awesome place to bring your little one. Yes there are spaces to explore, create fun and meander around. Safe space for adults and kids to run around. Lots of toys and things for little ones and big kids too.
There are a lot of things for kids to do here, but weve found that the 4 and under crowd enjoy it the most in our family. We always try to go when there are special admission opportunities (like $3 Thursdays) because it makes it much more affordable for the whole family, as well as our family friends with larger households.
Great place to take children. Lots of varied activities. Clean facilities. Day pass here also gets you into Kaleideum North.
My family loves coming to the Kaleideum. It is great for kids under 8. There are lots of things to do including a library and Hands-On activities. My son has also enjoyed the special programs such as music guests and special story times . The staff is really friendly and helpful. I would recommend getting the membership because we were able to recoup the cost in a couple of months.
This one is smaller than the one off Hanes Mill, but just as fun. Kids loved climbing the beanstalk. The krispy kreme store and food lion interactive were also a hit. Im a big kid, so I liked sliding around in my socks with them on the ice rink. All in all a fun way to spend the afternoon.
We went with our 2, 4, and 6-year-old kids. They really loved it. Everything was very clean and there was plenty of things for all the kids. We spent a few hours there and still didnt do all of the activities/exhibit rooms because the kids haf so much fun in the ones we did visit. Bathrooms were clean and they also have a large family bathroom with changing table.
Fantastic spot for children centered activities, loved it. Leilahs 6 birthday party.
Best place in Winston for weekend visits. They keep shuffling and bring in new items.
Great place for a fun family outing.
Our son loves this place. We have a family membership and he visits 2 to 3 days a week!
Had a wonderful time at Kids Morning Out!!! I would highly suggest taking your littles to this event.
Fun for the whole family! Definitely geared more toward younger children, but older kids can have fun as well! In my opinion $9 plus tax is a little steep for what you get, especially since parents have to pay also. so, if youre going to go more than a couple of times, the membership is definitely worth it!
Its a wonderful place to visit with young children (1-10).
A pretty good play area for children. Some comfortable seating for adults too.
Its great a little bit spendy bc parents pay to get in as well!
Excellent for families. We have been to quite a few in different states.
Plenty of things for Children to do. With admission you also can go to their other location for the same day until they close.
This is a great place for children! They have storytime, interactive play, interesting exhibits and Hands-On learning activities. I take my two-year-old out there often and he loves all of the activities they have available. Today, he had a music and movement storytime before going upstairs and playing with wind tunnels and pretending to be a veterinarian. Theres always something new to explore here. You may also want to check out their North Campus which has animals and music play. Go online and find the events going on at each site. Most are free for members.
Love bringing the kids here. Great sensory and learning things to do and also lots to do!!
My two boys had a blast! Good place to go for a cheap price.
I thought I was going to be a cute little visual mesuem, but it way much more. I love it although my 5 month old was not big enough to enjoy just yet
Nice place to take the kids for a few hours. Clean and a good bit to see.
Fun and entertaining! Great place to take the kids to explore and use their imagination. They loved every minute of being there.
This was an amazing play place for our 5 and 3 year old. Plenty of seating too in case parents/grandparents need a rest.
Great place to take kids, plenty of room for them to run around. My son loves the place
Love this place! Perfect for moms with toddlers.
Great place to take the kids. Some fixed exhibits and some rotating features.
Awesome time with the family in a really unique childrens museum. A bonus, our passes from home got us in at no charge
Lots of fun for the kids! They even had a craft where the kids made a crown out of paper.
My kid had a reasonably enjoyable experience but Im not sure he learned anything. I thought Kaleideum was going to be more of a learning experience but was more like a play area.
You cant beat the Krispy Kreme donut machine or the sock skating rink where you can have a family snowball fight. #kidsloveit
The kids really like the new China exhibit and some days they have a dragon parade that was a big hit with my kids. We also love the guided crafts they have downstairs. I do wish there was more of a dedicated presence in some of the play areas upstairs because frequently the toys and other items are in the wrong places (sometimes not even in the correct exhibit).
I personally like the north location better because everything is spread out; at this location, its not. Be prepared to keep a closer eye on your little ones here, it seems to be a little busier than the other location. My kids enjoy the variety of activities here.
Kaleideum Downtown is a great place for toddlers and small children to learn through play. There is fine for them to do to keep the having fun all day. Our three year old loves this place more than Chuck E Cheese. Lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend.
Wonderful variety of activities; clean and inviting atmosphere. Super for childrens parties.
Great time for the kids! Try to go when summer camp kids arent there...ijs
Great place but go early if you can. Gets real crowded. Very cool experience with our 3 and 7 year old.
Cool place for kids to learn and explore.
