We bought the combo tickets for the Jamestown Settlement & American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. We really liked both museums. They were very informative and interactive. The museums are divide into time periods and have videos and displays that can be interacted with to learn more. They also have an outdoor section with people dressed in period friendly costumes to explain the life and times of early settlers. Everyone is very friendly. We had a great time. It took us two full days to see it all, a day for each museum.

Awesome place for some great history. They have reenactments in certain areas and a great museum. The cafeteria is open and theres limited areas you can go into. Theres also no pictures allowed inside the museum which doesnt make any sense. Everything else was awesome including the fort and the Native American area.

A great place to spend at least a couple of hours while learning about multiple different things from the Jamestown era. It has amazing museum exhibits and a very cool outside exhibits, old ships, and a nature trail. The nearby Colonial Parkway is a great way to get around to the neighboring sites, cities and towns.

The movies, presentations, digital activities were really well done and easy for people of all ages to get into.Im just upset I couldnt see the Revolutionary War section when I was done seeing everything about Jamestown. So thats up to you how much you want to see and read.

Tickets are reduced to $17.50 right now for an adult because some of the exhibits are closed. You can walk onto one of the three ships but can’t go into any enclosed rooms on it.There was lots to see in the indoor exhibits. Most everyone I saw was wearing a mask correctly. At the outdoor exhibits, there were many employees and visitors not wearing masks.

Simply worth the price of admission. Really well done. The staff is great. Well-kept up park and educational signs everywhere. The museum is terrific, including the feature short movie. Just love the place. Discounts for multiple days or a combo pack for Yorktown and Jamestown. You can see the entire place in one day so plan to be there awhile. 5 stars!

We really enjoyed this unexpected treasure. The staff was very helpful, yet allowed us to enjoy the exhibits without interruption. They two videos we saw were spectacular. The indoor museum was clean and so well put together. Restrooms were plentiful and clean as well. The outdoor exhibits were wonderful. We enjoyed boarding a replica of one of the old ships they traveled to Virginia in. We also spoke with many of the staff who were Manning various locations throughout the outdoor museum. They were so knowledgeable and friendly.

We arrived here a little later in the day and didnt have time to really enjoy all there is to do. We tried our best to get as much in as possible without rushing it too much. The reenactors did very well. We thoroughly enjoyed the displays and learning some of the ways of life in the colonial period. The museum was very well planned. It was very pleasant walking through and reading the information about the various aspects of life in those times passed. Our daughter enjoyed the native American village and fort the most. I do plan to come back....just dont know when. Thank yall for providing such a wonderful and educational experience.

This was an amazing adventure for both young and old to explore how Virginias first residents lived and the challenges they had to deal with at the time.I was disappointed that the kids couldnt explore the ships fully because they were locked down. The museum was fantastic and laid out perfectly to allow one to explore the historical context of Jamestown.

Man has this place changed. Unfortunately not as good as what I remembered. Im sure that part of it is due to Covid but only 4 people were outside showing demonstrations of how to make things in the old days. It was perfect weather outside, sunny and 70* . Where was the glassblowing, pottery, farming etc. Honestly wasnt worth the money that I had to pay...sorry guys..

The Jamestown Settlement is an educational experience that you can bring your children to. It is definitely geared more toward children than it is to adults. There are outdoor exhibits as well as indoor exhibits. They have replicas of ships that are nice. They had a special marine exhibit upstairs in a gallery. I dont know if they have those special exhibits all the time, but the one they had today was great. It was mostly paintings of all descriptions. That was my favorite part of the Settlement.

Absolutely a must see when visiting historical Williamsburg, VA.We had a pass to do Yorktown as well but did not have time. The exhibit inside and out, to the 3 shop replicas as well as interactive activities outside are just amazing! Children as well as adults will enjoy and learn so much about this great country of ours. So much history. Diversity and nations coming together. You must have an interest in history to fully enjoy. Parking is free. There is a cafe as well as a very well established gift shop. Just a word of advise. Start early as in the heat it is hard to enjoy all outdoors. You can board one ship and learn of the many voyages and those who came here. Socially distance is required right now. Masks out doors if in area where others are not able to distance. Hopefully we will be normal soon and we can return to this wonderful place. Elevators and scooters for handicapped. Very informative staff. Very clean and well run.

Very educational for my homeschoolers! Highly recommend, the living part outside was a amazing. The people dressed up were willing to tell you anything and talk to you about everything about the first Jamestown settlement. They are very knowledgeable. The kids learned about the first three ships to land in Virginia, the Godspeed, the Discovery and the Susan Constant. There is three outdoor areas: the ships area, the Powhatan village area, and the first settlers area with the houses. There is also a museum inside that takes you through the timeline of the 1600s. They also have an indoor cafeteria for food/lunch items.

They have upped their game big time over the years. Besides a replica of the fort and a Powhatan Indian village and the ships that brought the settlers over there is now a large museum that has wonderful displays. The museum starts with prehistory and then the native Americans who were there. It then goes over the coming of the Europeans and the conflicts that ensued and the hardships the new settlers endured and the poor way they treated the native population. There are different sections that cover how things changed over history. It is easy to spend several hours or more in the museum. Then you have the living museum section with museum staff dressed in period attire and answering questions about what life was like back then. There are soldiers and others in the fort and also people in the Indian village, although not necessarily native American. Even so they are knowledgeable and interesting. You can also tour through the ships that brought them over. They were amazingly small.

We were extremely disappointed with our experience. Advertisements were misleading about operations under new COVID guidelines. There were only a handful of employees dressed in period costume for demonstrations and the majority seemed extremely uninterested in interacting and sharing information with our family. We have 4 children under 11 who were looking forward to this living history event. They enjoyed the museum, however thought the actual living history, or lack there of was boring. As a parent, I feel this was a waste of money. The admission price should have been significantly discounted if the advertised events were not available.

Jamestown Settlement is an indoor and outdoor museum. Indoor is a very large building with displays telling the story of Jamestown (founded 1607) and notable inhabitants (including John Smith and Pocahontas who married John Rolfe not Smith). We saw a special exhibit on the women who came to Jamestown as well. The outdoor museum included a reproduction of the Jamestown fort (with working docents), reproductions of the three ships which brought the colonists and a reproduction of a Powhatan indigenous peoples village. Everything was done in wonderful detail and our visit was very educational - enlightening. I would highly recommend this museum. If you have a bit of time, you can drive down to the archaeological digs as well and get a good feeling for the locale.
