Clean park, clean play equipment. The surrounding area is also clean. It features a basketball court. The ice rink is open on certain days to the public. The splash pads are unfortunately inoperable at this point. My daughter had a great time.

Fairly clean, and lots of stuff for kids to play with. There are a few broken amenities, but overall, my family was impressed with it, and we had fun

Alert* Wasp nest under the playground bridge, I halfway killed it but had to leave before i could finish it off. Otherwise nice playground in need of some repair.

Nice park for kids, just gets extremely crowded at times, which is no ones fault. in the summer there is sprinklers the same kids can run thru.

There are kids unsupervised that just wander around. The kids course and use profanity here. If the city can sometimes have an officer visit the place and question kids without parents there and give the parent a fine. Also if they can add a pool in the back empty area and even charge $2 to get in ..it will be a good summer recratio area

Kids love the water sprinklers. Perfect for hot days.8 months agoToday: hot as hell walked all the way over to coal St park for the water fountain and they were not on. Kids here playing at park. Its green and yet no water. We have our face masks. Just need a lil cool down. Please turn them on.

Great park my child had fun

Coal street park is good. Sometimes it could be well kept. They have fields, and a playground and if you get hot in the summer, you can cool down in the sprinklers. Not the greatest park of them all but certainly not the worse.

Coal street hockey practice place is worth the stop to see it. I was impressed. If you are a hockey fan there are store is well stocked with a lot of wonderful penguin items

The floor is like rubber instead of pesky wood chips which is awesome! On the hot days they have water for the kids to play in which is amazing for those moms with no pool and not alot of funds to continuously pay for public pool etc.

The playground is good for kids. There were some kids who looked too old to be on the playground roughhousing, but they avoiding the younger kids.

Rich and fun and history and very accommodating to families, couples, or large groups. Many facilities can accommodate Basic Park functions. Along with some interesting history. A great place to spend the day with family and friends. Or for a nice picnic. Or a nice walk safe well-groomed facilities. And ample parking to accommodate whatever your needs.

Very fun place for my daughter to play and cool off! Very well matained and when we go kind people as well!

Stopped there with my kids so they can blow off some energy.Great playground that is huge for kids. Many swings and cool things for them to do. There arent that many parks in the WB area that are as well-kept. Plus, this one is home to the Penguins hockey team. Every now and then you can see the players going into the arena to practice. Theyll sometimes stop by and say hi to the kids. Its a pretty great deal.Baseball field is well-maintained during the warmer months and theres a fence around it to keep people out that shouldnt be in there wrecking the field.Free parking too.Downside is that its at the end of a pretty rough neighborhood. I grew up about three miles away so I know the area well. Should be no problems during the day when youre there with your kids.

Great area to kill time outdoors with ur kids, during the day. Simply not enough lighting for night fun. I must mention this is also an area where there have been drug bust. Just be mindful and report anything that appears suspect (no racism please ).

Nice park, shady surroundings though

Went iceskating with the family here and they loved it! Its definitely a great place to take the family. Its not crazy expensive and theres enough space and time for the beginner in your family to get the hang of it. Theres always a few tiny kids who can really skate and put you to shame but its great to see all skill levels having fun.

This park is nice, has a large playground for older children, samller playground for younger children and a water play area. Some of the playground is broken however.

Its a beautiful park!! They have a splash pad for the kids and its free!!! Its wonderful when you dont have a pool and cant always afford the public pools. The kids run from the splash pad to the park to the basketball courts..always moving. The playground itself is fenced in which so important. And Its away from the road. But go early because the biggest downside is the element of adults and kids that come down is horrible. The kids are by themselves,very young kids sometimes because they come down from the housing projects across the street and left to take care of themselves.sad.. so the kids are always fighting and cursing especially when the older kids get there. Then the so called adults come and take over and curse and yell and blast music with nasty profanities...Im sure I listen to music with curses too but I certainly dont blast it where there are young children. It is a kids playground not an adult hang out. I have witnessed fights and cops being called and a man beating and cursing and screaming and dragging his very young child, maybe 3 years old. Disgraceful.. So there needs to be a constant police presence in my opinion..which is very sad for a childs park. I dont always feel safe and we end up leaving ahead of time bed of the other kids and so called adults behavior. It could be a wonderful park but is completely downgraded because of the people there. I wish they didnt build it in such a bad area. So again..go early and you will enjoy yourself...3pm comes get ready to leave.

This park has redeeming qualities depending on when the city decides to care for it. It is severely lacking in restroom/port-a-John availability. Playground equipment needs maintenance. It is nice when they have the splash pad running in the summer.

Always beautiful in clean love it go everyday

Its a public park, has some nice things like a playground for the kids, a cool splash pool ( when it is working), baseball field and plenty of shady trees. Sadly it is dirty and there are some shady characters roaming around, so keep an eye open; especially in the evening. All in all what can you expect for free.

A beautiful place to walk or relax, spacious and serene

Theonly problem I have, with the park, is that there are thick metal pieces coming up out of the ground. It seems as if pieces of the playgrounds set came off. The missing pieces werent there, of course, so my thoughts are, why isnt this resolved better then this? Just left for some poor kid to run and trip on in. These pieces are in places where kids run and play. Theres bathrooms at this park, not too clean, but theres some. There is a pavilion with pinic table and basketball court

This park was great but a few things are broken and EXTREMELY dangerous at the moment.

My dad coaches hockey up there so I always have a blast up there. I highly recommend this place for learning to skate play hockey, and playing on teams

Its really average at best & a lot of hooligans hang around here! People are scared to let their children play here because of all the Murders at the nearby Sherman Hills rent controlled apartment complex. Its a shame because there is enough room that they could really fix it up, even put a public swimming pool, which is much needed in Wilkesbarre!

This park is nice all the way around. It good place to go if you have a family.

Not safe for kids... When we went there you can smell pot. Should have security. Kid ran out in front of our car and the parents yelled at us but they werent watching their kids..

Terrific lobby area with good food. In-rink seating is limited but provides good views of the game.

Kids are unattended and the grown ups are disrespectful!!

The water part is the best part. Other wise its filthy no shade and only one pavilion no clean public restrooms.
